Yay!

To say the least, this break was awesome! Last Friday I went shopping with my mom and got a ton of new clothes, which was awesome, since we also went to the best middle Eastern restaurant in the world, The Pita Inn, which was a real treat.

On Tuesday my mom and I went down to Northwestern to check out the campus and stuff, since it's one school I think I might like to go to. We got a tour and there was this really cute guy on the tour with us who I talked to. Apparently you only need one year of math to major in biology there. Sweeeeeet. I hate math, but I love science. It seems like such a cool place, but it will be a while before I even get to apply. Oh, well, whatever. It was fun anyway.

On Wednesday I took the train to downtown Chicago with a few of my friends including ~TwilightWolfEpona . There were seven of us and Sara's mom. It was fun, but we walked all the way from the train station to Lincoln Park Zoo. It was windy and a bit cold, but it was awesome hanging out with my friends.

Today I went to Chicago again, this time with just Bill and Jim and it was fantastic! We didn't really have much of a plan and we ended up going to the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank's museum, which was actually cooler than it sounds. It was all about money and counterfeiting and stuff. Then, we met up with their brother and he took us out to Thai food. After that we went to Water Tower Place and hung out. It was so much fun and I just got home.

Tomorrow I'm hanging out with ~freakofnature35 ! Yay!

Oh and The Novel is about 500 words away from 75,000!

I. Seven (Lukas) and Eight (Johns) plan a heist. What sort of heist might that be?
…um. Wow. That would be some heist, involving the Secretary of Technology and the friggin Deputy Directory of the Bureau of Criminal Investigations. It would be an awesome heist, I can tell you that much. But let’s just say that Dria and Mark would be laughing their asses off at the amateur thieves.

II. Four (David) gets kidnapped! Is One (Dria) or Nine (Jenni) the more likely culprit?
LOL. Seeing as it’s Dria who RESCUES David from being kidnapped, I’d say Jenni.

III. Six (Katrina) challenges Five (Stephen) to a chess game. What happens?
OH MY GOD. THIS IS THE MOST HILARIOUS FRIGGING CHESS MATCH EVER. Katrina would try to cheat every five seconds and be completely clueless as to how to actually play, Stephen on the other hand would try to take it seriously. Too seriously. It would end when Mark has to kick Katrina out of his apartment (for that is where they would play) because she started throwing his expensive crystal chess pieces out the window.

IV. Who doesn't like to play Pokemon? I bet Ten (Danny) has some great Pokemon! What are they?
XD. Charzard, Pikachu, Ditto, um, I can’t think of any other pokemon right now. He’d have no idea what Pokemon was and claim that he captured an Ash, which is obviously not a Pokemon.

V. How does Three (Miles) like to gussy up for a date?
He’d put on a nice suit, Italian probably if it was an important date. If not, he'd probably wear a sweater. Why? I don't know, he'd just wear a sweater, okay? But he doesn't date much since he sort of hates people.

VI. Five (Stephen) and Two (Mark) take a leisurely vacation together. Where do they go?
They would go to Mexico. Why? Why not! Well, it would be a leisurely vacation for Mark, with plenty of tequila and tacos, swimming and playing beach volleyball with beautiful women, and generally having a wonderful time. Stephen would be left running around trying to make sure Mark doesn’t accidentally drowned in the pool and trying to get him to do work. Mark would push him in the pool.

VII. Nine (Jenni) prepares dinner for Six (Katrina)! What do they make?
Jenni would obviously make…fruit. And Katrina would love it. Health nuts of the world unite!

VIII. Ten (Danny) and Three (Miles) team up. What happens?
Well, they do actually team up. To form part of a criminal empire.

IX. Seven (Lukas), Ten (Danny), Eight (Johns), and One (Dria) all have a sitcom together. What is it called?
What the Fuck are You Doing in My House?
Or

X. Is One (Dria) more accustomed to tangoing, waltzing, or freestyling?
Waltzing. Mark taught her.

XI. Seven (Lukas) hits on Four (David). Result?
Um, I know Lukas is evil, but I don’t think he’s a pedophile. I hope not. This would make everybody involved uncomfortable. Including Mark. And Dria. And Clarice. And Brian. And Samantha. And Marie. And basically everyone who has ever existed Except Katrina, who would think it was cute. Yes, she's sick and twisted.

XII. Two (Mark) is offered an elephant ride or a balloon ride. He/she takes...

Balloon ride. He would proceed to almost fall off. Three times.

XIII. What is Ten's (Danny's) greatest burden?
I’m not sure. He owes people money?

XIV. Eight (Johns), Three (Miles), Five (Stephen), and One (Dria) go out boozing. What happens?
Stephen would get drunk and start ranting about how much he hates Mark to whoever will listen, notably Miles, who doesn’t drink at all. Eventually Miles and Dria, who doesn’t drink either would leave because Stephen is an angry drunk. Johns would join them, since she would obviously be uncomfortable. Why she went drinking with two underage teenagers and Mark’s personal assistant is the real mystery here.

XV. And finally, would Six (Katrina) save Four (David) or Nine (Jenni), if they were both in great danger and he/she could only save one?
She’d save David because she thinks David is Dria’s boyfriend. Why? I’m not exactly sure, but she does.

Holiday updates!

So, as most of you are, I've been on winter break, since I'm just that cool. Anyway, I've been doing quite a bit of art. Wow, I can't believe that I only got my lovely tablet one year ago. Maybe I'll post a year progress sometime before new years.

My Hanukkah gifts were pretty epic this year:
-A wii. With wii sports, games, and an extra controller.
-An Obama victory tee shirt
-A shirt that reads "Hello my name is: Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die."
-Some awesome tea
-A new jewelry box
-A hunting cap
-and a few other things

Man, I can't believe it's almost 2009. But the good think is, for the first time I can remember, I actually set and accomplished a huge New Year's Resolution: Finishing my novel. And, yep, I did it. After all these years, I finally did it.

I guess I've improved a lot in art over 2008. If you would have told me two years ago that I'd be a good artist I would have laughed.


Also, I watched the 70s Great Gatsby movie last night. It followed the plot pretty well, but the movie Daisy was even less appealing then the book Daisy. I don't know what Gatsby saw in her. Anyway, they turned what should have been romantic into awkward and borderline creepy, much like the Twilight movie.

I really, really want a good Gatsby movie. Desperately. I think I might be doing some fan art soon.

The Busiest Month of the Year

So, November is already here and the first week has already flown by. Here's a little update on what's been happening:

On the first was my birthday, I turned 15 and had my party that day. The next day was my family/Ronni birthday dinner at the fondue restaurant which was way awesome.

Then came the election, which I have been waiting for for two years. Why does the American political process HAVE to take so long. Geez guys.

Also on the first came the start of National Novel Writing Month, which I will be participating in again this year. I failed two years ago, but I'm rewriting that story this year and have so far been right on track. I hope to complete 50,000 words this year, just as I did last year, but hopefully I won't realize a few days after I finish that I left out a whole major chunk of the plot that I didn't even know existed.

New CSS as well. Thought it was time for a little bit of change.

So, school started...a few weeks ago. Neglecting my journal is sort of a hobby of mine.

Sorry to those I owe requests to, I've had very little time to do art (and when I've gotten a chance I've been doing "procrastination art"). I will get started with them soon.

I finally got Corel Painter to work after many, many failed attempts to get it to work and I love it. I'd really like to work with it more.

And I have to talk about politics. Haha, you can stop reading now if you want.

Warning, these are the opinions of a liberal democrat, I do not like arguing about politics, but I feel like I have to put my two cents in. I mean no offense by any comments made:

You know you've been watching too much MSNBC when you start having dreams about the presidential candidates. Three in fact, and two of those were nightmares about John McCain. It's funny, because I like him better then Palin.

Now, Palin is one lady who scares me more then John McCain's creepy ass laugh. The only reason she's getting support is because she's a woman. This does nothing for sexism, it is not "breaking the glass" or whatever that metophore was, it's just using gender as a political tool. She is against everything I believe in. Not only is she a creationist, but she believes that evolution should not be taught in school. Having her a heart-beat away from the presidency scares me. I wonder when I'll start having Palin nightmares.

Let's face it, McCain is old. He has a history of cancer. If he is elected (through some cruel twist of fate) then he will be the oldest president ever elected to office. That means that there is a chance that in the next four years he will die in office, leaving the crazy Alaskan soccer mom in charge of the most powerful nation on earth. I could not stand for that.

If that ticket winds up in the Oval Office it is guaranteed that America will continue on this path of failed economic policies and a war that my children might, if they're lucky, see the end of. The GOP is the party of chance, accordign to McCain. Change? How can the party of George W. Bush be the party of change? What is your slogan now, "Elect us and we'll try to help clean up the mess we've made"?

What we really need is someone who can lead our country, get the support of the rest of the world, and bring science back to the table. This is an expalnation of Obama's policies on science: [link] . This: [link] , says that out of people in 22 countries surveyed, 17 of them think diplomatic relationships with America would improve with Obama as president, and all surveyed said that they would prefer Obama as president.

All though I can not vote, I will do whatever I can to help Barack Obama and Joe Biden on their way to the White House. I have never felt stronger about any political election. When I was about seven years old, Bush was elected into office. For the past eight years of my life I've had to put up with a government which has thrown us into an unnecessary war, watched as our economy sank into a recession, and bumbled it's way though these situations. I choose real change, not change orchestrated by a man who's conformed to his party only to get elected.

Well, anyway, me and ~freakofnature35 ended up going to Chicago to see John Green (author of Looking For Alaska and An Abundance of Katherines) speak and sign books with his brother Hank. The two of them were the ones who founded the Nerdfighting movement in the first place. It was amazing, and I got interviewed on the news. Sweeeet.

Golf: Golf started last week. It's not all that bad this year, since I've got some friends on the team. We had tryouts Wednesday and Thursday (though everybody makes the team anyway) which totaled me playing about six hours of golf. Golf shoes seem to give very painful blisters.

School: *sigh* It's almost time to go back to school. Oh, the horror. At least I finished reading and annotating The Secret Life of Bees and writing part of the essay. I'm going to the mall with Ronni tomorrow, to go shopping for school clothes. I love vests <3

Art: This is completly random, but do any of you want to know why I draw mostly in realism, now? It's because I hate drawing decent line art. Seriously, that's the only reason. Most of my lineart is done in MS paint, for some reason, but even when I do it in photoshop it's messy as hell. I have no patience drawing lines.

I got a new sexy sketchbook yesterday at the book store (and Watchmen, which is awesome). It's blue and brown and has regular white computer paper pages (or whatever you call it). The only thing I hated about my other sketchbook was that the paper had texture, and when I scanned it the lines never came out clean.

Okay, over the past few days I've been using photoshop for hours and hours, and I think I've finally gotten the hang of working with it (took me long enough). *eyeroll*

Anyway, I saw the Dark Knight and...wow. Just wow. I'm sure you've all heard it before, but Ledger's Joker was mind blowing. I didn't know weather to laugh hysterically or cower in fear half the time.

The next day, oddly enough, I saw Mamma Mia with my mom and my grandma, who saw the musical on stage. It was pretty good, my grandma loved it and started threatening to call her favorite radio station and yell at them for giving it a bad review. It was a fun movie and I liked it, for what it was worth.

Then, I finally dug into The Host, by Stephanie Myers because I'd been meaning to for a good while. I think I may have liked it better then Twilight, which I will admit I actually like. I was up until two in the morning reading two nights in a row. It was awesome.

I really need to start on my summer reading for school. I've only got a month left and I need to annotate the book. >> Not fun. Then write an essay. More fun then annotating.

Some annotations found in the last book I had to annotate(it was a murder mystery):

1. Divide the list up by even and odd. Which group of five would make a better Five Man Band (like a Power Rangers team)? Hm, team A is pretty fucking hilarious. Stephen and Mark on a team is absolutely, fantastically funny, since Stephen is Mark’s personal assistant (AKA babysitter). Plus you’ve got Miles (the arrogant crime boss), Chester (Mark’s childhood teacher, and a genius), and Sean (Miles’ insane dad. They’d Make a much better team then team B.

B is pretty funny, too. You’ve got Dria (classy art thief extraordinaire), Lukas FUCKING Par (computer genius, billionaire, and evil dude or something), David (random kid Dria once rescued, Katrina (famous fashion designer), and Clover (Lukas’ not so bright niece).

With switch, I’d switch Dria for Sean. Sorry, Sean, but it’s a better team xD

2. Gender-swap 1, 3 & 7. Which character would have the most change in their story arc? Which the least? Would any of these characters have to have a complete personality change to be believable as the opposite sex?

Lukas, Katrina, Dria

Oh, god. Lukas as a woman would be scary. Considering he has three kids, and he’s not exactly motherly. Um, personality wise, he’d probably be the same, power-hungry and evil. But it would be sort of hilarious. Hm, what would he do about Clarice?

Katrina is a fashion designer, so there would be some changes, but hey, I could see her as a gay male fashion designer. Seriously. Okay, she wouldn’t change that much.

And Dria. Wow, that would change a lot of things. Her relationship with her best friend, Mark, and basically her whole story. And she’s my most badass female character, so it would be sad indeed if she was a guy. Personality, I guess would only change slightly. She’d be like a more serious, lest borderline insane Mark.


3. Compare the matchups of 1 & 8 and 5 & 9. (Ignore sexual preferences for the moment.) Which couple would be more compatible? Which couple would be more plausible to people from either principal's home culture?

Lukas and Sean. David and Clover

Lukas and Sean would murder each other, since Sean hates, HATES Lukas with a passion, claiming that he bit him on the leg in med school (don’t ask). No one would believe that they could ever, ever be a couple. Ever.

David and Clover is slightly more plausible. David=Average high school stundent. Clover=Niece of Lukas Par, daughter of Gregory Davenport. She’s like the red-head Paris Hilton of the Par family. He probably thinks she’s hot. She could care less, but whatever. Mark would probably die of laughter and irony (Clover is his step-cousin).

4. Your team is 3, 4 & 9. The mission consists of a social challenge, a mental challenge and a physical challenge. Which team member do you assign to each challenge?

Katrina, Mark, Clover.

Mental: Katrina, I guess. She’s pretty smart, and Mark would be needed for the physical challenge.
Physical: Mark, since he’s the strongest.
Social: Clover, because that’s one thing she’s good at.

5. 7 becomes 1's boss for a week in some plausible fashion. How's their working relationship?

Dria and Lukas.

LOL. Lukas Par being bossed around by a teenage girl, and none the less his son’s best friend. Dria would basically tell Lukas to be nice and stop trying to take over the government, and he would reluctantly oblige. After the week was up, he would have her killed, Mark would seek revenge, and Lukas would be dead. Dennis would cheer.

Not much of event has happened in my life, except I need to do my English project soon. Ugh, analyzing poems isn't all that much fun. But, I had a half-day today, and that was pretty rockin.

In other news, I may be getting a subscription soon, another reason I decided to switch accounts. I didn't want to be stuck with that name having a subscription to it, so I'll just sign it up on this name.

When I do, I'll have a lot of fun with it. So that will be soon, hopefully.
