I keep getting in fights with my AP Drawing teacher. Apparently I'm way too "Type A" to be a good artist, or to get along with her. >:/ She is so frustrating... but I'll be sure to upload the tryptich I'm working on in said class.

On a happier note, for the first time ever, my math (Calculus) grade is my best grade! I feel a little smarter now.

In my Advanced Studied Ecology class, we did a nocturnal lab in the forest. We set up mist nets over a pond to catch bats. And we caught a fish. Yeah, a fish in a bat's net. It was funny.

I know nobody will write back, but if you do you get a cake (was going to be cookie, but I couldn't find the icon)! I feel like talking to people today.

Other news... Only ONE WEEK left of school! After that, I'm a senior! After that it's off to college, a whole notha' story. Exams are 'round the corner, but I'm not overly concerned.

Oh yeah, a lesson for y'all. Exactos are a very fun way to pass the time as you can etch into desks, cut up paper, whatever. But don't cut yourself or other people. Today at my drawing table we were playing with some and one of my friends accidentally cut my other friend's finger. And exacto wounds bleed more than a paper cut, yes.

But you shouldn't play with exactos unless you're in a drawing class, doing a project with exactos, and have a mindless teacher.

I hurt my tooth and the gum above it on an eeevvilll cajun porkchop yesterday... it aches! Gotta look out for porkchops and wheat thins; they're plotting to overthrow.

So yesterday there was this thing called "Earth Hour" where everyone was asked to turn off all their lights at home. So I did, just for fun, and just chillaxed for an hour in the dark. Which is very relaxing, I must say, especially with the rain outside. So while everyone was dancing lamely at Prom, I was sitting in the dark, conserving electricity. That SOO beats going to prom anyday

I finished the whole Twilight series and now I'm in the boat of anxious fans.... Have to wait until August.... Nooo..... Seriously, I don't know how I became so addicted to the series O_0

The ACT (or hell?) is 'round the corner. I've been studying for is at Starbucks every other day. It helps having a constant flow of caffeine to your head while studying. Plus I can't study at home to save my life; I get way to distracted. Anyone else like this?

Death Note 13: How to Read was released a few days ago. If you're a fan, you must read it! Tons of interesting interviews and extras. Also, the spinoff prequel novel came out too. Read it if you are a fan! I finished it in one sitting.

We had SNOW in GA on Saturday. I can't believe it. It's been at least five years. But WHY did it have to be on a weekend? If it was on a weekday school would have been canceled. Why, oh why, fickle weather?


Never tagged, but I'm doing this anyway out of boredom and other random inspirations:

The rules:

I: My favorite horse breeds are the Peruvian Paso, Paint, and Spanish breeds (But I like so many others!). Two of my biggest goals in riding are to learn reining and to ride all sorts of gaited breeds.

II: I freaking HATE the cold. And I'm always cold.... even in warm weather. I have a resolution never to move any further north than Tennessee!

III: One weird quirk of mine is that I count in multiples of three, always. Makes in easier for me, for some odd reason.

IV: At the moment I'm wrestling a tic-tac box, trying to get out two tic-tacs stuck against the side. And they're the really good kind that you can eat like candy, the white ones. Quite frustrating!

V. I love experimenting with all kinds of art media. I'm trying to learn pen-and-ink with a traditional quill right now.

VI. I like using roman numerals. They're fun.

VII. I love all Harvest Moon games. Anyone else like 'em?

VIII. I'm not afraid to admit that my family is native to Alabama. 'Round here, people are very prejudiced against Southerners (especially Alabamans) and assume the worst stereotypes. I've got Alabama blood, and you just gotta deal wit it!

Anyways, I was even so slightly disappointed because I scored so close to my goal, but not quite. I scored a 1980 total, with my sectional scores being 650, 630, and 700 for reading, math, and writing respectively. I was aiming for a 2000+ but I intentionally aimed higher than I could do, because if you don't aim for perfection you will fall very short... just my philosophy.

On a different note, it's nearly Christmas! Since I was so caught up in the SAT and finals, I failed to realize that Christmas is in five days. Squee! Merry Christmas everyone!

*ponders doing commissions for Christmas presents* Maybe soon, if I get a tablet mmmyess...

Anyways, it is a LONG test; It stared at 8:00 AM and ended at 1:00 PM. 10 sections including the essay, which you only get 25 minutes to do. The PSAT is just SAT-lite; don't be fooled into thinking that you are taking the exact same as the SAT when you take that.

If I post the essay topic online, secret government ninjas will come from the ceiling and slit my throat, so if you want to know, you won't get it in a journal, sorry. They made us sign about 3 forms saying that we won't say anything... but the first thing people (including myself) did during the break was say "What did you write about for the essay topic?" or "Yeah, that was a really stupid topic!"

Uggghhh! I have to take the SAT in one week . I really hope I do well (over 2000 at least!) so I don't have to pay to take the damn thing again. I've taken an SAT prep course but I need to sit down and actually take a practice test. Waste of a weekend, yes?

I've also come to the conclusion that Japanese music, whether it be j-rap, j-metal, etc. is evil because you hate it but can't stop listening to the freaking song! Grrr! Has anyone heard the Death Note opeining 2, "What's Up People?"? It is just plain scary but I just can't quit singing it!

My new G4 is finally set up and complete with all of CREATIVE SUITE 2! I'm so excited... Photoshop CS2 is awesome. I might teach myself to use Illustrator CS2 while I'm at it too

I caught up on all the chapters in D.Gray -Man. It's a very good manga and I really suggest it. You'll probably like it a lot if you're a Bleach fan. Remember to read the MANGA, because the anime's voice acting is, well, strange... Poor Allen Walker has a freaking girly voice! Ugh.

Anyway, time for weekly happenings that nobody cares about...

Today in drawing class we had little lamps to light up or still-life arrangements and the lamp at my table started smoking and then exploded! The glass part of the bulb shot out of the lamp about a foot... it was so funny! The n00b student teacher had no idea what to do.

In Literature class we are studying "Moby-Dick", which is actually pretty interesting for a classic. Our lit teacher is cool, and when she told us that the word "Moby" used to mean "big" the whole class started dying laughing, and she laughed along with us! She's pretty out there for a high school lit teacher; She is always saying how boring early American literature is (what kind of lit teacher does that?), and she tells us all these theories about classic authors being gay!

Bleargh, I have to wake up early and go to an SAT prep course at school. I want to do well, but I don't really feel like staying at school on a Saturday from 9 AM to 12 PM...

I'm now officially addicted to an anime called "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya". A great sci-fi but also hilarious too! It's only 14 episodes, so I should have it finished soon. BP demands you watch it You'll be addicted in no time!

ETA! I got a new Mac G4 today! I have to wait a week for someone to come load Creative Suite 2, which includes Photoshop CS2. Now we have 3 Macs and 1 PC. 4eva! (Though, the PC laptop we have is nice too.)

OK, I told A-R in one of my comments that I would post my prep-classification system. I naturally tend to classify things and give those classifications names... so here's mine for the infamous high-school prep... Here goes...

*Disclaimer: I do not condone blatant stereotyping. These classifications come from purely experience, and are not meant to be used against poor innocent preps*

Prep type 1:
A "true prep". Goes to a boarding, preparatory, or uppity private school. Snobbery runs a muck , and they tend to cling together in tight cliques. (SUBCLASSES: Type 1A- The ultimate, truest, richest Type 1. Not found outside of New England. Type 1B- Type 1's found everywhere else. May not be as rich or prestigious as 1As but still affluent.)

Prep type 2:
Can be summed up in one word-- airhead. Typical; may be heard saying things such as "i was lyk OMG, totally!!!1" Sometimes mean, sometimes nice enough. Lives on Facebook and Myspace.

Prep type 3:
A more obscure type to some people, but common in my area. These preps are smart, but they are party animals and enjoy similar activities to Type 2s. Often they were un-prep in Elementary school but became prep later.

Anyways, about the title... I've formulated the best studying strategy... I call it Cram no Jutsu (not really; I'm not THAT nerdy)

What you do is you sort of pay attention (stay awake as much as physically possible) in class and take notes. The night before the test, while you're laying in bed, take a really quick look over your notes and then go to sleep. The next day take every spare moment to read back over your notes in the same order that you did the night before. This strategy has saved me and actually gotten me good grades on big, fat, reeking of evil tests. Such as the eeeevvviiillll Physics test yesterday.

So if you're in a pinch... don't stay up late or do anything else to prepare. It'll just stress you out more and cause you to screw up. I've seen it happen countless times.

On the other hand, can you believe that AL GORE of all people got the Nobel??? *wretches* He better not run for Pres!
