This excites me quite a bit, especially since Kay has not yet seen my campus at alllll. Yaay, I get to play tour guide! Wheee.

Anyway.  That's all.
hahaa.

How old are you?
Eighteen.

Gender?
Female, but I feel that gender is relative, in a lot of ways. I never think of myself as female. Or male, for that matter.

Gender preference?
I'm pansexual.  =]

Your honest balls-to-the-wall opinion on:
Furries:
I'm not into them, but I guess I'm not entirely against them. It really depends.

Fangirls:
Oh God. It depends on the intensity. Screaming, glomping, squealing-in-Japanese fangirls are NOT cute, no matter what anyone thinks. I definitely fangirl about things, but I try to keep it to myself. Hahaa.

Fanboys:
Pretty much the same for the fangirls. Hahaa.

Yaoi:
I love it. Hahaa. I also agree with author-child; shojo-style lovers are never totally sincere...for the most part, I mean. I'm definitely not against heterosexual love, but I'd like to see it done and made genuine.

Critique, regardless of art form or genre:
Constructive criticism and critique = excellent.
Incessant praise = not good.
Flaming = sinful.

Manga style Illustration:
It depends almost entirely upon the artist. Pre-packaged, popular manga/anime style makes me a little queasy. I like Yun Kouga a lot, and a select few others. I definitely do choose manga based on art quality...hahaa.

Manga style Illustration with a Western influence:
If it's done well, I'm all for it.

Rap music:
I'm not a fan.

Mainstream pop music:
Garbage.  Honestly.

‘GRRL’ Gamers:
I'm fine with female gamers; a good number of my friends are female gamers.

Girls in general:
Well, that depends on the girls, I'm pretty sure. The girls I hang out with are pretty much amazing. A lot of girls tend to bother me. XD

Men in general:
I'm a bit of a feminist, so my natural inclination is to call them all pigs. XD Naw,they're all right. I'm friends with a good number of guys. People are people to me. =]

American politics; especially George W. Bush:
I hate politics, and...I'm not terrifically fond of Bush. At all.

Gay people (boy-boy, girl-girl):
People are people, no matter who they sleep with. =]

Bisexuality:
the way most people are, I think. I'm pansexual, which means I don't really discriminate as to what gender [male, female, or other] I could fall in love with, or what have you. So I'm definitely cool with bisexuality.

Japan:
Absolutely fucking amazing, and the best ten days of my life thus far. Yes, I've been. It's an amazing place. Everything about it reeks culture and coolness. I would write more about it, but I feel like...I can't find the right words to describe it.

Pedophiles/Pedophilia:
That depends. Rape is never cool. But if you love someone considerably younger...well, that's different.

The internet male/ Tough guy:
I'm not sure what the category means.

Roleplayers:
Fun group of people.  =]

Myspace:
Life-sucker-outer.  Hahaa.

Sex Industry:
Ridiculous.  XD

Anime:
That really, really depends on the anime. Akira = excellent. Some others...not so much.

America:
I live there. Hahaa. I like the idea; I hate what it's become.

YOUR job is to guess 'em. You get major cool points if you caaaan.

Maybe even an actual prize if I feel up to it. Good luck!

1. "Baby, I've been waiting/I've been waiting night and day./I didn't see the time;/I waited half my life away."
2. "Aging eyesore/Nearly nowhere/found,/unearthed..."  [That's a tricky one...]
3. "I heard that there's a secret chord, that David played/And it pleased the Lord..." "Hallalujah," by Leonard Cohen.
4. "White on white/translucent black capes/back on the rack..."
5. "Say goodbye, my one true lover,/And we'll steal a lover's song..."
6. "Dance me through your beauty with a burning violin/Dance me through the panic 'til I'm gathered safely in..."
7. "You toss in a word/and I'm your villain..." [That one's too easy.]
8. "There's a devil waiting outside your door/There's a devil waiting outside your door,/and he's bucking and braying and pawing at the floor..."
9. "There's such a sad love deep in your eyes/A kind of pale jewel..."
10. "I can't seem to face up to the facts/I'm tense and nervous, and I can't relax..."
11. "So far away/Come on, I'll take you far away..." [That's a toughie...]
12. "As the snow flies/On a cold and gray Chicago morn, a poor little baby child is born..."
13. "Cultivating sounds/For all the mothers who come near/To find out..."
14. "You are the latest contender/You are the ones that remember/You are the villain who sends a/Line of dark fantastic passion..." "Darts of Pleasure," by Franz Ferdinand.
15. "Some say you're troubled, boy/Just because you like to destroy/All the things that bring the idiots joy.../Well, what's wrong with a little destruction?"
16. "When the sun goes down/And the bats are back to bed/The brothers come 'round/I get out of my dirty bed..."
17. "Suzanne takes you down to her place near the river/You can hear the boats go by, you can spend the night beside her..." [EASY.]
18. "Setsunasa no kagiri made dakishimete mo..." [This is hard. And Japanese. ]
19. "The devil moon took me through the alley,/Down by the kardomah and the centrale..."
20. "Came in from a rainy Thursday on the avenue/Thought I heard you talking softly..."
21. "Take these shoes,/Click-clacking down some dead-end street..."
22. "And what costume shall the poor girl wear..?" [If I gave anymore, it would be obvious...]
23. "When I was a young man I carried my pack/And I lived the free life of a rover..."
24. "In the western sky,/My kingdom come....So still/So dark all over Europe..."
25. "Nagaredasu watashi no namida hibi wareta GLASS dama nijinda anata..." [Another Japanese! Different singer/group than the other one.]
26. "Mary, grab the baby/The river's rising..."
27. "It's coming through a hole in the air,/from those nights in Tiananmen Square..."
28. "They made a statue of us/And put it on a mountaintop..."
29. "When there's nowhere else to run/Is there room for one more son..?"
30. "After a fashion, which is/purely the mood that takes me...I'll set my mouth on fire..."

There, I gave you a nice selection.

I'll probably end up doing this again in the future.

Yes, I know I'm a whore.

EDIT: Updated, and so far Beth's the only one who's answered...she's only gotten two so far.

KEEP GUESSING, PEOPLE.

Just a fun music survey...BECAUSE I CAN, DAMN IT.

How do you feel right now?
"Leavin' on Your Mind," Patsy Cline. Not really...but this is a great song.

What did you dream about last night?
"Gessekai," BUCK-TICK. It's possible; your guess as to what I dreamt is as good as mine, quite honestly.

What song will you have at your funeral?
"Fish & Bird," Tom Waits. Well, it's appropriately moody.

What song reminds you of the person you like at the moment?
"The Corpse Bride," Danny Elfman. From the soundtrack to the movie, yes. And...it doesn't really do anything for the question, considering it's not exactly applicable.

What song describes your parents?
"Closing Time," Leonard Cohen. Uh. Not exactly.

What song is about your love life?
"Rio," Duran Duran. These answers are ridiculous. Seriously.

What best describes your friends?
"Dirty Old Town," the Pogues. I think I have to agree with this one, actually...

"I met my love by the gas works wall,
Dreamed a dream by the old canal.
I Kissed my girl by the factory wall...
Dirty old town,
Dirty old town..."

Basically, the ol' hometown. It's a good song, if a little odd.

What best describes your workmates?
"Ave Maria," Charlotte Church. Somehow, no.

what song will you play at your wedding?
"No Place Like London," Stephen Sondheim, from Sweeney Todd. That bodes ill.

Describe your first kiss..
"40'," Franz Ferdinand.

"As I glance once upon the foam
Forty feet beneath my feet,
The coldest calm falls
Through the molten veins,
Cooling all the blood to slush
That congeals around the again..."

...

?

What do you want for christmas?
"She Fell Away," Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Makes no senseeeee.

What song describes the day you had today?
"Slowly Goes the Night," Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Actually, my day was quite pleasant, and this is quite a sad song.

What song describes your future?
"Sarah," Trevor Jones, from Labyrinth. It's instrumental! I'm assuming that means I'm going to wind up in some fantasy land with a Goblin King in love with me. I wouldn't mind; Jareth is hot shit.

What is your favourite thing to do ?
"Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!" Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Zombies? Looooove this song. But I really don't see the significance... oh wait!

"He stockpiled weapons and took potshots in the air;
He feasted on their lovely bodies like a lunatic
And wrapped himself up in their soft yellow hair..."

It's all so very clear now.

Who do you love?
"By the Sea," Stephen Sondheim, from Sweeney Todd.
...But at least it's something new!

Choose 10 of your OC's. Or ten of your favourite people. (Like friends, family, and celebrities. Anyone you think is cool.) But you can't chose yourself.

1: Luke
2: Lucifer
3: Lilith [wow L-names...]
4: Jack
5: Henry
6: Crow Jane
7: Edward
8: Pietro
9: Harlan
10: Elric

1) 4 invites 3 and 8 to dinner at their house. What happens?
Jack invites Lilith and Pietro. Why? Uh...Lilith probably drinks too much, and Pietro doesn't say anything all night, because he can't...and Jack's a terrible host, I'm sure.

2) 9 tries to get 5 to go to a strip club.
Harlan...and Henry. Jack would strangle Harlan with his own ponytail, the damn jester. Henry would only go if he could see Nick, 'cos they're buddies.

3) You need to stay at a friends house for the night. Do you chose 1 or 6?
Luke or Crow Jane? Actually, that's a hard decision. I could get all cuddly with Luke, which is a definite possibility...or I could get treated to goodies from Crow Jane like she was me very own grandma. Hmmm. I think I'd probably go for Luke, though. I got my own granny.

4) 2 and 7 are making out. 10 walks in...Their reaction?
Lucifer and Edward?! WHY DO THESE TWO ALWAYS SHOW UP DOING THINGS THEY SHOULDN'T? God. Edward's, like...seven, at best. Elric walks in and is probably terrified. I'm going to need to seriously think about implementing Edward into the other story, because he obviously likes Lucifer. Or Luci likes Edward.

5) 3 falls in love with 6. 8 is jealous. What happens?
Lilith falls in love with Jane. Pietro is jealous? I don't think Pietro would be jealous, really. And I wouldn't put it past Lilith to fall in love with Jane, but they have a hell of a lot in common, so it probably wouldn't work out.

6) 4 jumps you in a dark allyway. Who comes to your rescue? 10,2 or 7?
Jack jumps at me. Elric, Lucifer, or Edward? Lucifer, definitely. He has this thing about protecting the weak. But Jack would just be teasing, anyway.

7) 1 decides to start a cooking show. 15 minutes later what is happening?
Luke, eh? Fifteen minutes in, Luke's sitting Gabriel down in order to force-feed him. That's part of the excuse of having a cooking show. That, and wearing a frilly apron.

8) 5 is in a car crash and is critically injured. What does 9 do?
Henry and Harlan. Harlan visits him in the hospital and does acrobatic tricks to make him feel better, but Jack gets jealous, remembering the time Harlan tried to take Henry to that strip club. Harlan better be carrying his slapstick, or he's dead.

9) 3 has to marry either 8,4 or 9. Who do they chose?
Lilith...Pietro, Jack, or Harlan? None of them. She's...a bit of an independent woman.

10) 7 kidnaps 2 and demands something from 5 for 2's release. What is it?
Edward, Lucifer, and Henry. Again, why is Edward doing anything with Lucifer? HE IS A CHILD. Gracious. He probably wants a teddy bear.

11) You get to meet either 1 or 6. Who do you chose?
Luke or Jane again? Baaah....probably Luke. I love Luke.

12) 10 challenges 4 to a chariot race. Why?
Elric and Jack? Because they're bored, most likely.

13) Everyone gangs up on 3. Does 3 have a chance in hell?
Lilith.  Eh...maybe a small one.

14) Everyone is invite to 2 and 10's wedding except for 8. How do they react?
Lucifer and Elric? *dies* Pietro wouldn't really care.

15) Why is 6 afraid of 7?
Jane afraid of Edward? Janie ain't afraid o'nuffin'.

16) 10 gathers everyone around to tell them a fairy tale. How does it go?
Elric......

Feel free to go ahead and add some questions yourself!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Luke - a laid-back, grape-lollipop loving, sci-fi addicted Angel.
Jack - a chain-smoker with a penchant for pince-nez, and the lover of Henry.
Henry - a fashionista and all around lovely kiddo.  =]
Phelan - a shepherd with an eyepatch, whose sheepdog is a wolf.  As of yet unused.
1. What kind of job do you have?
Luke - I'm an Angel.  'Nough said?
Jack - I do whatever.
Henry - I'm a model.
Phelan - I'm a shepherd.
2. Is there someone special you want to tell us about?
Luke - Gabriel...well, he cares.  Just don't ask him about it.
Jack - Henry.
Henry - Jack.
Phelan - I like Bedivere, my wolf comrade.
3. What's your situation at home?
Luke - I'm an outcast in Heaven, so I hang out on Earth.  Lucifer is my buddy/father figure.
Jack - My mother was killed, and I now live with Henry.  We kinda move around a bit.
Henry - My father was physically abusive, so I left when I got the chance.  I live with Jack.
Phelan - I live in a little shack on the land for which I shepherd, alone except for Bedivere, who is allowed to come and go as he pleases.
4. Do you have any siblings?
Luke - Nay.
Jack - No.
Henry - Yes; a sister, Christina.
Phelan - No.
5. What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Luke - Is there grape?  'Cause that's it.
Jack - Strawberry.
Henry - Vanilla.
Phelan - [He lives in a place where ice cream probably doesn't exist, but things being as they are, I'll answer as best as possible.]  Vanilla.
6. How is your health (physically or mentally)?
Luke - I'm all right.  There's some emotional damage, but we're all like that to an extent.
Jack - I'm a bit of an alcoholic, and the smoking probably isn't all that great...my mother's death left me with some emotional angst.
Henry - I was abused, so I have some emotional issues...physically, I have many scars.
Phelan - I wear an eyepatch for reasons I would rather not specify, and many people fear me because of my family history...I'm a bit of a loner, so I lack in emotional growth as they pertain to relationships.
7. What do you like to do in your spare time?
Luke - Watch The Twilight Zone, eat grape lollis, harass my dearest Gabriel..
Jack - Smoke, brood, write, hang out with Henry.
Henry - Model, hang out with Jack, cook.
Phelan - I don't have much spare time; shepherding is a tough job.  I pop into town every once in a while to get provisions.
8. Do you believe in love?
Luke - Absolutely.
Jack - Yes.
Henry - Yes.
Phelan - I suppose.
9. Why do you hate people?
Luke - I don't.
Jack - I only hate certain ones, those who hurt the ones I care about.
Henry - I generally don't.
Phelan - I don't care enough to hate anyone.
10. How would you kill someone you really hated in a funny and ironic way?
Luke - There's nothing funny about murder.
Jack - I don't do funny when it's something serious like that.
Henry - I wouldn't kill someone.
Phelan - I really don't hate anyone.
11. What would you like to ask me, your creator?
Luke - Would you like to dance?
Jack - Thanks for the addictions.
My grandfather passed away today, around four o'clock this afternoon.
I'm actually okay, totally honestly.  I think I had known it was going to happen, and it hurts that he's gone, but he was suffering.
I'm just glad I was there when he passed.  I was laying in the bed next to his, trying to rest before I had to leave in order to get to work on time.  All of a sudden, my mother said, "He's not breathing!"  So, I reached over to feel his chest, and there was nothing.  The shock was enormous.  I cried a bit, and then I went to go call work to tell them I would not be coming in.  I dropped the phone - my hands were shaking.
It's tough to acknowledge that someone I love so much, someone who took the place of my father, is gone.  He gave me so much, both materially and otherwise.  I cannot begin to express what he meant - and what he still means - to me.
And even though he's gone, I'm all right.  I've been pretty calm for most of the day.  I think I've come to terms with the fact that there is nothing that I can do to change what has happened.  Death does not bother me, but having him gone will still impact me, no doubt.
Downstairs is a house full of relatives.  They are talking and laughing, and I cannot help but think that this is so right.  Mourning and grieving are important...but this community we have is strong, and we will get through this just like we've gotten through similar situations in the past.
To be completely honest, I'm glad this stress is over.  I no longer need to worry about my grandfather because I know he is well.  It is almost a relief that he has broken free.
A beautiful realization dawned on me today.  I was sitting alone with Papi for a little while [prior to his death], as we waited for the nurse to come and check up on him.  The tape in the tape deck stopped, so I flipped it to the other side.  It was an Andrea Boccelli tape, and the first song to play was "Time To Say Goodbye."  It was terrifically symbolic.
Today is also the 43rd anniversary of my grandmother's father's death.  Nonnina said that she lost her two favorite men on the same day.
He waited until she was gone to stop breathing, by the way.
We will all die someday, this much is true.  To quote the Sisters of Mercy, "Memories will last for years,/But names are just for souvenirs..."  The things that Papi did during his lifetime have helped create me, have shaped me into the person I now am.  He has touched so many lives, as evidenced by the voices downstairs.
Papi, I love you.  Thank you for everything.
Red, black, and white is one of my favorite combinations.  And it's cool.  It owns.
[link]  The Jilting  I like the fact that this looks like a photograph in its fullness and use of space.  Also, the sepia-tone feel to it is great.  Excellent colors.  Slightly depressing.
My major problem, other than the fact that GIMP won't save for some reason, is that I SUCK at digital art for the background portrait.
I have one of two options.  Either someone out there is nice enough to help me understand digital art [for which I will be eternally grateful.  My AIM is stormyeaton.], or I do a traditional art and find someone with a scanner.
ALAS.
The pixel art is going to be a challenge, too.
I was also trying to figure out a good weapon.  Possible an overlarge, flaming frying pan.  What'd ya'll think?
WARNING.  IF YOU PLAN ON READING THE FINAL HARRY POTTER NOVEL, AND DO NOT WANT TO READ PLOT SPOILERS, PLEASE DO NOT READ THIS ENTRY.  THANK YOU.
All right.  First of all, I have to admit...Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was not as bad as I had feared.  So, kudos to Rowling for pulling it off.  I give it a four out of five, which is generous, for me.  XD
Regardless of the fact that the book was pretty good, I was still at odds with some parts.  I still say the marriage between Remus and Tonks was not really necessary to the plot, though I rather like the idea of Remus having a son.
Starting from the very beginning though...let's see...Hedwig's and Mad-Eye's deaths were highly unexpected, and rather random.  I didn't cry for them, though they were sad.  Nor did I cry for Dobby, believe it or not, though I got a little depressed.  I think that was the point where I started to realize that she wasn't done killing people.  When Fred died, I started crying in earnest; for some reason, he was my favorite of the twins.  And all I could think of was...how weird is it to lose your twin brother?  What a creepy feeling that must be.
When I found out that Remus died, I'm pretty sure I whimpered.  I also feel like he didn't have big enough a part in this, but I suppose that's because it focused mainly on Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
Amazingly, I didn't cry when Snape died...I think that's because I was expecting it to happen.  BUT HAH!  TO THOSE OF YOU WHO THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY FOR STILL SUPPORTING AND TRUSTING SNAPE!  WHO FOOLED WHOM, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN?!  MORGANA WAS RIGHT!!!  COWER IN MY RIGHTNESS!!!  I adore Severus.  Lucky Lily...then again, I tend to get hot for greasy, gangly men.  XD
Uhh, let's see...the random mentions of Ginny through Harry's longing were vastly unnecessary, and slightly sickening.  XD  Oh, and since when is Cho Chang an ex-girlfriend?  I'm not so sure I would ever have considered the two of them dating in the first place.  Whatever.
Harry being a Horcrux...I must admit, that was slightly obvious.  At least, to me it was.  Though, I had no idea Voldemort supposedly did it unintentionally.
The codenames for Potterwatch were slightly obvious.  Royal?  Romulus?  I guessed immediately who they were, and I was right.  I think it'd be really easy for anyone to guess...especially since Kingsley Shacklebolt supposedly has such a distinct voice.  Gotta love Kingsley.
I also must admit that Harry wasn't as tiresome in this volume as he had been in the previous two.  Perhaps he grew up a little?  Ron irked me a bit, but he totally made up for it.  Hey, adorable, awkward redheads also make me smile, all right?  XD
Speaking of things that make me smile, I LOVE Aberforth.  He's so grouchy and crotchety.  Old, ornery men for the win, folks!
I've come to the conclusion that, possibly with the exception of Molly Weasley, I do not like the way Rowling portrays women.  They're very weepy...even Ginny, not matter what she says.  Very high-strung, very emotional.  And I mean...I can be the same way, but not constantly.
Highlight of the book, though, would have to be Molly Weasley bellowing "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!"  Let's hear it for enraged mothers!  <3
The epilogue was, decidedly, written as a cliche feel-good kinda thing.  HOWEVER.  I love little Albus Severus.  He has the coolest name ever.  XD  I would never name my children Rita and Jason, so the whole...naming after your parents thing, with James and Lily...that weirded me out.  I have to admit, though, the first time I read Albus in the epilogue, I pictured a little boy with half-moon spectacles and white hair.  XD  Hey, Albus does mean "white," you know.  XD  Oh, and...Draco has excellent taste in names.  Scorpius?  HOW TOTALLY COOL IS THAT?!
Speaking of Draco, I'm glad Harry saved him from the inferno.  XD  But seriously...I do have a fondness for the kid, regardless of the fact that he's a prat.
I also came to respect Narcissa in this novel quite a bit.  Lucius, whatever.  I was never too fond of him.  But I like the fact that she put her own son before Voldemort's twisted mission.
Voldemort's death...was a little anti-climatic.  Killing himself with his own Killing Curse...meh.
And the mental meeting with Dumbledore shows that Rowling follows a very distinct pattern...that was...eh.  But I like was Dumbledore said..."Of course this was in your head, but what makes you think that means it wasn't real?"  Something along those lines.  Very nice. =]
I like the fact that Dumbledore has been shown as less-than-godlike.  Definitely Human.  I like that a lot.  I reps...
All right, I've kinda been thinking of costumes for the next convention.  I'll be like this for another month.  XD
One idea is Princess Peach, which I've wanted to do for a really long time.
Another idea...works only if I have a partner.  I'd like to do either Soubi and Ritsuka or Natsuo and Youji from Loveless.  But you know...it's the kind of cosplay that requires couples.  As far as I know, no one else I know really reads Loveless, or has seen the series.  But I've been looking at the ZERO males [Natsuo and Youji], and I love their initial heartlessness, and then their kind of helpless cuteness, not to mention their flagrant passive-aggressiveness.  XD  But you know, dressing as either Ritsuka or Soubi warrants chains and collars, which is also fun.  XD
Any other ideas?  Faye is still in the running, I suppose, though I hate the idea of bright yellow shortshorts and baring my tummy.
Suggestions and commentary are more than appreciated.
  I find it funny that, despite the fact that I'm not like...frequently obsessing over anime and stuff anymore, I still love conventions.  And why not?  Nerdy people getting together with other nerdy people to talk about nerdy things.  FUN!
I'm dressing as Vincent Valentine, at least for Friday and Saturday.  Sunday I might do Jubilee.  Once I finish his cape, perhaps I shall post costume photos.
Yeah.  I don't know what to draw lately, but I reallyreallyreally WANT to draw.  I'm taking requests, not commissions.  I'm not charging, and you don't get a copy unless I personally know you.
Yaay!
There's not much to say, except that I'm sitting at our NEW home computer [], dressed in a polka-dotted skirt and very high red shoes.  Oh, and red lipstick and heavy eyeliner.  I feel wonderfully silly.
Wonderfully silly means ridiculous songs.  Like 'If I Only Were A Goth,' and 'The Masochism Tango,' and maybe even 'The Drunk Scotsman.'  I'll throw in some Nick Cave and Sisters of Mercy for good measure, along with maybe some Concrete Blonde and Abney Park.  I feel gothicky today.
All right, well that's about all.  Haven't been on in a while, but I did update over the weekend, which most people saw.  I'll be in Japan next week [I'm leaving next Thursday!], and I promise pictures from that trip.
Love you all.
Indeed.  Here it goes.
Rules: Each player of this game starts off with 10 weird things/habits/little known facts about yourself. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 10 weird habits/things/little known facts as well as state this rule clearly. At the end you need to choose 10 people to be tagged and list their names. No tagbacks.
#1 -  At night, when I lie in bed, I can't shut my brain off.  I have to lie there and think about things, anything.  I usually start creating scenarios in my head, some of which end up as actual writing, others that just fester somewhere in the recesses of my brain.
#2- I have a collection of fortunes from fortune cookies.  Don't throw yours away!  I'll take it!
#3 -  I also have a very large collection of Pocky boxes.  Mostly strawberry, but I also have a strawberry Hello Kitty box, a green tea box, a couple Pucca boxes...I think I'm just a major junk collector.
#4 - I spend more money on books than on ANYTHING else.
#5 - You can all probably tell, but I know very little about drawing/painting/what have you in and of itself.  I know no techniques; I'm self-taught, which isn't necessarily a good thing.
#6 - Edward Scissorhands still makes me bawl like I did when I watched it as a four-year-old.  Well, it's SAD, damn it!
#7 - I have a sneaking suspicion that under all my Zen-ness and my 'the only person who can make you miserable is yourself'-ness, I'm quite a bitter and angry person.  Not intentionally.  And not a LOT.  But it's definitely there.
#8 - I often think I have problems accepting other peoples' opinions, which I think is absolutely abominable of me.  I'm working on it.
#9 - I'm not smart because I study.  In fact, I hardly ever study.  I hate studying.  I'm a sponge; I soak up information I deem necessary, and that's how I learn.  The subject matter generally needs to interest me, which explains why I'm not doing amazingly in chemistry or algebra at the moment.
#10 - I'm very, very fed up with school.  It's starting to matter less and less, which really bothers me a lot, in more ways than one.  I think part of me is trying to Stick it to The Man, another part is lazy, another is...I hate to use the term depressed, but there's no other way to really describe it...and, I dunno.  People are bothering me too, just in general.
That was actually pretty hard, considering I think I'm pretty much an open book.  I tried to give you all the nitty-gritty, anyway.  You have that Edward Scissorhands bit, if you ever need blackmail.
You all recall the one-hundred pictures challenge, yes?  Well, I didn't stick to that very well, and Lord only knows if I'll continue.  I've been toying with the idea of WRITING each topic, such as Anna does...I still might do that, as well.
...I forgot to tell anyone who watches my stuff here on deviantArt about this.  I'm sorry.
On the twelfth of December, my friend Felicia committed suicide.  I'm sure a lot of people are all like...rolling their eyes, saying things like 'Well there goes another emo kid...blahblahblah...'
I'm going to tell you right now to shut the fuck up.
Felicia had psychological problems due to a very complicated past.  She was abandoned by her mother as a toddler.  When she was older, she was adopted by a foster family, and then given up for adoption again.  Her present family didn't have the means to get her the help she needed.
So she shot herself.
She didn't do it for attention.
She did it to get the Hell out.
So don't talk to me about why people commit suicide.  Don't talk to me like you know what it feels like to lose someone you had JUST spoken to, only two days earlier.
I'm sorry this turned into something as angry as it has...I just meant to inform.  But I do know how some people react, and I don't want that to happen.  Felicia deserves better.  I've already heard people say nasty things, not because they didn't like her, but because they're completely ignorant.  Things like this:
'You gotta have a lot of balls to shoot yourself in the head...'
and...
'What did she look like?  I mean, besides the hole in her head...'
And then I have people telling my mother to watch out for me, to keep an eye on me.  People are actually afraid I'd do the same thing!
I don't feel guilty.  No one can ever forsee these things.  It only takes a minute to take your life.
Felicia, I love you.  I know, by now, I don't cry as much, and I don't think about it as much.  It's still painful to think about, though.
The weirdest thing to understand is that you're underground.  You're buried in the dirt.  We bury our pain, we bury our dead.  I will neer see you again.  Ever.  Not on Earth, anyway.  Not in this Life.  I just hope you've gained the peace you searched for, and the love you needed.
In Memory of Felicia Judy Perugini.
Indeed!
It started off with my favorite teacher telling me she has a piece of jewelry she wants me to have before she retires.  Sweetest thing ever. =]
Got our class ranks today.  I'm number fifteen, which is alright.  What I was mainly concerned with was my GPA, which I'm happy to exclaim is a 99.09.  So I'm happy about that.  =]
Then, I had an interview with a lady who needs an illustrator.  I think I have a very good chance of getting that job.
And, since that meeting was at Barnes & Noble, I bought...get this...THREE NEW BOOKS!  :
Two of Pratchett's DiscWorld novels, and Gaiman's BRAND SPANKIN' NEW 'Fragile Things,' which I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited about.
PLUSPLUS!
has granted me permission to draw her lovely character, Boo.
Hah, I haven't done any homework yet.  Today is too cool for homework.
Andandanddd...tomorrow is K'Ehleyr's birthday.  My sister, that is, not the Star Trek character she's named for.
I think Gaiman is exciting me right now.  He's calling to me from the green B&N bag.  Luring.  He's LURING ME.
So.  I might do a little homework.
AND THEN I SHALL READ.
I'm not sure if I've already officially stated this, but I'm definitely absolutely going to Japan come April Vacation.  My first payment is due 4 August.  I'm so excited.
But you know what sucks..?  Now I have to sit and wait until a week or two after my birthday [when I told Mommy that I'd be seventeen by the time I went, she almost died.  Seventeen seems so much older than sixteen to me.  I always wanted to be seventeen.] Tahaa. =]
Mommy said she wants to get me luggage for Christmas.  I told her either red or plaid.   I really want the red Hello Kitty luggage from the Sanrio store in NYC, but that's probably a bit expensive.
I need to look at the paper that tells where we'll be going and stuffs.  I hope we go to Harajuku; I was looking at pictures last night, and I fell in love.  As one of the sites said, 'In Harajuku, every day is Halloween.'  I would kill to dress up every day.  Tahaa...theatrical make-up is glorious. =]
Gaaah.  I'm still excited and I don't want to wait until April.  But, like Mommy said, Junior year is busy, so hopefully I'll be able to contain my excitement long enough. =]
Probably not, though.
This morning at work, I was all like...I'm tired, I don't want to be here...BUT I'M GOING TO JAPAN.
God, I cannot wait.
Title taken from a Tom Waits song of the same name.  I've had it in my head nearly all day.
I know I really suck at using it, but I have the urge to sit down and actually draw Luke.  My Angel.  You know.  =]
Mainly because of certain booksellers [wow, I almost wrote boysellers.  I wish.], do I want to draw Luke.  I've found someone who reminds me insanely of him, and I just have the URGE.
Suppose I'll have to go traditional, eh..?
Anyway. Just thought I'd let everyone know...
Oh, and I may or may not be posting new writing soon.  We'll see if I actually start writing anything first.  I was thinking along the lines of a poem, the opening being something like...'I want to dress you up in tails and take you dancing.'  I don't know why I keep thinking that's already a lyric or something, and maybe it is.  Who knows.
Today is the day of uber-blogging.
I blogged on MySpace for at LEAST half an hour.
A good portion of it was  complaining, the other good portion being taken up by obsessive girliness over my Luke-alike [Luke-alike, look-alike, get it..?  Corny, I know.].  Yessss.
Ohgracious.  I am so tired, and it's way too early in the morning for writing, but I thought I should update.
I was at the CTcon yesterday, and am going again today.   Aaah, it's fun stuffs, man.  I've been dressing as Death, of course, and will post pictures of other cosplayers and myself, so no fear. =]
So far, I've bought....
~A deck of Gundam Wing trading cards.
~A Gundam Wing CD.
~A Duo pin for my sister.
I unintentionally bought all GW stuff.  Today, I plan on buying that action figure of Vincent Valentine from Advent Children.  Twenty-five bucks isn't that bad, honestly.  Sephiroth's thirty, Tifa's twenty, and Cloud with his bike's seventy-five.  So, I kinda picked the reasonable one, I think.  Besides.  It's Vincent.    [And yes, I realize I still need to watch Advent Children.  Shutup, I can still adore Vincent, no matter which one he's from.    Come to think of it, maybe I'll see if I can find the Advent Children DVD somewhere.  Tahaa.]
Last year, I spent twenty-five on that Sandrock model of mine, that falls apart consistently.  Somehow, I think that something already assembled would be a better investment.
I wanted to buy a key necklace and a Heartless hat, both from Kingdom Hearts, for my sister.  Unfortunately, both items were about...thirty dollars each, and that was like...WOOOOAH.  I bought her that pin, though, which she loves. =]
Ooooh.  I also want to get a fan.  There were some really pretty ones with writing on them.  I want the one that says 'wolf.'  That one's nine bucks.  Then there's another kind of fan I might get for my sister, which is six dollars. =]
Anyway.  That's all for now, because I have to get dressed and ready to go.  I'm probably going to get there around ten/ten-thirty ish.  =]=]
Yes.  A post that was originally supposed to be on MySpace.  But whateverrr.
Rainy Days and Mondays..?  Try Wednesdays.
Today is such a totally weird day.  Appropriately, I read the entirety of Slaughterhouse Five, by Kurt Vonnegut, which is a weird book.  Very good.  Scary.  I think it made me a little angry.  I'm totally anti-war, which is probably why.
Yeah.  The other day I read the entirety of Sourcery, by Terry Pratchett.  Completely different kind of book, but excellent nonetheless.  I can read a book in a day.  I've read four books already this month.
All this reading has made me think about my own personal writing.  Which, of course, I haven't been doing too much of, which is kind of sad.  Right now, I'm looking for creative writing prompts online.  Nothing wrong with a bit of a nudge.  If I write some good stuff, I get more literary magazine space for next year.  I have five things in it this year; most people are only allowed two.  I feel special.
Some prompts are really hokey.  Stupid.  Childish, reused ideas.  Boring.
This one's interesting: I will tell you a story that is only half true.  My only problem would be that I'd have to think of a half-true story, and I'm a pretty bad liar.  Pity.  It's a good idea.  Maybe when I'm a little firmer with my writing.
There will be peace on Earth only when...
Huh.  Only when Humanity dies out, probably.  As pessimistic as that all sounds, war is very much a part of Human Nature.  Though, if you ask me, it's rather easy to be nonviolent.  But that's just my personality.
I once had a scary dream.
Once, twice, a million times.  This is probably a good one for me.  If the majority of my dreams weren't so...scattered and crazy, I'd try to write more of them.  As it is, they're pretty much insane.
I just can't seem to get along with anyone.
Hahaa.  I'm not sure how I feel about this one.
This is my family.
I was actually thinking of doing something like this.  I might still.  Besides, I still have to write My Grandfather's Goat, and Other Tales from Palmoli.  I need a book for Nonnina, too.  And a tape recorder.
Due to the raven that follows him wherever he goes, a young man is convinced that something terrible is about to happen.
Now THAT is pretty interesting.
You've finally snapped. Stress has gotten the better of you, and you can no longer think in long descriptive sentences. Write about the day you lost your mind, using sentences comprised of six words or fewer.
Eeeeeeasy.  I write briefly much of the time, anyway. =]
Write about a noiseor a silence that won't go away.
Overdone, I think.  By me, anyway.  I talk too much about silence.
Your pet goat is missing. There are eight likely, yet extremely different, suspects. Describe each suspect in detail, his motive and how the "goatnapping"? occurred.
Hahaa.  I should tell Poppi about this.  Good material for My Grandfather's Goat.
Something's rotten in your refrigerator. Write a scene in which the condiments residing in the door shelves plot to take over the prime real estate on the top shelf, front and center. Will milk be spilled? (And who'll be crying?)
I'm reminded of Cowboy Bebop.  Toys in the Attic, anyone..?
Remember the Vogon poetry reading scene from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? Have a go at writing the worst poem in the universe.
This one's intelligent.  I LOVE YOU, DOUGLAS.  Which reminds me.  In some morbid, insane way, Vonnegut's style in Slaughterhouse Five reminds me of Adams.  Which is odd, because those books are completely different.  Maybe it's the sci-fi mention..?  I dunno.
One of your fictional characters was in an accident and won't survive the night. Write the character's obituary for tomorrow's paperinclude relatives, accomplishments, work history, etc.
This is an interesting concept.  But it means I'd have to kill someone off.  And think of a way of doing it.  Damn.
Take a dictionary dip: Open the dictionary at random and point to a word. Compose a short personal essay using this word at least once.
That's a good one.  Watch, I'd end up with a word like albatross.
Who would you like to have been in a past life? Who would you have hated to be? Write a scene of dialogue between those two.
The Past Life idea is interesting.
You're stranded in a library or bookstore for 24 hours. In what section do you spend the most time? Why?
I'd kill for twenty-four hours with books!  The damage I could do, I swear...I'd be good at this one.
Two characters meet in a bar. Write about their meeting without using any dialogue. Now write the same scene using dialogue only.
Tha...
Baah.  I've submitted, for the second time, a request-thinger to join Elfwood.  No, I don't know why.  It takes so freaking long just to apply.  There are SO many rules.  And I understand that rules are important, and so on and so forth...but a few of them seem a little ridiculous to me.  Why make it just a scifi/fantasy art gallery..?  I mean...there's so much more to art than all that...seriously...but whatever.  I've submitted the request, and now have to wait for a reply.  What I really want on Elfwood, I think, is a FanQuarter gallery.  Because my fanart is oodles better than my original characters, I think...
Just so you know, chances are I won't get this account, for the second time.  I'm way too liberal for Elfwood...  Besides, I like devArt better.  I think there are more options and such and such here.
Anyway.  My art rambling for today.  Just so you all know, for those of you who actually look at my work, I'm adding another crow to my little gang.  A female this time (I can hear the arteries clanging shut as people die of shock and heart attacks.  Scary, I know.).  Her name's Morrigan.  Please, like you weren't expecting this.  I need to work on my wolf tribe-thinger, and a few other animals.  I can't think of any wolf names besides Fenrir.  Oh, I suppose there's always Remus and Romulus...gracious, but I feel like I'm stealing all of J.K. Rowlings's characters...
Woohooo!!  I have a stalker!  Granted...she's somebody I've met in person...damnit.  Still, I'm happy, man.  Thank you, Shannon, my dear!  ^_^
Connecticon was mucho-fun.  I'm going to miss it.  My Haruko costume came out better than expected, but I still want a cooler costume for next year.  OH!  And the human chess game was in the Hartford Courant!!  *dances like a maniac*  IT was THE MOST AMUSING game I've ever seen.  I love it when two chicks cosplay as two dudes and then make out in front of a live audience.  Nothing better than that.  Honestly.  Thank you, ladies who cosplayed as Yuki and Shuichi of Gravitation fame.  You made me a very happy girl.  Damn, but I should've taken a picture, man!
Anywho...as for next year's costume...I may be Quatre (Gundam Wing, of course) because he's a cutie, and I love him, or Vincent Valentine Final Fantasy VII, peoples...play some damn video games, man...), because if I'm not something cute, I wanna be something dark and brooding...that wears a CAPE!  Yessah.  And I wanna join the chess tournament next year.  If I'm Quatre, I can go all 'Zero-System' on everybody's ass (and I'm going to have to build myself a pair of kick-ass heat shotels, too...), and if I'm Vincent I can whip out my gun (oh dear...) and blast the opponent outta the way.
Speaking of the heat shotels, though, I bought myself a beautacious Sandrock model.  Built it yesterday.  Smaller than I expected, yes, but totally awesome.  And it comes with a little Quatre (which I have yet to paint...)!!  How awesome ish that?!  Heehee...  Yes, somehow the Connecticon means Gundam Wing to me.  I dunno.  That's just the way I work.  Yupyup...and happee belated birfday to Bethness, because she rocks my fox, and her costume was outrageous.  OH!  And....I LOVE YOU, DANCING VASH, WHEREVER THE HELL YOU ARE!!!  Damn, he was awesome.  I'll pay him a dollar to dance anytime, man (and I'm not just saying that because he dipped me, either...heehee....^_~)!!
Yes, Connecticon ish this weekend.  Yes, I am going.  Yes, I will be cosplaying as Haruko from FLCL.  Yes, my costume is crappy.  No, I don't particularly care anymore.
I'm tired.  I woke up at twenty of seven this morning, to come here to my grandparents' house.  Later, I'm gonna go see 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' (yaay) with Sara.  I cannot wait.  *whee*  I'll be sleeping over her house for the next two nights.  And I don't have NEARLY enough cash for the con.  I need a freakin' job, damnit.
In other news, I finished 'American Gods' quite a while ago.  It's an excellent book.  Damn.  Having read a book like it, I have affirmed my desire to write.  I'm also highly intimidated.  Jeez.  Anyway...that's it for now, I think.  Ciao.
London has been bombed.  King's Cross Station has been a scene of mass deaths.  I think I'm depressed.  Actually, it's sad how unfased I am by the whole thing.  I've decided I should mourn.  Not because I'm British, or because it's the right thing to do (both of which are true, but still), but because it really is very, very sad.
I hope to God that things work out well, I honestly do.  Supposedly, it was dangerous to go to the Middle East because of terrorism.  Will it be as dangerous to go to England?  Because, honestly, everywhere on Earth is equally at dangerous; there is a chance of mass bombing anywhere.  I think that, maybe, the World really will go to war.  I think there are people out there who are trying to instigate a war.  I would say I'm scared, but it's hard to be scared, here in America, because of all the distractions we have.  We can't imagine what it's like to be part of a society that breaks out in a civil war just after the last one was settled.  We can't fully understand poverty, because even the impoverished in our society can use a public toilet or sleep in a shelter.  America doesn't understand war in its truest form, I don't think.  It understands going to some OTHER country, killing, bombing, winning.  We are looking at our World with rose-colored glasses.
I am now going to go on and post this entry in all of my blogs, so that more people can read it.  I think it's important.  I really, truely do.  I just wish there was something I could do that'd make a real difference, other than writing a few small paragraphs and posting them on the Internet.  I don't want a war.  I just want all the killing to stop.  Even though, in some sense, a war would be somewhat...exciting, I suppose (so long as I'm not fighting in it), I still wish I could prevent it from happening.  I hope my writing can convince some other people, as well.
Yes, well...I'm sure whoever actually views my page has noticed the new ID.  It's me!  Yessir, me.  Aren't I just a prettyful little thang?  Yup.  Anyway, I want everyone (cue crickets) to know, honestly, I love getting comments and talking.  I know I don't have much, and it's not that great at the moment, but more will be coming soon...even if you have something negative to say, I want to know.  Criticize me, tell me I'm sick, do whatever you please; I'm starting to get slightly desparate for Human contact.
On another note, I've already read three and a half books this summer, even though I have no Summer Reading List (which pisses me off, trust me).  I've read the following:
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
~Douglas Adams
NASTYbook
~Barry Yourgrau
I Am Mordred
~Nancy Springer
I am currently reading 'American Gods,' by Neil Gaiman, which is an excellent book.  I highly, highly recommend it.  Anywho.  That's it for now.
At night a kid lies listening in his bed.  He listens to the sounds on the roof.  Astonishing sounds.  There's a slithery screech - like flat fiberglass sliding down a roof angle.  Then a pause - then a crunching thud.  Like little wheels landing on roof tiles.
Or sometimes a long, bumpy takeoff rumble, straight down the tiles.  Then a long pause. . .that never ends.
The sounds are whispery, feathery.  Ghostly.
As if there were some kind of skateboarders up on the roof!  Whizzing around in the dark, three and a half stories above the ground.  But how could that be?  Doesn't anyone else in the house notice?  Brian (that's the kid's name) decides to go up and check.
He edges out of bed carefully so no one will hear.  Stealthily he pads down the hall and up the attic stairs.  And out onto the roof.
In the moonlight, dim slender figures go gliding.
Their dark stocking caps are drawn low over their ears and eyes, their long dark T-shirts flutter over their pale, pale skin.  One of them gives amazed Brian a cool thumbs-up, and then jets off across the slope of the roof, catches air over a window gable, hits a lazy 360 turn, lands and rides on down, cutting out finally at the rain gutter.  Another kid shoots stright down the tiles, right to the edge - and sails away, out into the trees!  Just sails away into the darkness. . .
Brians crouches, shaking his head, laughing in awe.  Whoever these kids are, they're masters.  Masters.
He watches another one of them blast along, barrel up the side of the chimeny, overspin his somersault - and wipe out over the side of the roof.  Everyone just looks and grins.
Brian wipes his sleeve across his lips, swallowing hard.  A pale kid glides up and claps him on the shoulder.
"Hey man, gonna join us tonight, huh?" he says.  And he grins in a way that says, "All right!"
Brian grins back, with a shrug.  "Didn't bring my board," he explains.
"So what's that?" smiles the kid, and he points.  At Brian's skateboard, right there beside him.  With a little amazed laugh, Brian takes hol dof it.  He looks out at the scene around him, and he laughs again, nervously.  "Sure looks like an easy way to end up dead!" he gulps.  The kid chuckles at this, merry and scornful, so pal eunder his dark low stocking cap.  He cackles something.
"Well?" he then demands.  As if to say: Are you just good, or are you great?
Brian takes a deep breath.  He springs up and throws down his board and leaps on.  His heart pounds as he chutes down the roof tiles, trying to take his place among these masters.  He gulps as the rain gutter looms up - and he shoots out, into the night!
His figure seems to hang in space, a silhouette against the face of the moon.  It's an amazing ride, an INHUMAN ride.  Brian whoops, ecstatically, on and on.  And understands now what it means for him, the pale kid's snigger right before he launched:
"Man, how can we end up dead if we're all that way already?"
