Mazel tov and merry Christmas to all you schmucks. I finally got myself my beautiful new camera, the amazing Nikon D40. It's my baby, and I love it very much.

So from now on, I'll be doing my best to upload a new shot every week or so. To celebrate my return, I bring 2 new shots. If I could figure out links in dA, I would, but for now I'll just direct you to my gallery. >.>

These shots are a landscape and a portrait. The landscape is a recovery from a memory card that went missing over the summer, and the portrait was taken today, exiting the F train on the south side of Central Park.

I'm also working on a new deviantID, considering that the one I'm currently using is 8 months old and is in need of a fixer upper. It might actually look nice this time around, eh? XD

On a side note, I am now the owner of a Bamboo Fun tablet, which is quite fun to use, even for simply navigating and writing.

I'm sorry I've been so inactive in the last... six months? Ow. Sounds worse saying it out loud. I've sadly had a sort of lolcamerasuicide, with both my digital and my ancient auto. Would've gotten a new one, but as of late, most people know how tight money is, for everyone.

On the bright side, the holidays are coming up, and I am getting a new camera. I've gotten a nice piece of advice from SilentJi, on the model to get, and hopefully I'll be opening a Nikon D40 before the ball drops in Times Square.

EDIT: I'd like to also add to this journal a link to my newest portrait ([link]). It's more a photojournalistic shot than a portrait, but oh well.

First off, I'd like to thank the people who took a look at the first piece of photography I submitted as a decent deviation ([link]). I'm truly happy that I can show people the world through my eyes.

Secondly, there's the Orphan Works Bill that's being pondered by Congress, and has most of dA (and artists all over) a little crazy. I admit, it did get me scared upon my first reading about it, in Mark Simon's article ([link]). I also read =Luna-V's thoughts on the subject ([link]), and =Joshi38's ([link]). They all bring up some decent points. Before you pass judgment on this bill, I urge you to at least read the response from one of the bill's authors (in =Joshi38's article). I still have not decided my opinion on this matter, and I hope that nobody else blindly picks a side without knowing the facts.

Politically, I'd like to point out that America is royally screwed. Democrats are splitting themselves between Hill-Billary and Obama, and by the end, the winner of their primary will go against McCain. I see America's only hope being John McCain dropping dead from old age before the presidential election this fall. >____>

On a lighter note, I'd like to point out that my Rockman site ([link]) or ([link]) is almost done with a visual guide, and we hope to have it up for public viewing by the end of the month!

Favorite fighter: R.O.B.
ROB is awesome. He's a robot with rockets and lazurs comin' from his eyes. His EYES! Plus he can fly. ^_^

Favorite Stage: Tough one, really. I prefer some of the custom built stages I made, but I think that Shadow Moses Island and Mushroomy Kingdome are my current favorites. The mayhem that occurs on SMI is just a load of fun for me, and the Mushroomy Kingdom's side scrolling effect is just a really nice addition.

Favorite New Item: Not the smash ball. Funny, huh? It's really not that great, y'know. *waits with a baseball bat for Brawl fanboys* I like the Pitfall for the fact that you can just drop people out of the sky, and the cracker launcher because it make lots of explosions. 'Nuff said. >_>;;


EDIT: Yeah, I know this should have something artsy related in here. Kinda been in a slump for the past few weeks. I made a couple banners for sites, and I'll be posting 'em sometime this weekend. Currently, I'm on Mid-Winter Recess, also known as one of the few things that Bloomberg & Klein haven't ruined. It's basically a week off in February to compensate keeping us in school 'til the end of June.

Moving on from my naming issues, I suppose I'll tell a little about myself.

Name's Evan, or Wisher. I'm a student photographer, with the majority of my good work in landscapes. I'm a Gimp user. Most of my Gimp stuff is forum sigs, although I'm trying my hand at vectoring renders. I only picked up Gimp a few months ago, so I'm not that good. I also forgot, I have a large stash of userbars. I'm a bit obsessed with those things. >_>;;

Politics: I hate Bush. Obama's got no experience. Hilary's 'experience' is a lie. Giuliani's got no chance in hell. Huckabee is a religious nut. McCain actually seems okay, and this comes from a Democrat.
