        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ This week we have Cory Walker's take on Rambo.  This came as a bonus for buying his sketchbook.  (Gotta love bonuses like that!)<br /><br />This week I became a backer for Lady Sabre & The Pirates of the Ineffable Aether Vol. 1 by Greg Rucka and Rick Burchett.  I've been a fan of both Greg and Rick (separately) for years.  When they teamed up for Lady Sabre, I knew we were in for a treat.  I'm not a huge fan of web comics, so I was extremely happy to see a print version of Lady Sabre.  I wasn't alone.  Greg and Rick blasted past their goal of $27,500 in a single day.  So far they've tripled that goal and continue to add additional materials / stretch g ]]></media:text>

        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ Mike Torrance makes an unprecedented third week in a row appearance in my Stallone Sketch Collection Gallery.<br /><br />Last weekend I attempted to book a room at the Westin for Heroes Con.  They were sold out.  A couple of calls later and I decided to go ahead and book a room at the Hampton.  It's a nice hotel -- offers a free breakfast and is actually cheaper than the Westin.  I also ordered my ticket for the show.  So all that is handled.<br /><br />Now I've started working through the guest list narrowing down who I should approach for a sketch.  Man, the guest list gets bigger each year.  Unfortunately my con budget doesn't.<br /><br />Until next weekend... ]]></media:text>

        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ Mike Torrance is back!<br /><br />I went to MegaCon last weekend.  For the first time since I can remember, I was a bit disappointed.  I still had fun, but just not as much.  Usually, Beatty and I hang at his table (when I'm not scouting for Stallone sketch artists).  This year, John didn't stay in Orlando and was late getting to the show on Friday and Saturday.  Also, I didn't find any new artists for sketches.<br /><br />Ron Salas and Shawn Surface came through like bosses!  Ron gave me a riff on Sly as Jimmy Bobo and Shawn rocked Stallone from Nighthawks.  I also met Franc Rayes.  He is a super-talented former comic book/Disney artist who has decided to come  ]]></media:text>

        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ Robin Holstein makes his second appearance in my Stallone Sketch Gallery.  I somehow forgot that this piece had never been posted -- I got it at Heroes Con 2011 and it was one of my favorite pieces from the show.<br /><br />Last night the UFC had free fights on.  The prelims started on FX at 5pm and ran until 8.  Then at 8 the main event was shown on FOX.  It was a great night of fights.  Hopefully the ratings were good and we'll see more fight cards that run on both channels.<br /><br />I'm looking forward to the Super Bowl and am pulling for the 49ers since my buddy is Joe Staley's cousin.<br /><br />It's about time to start thinking about booking rooms for MegaCon and  ]]></media:text>

        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ Alexis Ziritt makes his first appearance in my Stallone Sketch Theme Gallery, but it won't be his last.<br /><br />Sons of Anarchy has never been better.  Each episode turns the screws a bit more.  In last week's episode a major character (and my favorite on the show) was killed.  The death was brutal and will have ramifications through the rest of the series.  I can't wait to see the next episode.  THAT's great television.<br /><br />Speaking of great television, the new season has started and it's great to see returning favorites (Modern Family, The Mentalist, Survivor, etc) and the potential of new series (Last Resort and Elementary, to name but two).  I'm al ]]></media:text>

        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ Lance Sawyer takes us to Cop Land this week.<br /><br />I'm back from seeing LOCK OUT and I absolutely loved it.  Think Escape from New York in Space and you've got an idea of what to expect.  Guy Pearce was perfect as Snow, there's plenty of action, just the right amount of humor and a prison full of the worst convicts imaginable.  Tell me that's not the right combo for a Sunday outing.<br /><br />I just started reading Jonathon Maberry's The Dragon Factory.  It's the second in his Joe Ledger series and so far I am digging it.   It looks like Maberry has another winner.<br /><br />Justified's season finale was pretty close to perfect.  I love how they always put a twist  ]]></media:text>

        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ This week Dan Panosian makes a return visit.  Dan is an amazing artist and he's a true Stallone fan.  It's hard to beat that combo.<br /><br />Last week John Beatty and I made our annual trip to MegaCon.  It was one of the most fun MegaCons in recent memory.  It was great hanging out with Big Beatty.  We don't get to do that near as much any more.<br /><br />Bob McLeod was sketching at the table next to us.  It's always great to see Bob.<br /><br />John Higashi was at the show and he put in a good word with Phil Hester for me.  Beatty and I also got to have dinner and hang out on Saturday night with Higashi -- which is always a blast.<br /><br />I got to talk to Paul Gulacy and tha ]]></media:text>
