Watergate Salad - Over all the whole year has been pretty good (sweet and crunchy apples), but there have been some sour parts, like when we had to put down a dog, a cat, and a horse all this summer (grapes) and the nuts are driving me a little batty.

9. What one item in the kitchen best describes you and your personality? Metal mixing bowl. I feel like I'm one of the mainstays that always gets used and always gets to be a part of the process, but doesn't always get the flash and credit - and doesn't really care either. Thanks for noticing it.

AIDS is a horrible disease. Just because modern medicine is able to suppress some of the symptoms and increase the life expectancy, that doesn't make it any less of a horrible disease.

And it is a disease that you can keep yourself from getting most of the time.

I can't believe the sheer number of people who have this disease because they didn't use protection.
