It's as if they really took cameras to this place. So detailed and real looking.

Very emotional, intense, and entertaining.

Wow. Between family and work yesterday just went by so fast!

It was a very audio Christmas indeed because I got:

-32gb iPod Touch
-Headphones
-and a Studio Projects B1 Mic

Here's the sucky thing. I got this amazing microphone, but I cant use it!

Apparently I need a preamp to use it on my computer, so until I get that my awesome mic is useless!

It has a nice case, though.

So yeah I just saw The Princess and the Frog.

Let's ignore story and plot for a second.

The animation? BEAUTIFUL.

Seriously I have faith that Disney will bring back good 2D animated films.

I was just amazed by the animation at all times. I was practically staring at the screen to see all the eye pleasing scenes.

Now then. The story.

Some people were complaining about it but I thought it was good.

It was your classic Disney storyline, where the chick and the dude fall in love, but it was still good.

Great characters, and some emotional bits.

Wont spoil anything because I definitely recommend you guys go see it.

And Doctor Facilier. He was really cool. He's definitely going up there with the top Disney Villains. The way he spoke and his body language. It was unique, paired with his shadow, that acted independent of him.

So yeah! Cool beans! Thought Id just talk about it since it was an animated film and I go gaga over animated stuff.

It's almost Christmas! AAAAAAAA

When I went to school today it was pouring.

I looked around and I saw everyone using umbrellas, including myself.

Is it wrong that I thought about Animal Crossing?

Now I really want to bust my copy out, if only time would allow me to sit there and pull weeds all day.

Now then. The art/ school news.

I have one week left and then finals. After that Ill be free to make the arts. Ill probably be doing alot of holiday art.

As for animating I should be done for the year after making ~DunderAxel's birthday flash.

Hopefully we'll all start fresh in January and I can make some neat things.

RRRRRRGH Hey guys I need some help with Flash exporting!

I want to upload one of my flashes to Youtube, but I can't!

Youtube doesn't take .swf's (the file type I use here). It takes .flv's!

And I can't export my movie as an .flv. That's okay though. I have a converter that SHOULD convert .mov's to .flv's.

Here's the problem.

Every time I try to export as a Quiktime, it stops at this point.



And goes no further.

What it should do is load a few more things like compression and be done, but no! It just stops there. And never goes on.

Can anyone help me? Im using Flash CS4 on a Mac. Please?

Also...sickness.

For the last 4 days I had the stomach flu. I did nothing but sit in bed. I even had to go to the hospital! Fun times.

By the way guys. Dehydration is a big deal. Never undermine it. I had to get an IV to rehydrate myself!

Im feeling alot better now. And what do I get to do now? Catch up on homework!

Ahh. I just finished watching it.

I have to say. Despite the lazy, stock footage riddled nonsense of the current anime, Pokemon still makes really good movies.

Honestly. They put so much more work into these. It's obvious.

Now then. Arceus. He is so cool in this movie.

All I've known of him before this was an icon on a DS. He's number 493. Yup. Cool.

But in the movie he's awesome. His voice seemed weird at first but it worked.

And it's one thing for Palkia and Dialga to fight in the Darkrai movie. Yeah. Or for Giratina to fight in the Shaymin movie. Cool, sure.

But Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina, all teaming up to fight Arceus?

MY GOD.

Sorry but the Pokemon nerd fanboy in me loves to see legendaries fight. I mean, come on, I was all giddy for the three seconds they show Lugia in the opening.

Also. Nidokings. Yup. Nuff said.

So. Please excuse my little Pokemon outburst. I just realize that now that Arceus is in a movie they'll need NEW GAMES to make more.

Unless they make a Heart Gold and Soul Silver movie... More Lugia? I would be happy. VERY. Happy.

And Ill say it! If they make a new game and there's 107 new Pokemon (making the total 600), then you better believe I'd buy it!

I am under the corporate curse of buying those games and I love every bit of it.

Now then. Art news.

One month left of classes. It's time to crack down.

So Im sorry if there's little art until school's over. I need to work on all of these finals!

Ah. Good movie.

We just busted out a bunch of Disney classics. On VHS, baby!

So we just watched Emperor's. I miss the Disney classics.

I just love the traditional 2D animation. So awesome.

I miss the days of good animation.

Hopefully Disney's new "Princess and the Frog" brings back the good old fashioned 2D greatness.

I think they should just bring it back. That would be awesome.

I dont know, just thought I'd bring up the good times of animation. Enough of this 3D stuff.

We always have to look back at the good stuff!

Well scratch that.

See, I was making a Madness flash for Madness Day over at Newgrounds.

But...I was hating it so much. I was tweening it all, just testing it out.

And let me say this.

TWEENING. SUCKS.

Don't get me wrong. A few tweens here and there is fine.

But when you try to tween the whole thing? No.

I was also going to make a flash for the Talk Like A Pirate Day contest. I may do it still, but not for the deadline. (2 days from now)

So. I'm just going to have fun, and animate whatever I want, without worrying about deadlines. It seems more fun that way.

My "Presentation Graphics" class is FULL of iMacs. It's beautiful.

So my Sands of Abeyance Audition is looking good. Regardless of how far or not I get in the tournament, Im really wanting to do some SDL stuff. So when I can I want to start dueling. Or at least make an intro for my character. I know it's not necessary, but I'd like to turn my duels into a kind of story.

And at some point ~monkichiro and I will make an SDL team. So yeah. That's fun.

EDIT:
I think I found it. It may be this single frame. Frame 678. It locks up whenever I hit that frame. Before and after run fine though. Is THAT fixable?

AND 677? Hm. Maybe it's the LAYER that's a problem...

Flash has frozen on me 5 times today. I only play it for like a second, then it freezes, then it locks up. I then have to force quit it.

I tried to copy all frames of my flash and put it into a new Flash file. Still froze. May be just this part but this is enough. I did the updates. And it didnt help.

Any tips? Im about to uninstall Flash and reinstall. Hopefully that might work.

Great title, I know.

Now then I will just put this disclaimer so no one yells at me.

This isn't directed at anyone.

I love the internet, don't get me wrong.

It's just really annoying when you can't contact anyone.

I'm working on a big project. And I have quite a few people helping me out in one way or another.

I have contacted all of those people.

Almost all of them never replied.

And it's been over a week on some of them.

Now then. I respect people's personal lives. Heck, I work all the time so Im not here all the time.

It's just bothersome when I cant start on a project. Im sitting here waiting, and no one responds.

But who knows? It could be a huge miscommunication, because it seems like no one responds to notes recently.

Maybe there's a bug on dA and my notes dont go through?

Who knows.

Making a flash can be hard guys. When questions need to be answered, and you're waiting on voice actors.

Well, Im done complaining about something pointless.

Anyway...Hey guys! I graduated on Thursday! Twas awesome!

And then I went to Grad Nite. We had Knott's Berry Farm all to ourselves! But no Ghostrider...

The thing that sucks is that I dont feel like school's over. I don't feel like summer's here. All I can think about is how I wont see some of my friends like at all...or barely. Sucks.

I put a lot of hard work into it so thank you all.

Keep in mind Im less known on Newgrounds. I dint get front page, but I almost got an award. I got daily 7th, and I was like .02 away from getting Daily 5th.

I know this isnt really that much but it means alot to me.

Alright. Well that was a fun night. Despite the uncomfortable chairs, hunger, and sitting there for 2 hours, it was fun.

No but seriously I enjoyed myself.

My school had this awards night, that was invite only. If you were invited you were guaranteed an award. I was invited.

I kind of had an idea of what it is, since my animation teacher had semi-spoiled it for me.

Regardless! I got the:

Visual and Performing Arts Department Achievement in Digital Animation

It's an honor, really. This award means that I am the top animator. It means so much to me.

I dressed all fancy, was called up, shook their hand, and received my plaque. I got a freaking plaque.

Yes. I wore a tie. *choke*

Im happy.

And guess what? What better news with this than to tell you that I finished a new flash! I still need to do the extras but the main flash is done. Expect that sometime soon, along with another surprise.

We just experienced an earthquake in SoCal.

It was a 5.0.

Im a little shaken up, and no that's not a pun. I was freaking out and now Im trying to settle down.

They announced the aftershock so I dont have to worry about that, but I still am a little uptight.

Hey guys. I just wanted to say something about the birthday flashes I make.

When I make these they are usually spur of the moment. Like Ill see a journal and say: "Hey! Ill make em a flash!"

BUT! One other criteria I use is my relationship with them. Whether they're a good friend IRL or on dA. Or even if they're just really awesome.

Now then. Even if they meet that criteria, it does not mean they're guaranteed a birthday flash. It all depends on my mood and whether Im busy or not.

Take my newest one, for example.



Oryozema is one my "flash buddies". Him, along with Dunderaxel and Chadsweb, are the people who I talk to about Flash the most.

BUT! If I was busy then I wouldnt be able to make him one.

So what Im trying to say is that if you watch me or I watch you and you make a journal about your birthday, PLEASE done get discouraged if I dont make you a flash.

This journal is not directed at any specific person I just felt the need to write it.

Haha I just watched the Transformers movie. THE ORIGINAL. THE FIRST. NOT MICHAEL BAY'S.

Dont get me wrong I love the spectacular new ones with their incredible special effects, but the original is something that all Transformer fans need to watch.

My god it is incredible.

I wonder how long it took them, considering the sheer amount of detail and action in the movie.

Honestly there were lasers, and explosions and transforming every other second.

It felt good seeing it and remembering all of the good times from the original series. It's really sad that Optimus dies but the movie still rocks.

Oh and the Dinobots are like little kids.

"Me Grimlock say you attack them."

"Best part, tell Swoop best part."

Derp.

Anywasy I just got excited because not only do I love Transformers but I love animation as well.

I've watched them all. Or most of them. Beast Wars, Armada, Energon, Cybertron, and a few others.

While I am a little sad I didnt make it in I am not devastated. IT was the first OCT I auditioned for and quite fankly I cant expect to get in on my first try.

There were several people higher than me and they got in because they deserved it.

I feel that because of time restraints I wasnt able to give a good enough STORY. I realize that STORY has got to be one of the biggest factors. No one knew what was going in in mine outside of the regulars, so it must have seemed like a mediocre animation with a "plot" that was too confusing to follow.

I accept this not as a defeat but as an opportunity to improve myself. Ive learned my lesson in time management and Im ready to move on. The next OCT I join I will put more thought into the story and "vision", as ~freshknight pointed out.

While I am a bit disheartened that I didnt make it in I do realize that I dont have to worry about making a deadline like this and I can finish some of my other projects.

The big question now is which OCT Ill join next. I had my eye on *RiseOCT but my brother =venomkold822 has insisted (COUGHforcedCOUGH) that it is for him and that I am not to enter. We'll see about that though.

There are plenty of other OCTs I can join and I will begin to look into which one would be best for me.

I have neglected my SDL character so I might duel someone sometime. Ill need some wins in that if I want to get into the SDL OCT in October...

Also, Red. Redhead's not going away forever he'll probably be put on hiatus while ~LordSilence and I develop the series a bit more.

I may do some Ebon Spire Spectator Entries though.

Also...I feel for my friends who auditioned and didnt make it in either. And Im happy for the ones that did.

So I will probably be just doing normal flashes for now until I come across another OCT that hits me as hard as Ebon Spire did. Seriously. I love the Spire and plan on following it the whole way! And I say good luck to all who made it!

My Ebon Audition will go on Newgrounds sometime soon and Ill make sure to let you guys know. I'll probably add another feature to it.

So! I am awaiting feedback on my audition so I can see what I need to improve on. Aside from what you guys have told me already.
