Today's angry rant is about Sonic the Hedgehog games.

Now the first four canon games (and Sonic CD) were great. They were absolutley awesome. Who cares if they were just there to show off Sega Genisis's processesing speed? Those games kicked so many different levels of ass. They were fast, challenging, and most of all, fun.

Somewhere along the line, Sega decided "You know what, lets take out two of those three aspects". I'm fully convinced this was somewhere between Sonic and Knuckles and Sonic Adventure.

Let's put this plain and simple... MODERN SONIC GAMES SUCK ASS. I don't WANT to play as Sonic's gay ass friends. I don't want to have a deep, involving storyline. Most of all I don't want to hunt for EMERALD SHARDS for 15 GOD DAMN MINUTES as KNUCKLES.

I want to be SONIC. I want to RUN. I want to run VERY FAST. You almost did this in Sonic Adventure 1, but you put so many sharp turns in the levels it slows you down to a crawl every time you build up speed. BAD BAD SEGA.

And let me tell you something else... BIG THE CAT AND AMY THE HEDGEHOGS ARE THE WORST EXCUSE FOR LEVELS EVER. Seriously it's just fucking retarded.

Don't get me started on the music. It's almost as bad as Billy Hatcher.

Hey, Sonic Adventure is NOTHING compared to Sonic Adventure 2. True, they introduce the best character to the Sonic Univerce since Knuckles (Shadow for you dumbasses), but this game is worse in terms of "Play as Sonic" then SA1.

First off, you play as Sonic 3 times. Shadow is the same way. Hell you play as TAILS more then you play as Sonic. And that pisses me off to high Hell because Tails's voice acting SUCKS. Also, now you have twice the gay as hell treasure hunting levels which everyone hates, because Rouge is like Knuckles in every way, except she's a bat, has gigantic boobs, and isn't nearly as awesome.

Sonic Heroes is the closest thing we have so far to a real sonic game, but then it gets gay with the whole "Power" and "Flying" aspect. Take those out and we'll talk about actually playing it.

Oh, another thing... I don't want to play as Super Sonic in ONE PART of the game. I want to EARN playing as Super Sonic like I did in Sonic 2 - Sonic and Knuckles. Playing him as part of the story is for retards who got too lazy to earn that right.

Chao raising is a complete waste of time and is overly retarded.

First off, let me say that Chromehounds is an awesome game online, but single player has no real point.

That has nothing to do with my birthday, I just felt like saying.

While the haul was not big this year, it certainly was filled with PURE AWESOME.

I got Animaniacs AND Pinky and the Brain DVDs.

I am already on disc 3 out of 5 for Animaniacs.

All I can say is this show isn't as good as I remember.

IT'S A THOUSAND TIMES BETTER.

Though I do wis I would get to the Chicken Boo stuff already. Although Buttons is fucking awesome as well.

I also got Call of Duty 2, and almost have beatin it already. I hope Multiplayer makes up for lack of length.

Since I don't write enough journals and I work at Blockbuster, I might as well review the movies coming out on tuesday every week.

This week's must-rent is Date Movie. This movie is, without a doubt, as good as Scary Movie. Maybe not the second one but definatly the first. This movie parodies the best romantic comedies ever. Meet the Parents/ Fockers, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, The Bachelor (Okay, not a romantic comedy, but they do parody it).

It's alot of grossout humor for a little bit. Within a 20 minute timespan, they have orgasams to pork chops, cat pooping, and cat fucking a bride.

However this movie is quite funny, and once you get past a certain point, it stops being gross out humor and something much, much more magical.

Okay, I finally got around to seeing FFVII: Advent Children, and I have to say... it could have been better. I'M NOT SAYING IT'S NOT AWESOME SHUT UP. It is awesome, but it could have been better. Why?

First off, there are some... inconsistancies... with the movie and the game. A small, almost moot one is the fact that Tsung is alive. I thought Sephiroth killed Tsung in the temple of the Ancients. I mean, you never see him after that in the game, ever. Another one is kinda major... the thre main eneimes (Kadaaj and his gang). All the Sephiroth clones died in the crater, so what the hell are these guys doing here?

Second, the fight scenes. They're awesome. They're more then awesome, they're epic. They're SO epic, NOBODY EVER GETS HIT, EVER. That's right, Cloud can not only parry every sword swipe someone sends his way, but he can block BULLETTS GOING 400 MP WITH A FUCKING SWORD! That irks me.

Third, nobody dies in this movie until the very end. Hell, nobody died in the game except Aeris (NEVAR 4GET), but this is especially true in this movie. Kadaaj's brothers survive two fights with Cloud AND an explosion of almost epic proportions on a BRIDGE, and they STILL ARE NOT DEAD! I blame Phenoix Downs.

Fourth, Sephiroth. He needed to be in it more. He needed more screentime. That's all.

Lastly, the final fight scene. I love how it was SO one-sided throughout the ENTIRE fight, yet Cloud STILL won. Cloud got thrown into a building, smashed, hit, cut, and magic'd, yet Sephiroth STILL lost. Facinating.

Oh, and Cid dosen't cure nearly as much as he should have. That is all.

Now the good parts:

The dubbing was done very well. It was lip synched with a quality I've only seen Square do. The voice actors fit the characters as well, except I didn't like their choice of actor for Mr. T... I mean Barrett. Seriously, Barrett is Mr. T in this movie. Moreso than in the game. I PITY DA FOO'!

And I can't even lie about this: The animation was legendary. Goddamn legendary. If I didn't know better, I would say that there were parts where they got actual actors and put them behind a greenscreen. It was THAT good.

Overall, great movie, but it had some problems with game consistancy and fight scenes. Still, any Final Fantasy VII fan should at least try to WATCH this movie, if not BUY it.

Not only are my lips chaffed, but I've got a huge-ass canker sore on the left side. It hurts when I open my mouth too much, which is usually about halfway, making even talking a painful chore. It hurts so much I havn't been able to brush for 3 days... yeah, gross, I know.

After work I'll upload something. I just havn't been very inspired the last few weeks, then an awesome idea hit me about 3 days ago and I havn't stopped sketching. Only one thing has really been colored though.

Well, not all of them. The first one was neat. The other two were full of lose and not win.

Why does the second one suck? Keanu Reeves can't act, that's why. He's supposed to be butt-in-love with this ugly-ass girl, but his face stays the same throughout the two hours of tedium this movie brought.



Imagine seeing that for TWO WHOLE MOVIES. WHOOOOO! GO MONEY WASTED FOR ACTING LESSONS!

And the fight scenes in the second one either were ass-long or fucktarded short. YES. I GET IT. THEY ARE FIGHTING ON THE HIGHWAY. WE DON'T NEED 20 MINUTES OF THAT. 5 WILL SUFFICE.

Plus the second tries to hard to be subtle with it's bible refrences. HAHA, NEO IS JESUS, TRINITY IS MARY, MORPHEOUS IS AN APOSTLE! LOLWTFFBBQSAUCE.

Now, moving to the third movie, can we say "Too many endings"? And worst of all, they chose a shit ending too. It should have ended when Dead-Neo was dragged off on that one robot. The ending would have been PERFECT there. But no, the stupid brothers who made this movie decided to drag it out for another 5 minutes with pointless programs talking amongst themselves.

Now to how many endings there were... let's count.

1. All the Smiths explode, and the Oracle is lying in the crater Smith and Neo made.
2. The giant robot head saying "it is done" (Also a perfect place to actually end the movie).
3. The kid shouting to the people that the war is over.
4. Morpheous thanking Neo.
5. Robot dragging Neo's dead carcass to wherever (PERFECT ENDING! STOP MOVIE HERE! STOPSTOPSTOP FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR GOD STOP!)
6. The archatect saying "What am I, human?" (Not the best ending, but at least this way the series will end with some dignaty and/or humor)
7. The ending that actually was.

7 places to end the movie, and they chose the shittiest place possible to end it, with the exception of #4, because Morpheous is dumb.

Also, the last half of the movie just dragged. It's like they had two pages of script and threw in 50 pages of filler. WE DONT NEED TO SEE NEO AND SMITH FLY AROUND LIKE QUEER LITTLE ANGSTY FARIES FOR A HALF HOUR.

The next time they make a movie that isn't made win and awesome like V for Vendetta, I'm blowing up their house and holding their family hostage until they fix it.

Oh god how I hate her. Everyone hates her. Her own FAMILY hates her. Why? I shall explain.

First off, now she can only work 4 hour shifts. Meaning it slams MORE hours on everyone else. Well everyone else must translate to me, because I've had more 8 hour shifts in two weeks then in the last 2 months.

Second off, she dosent do ANYTHING. 3 of those four hours are spent sitting down, in the bathroom, and eating. Meaning one person has to pull the weight of two people. Lovely. I do almost EVERYTHING for four hours, including quality check, locking, checking in, putting away, alphabetizing, loading, and running movies, while running the register, while she answers the phone the three times it dosent ring for the manager.

Third, her bathroom breaks are inexblicibly long. I can understand 7 minutes one out of the 20 times (exaggerated number, it's more like 5 or 6) you go a day, cause hey, we all gotta poop. But EVERY time?! Hell no. Get off your lazy ass and do some WORK so I can get something DONE!

Fourth, she acts all high and mighty, telling other people what to do, but not actually doing anything herself. News flash bitch! You're not a manager, and you're not the only one whose ever been pregnant! Try doing some work yourself before you tell ME what to do!

Oh hey, I have something else! She frequently calls in for people to cover for her lazy ass, claiming she's sick (which is BS, because she did that before pregnacy), making someone ELSE fill in for her! And guess what? SHE NEVER REPAYS THE FAVOR!

Oh, she's also a compulsive liar. Apparently her husband is in Iraq! Guess what? He's supposed to have been there for three months, but he's only been there for 2 weeks now? Hmm... someone's inconsistant. Way to go you lying bitch. If your gonna lie, at least make it so you're gonna keep track of times. I bet he's not even seeing fighting.

Oh your god... it was so AWESOME. Trent Reznor was a GOD.

So many great songs... Hand That Feeds, Sin, Terrible Lie, Right Where It Belongs, Wish, Love Is Not Enough, Gave Up... I could go on.

Only song that was missing was Starfuckers Inc. But the rest of the concert was so overwhemingly awesome it made up for it.

Trent Reznor seems to have alot of fun on the stage too. He was jumping around and all sorts of crazy shit.

The opening band (Queens of the Stone Age) were good too. I only knew one of their songs though, as opposed to all but 2 of NIN's.

I've been playing Genji: Dawn of tomorrow, a very violent game with lots of blood and death. This OBVIOUSLY MUST MEAN it's a SAMURAI KILLING SIMULATOR! OH NOES!

Obviously this means should a samurai ever come to my house, I will know how to kill it with percision and devistation. Also, my bloodlust has been hightened since playing this game.

That's right! This game is making me violent! I have an uncontrolable urge to go out and cut someone's head off! And when the samurai come to stop me, I'll know how to kill them because I trained on this game! I'LL BE UNSTOPABLE!

Oh, it's also a chinese language course. I'm obviously learning chinese from this game, because that's what they speak in. OH GENJI YOUR SO MULTICLASSING.

Also, Armored Core: Nine Breaker is OBVIOUSLY a mech building and fighting sim. Should I ever get the money and resources from my sword fighting and killing sprees, I'll be able to build and operate my own giant mech. Of which when I do, I can fight OTHER mechs to the death! Armored Core, you nutty Mech simulator, how you are corrupting America's youth.

And don't even get me STARTED on Mario Sunshine's s "FLUDD fighting simulator", or the fact it teaches you how to double jump 30 feet in the air.

I'm sure you'd ALL love to hear about my date last night. Haha, dont bother locking the doors from the outside to lock yourself in to hear, I already did that FOR you. Isn't that considerate of me?

I met her not two minutes after work. We walked to McDonalds where we ate a cheap dinner. And I won me a medium fry. Sweet.

After that we wandered around a grocery store and bothered (read: talked to people she knew) people who worked there.

Then we went to a craft store (Ome, shut up. I know you havn't said anything, but still, shut up). We found an awesome spider there. She took it and tried bringing it outside, but it made a webline off her HAND. That was the COOLEST part of the wandering around part (for her anyway. Mine's coming up).

After that we were uber bored so we went into Peeboles. After walking around doing nothing for a bit she found this awesome red thing. She tried it on. I couldn't even hide my grin. It was impossible. Plain and simple. Impossi-fucking-ble. Wow. That made my night.

After going to random places (like a bike store, furniture rental store, clothes store, etc etc) we got in the long long line for tickets. Lucky for us, most the people there were for some other chick flick. After getting free popcorn (sweet) and a drink, we watched the movie. It was gut (german for good).

Then my mom picked us up, and dropped her off her house, where we had hot monkey sex. The last 4 words didn't really happen. I was a gentleman the entire time. For serious.

Getting used to my new tablet. It's purdy. Still have some issues with it though, such as the face I cant rotate it like I can a peice of paper, and the face I have to look up instead of down. Aside from that it's like drawing on paper, only aLOT more neat and organized.

Oh my god, you have to see corpse bride. You HAVE to! It's just the best fucking Tim Burton movie since EVER. This is better then fucking Nightmare Before Christmas. I dont care if Jonny Depp was in it. He's in EVERYTHING. This makes me hate him. But god DAMN this movie was brilliant.

Final Fanatsy Crystal Chronicles. I dont know whether to love or hate it right now... seems more of something from the Mana series then anything. I need to play more before I make any conclusions.

Sonic Gems Collection rocks. I've only played Sonic CD and already like it better then any of the recent Sonic games in terms of gameplay. In terms of character, not so much. I LOVE YOU SHADOW!

I lost my wallet... I need to find that. It has important things in it. Like money. And identification. And... umm... velcro?

Look at my deviantion today. I'm very sick and demented. AND LOVING EVERY MINUTE OF IT!

R-Type Final totally suck ass. Avoid it at all costs. Seriously, I dont know why this series lasted as long as it dd, but I'm glad it's over now.

Dynasty Warriors (PSP) is... odd. I like it, but the way it's done leaves something to be desired. But hey, you run around and kill hundreds of people, so it's great!

Wipeout: Pure is godly. The speed... the speed! It's the F-Zero for the PSP. Only better. F-Zero for the Gamecube was frustrating, this is fun. And portible! Now only if they had more cars...

Untold Legends is fun for a while... then boring. Great in small doses, Baldur's Gate 2 ripoff in big doses.

I imagine I'd like Guild Wars better if I had a better graphics card, thereby eliminating the constant blue screen of death. Seriously. The game crashes on me when I try to EQUIP something! That's just not right...

Those are all the recent games I can think of right now. I guess I'll start with movies next time, seeing as how I work in a place that rents them. Stay tuned.

I ordered Ultimate Spiderman Limited Edition at work today. What's so different about the limited edition? It has Venom on the box! And... umm... nothing. But come on, Venom so kicks Spiderman's ass. By, like, alot. Alot alot.

MORE GAME STUFFS!

Wario Ware Touched! is so additcing. It's like crack, only slightly healthier. It uses nothing but the touchscreen, and the games are amazingly simple. SPIN! SLASH! EJACULATE! Maybe not so much the last one, but eh.

Mario 64 DS blows my mind. Not because it's like WOAHLY SHIT good, but because they have an improved version of Mario 64 on something so FUCKING TINY! Not much new, but tis still a good play.

Kirby Canvas Curse is ok. It's fun and all, but Scott of VG Cats describes it's main flaw so well. MY NAME IS KIRBY AND I LOVE DICK! I DONT LISTEN TO WHERE TO GO DUE TO TOO MUCH COCK IN MY EARS! SQUIRT! Aside from annoying kirby music and that, nothing too bad.

If Wario Ware Touched! is crack, Lumines is heroine. This game is fun, fast, and fun. If you own a PSP (fat chance), get this. You wont regret it.

Death Jr. is ok. Hard as hell and blah graphics, but fun. Haha, I shot you with a rocked then sliced your belly open! Slice cut boom bang chop!

Holy shit, DA gave me a free fucking week as a suscriber. Now I'll see if it's actually worth my not-so-hard-earned cash.

This is the nicest thing DA has ever done for me. Fo' real. I'm sorry guys, for saying you were a bunch of tyrants for moving my artwork. You guys are allright.

I have been consumed by Ultimate Spiderman much like Venom consumes people for health. I cannot escape it's grasp. This is seriously the best Spiderman game EVER. It totally made me forget the shitpile that was Spiderman 2. I love this game so much I think I may have orgasamed a few times while playing it.

Another good game I've been playing is Destroy All Humans. Also known as "Invader Zim, in the 1950's, with gore." This game is hilarious. "Blame Communisim". IT'S GENIOUS! You get a freaking ANAL PROBE as a weapon! Say that isn't great and you're a god damned pinko commie. Ome, you can go ahead and say it anyway, cause your a communist already.

An OK game is Alter Echo. It's cool switching forms and all, but the difficulty curve is all liike BWAAAAAH! SUPER EASY THEN YOU DIE 9 TIMES IN ALL THE LEVELS! HAHAHAHAHA BUTTSEX! That and it gets repetitive and boring.

Avoid Star Ocean: Till the End of Time like the plague. It sucks and blows, then takes it in the ass with no lube.

I am going to a NIN concert November 2nd at the MCI in Washington DC. If I dont see you there (Yes, you in michigin, picking your nose), I will hunt you down and strangle you with your own intestines.

On August 7th, DA turns five years old. Five years for a website like this should be a grand affair, one big event.

So don't submit anything on August 7th.

I'm talking a print, a deviation, a scrap...nothing.

Instead, just leave a comment. Visit a user's page and just say hi.

If someone wants to buy a subscription that day, I'm all in favor or it. It'll keep the servers going, and anything that keeps the hamster running is a good thing.

BUT...I think folks shouldn't buy any prints. No print subscriptions. That goes against the COMMUNITY theme for the day.

We want to put the COMMUNITY back into DA.
