Finals are finally over! I'm so glad

I'm back from Animeland Wasabi and well rested and I'm actually being productive for once so things are going well... except I haven't seen my grades yet so I don't know how that will effect my wellness. They come out on the 3rd so yeah *keeps paws crossed*

I'm going to go upload a picture to the gallery now... donno which one yet but you should be seeing it soon. In other news, I started on my new Pokemon costume today! It is TOTALLY epic. Like seriously, I can't stop wearing what I have done so far. Totally fun and you'll all see why soon. I know you'll agree with me once you understand what I'm talking about. Oh yesssss :3


So back to my week, uh Wasabi: It was my first time attending the con and it's obvious that it needs help. A lot of help. In fact, I was thinking about becoming staff next year because they need to really get things in order. I know it's only their second year but it didn't really feel like an anime convention to me... I donno. More like a fanclub that was disorganized. The schedule was so F'ed up. Apparently most of the issues were due to the hotel though and not Wasabi itself. And they need some more/better panels! If I don't do staff, I think I'll do a costuming panel. I've had a few people tell me that I should do one. Perhaps Wasabi is the way to start? I also might get a table in the artists alley; Ani and I were talking about doing that at NDK so we'll see. They need a conbook, better badges that don't rip, and they need to leave that piano out! Seriously, I was so going to play a song from Pokemon while wearing my Charizard suit but NOOO of course not! The dealer's room was small and I wasn't impressed and the Artists Alley WAY too narrow and in the worst spot ever (though I didn't go their for shopping anyways since I have no money). A freakin Wedding was going on and that severely hindered the con. ~Kamakazi-chan entered the cosplay contest (her first one!) as Glaceon though she didn't win anything, I got to help her get her suit on and lead her to the stage. It was extremely short and there weren't many entrees at all so I kinda wished I had participated. Maybe next year. *shrug* I donno, I think what would have really helped is if the hotel was bigger, the cramped hallways were awful >< I could keep going but eh. I didn't feel that my $20 was well spent at all. I could have just as easily walked around the con for free like Ani/Rattata and Jac did... I only got the badge for the dealers room and for helping Kama in the cosplay contenst (both of which were not worth the price of the badge or wasn't needed) so that was dissapointing.

After the con we dragged Kama back to the Towers to spend the night and we were all exhausted. Ani and Jac took a nap and I showed Kama all my new arts and videos. I uploaded one of the videos to my YouTube so go watch it! [link] More is on the way :3
The next morning, I made pancakes and bacon (mmmmmm) and ~Susano-Reborn came over to meet Kama. She had to bring her little brother Wyatt with her but he wasn't a problem, even fun! Later Kama went back to the Springs with Ani and Jac and San, Wyatt, and I went to go see the new Monsters vs Aliens movie.... IN 3DDDD!!!/epic voice. It was pretty good, excellent animation of course. Storyline was alright. They had never seen a 3D movie before (like what!?) so they enjoyed it a ton, especially Wyatt who was grabbing at the 3D images in the air . Later San took me to meet some of her furry buddies and we hung out at a hookah bar downtown for awhile. I don't smoke of course but I had a great time anyways sitting around listening to jokes and awesome songs... like I got introduced to this one song called Jizzed In My Pants. Lots of fun there XDD

*Sigh* So I REEEEALLLY should be working on my school projects right now but I wanted to pop onto DA real quick to let you know that I'm SUPER EXTREMELY BUSY. I will get around to checking all my DA messages and my 9 notes and a million other things across my 5 other online galleries and e-mails and will get to replying... but not until finals week is over and Anime Wasabi is done with. Cheezits-christ I have so much to do!

So here's all I have to finish by tomorrow:
-Bubbletron sculpture (ya know, my old orange dragon character?)
-Dion sculpture bust (my female Chistori character [Star Wars])
-Self Portrait video (a video that represents me through metaphors)
-Light and Emotion video (a video to portray a certain emotion)
-Promotional video (a demo reel of my work)
-Stop motion animation (featuring my custom Bionicle, Cyron)

I've only gotten Bubbletron (but need to finish painting), Dion, and my Emotion video finished right now... and my stop motion is halfway done. But I'll be up all night. Hooray.

I've still got at least 5 things to submit to DA so you'll see them soon! I promise!
Please be patient with me. I don't plan to be 100% back on till the 29th (though I know I'll still pop on now and then just to scream at my high message count and promptly log off)


In other news, I got a costume commission done last week and I have been working on updating my costume commission info journal (now with some examples... more coming soon.) I'm also wanting to post up my other costume pictures on DA so I'll add like 4 more things to my upload list. Wow, be expecting like 10 things from me then! I also discovered the magic of Wonderflex today! Damn I want some :/

Yep so I've been sitting here for a good, eh 3 hours today (8 hours yesterday?? Maybe? *bad at guesstimating time*) working on this assignment for Drawing and Anatomy class. We had to draw 53 different human poses. Oh god, it was a lot, but I did have 2 weeks to work on it so it's my fault. Anyways I actually had a lot of fun doing it and I'll be taking pictures and showing you all my drawings.

Right now I'm oCing with Blak and Kiba. I haven't oCed in a year at least! Zee, if you read this, I wanted to let you know that I got it to work so we have to do it soon. And anyone else who wants to draw, please let me know!

Ok, back to drawing for me. I'll update a little more later. Still got a 3D model to work on tonight.

(later) Ok so I just finished struggling with 3Ds max and it's 4:23am. Yey. Can't get the dang model to render so I'll do it at school. I modeled my digital camera, and speaking of which, I broke it. Yesterday in the middle of using it for homework. The lens won't retract so I have to send it in to get repaired and that means I might still have to pay for the damage costs, even though it's under warranty. If I end up paying over $50, I think it's going to really set me back (I'm low enough on money as it is) and won't be able to buy costume fabric next month. That would suck big time.

And speaking of costumes, I never got my YouTube video to upload... I'm going to also try and make that work at school. If not I have to wait until I visit home again because we've got high speed internet. *sigh* Well, it feels both good and bad now that I've got my homework done: good because it's done. Bad because I stayed up too late and I'm going to be tired and that I still have more homework to do tomorrow.

Well besides my birthday being tomorrow (and also the first day of school) I just wanted an excuse to update my journal really quick. So I had a tiny celebration with my family and I got a 20 ride pass on the FREX busline from my parents so I can travel back and forth between Denver and home without paying for it myself. Hooray! I also got a OXO 3 bowl set for my kitchen from my sister. It'll definitely come in handy. And my brother Rey got me... nothing. Yet. XDD He really does take after me! I hardly get anything on time as most of friends can vouch for. Oh well, he should be getting something for me in the mail soon. And I should be getting something I bought as a birthday present to myself in the mail tomorrow too. And my brother gets his braces off tomorrow! And my sister goes to the gynecologist for the first time tomorrow! (she will probably kill me if she reads that)

Anyways, you've probably noticed by now but your inboxes are about to be flooded by old artwork from me in preparation for me moving over permanently to this account. Got a lot of old goodies I want to drag over here as well as some new old things (if I can find what I'm looking for. About 1/2 of my life's worth of older artwork was on a data CD I left in the computer lab a few weeks ago and now it's missing/stolen *panic*) Got a bunch of things to do and prepare for more art from college projects being uploaded throughout the quarter too. I'm taking all art classes: Drawing and Anatomy (which I have with *Animeg!), Hard Surface & Organic 3D modeling, Sculpture, Desktop Video, and Language of Animation. Fun fun fun!

What else? I rearranged my dorm closet when I moved a bunch of stuff up here from home and now all my costume stuff fits better; I'm getting ready to record my Aerodactyl costume walkthrough video today as well as take some pictures so I can put it up in my gallery like I did with Charizard. Still editing those YouTube videos. I accidentally left them on my hard drive when I went home for winter break so I haven't worked on them any yet. Oops.

Yes this is a duplicate journal from my Tusami account. Deal with it.

Obviously we've been having a nice holiday season and winter break so I'm got some free time on my hands for once! Yey! However, I left all of my artwork back up in my dorm so I went up to Denver with my brother Rey and hung out at the mall and got my art and picked up some job applications and all that fun stuff.

Re-updated my subscription again on my Tusami account until I've got everything sorted out there. Yey for having no money :/

Other things that are going on besides of course attempting to eliminate my to-do list include me editing costume videos for YouTube. I went to Kama's house a few days ago with Shadow and got myself a duct tape dummy for my 2009 costume. That's right, I'm finally starting on my new costume. Oh the suspense! I wonder what it could be...? I'll be giving you a little hint in my next video and it will be unveiled soon so you can follow along in tutorials as I build the thing.


Oh right and of course, my 19th birthday is on January 12th so that means... ...uh, absolutely nothing. *shrug* Yep. Another year goes WHOOOOSEH and get to wave at it as it goes by. Fun fun.

And lastly, my Christmas presents include clothes, an animal anatomy book for artists, giftcards, and a new digital camera to replace the old one that got stolen from me two months ago. Wonder what I'll get for my birthday. It was a good year. Bye bye 2008!
