1. What does your deviantart name mean and why did you join this site?
My name means Caressed by the Light in French, and I joined because, at the time, I was a college art student and I was finally making work I was proud of. I had been a lurker for a short while and figured I was good enough to join.

I'll admit it, like many others I was obsessed with Sailor Moon, now I'm just obsessed with Fate/Stay Night.

Hands. Anduel: My strongest suit is my ability to teleport, however, I have no control over it. Any time I pass through a door that doesn't have a charm on it, I randomly teleport. My first lover was a handsome celestial man by the name of Attis, who oddly enough had black wings. He had long white hair pulled back, dark skin, and intoxicating green eyes. He called me Inanna. I guess that would have counted as a nick name... Then there was this daiyoukai. He had long white hair too. Why do I have a thing for white haired men? I have white hair too. You'd think I'd be sick of it. Strangely enough though, before I got lost last time I was torn up real bad, and when I healed, my scars looked kinda like his markings. Who'da thunk? And then there was this dreamy dark haired guy. He was a demon too, like the last man, and he had the loveliest dark skin. His eyes were of the softest blue. Leader of his own tribe too. I kinda fell off of a waterfall and on his head. You would think that nothing would come of that relationship...

So, I responded with what I thought would be an answer that wouldn't cause a riot. Lets just say it was belittling, the response I got from it that is.

However, the truth is this. It IS frustrating, it DOES piss me off when my work is not discussed. For example, I was truely excited for the last critique (the one before this one). I finally got to do what I wanted to do and I loved the prints I put up. I was PROUD of my work...and it was not discussed. I was upset afterwards but okay. Then, I had the wonderful joy on the next day of class where in one on ones he told me if I did not get X number of rolls shot, I would *fail* the class. He didn't even really look at what was on the contact sheets I did, just fricken counted them! I am supposed to graduate next semester. I want out of here. Let's just say that's devistating. So I got work ready for this class that I liked, and it was not picked again. Imagine that? This is the point where some of what I said in class as being true. I'm turning neutral. If all G. wants is rolls, he will get rolls. I've come to the point where I've wasted enough tears over being rejected.

What really peeves me though is him saying that it was good to experiment and no one in this class was going to fail. Imagine that? Me and one other both had to try not to burst out laughing.

1: I will sometimes bite my toenails.
2: Cheese dipped in chocolate is good.
3: I will sometimes rub my eyebrows to get dandriff out in the winter.
4: I can't stand hair growing out of somewhere it shouldn't. I.e. moles and such. I will obsessively try to pluck it.
5: When I get a newspaper I have to have the comics. I will sometimes fight my father for them.

******UPDATE******
Since I can't do polls, because I'm not a paying member, I'd like to ask a question here and get some opinions. The question is, am I stupid for doing this? So, I decided to leave my job at one place because of, let's just call them issues, and got hired at another store. At my current job, my manager askes me to stay, understands my reasons, and says she'll try to fix them. She does fix one immediately. Also, we're supposed to be going over our usual review soon, and my stats indicate that I should get a raise. (I would have lost $0.73 per hour by taking the new job. The old job was making me depressed, among other things). So, I went over and declined my new job. I did it in such a manner that the new job said to call back if the old job didn't work out.

Am I stupid? My friends seem to think so.

APPEARANCE

1)If this character were to suddenly become part of the 3D world, and ended up in a heavily-populated area, how many stares would he/she get?
First people would notice the hair, then the pointy ears, perhaps the tail or wings (whichever she had at that point), and then, all the gaul darn scars. That combined with claws is pretty weird. So... I'd say a TON of stares.

No.

3)What would be his/her most recognizable feature(s)?
The scars.

I would, she probably would too, eventually.

PERSONALITY

She's pretty patient, but she has her streaks too.

Oh yeah, she's got burdens. She mostly covers it up with sarcasm though.

Follower. Not always by choice. She's usually the kind to hang back, allow others to lead, and if they do something stupid, THEN she'll lead. Why expend unnessary effort?

Sarcasm.

HISTORY

1) Did your OC have a family of any sort? If so, are they still alive?
Yes. Her father, Adad, ate her mother and spat her out. She has a telepathic brother (Antithesis) who wears a human skin cloak, a cowardly crossbow weilding bat winged sister (Anathema), and a little sister (Agasaya) who almost seems human, but is probably the most evil of them all. Currently, they're all still alive, unfortunately.

2) Is your character out on his/her own? If so, why?
Sort of. Is she away from her family? YES. Is she in the company of others? Yes. She tried to get out of her father's control and he tried to have her killed, and sort of succeeded. She did die, she just got the good fortune to have someone give her pity and resurect her.

3)Has he/she encountered any traumatizing events?
See above and then add the sudden knowledge that yes, in fact, you have been devouring people's souls among other things. Remember the part about burden and depression?

4)What was probably the best time in his/her life so far?
Time spent with Rin, she is the only happiness Aphreal has ever felt that has not been tainted. It is the strangeness of her current situation, knowing that Adad cannot reach her in this strange land, and Rin's semicontagious cheerful countance that allows her to be somewhat she would have been if her life's trauma had never occured.

It's final's week, but I've already run myself into the ground the prior two weeks so I just don't seem to have it in me to panic.

On a lighter note, I don't have a good portion of my works at home with me for very valid reasons. Two of my works are on display in the library. One is permanent and the other is there for aproximately one year. It looks so awesome coming out of the wall.
Another one of my works was put into a juried exhibition and got an honorable mention and is now on display with yet another of my works for a month. I'll have photos of these when they come back.

Brady, my bf got the ACS (American Chemical Society) award for our division for outstanding chemistry and is now the president of ACS. It looks like he'll be getting out of college in a year. I will be in two years. It feels strange thinking about that.

There are some other neat things that are going on right now, but since they don't directly affect me or concern me, then I am not at liberty to discuss.

Ah well, I'm tired now, but I at least I left an update since the last one was on April 21st. I'm goting to go nap now.

I just saw Silent Hill the movie. Freaking scary! Excellent graphics! Excellent story line. I am pretty darn desensitized and I almost turned away at times. I must own it! I was only truely sad in one point and I vehimently wanted someone in particular to die from that movie. I hope there is a sequel. I'd say more, but, yeah, I'd give out spoilers.

As a side note, I wish that I got more than 1/3 points back for what I did for my exam. I would have had a 79% instead I have something akin to something in the 60th %.

So I lost two points for quizes for astronomy and still did abismal in math. There goes my 3.6 GPA.


To lightly put how the math exam went, it was like a tricycle being run over by a Mac truck. I came out of the math exam litterally whimpering and begging to God on high for a C, or a D even, just so I wouldn't have to take that class again. This is coming out of a person who is barely religious at all. I walked home kind of shakey and feeling quite sick.


You know, I believe that I am doomed from the beginning with math. I can do the homework just fine and seem to know the material the day before. However, there just seems to be something different about the whole mathematical world in general. In an average class, I excel in exams. I can take one with out skipping a beat. I'm perfectly calm, cool, and collected. I know my material almost inheirantly and perform very well.

For some reason though, when go I take a math exam, the first thing that happens upon entering the room is that I get an adrenaline rush. I'm immediately nervous as though I hadn't studied at all, when I know I have studied. I feel slightly nauseous throughout the whole thing and my mind is almost to fight or flight mode. I'm very jittery and make many stupid errors and when I leave I just want to throw up and find a corner to curl up and hide in.

Does anyone else get like this?

I just recently got a drawing tablet, and ya know what? It's awesome! I don't care much about the drinking all that much, but I get to go into bars and play pool no problemo! I don't get to play pool all that often anymore. The best time I had when I was at home last is I got to play pool for over 3 hours with my father. 1) I have an incredibly weak stomach. Far too many foods upset me.
2) I can't handle liquor to save my soul. One shot of bacardi has me buzzing and crazy.
3) The closest thing to a phobia is that I'm afraid of torandoes. I never really fear them unless I'm driving.
4) I secretly wish a tornado would run over my job.
5) I am an introvert.
6) I am taller than my boyfriend, who is only 14 hours older than me.

Once they're done I think I will add pics of them online. I've also been promoted at said new job to cashier/Credit Greeter. (Credit greater kind of sucks. Tons of people get ticked off at you for doing your job. I really like old people. They're usually still nice to you.) And that's pretty much it.

Also, as to the goings of the world and such, I'm a bit blind on that at the moment. We don't have cable, and in this area if you don't have cable you don't have a single television channel. It sucks. I also don't have a newspaper either. Our mail carrier is a little confused I think, because we are supposed to be getting an Argus newspaper. Grrrr.... So yeah, ttyl, I guess.

I don't think that I want to be going camping for any time soon. I didn't really like it this last time.

I was originally to go to a site called Black Lake, but last minute changed it to Spearhead Point..thank goodness. I didn't have much fun though because the campground was gravel on the groundspace for the tent (ouch), a girl that came along that was called Jenny was a bitch, the lake was grossly snale infested and brown with iron, my friends got wasted the first night, there was a loud baby crying next door for most of the first night, and on the second night...we didn't sleep in the tent.

Well, actually, we were originally sleeping in the tent, but about two hours after I had fallen asleep, three of my friends are startled awake by the sound of rustling down by the lake. At first they dismissed it, but then it started panting and circling the tent we were in. Kyle woke up and turned on the light and made a lot of noise. He then woke us all up and got us to go into the cars, thinking that it was a wolf. There are wolves, cyotes, and bears in the area. And there were also mountain lions, I think, a good distance north of us. We didn't find this out until one car drove to the nearest town, a half hour away, and tried to find the ranger's station. Who doesn't put an actual ranger's station in a federal state forest?! They said that there were a pack of wolves currently in Black Lake, two hours above us aprox., and that they had rangers there. They also stated that they wouldn't come and check the area out for us (we called them by the way, there was no one in the ranger's station), and that they don't have anyone patrol the area except on weekends and if it's really busy. Uh, so what does that mean? That the animals are asleep on weeknights because they work a 9-5 job in the mornings and that they have weekends off and therefore get wasted and wander into the camps only on weekends?! *grr* So we were told to sleep in our cars at the camp site for the night. One car drove off to town to sleep without telling us except at the last minute and we spent a restless night waiting for dawn because we were scared. The "experienced" campers were in the car that drove off. I think my bladder backed up into my kidneys I waited so long for dawn to go. Ick... pit toilets...

So yeah. I don't think that the trip was worth the 5+ hour drive, the $30 for the camp site, and the aproximate $40 for gas. Not many people have paid me back for hauling around their shit and reserving the campsite.

I don't wanna go camping for a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. "Roughing it" for me will from now on be a cabin, I think.

I'm venting because I have only had 4 hrs sleep to drive on and just got home and took a shower.
