That's what happens when you absent for such a long period.
Can't really say that "I'm back", 'cause I haven't touched my camera in ages. Still no PhotoShop, so I don't really see the point of uploading unprocessed photos. Sadly.

Anyhow, I'm doing well. The veterinary study is taking most of my time I'm afraid, but apart form that. Doing fine

Hello everyone!
I'm still alive and around. It's just that a lot happened in a very short amount of time, and life seemed to be against me. I guess you've noticed that my recent deviation was of my bird Sonny and that he died two weeks ago. That was pretty hard to go through.. and at the same time I was going to have a test at school, which I had to pass to be allowed to take my exam (which is in two weeks!!) - luckily I passed, but believe me it wasn't fun studying for a test when my budgie had just died..
Then it was all the packing, 'cause I was moving to a new apartment (again, not fun finding feathers from Sonny).

..and I feel like all I do is work, read, sleep, and read some more. My curriculum never ends! It just keeps growing and growing! Sigh.. So it might be a while before I get to edit my photos from the farm.. hopefully after my exam..

I want to rant about my job too, but there's a limit to how negative this entry can be.. Happy thoughts! That's it!

At least I like my new apartmet..and I have chocolate..

Hi all!
So, I'm halfway through my time on the farm.. It's absolutely fantastic! I've become so fond of cows..! And of the calves too of course

A new calf was born only two days ago, and I got to be there when he came (I'm glad I'm not a cow..). He's completely black apart from some white markings on his feet, and a white star on his forehead. I secretly call him Storm

But he's far from my favourite-calf. That's a 2 1/2 weeks old calf whom I call "Little Moo". She's almost like a dog! So cuddly!
I also have some favourite-cows. They're huge beasts, but so friendly. Some of them even follow me around because they want me to pet them ^^ So cute!

I have to admit, though, that I was terrified of the cows the first two days. Until I got used to them, and understood that they wouldn't hurt me on purpose..

I'm really impressed by the whole farm. The milking is automatic (a robot controlls it all), the feeding is automatic (except for the calves - we have to feed them manually), there are scrapes along the floor which scoops up the faeces (not so fun when they don't work), and they even have this gigantic bottle brush which the cows use to scratch themselves!
But still, there is a lot to do. So I can't imagine how it would be if nothing was automatic!

So be prepared for some farmlife-photos in a two weeks time! I haven't got my old laptop with me and I don't have PhotoShop on my Mac, so I can't resize them and adjust the colours yet..
I've learned that cows are very photogenic

I HATE THUNDER!! And guess what's right outside my window?! Thunder AND lightening!! It's not that I am scared shitless (okay, maybe a little scared), but there is no way to ignore it! I've unplugged every single electrical thing in my apartment (except for the fridge..), so I can't listen to music loudly (my Mac doesn't produce enough sound), can't watch TV, can't play Super Paper Mario on Wii (which by the way ROCKS!), and I can't surf on the internet - I am currently writing this offline..

My god, the sky is pitch black! Ah, there came the lightening again.. there's little time between the lightening and the thunder, so it's getting closer.. Can't wait till it just passes!

Even my budgie twitches each time a light flashes..and flattens his feathers when the thunder rolls..

Gah..

Ooookay, forked lightening now.. something got hit.. lucky me who lives on the top floor.. *nervous laughter*

Sorry, just have to write something.. keep myself occupied. I'll probably look back on this and laugh..

Yaaay, I can see a blue sky coming this way! And..even..a rainbow? Better go and bring my electrical equipment back to life and get this journal entry posted..

I don't know how it happened, but suddenly my three days of free time shrunk into only one day! I was supposed to work Monday, Thursday and Saturday, and now I've got Wednesday and Friday too! Oh well, I need the money.. but still!

Anyway, exam is over and my so-called summervacation has begun. This summer I'm going to work, work, work, work some more, and then head off to a farm and work there too! That last one is a requirement from school..

That was a pretty long title I must say, but that's how life has been recently. I've just finished my first exam on the veterinary study (last Friday), where half of the exam included the lovely language Latin. Just to prove what I've been through you may list up a few animals (it can be ANYTHING!) and I will place them in order, genus, phylum, family - depending on what I learned at school of course ^^

And now I'm on the road again. Feeling like I am preparing myself for yet another exam, even though it's not until February 7th. The new exciting block is called cellbiology. Horrible horrible block with loads of biochemistry, genetics, embryology and so on..

As you can see I have quite a lot ahead of me, and I have a lot of reading behind me (thank god) - thus I haven't submitted anything lately. But I am still online and browsing through your submissions - even though I don't comment as much as I did before.. Right now I've settled down for browsing (hope you understand).

"Tere" means "hello" in Estonia, where I've recently been. I had two wonderful weeks with vacation, where four of the days were spent in Estonia's capital city Tallinn. The Old Town is a must if you're ever going to visit Tallinn! And if you find yourself in Tallinn's old town, be sure to drop by the restaurant Olde Hansa. But be careful when it comes to the taxi-drivers, and always, ALWAYS, ask what the prize is.
Kadriorg is also a place to visit - with beautiful buildings like Peter the Great's summerpalace.

Aah, beautiful vacation.. even though the weather has been kinda bad here in Norway. Hardly any sunshine at all.. But there's one thing that shines through it all! As some of you might know I applied for the veterinary study last year (see journal here; [link] - it's at the bottom..), but didn't get in because of 0.3 damned points. But this year it went!!
I AM OFFICIALLY A VETERINARY STUDENT!!
I can barely wait till the 20th when school starts again! .. *shifty eyes* Did I just say that out loud..?

But there was also something else that shone through the gloomy weather, and that was the seventh and last Harry Potter-book. I won't write any spoilers here, in case there are some that haven't finished it yet (what are you waiting for?!), but I am open for discussions in the comments to this entry

Tomorrow is the day that we've all been waiting for, at least the day I've been waiting for. Tomorrow is the day when we move to our new apartment! We have so many boxes it's almost gross, and I can barely imagine how exhausted we're going to be after we've moved everything four floors down from our current apartment, and up five floors in our new one.. But with moving comes certain "problems". I will probably be without internet 'till we get it fixed up in the new apartment. So if you feel like I suddenly disappeared, that's the reason.

But, back to packing things down.. Wooo~

Well, we've officially moved in now! And the apartment is absolutely gorgeous! The kitchen and the bathroom are my favourites

I even consider submitting photos of the apartment as scraps ^^

Good news and bad news. Which one do you want first?
Alright, let's start with the bad news;
No inspiration whatsoever.. My poor camera hasn't been out of its bag in ages! It's such lovely weather these days, everything is turning green, beautiful birds are flying around - but do I feel the urge to jump right into it and take pictures? Nope.. not at all.. And I can't seem to find the reason why.. which is frustrating. I also have a digital drawing idea, but that's how far I've gotten.. the idea.. *sigh* Hope this changes soon!

Good news; we've got an apartment!! And I just want to move right in, but we get it around July 1st.. Which means we have two months left to live in our present apartment. But now that I know we're going to get another place, I just want to get it over with and move in. You know, decorate your new room, making the living room and kitchen just wonderful and all that.. Good thing is; we will from July 1st and on have windows in the living room! Isn't that great? Where we live now, there are no windows in the living room - in fact, we don't really have a living room. It's just an area in the middle of the whole apartment, joined by our kitchen. So it'll be nice to actually have a living room. With windows and daylight. God, how I miss daylight when I sit in our living room. Our bedrooms are more inviting that the living room - and most of it is because we have windows there (or else I think I might've died).

My apologies for my sudden disappearance! Even though I knew I was going home to Larvik for the easter, it all happened very quickly. I packed my bags on the Thursday before easter, I believe I was online too that day, and I left the day after..and didn't get back to Oslo till today. And during that time in Larvik, I had no internet-connection - thus my absence. I hope you all will forgive me

Much happened while I was gone.. everything from going on a ski-trip that nearly killed me, to the fact that I am losing my apartment. Or, the three of us who live together lost our apartment. Yep.. So now we've got to find a new place to live before July 1st. 'Cause we have to be out by then.. Grrrreat. Just what we needed. We haven't even lived here for a year and we're getting kicked out. But we're looking on the bright side and are now browsing for new apartments, and boy are there many gorgeous places to live in Oslo! Check out the features from the Chain Gallery Project under "Features". I decided not to wait any longer - it would be fair for those who actually wanted to be featured in my journal ^^

And why do I call myself a life-saver? Because that's what I was today. I have a period now where I have to work at a animal-hospital/clinic instead of being at school with books and such. I'm not completely sure what it's called in English. But back to why I call myself a life-saver; today I saved the life of three newborn pups (they were seven in total, and I got to help three of them). It was an emergency and the pups had to be taken out by c-section. And when they are not born by the natural way, they don't get the same breathing-stimulation, so when they then come out you have to help them and stimulate them to start breathing on their own. You do that by rubbing, shaking and massaging the tiny bodies. And if you were lucky, the pup would start gasping for air and soon start to cry. Though I had to admit that I felt a small feeling of panic when the veterinary handed me a tiny, slime-covered, not-moving dog with the following message: "Make this one breathe!". What a day..

The rules are very easy:

Right now I have an on-going project here at dA - and it has to do with my gallery. I know how you are supposed to get all nostalgic when you look at your first deviations, but I that didn't happen to me. Actually I got rather annoyed. They looked unfinished (most of them at least!), taken straight from the camera without any kind of editing and improvement - not even a frame! And most of them were all over-sized (guess I was still a tiny novice when it came to PhotoShop..).

So guess what I have done for about an hour! Started editing the deviations that I'm not entirely pleased with, and I started at the bottom with my first deviations. You can see how they turned out below in the "Gallery"-part - and feel free to take a full view-look if you dare

By now I have edited 11 of my deviations, and there will be more editing. I'm too lazy to do it now, but I am going to do something about some of my horrible, horrible frames. I shudder at the thought that I once found them extremely pretty and fitting. *shakes head* Away they will go!

There may be some deviations that disappear too. I like doing clean-ups, and if I find deviations that doesn't want to be improved, no matter what I try, I will delete it from my gallery.. No use having pictures that you don't like yourself in your own gallery, eh?

Well, actually, the 1 year anniversary was yesterday, but yesterday I had no way of coming online. Two reasons; I was studying for my exam (which by the way is tomorrow), and I didn't have any internet-connection in Larvik.. But anyway..:

Edit: While I'm reading and trying to remember all kinds of names, I thought I would have a little test for you guys.. Just to let you get a small peek of what I'm going through. Try to find out what these "names" are/mean:

Frankly, I hate Tuesdays. There's nothing good in Tuesdays. If you thought you were tired on Mondays, you haven't experienced Tuesdays. I thought yesterday was a bad, bad day, but today I feel worse. I'm more tired today than I was yesterday, and I will most probably be even more tired tomorrow. Crap, my body isn't capable of waking up at 6 am in the morning. Stupid lessons that start at 8:15 am sharp.

Tuesdays are also far away from the weekend. So is Monday, but you've just had your weekend and you can't miss it that fast..

Alright, this is rambling, I know.

I'm suppose to study for my upcoming exam in infectionbiology and medicinestudy. I have my books on my desk - actually under my laptop, getting smashed.. I should study..

Just wanted to let you know that I am still alive here, even though I haven't posted a deviation in ages! I've got to do something about that.. but not just right now..

Last Saturday I dropped by =wazabees site and read his journal, where he had posted a topic known as "Caturday" (instead of Saturday). He said he was doing cat-features (or something like that), and told us all to reply with a link of some of our cat-pictures. And so I did. I gave him the link to my "Who's inside?" and "That big.." - just for fun, nothing more. And guess what; both of my pictures got in his feature, which was posted yesterday (I believe). So when I logged on today I find in addition to my devwatches, 44 messages - where 36 of them are

I've hurt my finger, but I don't get any sympathy! It's my index finger on my right hand. It got smashed in a window-door-thing at work yesterday.. It feels like I don't have any nail there.. believe me, it's still intact, it just feels like I've lost it. And the fingertip keeps throbbing.. constantly!
Why I don't get any sympathy? Well, my finger looks completely normal. The nail isn't blue/purple, it's not even a little red. It is identical to my left index finger!
And because I am right-handed, I'm not too happy about holding a pen.. Thus I can't continue on -- and finish -- Maria's (*Rimfrost) contest. That I'll have to do later.. The deadline isn't until March 10th or so, so I am in no rush.

How I choose my features and at the same time -- new features! Yay!
Let's take this step by step:
- I go the search bar at the top and write a word. Like the last time, I wrote "sunrise".
- I click on the pictures that catch my eyes.
- If I still like them in full view I check the favourites.
- If the picture have less than 100 favourites I choose to feature it ^^ (yes, I know I didn't follow this rule the last time, but I will from now on)

Do you think I am unfair by using these "rules"?

Hi y'all!
I thought I'd come with a small update from my hectic life. Only three weeks left until my exam is here (December 14th), and I'm beginning to get all stressed out. There's a lot to read, and I have to catch up on some things which I haven't quite figured out yet (this has something to do with one of our "teachers" - who is horrible).

I know I uploaded a deviation recently, but unfortunately this doesn't mean that I am back. Not yet. But I still come online almost daily to check other deviants' pages (maybe not as much as I did before), but I'm still watching you all! ^^

December 15th will be a very nice day, methinks. I'm going to do something about this journal too - I'm sick of this layout. But that will have to wait. I'll probably let my subscription go out, and then buy another one after my exam is over.

Again we'll all have to be patient, but know that even if I don't submit deviations I am still here!

I'm so sorry for the inactiveness. It's hard enough for me not submitting any deviations at all, but now I can't even keep track with the people I watch. Again, SO SORRY! I don't know what to do. It seems like all inspiration has left me. Maybe I need a small break. But I don't want to do that! It's just that I am concentrating really hard on my school work, we've just started a very important subject where I can't afford to lose track of my mind

So I'm sorry, but school comes first.

So, this is why I've been a little absent lately. And this is why I might be more absent in the weeks to come. But I will be back with new deviations as soon as possible! Cross my heart!

And Tina, I've tried everything, but my layout-plan seems impossible to accomplish. I will work on a plan B, or is it C now? Anyhow, I hope the temporary layout is okay for at least a little longer (I feel terrible). I will get it finished! I promise!

Who would've thought that schoolwork actually could be fun?
Well, not all schoolwork, but the task that I'm currently working on now.
It's about kittens! And what age they should be at when they are sold.
Which is 12 weeks! Not six, not seven, not eight.. twelve!
That's right.
Incredible what you can learn!
Well, I did find this amazing site that explain everything that has to do with
kittens being sold before they are mentally ready for it.
Did you know that there are crucial mental, emotional and developmental milestones
between age 6-12 weeks?
I didn't.. but now I do!

I am also writing this task in a very oral language - which makes it more fun!
I just hope that my teacher will see some of the humor in it though...
Or else it will get a little embarassing..
Well, the previous two tasks were written in a very serious, lecturing tone..
So.. this will just lighten up my whole assignment!

Well, I should get back to it while I've got my muse by my side.
Speaking of muses. I'm still waiting for my camera-muse to come back to me.
It's been a while..
Hmm, either way; I'm going home next Saturday and won't be back in Oslo until Wednesday.

Alright, this coming and going of inspiration is getting really annoying now! Maybe it's because I don't have time to either draw or take photographies, or maybe I just don't have any inspiration at all.. Either way it seems like there is nothing to make me in a photo-mood here in Oslo. It's strange.. but seriously; I'm not a people-photographer.. I'm more like a nature- and animals-photographer. Which is lacking here in the centre of Oslo.

I'll see if I bring my camera along the next time I'm going home -- which will be not this Saturday, but the next. Yeah.. I'll do that..

Alright, I have to give most of the credit to Icyworlds.Net where there was this GREAT CSS-code-maker-thingy. All I had to do was to enter the coloursettings, create a background (oh, by the way I think I found the background on sxc.hu, but if someone recognizes it as their own; please send me a note!)

So, I now have a CSS-journal! I am.. happy.. with the result - I think..? I have to do something about my banners.. I made them in GIF-files this time, and I had to remove the old background colour from the pictures.. leaving not-so-soft edges around the characters. I'll fix that soon.. I just don't want to do it now; as I will have to re-draw the parts that are edgy.. Maybe I'll change my "Top 5"-banner too for all I know. I don't like it that much. Should I even have a "Top 5 in my gallery"? Maybe I'll start with featuring other deviants (instead of my own work )

So all in all; what do you think about:

Guess what I'm doing right now! I'm working on my Phantom-drawing! If I haven't removed it; you can see a work-in-progress-picture of it in my gallery (I can't remember removing it, so it's either in my gallery or scraps). What I have left is his glove (working on it now, which is kinda difficult, 'cause I've forgotten my technique ), his face (make it more realistic), shadows on his mask.. and maybe some more on the background (so far it's only a sky..)

But yay for drawing!!

A day that you were supposed to work with these school-tasks, but since you

hadn't gotten the tasks yet, the day was filled with nothing.

And then suddenly, today, they all appear as if they were made by magic!

All of them! And one of them has a deadline screaming "only two days left!".

Sigh... What is it with school and tasks? And not handing them out in time..?

Well, apart from that I feel like my days are divided into school, sleep, eat, and work.. bah!

Still haven't found a chess board for my photo-idea...

Double-bah..

I'm going to sleep for a few hours.. starting now..

_{What is it with certain customers?! I don't know why, but some customers seem to exist just to make you miserable! (and do everything in their power to fulfill that task) Today at work I had this Russian woman (nothing against Russians or Russia!) that never got pleased! I turned the world upside down for that woman (not literally..) and in the end I got a small "thanks" - note; that was when I handed her whatever she wanted (I've forgotten what it was.. she asked for a lot, it was hard to keep track of what she actually wanted..). Alright, so maybe she had a bad day. But I've had bad days, and I've still managed to be polite to other people. Obviously she's never worked in a grossery store (or other jobs with daily customers). I believe that if you've worked with customers for at least 2 months, you become a better customer yourself. I'm talking from my own experience. I started working in a job that required customers (duh..) when I was 16, and it didn't take long before I understood that being stressed at work is a horrible thing. So when I was shopping, and the person working in the store was stressed, I was being very kind to him/her because I knew what it felt like when your mind was running wild. So there!

Though, this entry is not all about ranting. I'm going home to Larvik tomorrow! Yeee! And I'm bringing my camera along. Hopefully, I'll get to spend a lot of time outdoors tomorrow and take pictures. I miss taking pictures.. there hasn't been many deviations lately.. which makes me sad.. really sad. I actually have an idea for a picture, that is possible to do even here in Oslo, but it's something about this place that makes me lose my inspiration once I get it. Pretty frustrating, I tell you! (yeah, some ranting here..)

But either way; I'll try to come back with lots of pictures and new deviations :3}

_{I've been a good girl today! :3 My day has been boring, but effective! I have done a lot of school work today, like printing out all notes from the various classes.

I think all that might've killed my printer.. I've printed out 29 pages today - printed on BOTH sides, so practically that's 58 pages!

No wonder there's hardly any ink left.. Aw man, now I have to buy that too! I ran out of paper, so I bought more today, and now I'm running out of ink..

Lucky me that I got to print out everything before it got empty..

So.. good girl today... right? Effective!}

_{I...am...so...tired..! It's Friday night (or late evening if you want..), and I feel exhausted. Lack of sleep must be the reason.. Not only do I have school five days a week, normally from 9 am to around 2 or 3 pm, but this week I have worked Thursday (yesterday) and Friday (today), and I also have to work again tomorrow. Ugh.. Tomorrow I'll work from 10 am to 6 pm.. 8 hours of work.. oh no! And I also have this fish-exam I have to take (and pass!). I passed the safe-food-exam two weeks ago, and from what Kristine at work says; the fish-exam is somewhat the same.. It shouldn't be too hard.. I hope. Even though it doesn't matter if you pass or fail - 'cause you can try at least 4 times - it will be very embarrassing if I fail..

Ah, and my back is starting to hurt again. I've had some trouble with my back earlier this year, and also during autumn/winter last year. I even remember when it all started; November 11th 2005. Heh, maybe you understand how painful it was if I can remember the date? And it hurt for at least 5-6 months before it started to get better.. and now it's coming back agian. Damn! I hope it won't be as painful now as it was back then.. That could get funny, since I do more hard work in my new job.. Oh well, time will tell.. (..time will tell, this bitter farewell.. - sorry, I just started singing on Nightwish's "Dead Boy's Poem".. )

Hih, Ace Ventura 2 is on TV... I hate Friday nights...}

_{Funny journal topic, eh? But I am making spaghetti! It's right behind me. Boilin' an' bubblin'! No delicious smell yet.. Does spaghetti smell at all? Well, I sure can't smell anything.

As for my exam - the one that I had last Friday - I think it went well. I know I will pass at least. Now I'm just dying to know what grade I will get. I know for sure that I won't get an A, but it would be fun to get a B ^^ At least that's what I'm hoping for.

Tomorrow we start a new subject at school. Not quite sure what it's about, but the first day it says "health and illnesses for reptiles". Ooooh, interesting

Ack! My spaghetti is boiling too much! I better go and save it!!
