Esse ano de 2009, teremos o Primeiro Encontro DEVIANTART BRASIL no Anime Friends, em São Paulo!

O projeto da sala foi aprovado, e não só aprovado, o organizador do evento quer que não seja apenas uma sala, e sim um mini evento dentro do Anime Friends!! \o/

Well.

I'm freaking mad. Seriously. And I'm gonna tell you guys why, and I want to know what you guys think about it.

Two weeks ago, I was wandering here in DA and I found a very talented Deviant - I don't want to say who is this person, some of you will get who it is, so lets call him/her "Artist" (don't try to guess or say who it is, I won't confirm)

Artist, as I said, is a very talented Deviant. I look at his/her gallery and I thought it was astuning! Artist uses a very fun, colorful style that I found it very original and beautiful, something that I never saw here before. And I felt an urge to give Artist a present, the most wonderful I could think of - a fanart of his/her main character, the most beautiful of all of Artist's creations.

I did the fanart, I posted it here and I sent a note to Artist with the link and asking what he/she thinks.

I had no answer.

But somebody commented on this fanart, saying "I though Artist didn't like people fanarting his/her characters, but it looks good..."
At this point, I started to think that something was wrong.

In this gap, Artist posted new drawings and in its comments, he/she was saying possessive "This character is MINE!!! MINE!!! ENTIRE MINE! His arms, legs, everything MINE!! o__Ó" kind of things.

Ok, I thought. Artist's upset because I didn't ask his/her permission to draw his/her character. That's ok and very understandable, and I really apologize. Really.

I didn't want to make him/her angry, I just wanted to show how I like his/her art, because if you look at my gallery you'll see that I draw everything I really love, things that I am really fan - like Pirates of the Caribbean, YuYu Hakusho, Cold Case and Law & Order SVU, for example. Drawing a fanart is my way to say thank you for those who created/plays this things.

And why am I so mad for something Artist didn't even answer?
Because when Artist said "This character is MINE!!! MINE!!! ENTIRE MINE! His arms, legs, everything MINE!! o__Ó", I felt like an Art Thief who does not care for other people's hard work. Mainly when Artist said "DO NOT STEAL THEM."

Let me say something.

To STEAL art or characters is to USE them without the creators knowledge (ok with this one), give NO CREDITS and say its COMPLETELY YOURS and MADE BY YOU.

This IS Art Theft.

And more surprises here, look.
I KNOW the characters belongs to Artist, that's why I CREDIT it to ARTIST, linked it to ARTIST's page and to ARTIST's original piece. It's called "Respect For the Original Artist and Piece".

And you guys tell me (because I'm a freaking motherfucker Art Thieve) why I wrote at the Fanart Comments that Artist's gallery was tottaly awesome with his/her lovely style?

It's a mystery for me too.
With this fanart I was saying to my watchers "Hey! Look at Artist's stuff! They are really cool!".

Yeah, very typical of Art Thieves, to credit, link and say the original one is awesome.

So, I deleted the fanart of my gallery, and from my computer - who knows me, KNOWS that every single drawing for me is a treasure to be kept, a piece of myself there, and I NEVER delete or throw away any of my art pieces.

And all this thing made me so angry that I cleaned Artist from my DevWatch and all the +fav's at my Favorites Gallery - that weren't just a couple of pieces, they were a bunch.
Because after all those signs that I made that Fanart not for me but for Artist and he/she couldn't get it, somebody who's presented and thinks it is Art Theft does not deserve my respect anymore, I'm sorry. Even if I still think that Artist's stuff are amazingly beautiful.

I just wonder what it would be if SEGA said "Sonic is MINE!! MINE-MINE-MINE!!! Don't use it without MY permission!!" in every opening of their Sonic games...

Ana Carolina Souza (born September 9, 1974 in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais) is a Brazillian singer, song-writer and multi-instrumentalist. Coming from a very musical family she grew up listening to MPB icons such as Chico Buarque, João Bosco and Maria Bethânia and international singers Nina Simone, Björk and Alanis Morrissete.

Still on her teenage years she started performing in local bars. Wishing to become a professional singer she moved to Rio de Janeiro, leaving her studies in literature. After a gig at Mistura Fina she met Luciana de Moraes and two weeks later signed a contract with BGM.

Her debut album, Ana Carolina, was released in 1999 with songs from classic Brazillian singers like Chico Buarque and Lulu Santos, songs written by herself, and some written by others, for example, Totonho Villeroy. This album was nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards.

In 2001 she realesed her second album entitled Ana Rita Joana Iracema e Carolina. In 2005 released a CD and DVD of her acoustic show with Seu Jorge entitled Ana & Jorge. The song "É Isso Ai" reached first place in Brazil's top charts. In late 2005 she announced that she was a bisexual. She has since released her sixth, a double CD called Dois Quartos ("Two Rooms"). The album received a Parental Advisory warning.

About the drastic change in my humor: I told him. Yesterday I told my friend what I felt and everything I thought about him. I caught him off of guard... and he understood me. Really. He was very sweet with me and everything, and he didn't change his way to be with me.^^ He told me that he would think about... well, us.

My friends Ana, Gustavo and Hayala helped me (and still help) so much.... I really owe them.

Yesterday evening, I went see a friend that I didn't see for a long time, and we talk. I told her my epic story and she told me wonderful but sad things about her that I would never think. I went meet her by bike, and I was running, feeling the cold wind touch my face and I felt like I could do anything in the world. Like those "I-could-die-right-now" moments.

^^ I'm happy again, I think...

Anyway.

Nice things:

- I got a temporary job at the most freaking amazing book/CD/DVD/Computer store here in São Paulo, the wonderland named FNAC. Tomorrow (December 24th) will be my last day, but I have chances of being definetly hired;

- At this job, I met a loooooot of nice people, all of them crazier then me;

- I EARN MONEEEEY!!! *_* I bought four books (“Crimsom Sybil’s Diary”, “Lucky”, “The Murder of Agatha Christie”, and “Mafia Women” o/), a pocket watch (*__*) and Madonna’s “Confessions Tour” DVD *amazing*, and I will buy a tablet soon *dream*;

- I had an attack of inspiration in March/ June, when I got re-addicted in Ana Carolina’s songs, and suddenly I wanted to write something about her. The weird/nice thing of this story is that I didn’t know anythinf about her life, so I got some of the information that I thought that could be true in her lyrics and another by instinct. Result: one day after I search her biography on the internet and I find out that I wrote a story based on real facts with more real facts that I could expect. o_o

- Besides this text, I wrote another two inspired on Ana Carolina, a silly but cute poetry for my English teacher, a Pirates if the Caribbean fanfiction (this one was wrote before my inspiration attack), some very short stories in partnership with my friend Graciela (this were a little after the inspiration attack) and now I’m writing a Law & Order – Special Victims Unit / Cold Case fanfiction, a crossover that is improving all my “writing skills”. It’s a Fanfiction that I really want to see the final result.

- I got addicted in lots of things in 2008: Ana Carolina’s songs (again), E Nomine, E.S. Posthumus, Law & Order Special Victims Unit (that consequently woke up my old Cold Case passion);

- I made backgrounds! *_____*

- I create a new style for my drawings! o/

- I made the most nice fan-made videos of my entire life TT__TT;

- I chatted a lot with my friends, nice and not-so-nice things too.

- MY PARENTS STOP FIGHTING ALL THE TIME *falls on knees as a choir of angels sings “Hallelujah”* FINALLY they solved their problems. This is an example that a conversation (or some conversations) can change EVERYTHING. Twenty years of marriage were almost threw in the garbage if it wasn’t the glorious Mister Chat -_-
- My dad and I got more close this year than any other.

Bad Things:

- The weird part. A lot of people that I know or was connected to people that I know, died this year. Mother of my friend Luciana died in the beginning of the year, followed by the father of my friend Mayara; Peggy, my fourteen years old dog passed away in June (that for me was better than lots of people I know), and days after, sister of my friend Tati, who was disabled, had some complications and couldn’t take it.

- My friend almost died when she was runned over by a car while she was going to a show; she was lucky because angels were by her side that day. Father of my friend Hayala had cancer, but it was discovered in its beginning and he was removed without bigger problems.

- Because of my temporary job, I was COMPLETELY timeless to do my stuff. The little time I had, I took to rest or to write something. To draw was impossible, because it takes lots of my time.

- On the same job I argued with one of the guys there, because he says whatever he want, hurting you or not, and because I say whatever I want, not caring if people will understand it correctly. And what pissed me off about this guy was because he was always complaining about how people do things without notice it and was exactly was he did. The first time he provoked me I ignored because I thought he was just a guy out of the ordinary. Well, it didn’t happen on the second time.

- I thought about myself this year and I find out things that are not satisfactory for me or for my parents. Depressive, to say the least.

At my, my room: Light blue walls with some anime posters; written on the walls, the lyrics of “Vater Unser”, “Luna”, “Ship of Luna” and “Ghost Love Score”, the poetry “Hymn to Ártemis” and a piece of the text “Black Filly”; a Moon with stars and a Sun that I drew on the ceiling;
