So I just saw the news post about the new customizable user pages for beta testers. Intriguing!! So I switched over to beta testing for a sec and checked it out

It's really pretty neat!! It's not lying when it says it's customizable. Apparently there's a Twitter plugin for dA now! W... well I don't have a Twitter, but I know some people that do. You can also delete things off your page that you don't want there

... the pageview stats are still there though, so it looks like the pageview war will continue

Me personally, I wasn't really crazy about it. I'm still digging the classic layout, and I couldn't really coordinate mine very well. It looked clashy, and everything felt out of place. Admittedly I didn't play with it much, but I wasn't liking anything I was doing with it xD I looked at some of the pages of the other people who were commenting on the news article, and their pages looked okay. It was like, why can't I get mine to look good?! xD So I kind of hope that it stays a beta thing, or that there's at least a "keep old layout" option when (if?) it's released to everyone

Has anyone played with their page yet?

Hmm, in other news, I'm thinking of changing my journal CSS sometime

I have really dark hair. I think it looks good on me, and I still kind of feel like it's best to stay natural until I can really cement my acting career, but...

Hmm... I don't know... I still need to debate on it... I'm notorious for making rash decisions and then thinking about them once they're already done, so I don't want to make a mistake xD Maybe I should find a dye of my natural colour first in case I mess up...

I NEVER flood dA with journals; I only really post journals if there's something dA-related to be said (last journal not really withstanding), but *bowen13 made this new tag and subsequently tagged me; I thought it was a good idea.

My name is Charil Mae Zweig. I am an actor by trade, singer by desire, and sometimes I draw things. I'm a nineteen-year-old Yankee, and I am in college. I have a foul mouth; I swear a lot, because I think it's funny. These words have no meaning to me, and I find them funny that people take them seriously and use them as if it makes them sound tougher or something wtf. I'm deathly terrified of spiders, driving, and nipple injuries. I'm severely nearsighted; I wear glasses because I'm afraid of putting things in my eyes. I'm extremely girly and I love shopping, even if I don't have any money. I follow and belong to the gal subculture. GAL. Not GANGURO. Panda makeup = RIDICULOUS.

I may be only nineteen, but I've seen a lot of the world, and I'm already more than comfortable with who I am, and who I want to be. As such, I feel uncomfortable being asked to change myself. Please accept me for what I am, not what you want me to be

Right now, it's... *think* DBSK's "Rising Sun". It's a very high energy, pumping song, it makes me want to run And of course Morning Musume's "Mikan", my all time favourite. It's a very optimistic song with uplifting lyrics and a very catchy tune, it makes me feel happy

I was cleaning out half of my room today while everyone's out ( and I could therefore blast Eurobeat as loud as I wanted >>; ) and I found some pretty... embarrassing pictures of myself as a kid.

My sister's First Communion. Look at me, trying to look mature and grown up in my nice clothes. Too bad the PUFFY HAIR completely throws that attempt out the window. Jeez, did I OWN a brush...?

Actually I think this might be more embarrassing to my mother than it is to me. For further reference, no, my mother is not, in fact, a clown.

Before I tried the "grown-up preteen" look, I guess I tried the "hussy kid" look. Look at me. Even the look on my face just screams, "Yep, I'm huss-tacular". But I think the thing that bothers me most is CHRIST, girl, you can't wear THAT shirt with THAT... skort... thing!! In fact, don't wear skort things at all.

And don't pull it up that high, for crying out loud. You look like an old man.

And get that stupid blue thing out of your hair.

A lot of things happening in June.

First off, I'm going to apologize in advance: I'm... kind of maybe going to be idle for like. A month. I'm going to New York on the sixth, and seeing as my scanner is a combine-printer and is huge as butt, I'm leaving it in North Carolina. I'd like to scan some BTRN pages before I leave, but I can't promise it'll be much. The rest of Ch12, pretty much. And as for commenting and being one messengers, considering I have a three year old sister who idolizes the shit out of me, I can't say I'll be online much >>;

Also steadily approaching in June is my birthday. Yeah, in nine more days, I'm going to be nineteen. I'm both... excited and scared as hell. Excited because I'll get to have dinner at the really good, expensive steaks restaurant in my town

Scared as hell because, in my mind? I JUST turned eighteen. This year went by WAY too fast, I can't even tell you. It's like the years always dragged on forever, and then as soon as I hit adulthood, zoom, it's just gone. This is some scary shit. Seeing as I presently live in the furniture capital of the world, I can't say I've done anything toward achieving any of my goals. Granted, that'll be a helluva lot easier come August when I'm living in New York again, about forty-five minutes from The City, but if this is how fast things are going to move, I need to start seriously booking. Not to sound like GrantM, but in my preferred line of work, age is important. Sure I've done a buttload of amateur work, but that doesn't count for peanuts in the actual industry. I have a long way to go, and if the years are going to zip by, I'm wasting precious youth.

Hmmm, but June also brings good news for you guys who like reading the crap I churn up, haha! Clockwork Atrium is officially started again (come 1amEastern), which means new story and characters for you guys to follow I'd also like to make print books of this one this time (and hope that I can stand to look back on the older pages when it gets to that point, coughBTRNcough), so if any of you guys go to comic or anime conventions, lemme know about it and I'll try to get an art table to sell them at!

I have a yawn stuck, and I can't get it out. I feel like suffocating >>;

=gatogirl12345 reminded me, that on this submission, I offered a free sketch to anyone who correctly guessed the anime character I'd doodled. She got it right and recently brought it up again, and so I got this idea:

I make a lot of obscure references... like, all the time haha. Every submission I've... well, submitted has a reference. Most are named after songs; usually I link to the song it's named after. Well, no longer. From now on, I will keep up with my references, but I'm going to play a game with them.

Whoever correctly guesses my references will get a free sketch of whatever they want (that isn't hardcore porn)

The references could be submission titles; they could be something I say in the comments, or a bit of dialogue in a comic or text submission. It could be the submission itself. It could be something as obvious as a song title, or obscure as... well, the quote in my signature, or my deviant name, for one

The only rule is, you can't get a sketch if someone's already guessed the reference. If two people post the right answer while I'm offline, I'll give it to whoever posted their comment first based on the time stamp on their comment.

And if you really want a sketch for some reason, you can cheat and Google my references

I'll mention in my comments on my submissions where the reference is I hope someone will play!

So, I made it to the last round of dABR2. Holy ASS. I'm pretty excited, as it's the farthest I've gotten in one of these tournaments

At the same time, it's a rematch with *Aikin!

I do not get whyyyyyyyyyyyyy everyone is whining about the new favourites system. It makes zero sense in my tiny little mind. Because seriously, it's SUCH A HORRIBLE DISASTER TO NOT BE ABLE TO SEE GOOEY EYED ANIMU DRAWINGS OF AXEL DOING ROXAS ALL OVER THE PLACE ANYMORE, YOU GUYS.

People are saying -- I'm going to go out on a limb and assume every bugger I've seen complaining about this is either an OMGPOPULARARTIST who draws aforementioned gooey eyed animu drawings, or is a fantard of aforementioned OMGPOPULARARTIST -- that there is no good art on the popular page anymore. And... yeah, I'm just not getting where that's coming from. I'm looking at the popular page right now, and I see a LOT of really nice stuff from people I've never heard of before. This piece, for example, is really lovely. And this one. And this one and this one and this one and...

Long story short, WHY are people complaining? This just made it EASIER for them to get on the popular page because it isn't monopolized by the same cookie cutter artists and emo photographers all the time! And so what if your OMGFAVIE artists aren't on the front page anymore? They're on your watch, right? ... right?

And concerning the populars, it's not like well-known artists are COMPLETELY kept off the front page now. I'm seeing stuff from *Rimfrost and =reiq and =Neolucky right now. But OH GOD THERE'S VARIETY AND NEW ARTISTS MIGHT GET SOME RECOGNITION, THIS CANNOT HAPPEN.

Yeah, so pretty much don't ever trust anyone but the company that made your electronics to fix something.
