I think some people are too uptight and concern themselves about things which are not that important. They are too caught up with their struggles that they don’t have the time to enjoy the journey of life. Most of us in the field of arts are very free-spirited and it is our role to present a touch of what is beyond our reality, something that is different. I also believe we are all dreamers in a sense, but as we grow older, we tend to forget to touch the clouds.

Nag seserch ako sa internet ng magaling na artist na pinoy, Eto magaling [link] kaya lang nasa austrilia ata eh. Sayang, sa recto lang ang shop niya, medyo malapit. Sa cartimar naglilibot din ako pero gusto ko informed decision kasi medyo malaki pagagawa ko. Yung sa [link] mukhang big time, baka mahal sumingil...hehe. Presedente ata ng phil tags yun. Mukhang magaling din yung mga artists niya sa shop. Baka may kilala kayong underground na magaling, yung wala sa internet. Yung mga sa mall na nakita ko medyo iba yung style, di ko masyado trip. Research research muna para maganda ang resulta.

Umakyat ako sa taas para tumingin ng artwork, dun sa main gallery sa gitna may exhibit na malupet... malamang eto ang pinaka-malupet na exhibit na napuntahan ko, tinandaan ko ang pangalan ng artist pero nakalimutan ko, basta nagsisimula sa "R" yun, Romel? Rodel? basta "R" yun. Sobra naimpress ako sa mga iskulptuyr at paintings niya. Lumang idea na pero maganda ang execution, bale Juxtaposition ng mga hayop, mga tao at mga pop culture characters. Mga rhinoceros na may paa ng tao, mga manok na ulo, mga nakahubad na may ulo ng bunny at syempre mga skulls. Gusto ko ngang magtanong kung magkano pero nakakahiya sa curator kasi wala akong pera. Astig pa dun sa likod ng gallery, may madilim na parte parang twilight zone, may techno music pa. Di ko ma-explain kung gaano ako natuwa nung mapadpad ako dun. Narevive ang paghanga ko sa mga Pilipinong artist at art scene dito sa Pilipinas.

Nakakasawa na kasi ang paintings ng mga "human interest" kuno at mga pa-epek na "snapshots of poverty". Realistic nga, Technically sound nga, Magandang pang-display sa opisina, pero walang ibig sabihin. Di ka na mag-iisip kasi binigay na sayo lahat. Walang Thrill.

Kaya pag may oras kayo pumunta kayo ng megamall, umakyat kayo sa taas at tumingin ng artwork, bumili kayo ng Monakiki, tapos pasalamatan niyo ko kasi cool yung nakita niyo. Cige bye!

Meron akong nakitang mga back issues ng culture crash sa filbars sa Robinsons gale at sa Greenbelt. Malamang natago nila yun sa budega at ngayon lang nakita ulit, o kaya mga issue yun galing sa probinsya...ewan ko. Matagal na kong naghahanap ng mga back issues neto, di kasi ko bumibili ng cultre crash dati, nakikibasa lang ako sa klasmayte...hehe. Issue 10, 13,14 at 15 lang ang meron, wala nang iba. Ok rin, Nostalgic

Oy, maganda ba ang mangaholix? Pa-review naman ng mga istorya, para kasing ok rin...pero ayoko nung banda na nakasuot ng parang power rangers, looks so corny...hehe. (disclaimer: di pa ko nakakabasa ng mangaholix, kaya lahat ng opinyon ko ay base sa pa-bra-browse ko sa National Bookstore ng nakabukas na magasin)

Eto pa, astig. Nakabili ko ng Green lantern at Green Lantern Corps na Sinetro wars sa Comic Quest Megamall. P50 lang isa, anim na issue, di ko nakumpleto pero ok na kasi idol ko si Geoff Johns at is Green Lantern.

I didn't really enjoy it as I thought I would, maybe because I read the interviews in wizard and pretty much knew what was going to happen. Nonetheless, It was a good effort of Marvel Studios for their first outing in film production. I heard many people really liked this movie, especially the thing at the end after the credits...I've read rumors that "he" would appear so I pretty much ruined it for myself.

I'm more excited now about Watchmen and Dark knight and maybe Sin City 2 and The Spirit.... I'm on the fence with Hellboy 2 and the Wolverine movie.

There was an excellent exhibit upstairs where original artworks by redondo, alcala, conching, victan and other greats in philipine comics. I can't imagine how those guys became so good. Those pen and ink drawings should be hung on a museum wall. We went home at about 5 pm. Before that I went to Quiapo. I was lucky enough to see a copy of Viewtiful joe 2 and Dragon quest 8 for ps2, I hope they work. Overall a great day for me.
