Ok so in case it wasn't clear by my last two uploaded submissions, I am a HUGE FLCL fan. It is probably the only show I liked the dubbed version of and if you haven't seen it before, do yourself a favor and check it out (it isn't hard to find at all and is in it's entirety 6 episodes.)

Thanks for everyone who faved or commented on stuff while I've been gone, I don't really use DeviantArt at all anymore except for the rare occasion that I do something that I'm very proud of. School pretty much keeps me busy and it will be especially so next semester (fall 08) as I will be spending so much time between student teaching and (hopefully) being an RA.

Anyways, just wanted to update being that my last wassss Halloween?

Thanks for all comments and favs and watches and what have you, I appreciate it all even if I don't get a chance to comment back to you, and I will try my best when I occasionally check in to get back to people.

Well it would appear that I'm more active on Deviant Art now, for no real apparent reason. So what I'm doing is to go and fill out my gallery with more or less everything that I've got, with sources or otherwise. Being that I haven't drawn in at LEAST a year and a half some of these date back to when i was in 6th and 7th grade (I'm a junior in college now to give people some idea.)

Sooo yeah, blast from the past time, time to throw up everything, things drawn on lined paper, things drawn with references to other drawings, things drawn literally completely identical to other people's drawings. Because while honestly it's kind of stupid to copy other people's art, (I realize this now.) there's no reason to be ashamed of it because it literally is a learning tool (and an AMAZING boost of confidence, which we all know that we need sometimes)

Alright, let's see where it goes.

the past 2 days have been filled with the musical goodness of indie concerts. Saw the Walkmen in New York, and Sunset Rubdown with Frog Eyes in Philly. Both shows were sweet beyond words.
Which was better?
Hard to say, the Walkmen show was just a no bullshit concert filled with continuous musical goodness as well as an occurance of indie concert mosh (almost unheard of, but usually happens wherever i go)
The Sunset Rubdown show was awesome because sometimes Spencer Kreug is in 3 bands, and sometimes all of them are ridiculous. Also sometimes you have to sing a song outside on the steps, have it heard by Spencer Kreug and then have him open the show by covering it.
Sometimes.

In a word both shows were RIDICULOUS. Fuck all you indie kids who think you're above dancing at shows, wherever I go you better believe its gonna be a dancefest. Music is beautiful and again it angers me that Deviant Art has no section for music. Because apparently music just does not fall under the catagory of art.

This is totally random but i felt like doing it.

1)Futurama - It NEVER gets old. NEVER. Each episode is so jampacked with jokes that each time it gets better and better. Family Guy on the other hand uses shock value jokes so it gets old fast. Plus Zoidberg is the single most lovably pathetic animated cartoon character ever.

2)Cowboy Bebop - Yeah its anime, but its so much more than anime. It does exactly what it set out to do. It created a genre all of its own which no show since has been able to recreate. Every character in the show is three dimensional and has depth. In my opinion one of the best shows period.

3)Mr. Show - For those of you who haven't seen it, go do it right now. And watch any episode all the way through, because if you stop anywhere in the middle, you'll be majorly missing out. It literally is a stream of consciousness except of comic genius. Similar in fashion to Monty Python but the jokes tend to be more intelligent.

4)The Boondocks - I honest to god feel like the world would be a better place if more people watched this show. Some of it may seem to liberal, but that's often just to contrast with the world and to make a point. The MLK episode and the last episode of the season were both amazingly powerful and funny to boot. Truth rings in the frames of this show. It doesn't get nominated for the NAACP image award for no reason. Watch it. If you have half of brain it will hit home.

5)Harvey Birdman - Possibly the best parady show ever created. The attitude and unique style of the show is fantastic not to mention the amazing starting concept. Watch the intro carefully and it will be one of the funniest things ever (well it was for me because well timed rape jokes are AWESOME) Needs to have more episodes created.

6)Pinky and the Brain - One of the better shows I had ever seen EVER. Plots of world domination are good enough on their own but when mixed with antromice it just becomes something entirely different. Such a simple concept, such an amazing creation.

7)Aqua Teen Hunger Force - Great show but at times is very similar to Family Guy in that the only joke that they could think of is to make something ridiculous happen. Thankfully that doesn't happen as often as it seems.

8)Robot Chicken - If anything comes close to the genius ridiculousness of Mr. Show, Robot Chicken I would say is it. The small segments all for lots of jokes and usually they're pretty good (note the usually) Plus claymation is the shizit.

9)Late Night with Conan O'Brien - Conan is the man. Period. Plus new episodes basically every night is a huge huge plus. And the bands he gets to play are amazing. Its such a nice feeling to watch indie bands get some air time on TV. Hopefully though he doesn't lose his flavor as he moves up in the late night schedule.

10)Family Guy - Great show, but comes in last on the list because new episodes have been going down hill and the almost constant use of shock value jokes and randomness. Very funny the first time, but constantly decreasing joke value from there. Cannot watch any episode more than 5-6 times without getting sick of it. Seth simply cannot compare writing skills with that of Matt.

Incase you hadn't noticed I don't like that many live action shows. Or non-comedy shows. Basically if I'm watching tv I'm trying to avoid drama not get my fill of it. Also [adult swim] is the absolute shit. 12 oz mouse would have a place on my list but its hard to get a feel for the show after so few episodes. Anyways, that was amusing. Off to the outdoors.

Also, for some reason people actually seem to be visiting my page a lot more than they used to. Don't know why, but whoever you all are, you're awesome.

all of the photos in the 'but is it art' series are up now. Basically all of them have been posted in the art photography but i will take them down in a week or so. The goal of the series was to see what people consider to be art photography. Personally I believe that the definition of art photography has become absurdly loose and as such I want to know whether or not you all feel that the photographs are art or not. A simple yes or no will suffice, if you would like to expand than that would be fantastic.

yeah, so i was looking at my gallery and noticed that a lot of the images looked a little white washed or were missing that feeling of pop, so I went back and rescanned them and resubmitted them.

So here's the list of the editted deviations. You can check them out if you want, if not its cool.

[link] Savior of the bored (which looks much better now)

[link] Gift to Tracy (which looks moderately better. The contrast is nicer)

[link] Gangsta Mashi (which looks somewhat the same, but it has a bit more depth now)

[link] Seeking Truth (this is pretty much my absolute favorite drawing that I've ever done. Has much more depth, looks cleaner and is overall better. Check this one out if any of them)

[[EDIT]]
Because of a lot of commentary about my commentary, I decided to do something like a survey. Basically, I want to find out what people consider to be an art photo versus what is total bullshit shots. So basically I went around the campus and took photos of everything i thought was borderline, and after 150 or so shots, I have weeded through them and am now going to post them as deviations. Please comment on them whether or not they should be considered art. Note that there is significantly less photos posted than taken because a lot of the photos included architecture, so I decided to not use those because people might think that it is about the architecture as opposed to the photo.

Well, I think I'm going to put up pictures on Deviant Art at the rate of one a week (although I've been going at a considerably higher pace recently.)

For Deviat Art Veterans, I could use some assistance in terms of how to get a clean transfer of an image onto the computer utalizing a digital camera (4mP) and no fancy art programs (I use MSPaint, lol) Everything comes out dark and I'm losing clarity as well as detail...

Another problem is the fact that a decent amount of my good stuff is complete on lined paper (I draw in school during class when I get bored) and the lines make it even harder to get a clean transfer... I guess I'll be transfering those pictures to white paper so I can get a cleaner digital version.

Yeah, so some problems but I'm working through them. Advice from seasoned Deviant Artists is very welcome.

Despite the fact that the first 4 deviations were photographs, I am by no means a photographer. I'm not even going to claim to be. Those pictures were actually taken with a disposable camera, lol. I got lucky I guess.

Anyways, so I have a lot of stuff to put up on the account, but I think that I'll gradually put them up because if they all went up at once then no one would actually look at them...

also I don't have a scanner so all the stuff is done by using a digital camera and then cleaning them up a little with MSPaint.

So here's the first of the many drawings to come.
