Lord Maxime started to hate his wife for trying to take control of their kids, so to show the kids who was boss, he killed their mother right infront of them. Eiliyah was 6 years old, so she didn't get that her mother was never coming back, but her brother swore to his father on the spot that he was going to get revenge for his mother's death, even if it was the last thing he ever did. Lord Maxime didn't take his son's threat to heart and sent him to a relative in Crimea. He sent Eiliyah to live with relatives also, in Begnion.
