Comments

Despite not commenting much lately, I've been checking out many deviations, and I noticed a few things.

I find it really annoying how some "popular" artist never reply to comments they get on their pictures. I understand that they might not have too much time, but for that few questions, I can't believe that they can't get that little amount of time to answer them.
I think it's ok not to reply to comments like "Cute!" and such, but if the commenter has something reasonable to ask...
Even I feel bad for the people who take their time to comment and if they ask something, they don't even get replies.
If artists really have no time to read comments, they can just disable them, or if they do read it, I don't think that few minutes 'wasted' on answering questions would affect their life so much.
I think one of the main point in DeviantART is to create contact between artists and their fans/watchers, etc. That's why people are able to comment on pictures, and learn from the good artists, mostly through asking things they don't know yet.

But don't take it personally, probably none of my watchers are like that, but I'm still sad to see this, and this isn't really a big issue actually.

What people should stop doing is the nonsense 'first comment' thing. Seriously, I can't believe I'm the only one annoyed by it. If "First comment" is all a person has to say about a picture, then that is really sad. I see deviations daily with that certain comment. There is only one person that makes me smile when I see her doing it, but otherwise, I think it's a really bad habit of people.

Then there is one more thing that annoys the hell out of most artists, and that is the infamous comparison topic. I've seen it discussed several times lately, but I'll say it too, maybe more people will understand it: it's really rude to compare people's original characters to already existing ones, especially if they only have like, hair colour in common. I know that not everyone is offended by those comments, but the commenter never knows. It's natural to find similarities between characters, I'm not an exception to that either. But that doesn't mean it has to be said. I think intelligent people can tell when to say something and when to stay silent. It's not a sin to think about it, but I think it'll hurt people if their beloved characters are being compared, and can feel that they are not good enough to create unique characters. Which is not true at all, well, most of the times.

The moral of the story: please think before you comment, I'm sure you don't want to be compared to Quasimodo just because you have short brown hair

So, a happier topic, I was wondering if anyone else felt it before, that they liked the trailer of the film much much more than the actual movie xD I guess that means being disappointed in the movie itself ','

I really like watching amvs, and I love well-made trailers a lot too. First time I had this feeling was when I saw the Watchmen trailer a lot in the cinema, and gosh, I was so excited for it, and I'm still in love with it, I don't remember waiting for a movie so much before. Dang, that trailer is so well made that I could watch it for hours! I love the song too! *o*

And then, came the day when the movie was released. I liked it and all, because I'm a sucker for movie adaptations of comics, but somehow, I feel like the trailer was much better

After that, the trailer for Harry Potter 6 came out too. I was sooooo looking forward to it, I would even say I went to the cinema only to see that trailer xD (ok, well, not really, but it really was awesome), and when I saw the movie itself, well, it wasn't bad or anything... but still not what I was looking forward to.

though it may be because I didn't read the book

I read each of the books up to the fifth, then, for some reason, I stopped, even though I have all the books T-T

And maybe it was the same with Transformers 2, but that was a cool movie too. Somehow, I feel that trailers often make the film look better than how they really are. That must be because they choose all the awesome scenes from the movie, and then if they manage to choose a very nice song, then even the crappiest movie can have a great and interesting trailer.

Same with amvs, sometimes, a simple amv is much more interesting than the anime itself '-' though, I must admit that many times, the amvs are what make me look into the anime, and I don't always regret it. For example, Akira or Naruto, they both are animes that I started watching because there was an amv that really caught my attention, and made me interested.
(well, Akira didn't required that much watching, if you know what I mean, but I did stopped with Naruto, for certain reasons. But it was good while it lasted ^^ )

There's an other category, that I think might belongs here, is the anime vs. manga. Sometimes, animes are only made as a preview of the manga, to get more readers. Those animes usually doesn't end the story, series like Fruits Basket, or Elfen Lied, Ouran HSC... I loved those animes, but when I looked into their manga version... well, they weren't as nice (for me) as the animes.
Most of the time, mangas are much much better than the anime, but these cliff-hanger animes seem to be better than the manga itself. Of course I can't say that's a fact, because I don't know that many series like that, but the ones I've seen so far are like that.

What do you think? ^^' Have you been disappointed of a movie because it wasn't like what you expected it to be? (I'm sure most of us have been, though ;;; )

Just a quick commission update (only doing chibis for now), since I've been asked quite a few times, though I must mention that I'm not in any serious debt, I'm not pregnant and my guinea pig doesn't need any medical treatment either, so it's really unnecessary for you to share your financial status with me. = no comments like "I sooo wanna commission u but im poor, I have to feed my family so I can't buy one from you" or "I'm underaged and I don't have paypal but I'd commission you"

Happy New Year everyone!!

This year was pretty crap for me, everything around me changed a lot, including me too. TAT I'm very disappointed in some of my friends, and I could write a lot about how my family ruined my life in some cases and how I became much more sceptic and distrustful, but I guess no one is interested in that. :'D
Though I had a few nice times too, like meeting many many new people and being a bit successful in things. Only a bit though~ hehe

My only new years resolution is that I will try to be happy, even if life goes hard on me, because this little human life of mine is too short to be wasted like this. I won't be annoyed by every single sentence I read or hear, and I'll try to think more before I reply. I'll try to appreciate the people around me more too.
Then again, I still dislike more people than how much I like TwT I'm just a weirdo like that ~<3

I have a question though :'D Is it normal that my guinea-pigs always sleeps with his eyes wide open?? Dx ALWAYS.
It's a bit scary now, and I tried to search further info on them, but I couldn't find anything concerning their sleeping. We'll take him to the vet in a week or so anyways, but I'd be grateful if anyone could help me ;o; I wish I could see his cute sleeping face TAT;;

Yesterday night I was browsing through upcoming movies and this is what I found. Akira is going to be a movie with real actors??? Dx And what's more, it's said to be directed by Ruairi Robinson (I don't know who is he though

) and starring Leonardo DiCaprio who is also the producer.....
Is this really true? Someone knows anything about this? ;w; I collected a few links about it because at first I couldn't believe it but... it sounds very true. What now? ;o;

Akira is my very favourite japanese movie so I was shocked to hear these news. And I don't think that the feeling and the atmosphere of the original animation can be remade in a live-action movie, though on some sites they say that the movie will use the manga as a base and not the anime.

What are your thoughts? ;-; I hope it won't end up like the Dragon Ball live-action ... not that I have seen that already, but I do have prejudices, because it can really ruin the whole series for some fans. The actors don't even look like how the characters are supposed to. But I'm not going to bash it before I've seen it.

Is it possible to make an anime into a VERY good live-action that worths watching?? (by americans) I'm not talking about the Death Note and Sailor Moon (though that was ridiculous imo... ) ones, and the others I don't know about.

I'm in a ranting mood now anyways, may be because of only sleeping for three hours then going to take an exam which I passed, but I asked the teacher to fail me, so I will have a chance to get a better grade, because the one I got wasn't too good, and the teacher said that a girl with such a pretty name like mine should do better at the exam, which wasn't actually that hard but I should have studied more, and this is still one sentence.

It's not like this is you only choice either, I think you can still have the old layout too. If it bothers you that someone else has the bright one, just don't go there, its not like you can bash anyone for having a purple or a blue coloured room for example. Their taste, their choice.

I usually don't write journals about the new stuff dA makes, because others write fairly enough of it :'< but I hate to see that ppl are only complaining about new stuff. Fortunately none of my friends or the ones I watch complained about it, but I see all those comments on moderators pages and it makes me sad that people just don't appreciate the effort of the ones that brought these improvements to us. I remember how unpleased everyone was with the new frontpage too, and normally by this time you should have gotten used to it, so it can't be that bad.
I understand that not everyone likes it, but most are like "wtf its new and bright, I hate it" It might not be that bad only because it's new.

I haven't been drawing anything, just junk or junker than junk ;; This is just to find excuses for myself; I'll really be doing the things that are on my to do list, which actually doesn't even exists.
I also want to evolve my style into a more cooler one, because to be honest, I don't really approve of the one I have now. It's not that I hate cutecuteanimestyle , but I really want to have a more 'serious' one. First, I'll have to learn how to draw some basic stuff

Oh, and big news (for me, at least xD ) I recently saw that Arina Tanemura is going to make a new series o///o I'm so happy, she's my all time fav mangaka (second one would be Peach-Pit, haha

Hello all ;-;

uh, I feel so ashamed for leaving so suddenly without saying anything.

The truth is that my computer crashed and I had no pc nor any internets throughout July and August. Then I got a cute little laptop, but we had difficulties installing everything on it. I couldn't restore everything that I lost but nyahh :< at least I can use the internet.

Summer has ended and I didn't draw anything. That's disturbing

I didn't have too much time, but I hope besides uni I'll have a bit of free time to draw ;-; all I want is to finally finish the art trade for ~nondekin and what I promised for ~kawaii-shugotenshi

About school. Well, I started university, and I'm really happy that I got to go to the uni I wanted to go to!

I chose the English Major, and it seems pretty interesting! I hope it won't be too hard though >w<

But honestly, I imagined a younger voice for Kid. But Miyano Mamoru is the best seiyuu a character can get x3 imo. How old is Kid anyways?? I don't remember seeing his age anywhere @w@

I've been a fan of Slothy's works for a while, but it always disappoints me to see her pics get such few views and favs/comments, etc... She draws amazing pictures of her OCs

When I look at polls with the question " Original or fanart" originals are mostly in majority. So now, how comes that people still prefer fanarts when they say the opposite of it?? @_@ Even crap fanarts can get to frontpage... and it really annoys me.

Well, hi ... !
I've been away for like 9 months? I'm still having exams, but I decided to come back because I'm still interested in art, especially in my friends' pictures. I felt bad for not being able to come and comment on them TwT Everyone has improved so much!

Sorry for not really replying and not being active, I really don't want to seem like a self-centered someone who doesn't bothers commenting on others stuff or just simply not even dropping a thanks for being kind enough to fav one of my pictures or watching me. I've seen all of the messages in my inbox (which I've already cleared ... there were more than 4000 >w< ) and I appreciate each of them.

I haven't really been drawing either, but I'll try my best to fill my gallery up with new pics and scrap the ones which are in there atm Ë-Ë

And and... I think I've changed too >w<
I'm finally out of my one-year-long depression and I seem to be in a better mood too ^^ I also stopped wounding myself, I hope I can keep myself to my promise (it also left not so pretty scars on my hand... so don't try it T-T )

I hope I'll be able to post some pictures in my new journal <3

And it's almost school time as well =< which means, no time to draw nor be active here... (though I feel so bad because I wasn't that active during summer either ._. I'm so lazy >///< )

I wasn't too busy actually, so no excuse for me this time TwT

But I had time for getting into new things *w*
Like.. I started reading and watching Death Note, Rozen Maiden and Harry Potter at the same time @w@ it's pretty impossible to keep up with all, so I went with Death Note only

on a side note, yeah, I suck, I only started HP 6 now TwT

1. First of all, I almost never criticize... I'm really bad at it and I don't want to make people feel bad, I'd rather point out the good parts of the pic rather than the bad.
(but I must say that critism is really important and it really helps improving, so I just hope that there are many critics out there )

2. I really rarely add anyone to my watchlist nowadays, and that's not because I don't like the art, but it's because there are way too many on my list for me to keep up with the new submissions and journals, and I really want to respond to my friends. so don't ask me to add you, I will decide it on my own

3. I dislike self-advertisement... even though, sometimes I understand it, but I still hate it. For those who sell their art it's natural and a really good thing, but it really annoys me when people just say "visit my gallery plz" not writing anything like hello or have a nice day...

4. I'm so lazy, I always have at least 1600 notifications T_T and not because I'm so popular =<

5. I usually dislike my drawings right after I finish them... and sometimes I can't understand what do people like about them when it's full of mistakes D=
I'm not always that pessimistic though...

6. I hate art thieves with a passion... and I like making fun of them D= how mean of me...
