So. Amanda has been to many doctors lately. Mostly for her eye and more recently for her spine.

Eye - Exotropia - Nothing too serious. Just gotta do some patching with the high possibilty of laser eye surgery to correct those muscles in the future.

Spine - Curve/Scoliosis - Again, nothing too serious (we caught it early, at least) and it's a minor curve (roughly 15 degrees) with a tethered spinal chord in her L3 (Lumbar region *lower back near tailbone* 3rd vertibrae).


We went to see the Neurosurgeon today about her Tethered Chord and got the following report:

We will have to get surgery on her spine to cut the tethered part from her spinal chord. it's not a must, but it is strongly recommended, so we're going with it. Nothing horrible, just a simple snip. He said that the tethered part was pulling her spine downward which is more than likely the reason for her curve/scoliosis. Doing this surgery may very well get rid of her scoliosis entirely. Worst case scenario on that is, it won't fix the scoliosis but it's a definate that the scoliosis will not get worse from that point. He said that in cutting the chord "free" he might actually get a small nerve ending that might be attached to that region of the chord, but the most that will happen from that is a little numbness in her leg/legs and that will eventually go away.

He also said that he felt very certain that she will be able to go on and play sports, become a cheerleader and do anything else a normal and active child would want to do in her future.

She will be in the hospital for roughly 3-4 days (or more, depending on her rate of recovery) after the surgery to ensure that her incision would heal alright and not reopen in any way - also to monitor her... etc... After that, he said she would be ready to get back to whatever she wants as she wants to. He said in most cases, it will set back her urge to want to walk and stand for about a month at most, but that's a small price to pay.


We have her appointment set for this coming Monday (July 27 - time is currently TBA) so we will more than likely be in the hospital for most of that week. if you want to talk to us, call my cell - leave a message in case my phone gets crappy service. We'll check it every few hours or so.

in short - i went through my watch list and got rid of a lot of people that i had noticed didn't do much/didn't know at all/started doing a new style of art than i enjoy .. or... did too much in a style of art i found interesting to look at, but not always my favorite.
i did keep all my friends (both close and semi-close) as well as quite a few Anthro and comic artist, but needless to say - i had to have deleted close to 100 people.
My many apologies if i deleted you but i kept getting overwhelmed with daily deviations and what not. i was starting to just delete everything without so much as blinking at anything everyone had done/said and that made for a sad wolf puppy. BUT! i'm happy to say that i only had 14 deviations to look at from this week and only 6 journals. So now i'm a happy wolf puppy. :3

Hmm... guess that was the longer but simpler version.

From here on out, i'm only going to watch you if you do something special for me and/or i know you. Thanks!

Also, just finished reading "Equal Rites" by Terry Pratchett! Loved it! :3

i never really knew Furp. i think i might have seen him a few times around Anthrocon '07, but i never really knew him personally. i never talked to him, but a small part of me feels like i knew him. And being a fellow furry - he was that distant cousin you knew about but never really got the courage to go and visit them during a roadtrip or wandered over to talk to during a reunion.

i heard the news about his death this afternoon on Livejournal and just felt horrible. From what i had read from all the comments... He was a man who loved many, gave to many and never asked for anything in return. He saved lives and risked his own on a daily basis.

What Billy Joel wrote for one of his songs is true. Only the good die young...

Ok... so, i took my little youngin' to the eye doctor this morning. Her pediatrician noticed something funny about her eyes and wanted an... eye doctor to check it out. He says she has "Exotropia" which is where the child (or person) will focus onto something with their right eye and let the left eye wander, then switch up - now focusing through the left eye and leaving the right to wander about. At four months, he didn't consider it an issue. Merely a problem....

So, i take her to see an eye expert who confirms the Exotropia, but notices that she seems to favor looking with her right eye more so the left. So he calls in a nurse, dialates her eyes (which she found amusing once the drops began to work... lol) and brings her over to another room where they break out this papoose thing and ask us to lay her on it. So we do, and they pin her legs down, bind them up tight, then do the same to her arms and shoulders. Now she looked like a blue caccoon! Which is one thing Amanda was clearly not fond of! She puts up a fit only for it to grow worse since they had to keep her eyes open and shine extremely bright lights in them. it tore me up, but good and bad news came from it in the end.

The good news - The doc found nothing wrong with her nerves, muscles and other misc. things that he thought would be the cause of the favor to her right save for....

Bad news - She's probably (most likely) farsighted in her left eye. But he made another appointment for April to see if it improves at all over time. if by her next appointment nothing has changed, she might have to get glasses or a patch to strengthen her muscles in her left eye... or worse... laser eye surgery to correct the problem after she turns one or so...

Oy... The worst part about all of this is... She's woken up a few times since that episode with the papoose in a panic. Now we know what freaks her out into screams in her sleep... >.O i just hope she'll have better dreams for the rest of the night now. X.x

Thanks to a day spent with Mirkossia, Sparkstealer, Dhakia(?), Aiko(?) and some others, i've remembered how to make that Kaluha drink and spent the morning of the first drinking one of the small bottles mixed with Whipping Creme and Half & Half! XD Funny thing is, i drank like... 4 glasses of it and didn't even feel a buzz... Then the next night, i drank a wine cooler and got all warm and fuzzy on just half a bottle. O.o;; Someone explain this to me?!
i also found out that i love clothes shopping for Amanda, but i get conpletely frustrated in doing so at the same time... There's so many cute things at Wal-mart, most of which would look absolutely adorable on her - but they would never fit her anymore... it's like... they stop making onsies once the kid reaches "12 months" of age. Problem is... She's only 4 months old, wearing 12 month clothing... She can't sit up completely on her own yet so two piece outfits kinda suck unless she has a onsie under it holding it in place... otherwise the shirt slides up to her neck and pits... X.x That makes for a very uncomfortable and fussy Amanda...

Granted, he was close to 15 years old, but... he died saturday morning... And i still have yet to overcome the strong amount of sadness i feel...

Well! This has been an eventful summer and fall. O.o!

Most of you (if not all of you) know by now that I had a baby back in August... and she is one of the most precious things to ever happen to me. I recovered from the delivery pretty well and I've managed to keep my weight down around 160 which is the lowest it's been since my Junior year of High School. She hardly cries and she's generally a pretty happy baby. She only just recently started to smile (alot) but she's still working on her laugh. XD She often times ends up scaring herself for a split second every time she tries to laugh or giggle, but she's getting there! XD She's a very healthy baby, but she's big! Not fat, but big! At her last check-up she was bigger than 95% of babies her age. She was born at 9lbs 3oz and 21.5 inches long As of October 24, she's 14lbs 8oz and 24 3/4 inches long. I think she might have grown another inch or two and added a few more pounds. XD

But she's happy and healthy and that's all that matters. XD

As for me:
Drama....

I swear... if something else happens to me I'll have a panic attack...

I recovered from the delivery really well, but it never fails for me I guess.
I managed to get a job - then lost it before I could work 2 full weeks (this was after one week of "volunteer training"). Turns out the company sold itself to another employer and they wanted to work with the people they already had, so they laid off a bunch of people including myself, of course. Lame... Then I got this job at the daycare here in town, but I'm only considered a substitute and I'm on call for any time they might need a spare teacher for one reason or another... I'm considered employed, but I don't get but about 4-6 hours of work a week (if I'm lucky)...
Then, at the end of October I had this horrifying pain in my chest. I thought I was having a heart attack or something, but it was on the wrong side of my chest to be such... and I wasn't passing out. I had an "attack" similar to it twice already within the few days prior to, but those weren't nearly as terrible. The first was a simple 'hunger (extreme) + muscle knot beneath the shoulder blade' pains that was easilly remedied by laying on the couch for a few minutes. The second time (the next night) it felt as if the 'knot' under my shoulder blade had gotten bigger and spread to my side and spine. This was remedied after a couple of hours of resting on a heating pad then sleeping the rest of the night through the pain. I was fine all that next day (or third day, as it were)... but then... on the fourth day (a thursday), I literally thought I was going to die...
I woke up with the baby, as usual. Made her a bottle and started to feed her in the recliner when I felt that strong hunger pain again. Which struck me as odd then because I'm very well fed (if not stuffed all the time) and the only thing I could think of was "I hadn't eaten breakfast yet - I'll do that after she goes back to sleep". But before I could finish that thought, I noticed the pain under my shoulder blade started back up and was rapidly increasing. I got up to bring the baby to Stephen before it could get much worse, but to no avail. I was in tears by the time I got to the bedroom. Before long the pain made it hard to breath. I couldn't lie down, I couldn't sit down, walking made me dizzy and standing didn't help. The pain had spread to the entire back side and all throughout my chest. Stephen called my physician and his mom, my doc thought I was maybe having an asthma attack because I was breathing like I was and told me to get to the hospital. Stephen's mom made it home from work shortly after to watch the baby and we raced to the hospital. By the time we got there, the pain had subsided only a little and they rushed to get my blood work done. Before I knew it, they had given me a strong pain med (practically a sedative) and got me in a wheel chair to get an X-ray of my chest. They brought me back to my room, for a half hour or so, then got me back in the wheel chair to Ultrasound...
Turns out, I had Gall Stones out the Wahzoo! and one of the bigger ones was trying to escape into my stomach through the bile duct that was way too small for it to fit in to begin with. But by the time I had made it to the Ultrasound room it was nearly out of the duct and into my smaller intestines. There wasn't any damage done to my duct according to the pictures they took, but they still sent me to a surgeon.
I was home for the weekend, where I worried about such a pain reaccurring since the docs at the hospital all said that I had a lot of stones just sitting in my Gall Bladder, but come Monday, I was sitting in the Surgeon's office only to be told that I needed to have my Gall Bladder removed to prevent such an 'episode' from ever occuring... ]]> ~Chiyekao http://Chiyekao.deviantart.com/journal/20120510/ http://Chiyekao.deviantart.com/journal/20120510/ Sat, 23 Aug 2008 21:05:59 PDT

This are just a few of the pics we've gathered of Amanda Marie (my baby!) She was born on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 6:32 pm. She was 9 lbs. 2.5oz (3oz on her Birth Certificate - they round up), 21.5 inches long and her head was 14.5 inches around.

These pictures were taken just after she was born, so she has yet to get a bath at this point. Can't wait to get more pictures of her out to you guys now that she's home! <3

Oooook... So I can't change the mood from "shitty" - so don't believe that...

Well.... Seing as how the last journal entry I posted was back in MARCH!! >.< I will post an update...

As you can tell, I haven't been drawing much.... or at all for that matter... My muse has just been MIA since Amanda started kicking in the womb. I think she's ust jealous and she'll come back once Amanda has gotten used to sleeping at night and stuff...
SO! Once my muse decides to return, I'll definately get things back up and running...

In the meantime, I've been playing WoW. And... I've found my favorite class. *turns to her first character ever* Tahima, I love you, but you just aren't the right one for me! D: *sniffles*
Don't get me wrong! I love my Druid Cow. XD But my Priestess has just stolen my heart. I can't play my druid without flipping out everytime I get attacked with "OMG! OMGOMG! Where's my shield?! - HEEAAAALLLZZZ!!! D:" Then I remember that druids don't have shields and heal as quickly as I can. I'm still gonna get her up to 70 though. She's SO CLOSE! Granted, she's still at 60, but she's SO CLOSE!! XD

But! In Newer News:
The past few months have been surprisingly well! Little Amanda has been growing "Happy and Healthy" since my first visit, but unfortunately - it seems she's also taken to laziness from both her parents. >>; She was due on the 13th... (Last Wednesday) but apparently she has yet to come out and say hello to the world... XD I DO - however - have a doctor's appointment today to find out whether I get enduced today or Thursday, so there will be a little Amanda to show off by Thursday... XD I'm hoping... hoping, hoping, hoping! that he'll send me to get enduced today. She's really putting a wear and tear (no pun intended) on my stomache... especially when she stretches *goes cross-eyed*. SO! Cross your fingers guys! And hope that there'll be pictures put up by Friday of the little one! :3 Or sooner! :3

Oooohhkay.... So it's two in the morning... I'm all by myself... watching animal planet......

Well, I'm not really by myself. I got Girl sleeping next to me... THAT'S RIGHT!! I said Girl. That's her name. She's a Chihuahua named Girl... >>;; And no. I didn't name her... Stephen's Father named her and the whole family even named their tomcat... Kitty...

I'll stop babbling about random stuff...

To put it simply, I'm bored... I can't draw - because Rogue (Rog-way) is in our room being her spazzy self like usual. Which means she'll pounce and attack my pencil if I even attempt it no matter how many times I push her away... And I can't draw in here because it's dark and Terra wil start to yip and squeal in high pitches, possibly waking everyone in the house, should I turn the light on.... So... Unless I go into the bathroom...

Yeah...

We should be getting my scanner over here soon... It's still at the other house, but we're slowly moving in here... HOWEVER!! I AM completely moved out of my grandparent's house. FINALLY!! lol... They're planning on moving themselves into their new place within the next week or so. I'm excited for them!

And... After many many hours of Animal Planet and playing with the animals here... I think I want to become a foster parent for an animal shelter of some sort... Before I go on to chase bigger dreams... Hopefully I'll foster big animals like... Wolves or Tigers... But I want to wait until my kid is roughly five years old before I start on the smaller ones like dogs and cats... >>;;



Guh... I feel like I'm just rambling... I'm So.... BORED!! D:

Well! I'm feeling rather victorious at the moment! *treeworshipper has this challenge that they decided to start. They made a list of 50 of the most popular characters out of various video games, Manga, Anime, and other related topics with the intent of drawing each and every one of them in her own artistic style. The twist she put on this challenge was that the first fifty people to comment (guessing a number) would get to take part in this challenge...
She didn't post the list up where everyone could see it and asked that everyone picked a number... She would then reveal the number they chose and now THEY would have to draw that same character in their own style. No two people will get the same number (obviously)...

By the time I got to post a number, most of them were already taken so I posted 3 numbers (2, 14, and 49) in case one was already taken... I wound up with number 2:

Well now... This was indeed a challenge for me... One: because male anatomy is so foreign to me... It even scares me whenever I pick up the pencil with a male in mind... For some reason, they always come out girlie... But the other challenge was... I... don't really have my own style... Most of my "style" consists of copying something that already was, or looking at another's art as examples on how to go about drawing a pose, or body part, or facial expression, etc...

But then it hit me...

I am an anthro artist... Anthros are what I'm better at drawing than anything else, in my opinion... So I looked up a bunch of pictures of dear ol' Vincent and after some long, hard though... I figured out just what kind of Anthro he became... >3

Can I get any guesses? X3

It actually didn't take me all that long to finish the picture once I had the creature in mind, some ref pics and an eraser to go with the pencil I managed to scrounge up. It actually took me less than an hour and I did a little pencil shading to kind of add to the effect. To put it all into a few choice words.... "Damn! This looks AWESOME!!"

I'm actually afraid to color it too! So I'm just going to leave it in pencil. :3

But hey! First person to guess what animal I chose to draw him as will get a free pencil drawing (one character - Full body) with some shading as a prize! >3 Heck, why not make it the first three to get it right and I'll just note you if you guess correctly? XD That way others get a fair chance. :3



In other news:
I finally got my lazy ass up to the Medicaid office and applied for pregnant woman's Medicaid... which means I can FINALLY get to a damn doctor and make sure everything is ok.
I'm pretty sure everything is alright, as I haven't had anything wrong... my belly is slowly getting to a more rounded shape instead of that small roll of pudge I had before hand.... and... my appetite is slowly but steadily increasing... Not by much, as I still can only stand one full plate of food and a bowl of soup at my favorite Chinese buffet, but hunger is more often and it's clearly audible when I've gone more than 4 hours without eating. Even if it is nothing but a snack...

I've also got the urge to get up off my ass more and try being active... I've kinda slacked a bit since I quit working...

I finally... FINALLY got caught up with all those deviations... If you remember, I had like... over 5k in deviations to go through and that would have taken me ages without a sub - but then =Venaeli helped me out by ordering me a month sub to speed things up a bit... and by golly did it help! Thanks hon!

SO! all 5k+ deviations are sorted through all 1k+ messages have been skimmed through - comments made where I felt it necessary - and NOW! THEY'RE ALL DONE!! *throws a party where everyone is invited!!* YEY!!!

This means I have more time to get back up to date on a bunch of things. lol! Like the lists both above and below. Keep in mind, I'm aiming to finish the list below before I start on the sub commisions.

Anyways. Seems I forgot to do my consistant saving on the art piece of ~DragonLadyZinnia 's I was coloring, so all my progress was accidentally deleted by a very sleepy fox. Poor guy was upset after he found out what happened, but I assured him it was ok and now he's not upset anymore. <3

After all, I can just redo it over, and who knows! It might look better the second time around! So! It's going to be a little while longer before I post anything new, because I'm determined now to finish something for a change. And then, the fox - my fiance - wants me to attempt humanoids to do a couples pic of our WoW Characters. >>;; Happy joy joy? Wish me luck on that...

But he's also wanting to attempt the coloring stuff I do on the pic as well, so I'm considering it a new challenge...



Oh! Speaking of challenges, I'm thinking of putting myself up to a BIG one. One that will help us out financially, me thinks. We are not, unfortunately, going to be able to make it to Anthrocon this year, and depending on how things turn out, perhaps not the following year either...

The due date is set roughly at the middle of August, but it's said that first time mothers are more likely to have an early childbirth.... as early as 2 months... And because Anthrocon falls in June/July.... I'm not taking any chances and I'm staying home.... this year....

It all depends on how the baby reacts to "costumes" as to whether or not we'll be going the following year. :3 Oh... And our finances. :3 Of course.

ANYWAYS! <3 I'm thinking of setting myself up for commissions. Badges especially, as they are quite easy and affordable - in the long run. I'll have to see if my paypal account will allow payments to go into his bank account - for the simple fact that one bank screwed me over and now I'm not allowed to have another bank account for 5 years - to kinda help us along with bills and stuff. :3

Well. I'm no longer working... More to be explained on that later, but I AM going back to school soon. Just gotta sign up for a grant... or two...

I got almost all of fave's deviations sorted through. I did have over 5k deviations to look at, but now, thanks again to =Venaeli I've been able to bring it down below 2k over the past few days. Please forgive me if I don't favorite everything... (*Like I used to*) ... but I've still got many more to go through.

But! Going back to the first bit about no work - I have more time for other things... Like getting my WoW characters to 70, finally... Tahima had been sitting at 41 for almost a whole year, now she's almost 48, and I made a whole new Paladin 3 days ago and she's already at lvl 25.

Also, because of all this free time, I've been taking breaks here and there between my overdosing of WoW to draw and work on completing something for once. ~DragonLadyZinnia will be proud of me - as well as very happy - to know that I'm almost done with coloring her picture. :3 I've spent like 7 or 8 hours on the piece already and it looks absolutely kick-ass! Not to mention my fiance is making an effort to kick me in me arse to keep working on it. His excitement in seeing it completed has gotten me excited for the same. :3 Now I can't wait to finish it (almost done! :3 ) and posting it up for all to see. :3

I'm thinking about leaving the net for a while.

I've been gone for nearly a month on here and only two people cared.

I mainly just have a lot on my mind lately. This that and the other. The whole moving thing is the biggest worry. I don't want to move and yet I do at all the same time, yet I know that either way I'm going to have to sooner or later. I kinda want to be left alone while not hurting any feelings, yet at the same time I get way too depressed whenever I'm by myself. I hate my job only half the time - depends on who is working that night - and I can't sleep during the day unless I starve myself of it and go to work two times in between sleep. Or unless I pass out, in which case I risk being late for work. And I might get depressed if I'm by myself, but at the same time, the depression gets worse if I am at home.

Bah. There's just too much chaining me down and not enough time or energy to help me dissolve the binds and figure things out. I need to de-stress myself.

That might take me some time. So don't get mad at me or worry if I disappear for a very long time. I'll be back eventually.

I'm not sure whether I should be happy to be home, or sad to be away from my newly found place of belonging.

Yes, I'm home.

I made lots of friends in Anthrocon and I've even gathered some huggle-fluffs, fan-arts, and EVEN free foods and treats from random furs that I've met. OH YEAH! I even got beeped on the nose by a fursuiter named Brendan! XD His fursuit slightly worried me at first, since he appeared to be a rough looking wolf with a rabbit strapped to his lower jaw (the limbs had the velcro thing going on and wrapped about the lower jaw with the body of the toy bunny in his mouth.) BUT! He stopped and stared at me for a moment until I was sure by this point that he was in fact staring at me alone, then he started to wave me over with a paw! XD I blink then step forward when he pokes my nose with a gentle claw. Of course, I'm in my wolf-ish mode and rub my nose a few times which he seemed to get a kick out of and did it again only to have me beep him back. That's when he shook his head then put a paw on each of my shoulders to touch his nose to mine. I blinked a couple more times before I giggled and hugged him.

Fun times.

OH YEAH! And 2's show was hilarious!! As are most of his rants. Not to mention, the mic he had to start with died on him so Uncle Kage rushed to get him a new one, which still failed!! But third times a charm, and Kage even rushed onto the stage, put the third mic in 2's hand and MWAH!!'d 2 on ze lips! XD Hilarity insued! 2 was so incredibly red after that, it was histerical!

Oh! And the day after we got there (which would have been thursday) there were protesters sitting outside with signs that read "NO FURS! POOL'S CLOSED!" and "YIFF IN HELL, FURRY FAGS!" The best part about that whole protest (there's two, actually) was about an hour or so later when 2 AND Uncle Kage BOTH went to stand in the protest with them! They "protested" with these guys for quite a while until it started to rain a bit and they offered to take them inside out of the wetness that is Pittsburgh. It was then that the real protesters looked at 2 and Kage and asked "Who are you guys? Where are you from? "
2 and Kage: Oh! We're the guys that run Anthrocon!

XD Yeah. That was awesome! And I love 2's response to the sign that read "YIFF IN HELL, FURRY FAGS!"
2: ..... DUH!! What else do you think we're doing?!

By the way, if you don't know who 2 the Ranting Gryphon is, check out his web site! XD I'm sure most of you will find it greatly humerous! :3 Though I'll advise that you wear headphones if you listen to any of his stuff.

Oh! And I got to see Rob Paulson (I think I speeled his name right)! The voice of many, but namely Pinky (NARF!!), Yakko (Animaniacs), Raphael (from the original TMNT Cartoon series) and many many others. X.x He sang Yakko's song of the countries twice! Once at the beginning of his... thing and once more in the middle for Grandma Kage! :3 And YES! He still remembers ALL the lyrics! :3

As I've said, I've made plenty of friends at Anthrocon! All of which I'll be expecting to see at future cons! :3 One of which I'ma give hugs to - Teej. Mah Puppeh leech friend with the bottomless pit of a stomache - Ash ( *Skarrbag - Hope you're still enjoying your time in America, hon! :3). Koisquixen, Flying Fire (who went by Silverwings Dragon this year, me thinks), Sketch (A Dalmation), Key Whitewolf, Shiro, Fox in Boots, Seifer (who I still owe a commish to. I will get it done before friday though! XD), Karo (Not Kah-Ro. Kay-Ro... Like the Syrup.) and a few others who I sadly can't remember their names, BUT I STILL KNOW THEIR FACES!! So it counts! XD

Speaking of Koisquixen, I'm excited to announce that she's going to be making me a fursuit for next year! :3 It's going to be a complicated suit as it is, but she's so awesome! I even made her some new badges, but one was a bit too big to put into a badge sleeve thinger. BUT! She loved it so much, she said she was going to laminate it and make it as her door sign for the years to come! *luff!* I'll be posting some pictures as it gets closer to completion so that everyone can see it! :3

Hmm...

I've been thinking. And I've been thinking long and hard about this too. (*Can't you see the smoke? XD*)

I'm tempted to open up commisions for Anthrocon badges, but I'm not sure that I have many watchers interested. They WILL be cheap. I'm thinkin'... 3-5 dollars in total. Fully colored - but mostly just a headshot (or bust shot) of the fursona, plus the name colored digitally or with Prismacolors. The digital color will cost more, of course cause that's extra effort. X.x But yeah.

Tell me what you think and spread out the idea, please? Some of you might know more people than myself. At least - more that will be going?

And if you ARE going to Anthrocon, PLEASE let me know so that we can maybe... hook up or something?! <3 I wouldn't mind getting some food and chit-chatting or finding me a snuggle-buddy amidst the furdom! :3 *Needs more snuggle-buddies anyways* No, seriously! Yes! That's right! :3 I'm making it an official contest and there are TWO PARTS to this contest so that EVERYONE can participate.

I know that not all of my watchers can draw, so the second part will be for them.

CONTEST PART 1: For those that CAN draw!

Listen up! :3 And read everything! :3

I'm in the process of getting a tattoo from *WildSpiritWolf to place on my left shoulder to be in memory of my father who passed away back in '98. What I want from you guys is something to resemble my brother and sister to put on my right shoulder!

It can be Black and White (Tribal will also be considered) or Colored by your choosing. I would prefer color, but seeing as how the one of my father probably won't have color on it in the end (requested it B&W) then Black and White is fine too.

The picture must have a BEAGLE and a WOLF interracting somehow. And they must be happy or content in some way. The Beagle will be representing my brother (just recently turned 7) and the wolf, my sister (soon to be 12). Some ideas for the tattoo/pic:

Playing/chasing a ball
Playfully batting paws at each other
Wrestling (nicely, please...)
Cuddling
Snoozing (Wolf curled up with the Beagle flopped over top of it would be cute! :3 )

I know for a fact that I'll make the prizes for first place a full year subscription to dA, one pic drawn by me and colored (Colored pencil or Photoshop), and possibly the permanent use of your submitted art (with rightful credits, of course).


Why possibly? Because the contest will be on who can draw me a tattoo of a Wolf and Beagle either playing, sleeping or cuddling together. A tattoo is permanent and I have to really truly ultimately like it for it to be on my body forever.

BUT!! There WILL be other prizes for those that participate! Just not sure what yet. There will also be prizes for those who bring in strays! XD In other words, if you advertise my contest and a person comes in and SUBMITS me a tattoo design as well as leaving me a comment/note saying "So-n-so advertized your contest, yo! For those of you who haven't noticed, Billy Joel is... The Man... in my book, anyways. His style of art is absolutely amazing... and catchy! He's also the first artist that I can recall listening to back in my younger days that wasn't country!! >.O My Daddy used to sing me to sleep with his song "Lullabye" as well as road trip while the two of us jammed out to "Scenes from an Italian Resturaunt". So Billy Joel plays a big role in my life and I got to go see him in concert.

Now granted, I broke out into crocodile tears about 3 songs in, because he sang my Daddy's favorite, "Vienna", and it reminded me so much of my Daddy, it struck me. BUT! My daddy is in a better place now and no longer in pain. So in a long, around-about way of looking at it, they were happy tears. Meh. Memories are good to hold onto.

But! To make the concert event thing even more better, Billy Joel walked out of the Phillips Arena WITH THE CROWD!! Michael bumped shoulders with him and it amused me. XD

What is the character you've drawn the most? (Can be original or fanart)
Kylinari, my gaian persona. She's completely random, though so she's not always the same. :3

What colour do you often use?
Black

Any colour you are bad at using?
White, surprisingly.

When drawing people, where do you start?
The eyes or the head. Mainly the eyes however. That seems to be the easiest thing for me to draw!

What is a character only your eraser will love?
Sadly, it seems that my second ever fursona would be the one that my eraser hates.... or maybe that's just my muse? O.o;;

Which of your works took the longest time?
I have several that are currently taking me a few months to complete, but that's just because I'm lazy most of the time. I did however have a drawing I did back in high school of a dragon hatchling. It took me up to 4 days total of straight and complete attention to finish entirely.

What techniques do you use when you want to improve in drawing?
Books, pictures (google is my friend) sometimes I look to music or keep myself from sleeping during the weekends. I'm an odd little wolf pup. <3

What art tools/media are you good with?
Pencils. Pencils pencils pencils. Erasers. Pencils, inking pens (Microns) and then Adobe Photoshop CS. >>;;

Art tools/media you are bad at?
Anything that involves a brush. >>;;

What do you think about your own art?
I more often then not surprise myself whenever something entertaining erupts onto my paper.

Do you consult magazines for your drawings?
I have before. But it was one of those "Wild World" Magazines that takes you into the life of a certain animal, or something. O.o;;

It's unique and one of a kind. And the fact that I can point to it and say, "THAT'S MINE!! <3" makes me happy.

Either humming to the music I'm listening too, chewing on a toothpick or both.

Most definately! My favorite direction, most times.

Funny thing is, I have yet to go out and buy/order any alcohol! O.o;; I was so excited about being able to do so and I haven't yet. Odd, hmm?

Ah well. I guess the money issue is part of the reason.

ANYWHO!! I've recently discovered that my artist muse refuses to show it's face during the day, and only wakes up right as I'm about ready to fall asleep... XD So you'll be seeing a lot more of late night doodles from me it would seem. I have to be careful about doing it too much, if I start making a habit of going to bed at 5am then I'll have a big problem. x.x

But hey! I got a job for some of you folks out there *hopes that there's some of you who read this*

I need some titles. Something that I can work off of or randomly imagine a picture for. I might do something special for the titles I actually manage to get pictures for. <3

The Updates:
1- Seems I've left my Art portfolio in GA over the holidays and I won't be getting it back until after my birthday... T_T I had a few really good pieces going... *sighs* I only hope the dog doesn't get to it. X.x
2- I'ma try and re-create a few of my pictures (seeing as how a couple of them were Art Trades promised to a couple people here on dA. X.x And... I have an Art gift for Myths that needed to be inked! D: I'll do what I can to persuade them to send it to me via FedEx or UPS... X.x Or something... BUT! I'm going to try and recreate it! O:!!
3- I'm finding that I like my Tauren piccy very much! I'm probably going to make pictures of the rest of my characters on WoW to get a better grip on a different art style that isn't anime based. >>;;
4- MY NET IS STILL FUDGED UP!!! >.< I still can't get on any messengers or anything similiar that requires a constant connection because the net hiccups ever now and then and bumps me off in the process... D: It makes me sad... D:

Second, I'm still working on the sketch of the Art trade I'm doin' with Soulshelter. (Forgive me, still getting used to HTML and I'm not exactly sure how to add their icons and shtoof). The toes are giving me a hard time, and I might just finish them lik how I usually draw toes instead of trying to be randomly cool with my art style. >.< The only thing wrong with trying to draw at the moment is that my muse is starting to play games with me... I hate it when she does that... >.< She's doing that whole "I'm going to be here, annoy you to draw then when you finally get the paper and the pencil, I'm going to disappear again, snickering like crazy!! <3" ... ¬.¬ I'll keel her........

1- Cleaning:
And I don't mean just a quick tidy, I mean actually cleaning.
My room mate and I have literally moved two dressers out of the bedroom downstairs into the store room right next to it and have gone through ALL... *repeats* ALL of the laundry - summer and winter - to prepare for the colder months which are already biting us.
In the process of moving things around, we spilled a trashbag onto the floor in our process of moving it from the back room towards the garage. The spill put a foul odor into the air and attracted bugs from a few genres to it's dwelling. X.x We managed to clean that up and got the stench out of there within a day or two, but the bugs weren't quite so easy to ward off. So! We've set off a few bug bombs and are now waiting for THAT smell to disappear... yey...

2- Because we've been cleaning, bug-bombing, and rearranging things, My computer has been off and out of reach for a few days now (notices it's been near a week) and I'm currently typing this from my g'ma's comp upstairs which holds no messenger systems like AIM, YIM, and MSN and refuses to accept downloads due to lack of hard drive... x.x *mumbles something about her g'ma being more of a pack-rat than herself.

3- This is no relation, but I've been doodling some more, along with a couple of other hobbies that I'm currently too embarassed to announce just yet. (Might post up some pictures eventually - and no it's nothing bad.)
Anyways, I saw this on "Kherrigan's" Journal and decided it was an awesome idea! :3 *sends Kudos to Kherrigan*

It started off with friday:
To get everyone up to date, my grandfather has had a strange growth appear on the outside of his skull, but under the skin, so they went in about two months ago to remove it. The only left a small slit on hi scalp which was easilly healable, but the growth came back about a month ago. About two and a half weeks ago, they removed it entirely, leaving a hole in the back of his head.... x.x They had it pretty bandaged up, but you can still tell it was a hole.

SO! Friday, he had an appointment at the hospital to get a skingraph done, and surprisingly, my uncle said he would rather work then take g'pa to the hospital... So I called my boss around 8 in the morning and told her the dealio and she said that was fine, as long as everything turns out ok in the end and he's fine and dandy... She told me to take care of him, which I did.

We were hoping to be in and out of the hospital by one, allowing me time to make it to work before the kids got there at 2:45, but... luck had it in for me and had us wait until 12:30 to be called back into the prep rooms... Then we waited until 2:15 before he was wheeled into the OR. Yey. I then spent the next hour in the cafeteria trying to calm myself because I get really stressed in hospitals, regardless of the meanings I'm there for. (I've had some bad past experiences.)

So I call my boss at 2, telling her what was up and all that, and she just told me to stay home today and come back in on monday. YEYGOME! X.X

The good news is, he came out of operation/skingraph-age as fit as a horse! He was his old stubborn self after coming around, and kept telling the nurse to let him dress himself. To hear him say that was good enough for me... XD Although, the funniest part is when the nurse finally got him dressed and turned him to sit him down in the wheelchair, he looked up at her and frowned, "I can still walk you know, but I guess I can go for a ride..." and without missing a beat, he turned to me, "Now let's go get a milkshake!"

Yep... That's my g'pa, still a stubborn old coot, but still a child at heart... XD

Saturday:
I slept through most of Saturday morning, but I had my Teen Champions game to be at at 3, which was quickly changed to 4, but that was ok, we were running late anyway. My room mate/bestest friend of 8-9 years (major shock to us... WE'RE OLD!! T_T .. X.x) plays too, which is fun! Our characters are connected... sort of... >>;; Long story... When the comic comes out, I'll be sure to linky them! :3 I will make you GUESS which character is mine... >3

Anyways, the game lasted until close to 1, which was mainly because midnight hit and the GM had previously advised that when someone notices it to be midnight, to tell him "You have ONE hour to wrap this shit up." which I think three of us did... >>;; Including my phone's alarm... XD

Sunday:
Ah... my rest day... I slept in until 11, mainly beacuse I couldn't sleep anymore, but... ~shrugs~ I played WoW most of the day. Got bored AGAIN! so I made two more characters and tried to confuse the guild, but failed. Seems I have the trademark ":3" and other related faces that I just can't seem to 'not use'. Habit, perhaps? :3

Wow... yeah... that was habit... XD

Anyways... Here it is, monday morning, and I'm sitting here waiting for one... x.x yey... My roomy should be getting home soon... :3 I better go put in a load before she goes all... Rawr on me... >>;;

PS- And yes... Water is Satan... x.x It's a liquid that you need in you daily system, BUT it has no taste... and when it does, it tastes like dirt or metal... or random artificial flavors that man created to give it a taste... My definition...? WATER = SATAN~! >.O
