Well, it's about the new year, so it's time for a bit of introspective looking onto my life.

This past year... didn't start off so well. Unemployed, no means of getting a job, and in a depressive funk. Life tried every damn thing it could have to get me down.

Somehow, through all that crap...

I found a job. A real job. like making enough to make rent and then some.

I found someone. No, really. It's like that song the Monkees wrote... "Now I'm a Believer". I finally got smacked upside the head with a clue by four.

So, my life now?

I've got a job, in less than two weeks I will have my beloved moved in with me, I've got my internets back...

Looks like things are taking a turn for the better. Thank Goodness.

This weekend was... umm... yeeeaaaaaaa.

First off, my friend gets into a car wreck, rear ended at a red light at about 40mph. He's already got a table up in Artist's Alley, non-refundable. So he calls me up to help since he simply cannot do it himself.

The Con itself was... a nightmare.

We had no room, because we were counting on his truck working, which was totaled in the wreck. So he had his brother come and pick us up. It's an hour drive to his place. Each way. So we had to get up even earlier than we already had to, after staying entirely too late. Then... well, let's just say Drama struck and it got worse. I'm not going to get into it. I'm really really not.

The food was outragously and stupidly expensive. Granted, the Con was at the Hyatt Regency at Reunion Tower in Dallas (the 'Lollypop Building', the tall one with the ball on top which figures so prominantly in the Dallas downtown skyline), so you were going to get stupidly expensive prices for everything. Ten bucks for a cup of coffee, for example. So we tried delivery. Average delivery time? Hour and a half. Average price for two? $30. Most of them had a MINIMUM $20 for delivery, and generally tacked on a delivery fee (Jason's Deli had a 5$ delivery charge, then the driver asked for a TIP on top of that! I told him if he doesn't get a cut of that $5, he needs to find someone else to deliver for, how's that for a tip?).

No one had any cash after Saturday. I really wasn't too surprised at this really. After all, 90%+ of all the people at the Con were seriously ADHD, so they already purchased their shiney things long before they got to us. So our sales stank compared to what it could have been.

There was a J-Pop web-radio station down the row from us. IkkiCon was on the other side of us. They got into a volume war over who had the loudest speakers. I don't know who won, but my ears lost. They're STILL ringing.

There was a young girl no older than 12 who was running around in a Bible Black outfit. If you know what I'm talking about, I don't need to go any further. If you don't... well... umm... let's just say it's one of the more infamous fetish hentai around which includes non-consentual bondage, rape, and snuff for starters then goes downhill from there. Yeeaaaaaa. And she was walking with her father! Clearly, he did not know where the outfit came from. A friend of mine decided to enlighten him. "Umm... excuse me, sir, but do you realize your daughter is wearing an outfit from a porno?". Yea, she's pretty blunt. But it caught his attention.

The Con went on from Friday to Monday. I had a job interview 10 AM Tuesday. The results from that interview is a whole 'nother rant about it being the most disorganized business I've ever walked into, who didn't even give me an interview because they over-booked the interviewer and their system was down. So AFTER a hell-con, I had to get my arse up at OMFG O'Clock to get from one end of the D/FW Metroplex to the other, only to find that they weren't ready to give me an interview after all.

I'm going to go eat something, take a shower since I've been moving my mom out of her apartment all day since after the interview, and fall on my nose. Probably in that order.

Today, Tuesday, July 17th, at approximately 5 PM CST, Cinnabar passed away.

For those who are not aware, Cinnabar was a half-arab quarterhorse chestnut colored bay. Yes, a horse. He was the inspiration for my persona and was the horse I used to pattern Clyde's colors. He was 31 years old, so it is not as though he had his life tragically cut short. About a week ago, he cracked a hip in a nasty fall on some slick ground because of all this rain we've been getting. Well, apparently he overcompensated and cracked his other hip. With no hips left to stand on, he was unable to continue standing, and ended up causing further injuries in his fall and his failed attempts to get back up.

At least now he can run with the wind like he could when he was a state-champion racer.

Well, this past week has truely been one of the worst on record.

Of the many things which went wrong, my computer is dead. By dead I mean fried. The surge protector it was attached to is also very much dead. The monitor seems to be okay for now, but I can't get my computer to turn on.

So, until I can get my compy fixed, I'm not gonna be on line much. I refuse to simply get a new computer, even if I could afford one (which I can't), because there's too much on my compy which hasn't been backed up yet.
