Not much happened here. Planning to make a scrapbook with all my prints in it for myself. I'm being pissed right now at UPS, because they somehow don't get managed to deliver my lens. Stupid company. You better use FedEx than UPS. Trust me. But actually, that wasn't the reason I'm writing this journal entry...

I got the three rolls back I mentioned the last time. You'll find my blog entry here. So I've been to the darkroom again, printing some photographs. And guess what was awaiting me there...hundreds of free printing paper! There are loads of Ilford MG IV pearl and glossy printing paper. That was a nice surprise! I also found out, why the contrast still was way too high when I used gradation 0. It's because I accidentally bought fix-graded printing paper. What a way to start!
I applied last week for economics at the university of Zurich, starting Sept. 08.

Just dropped three rolls off (two TriX, one Portra) to get them processed and I'll get them back tomorrow

(yaya, I don't process them myself, shame on me) Erm, I've been to the darkroom twice since the last time and it's getting easier and easier. I didn't figure out the 0 gradation thing yet, because although I'm using 0 gradation, the contrast's still way too high, meh. Ordered new printing paper as well from Agfa and Ilford.

What is going on lately on dA? All I see is crap. I browse through Street > Newest, but it seems as if all great photographers are on a strike (except a few, like ~timuryueksel ). Don't even talk about Photography > Popular

for the nice colours, blur, emo-selfs, nice pose, nudes what-thefuck-ever

Personal Stuff

Just came home from the darkroom. There's an automatic processing machine for printing paper and guess what ÂÂ the first thing I had to do was changing the chemicals of the machine. So I spent about one hour until the machine was ready. But in the end everything worked and I was happy. The shop sent me 30 papers although I only ordered 25, lucky me.

I finally have now access to a darkroom! I'll get some printing paper from Foma tomorrow, so I think I'll spend my Tuesday afternoon or evening in the darkroom and will try my first prints. Woohoo

. Can anyone recommend me some RC printing paper?

I wanna thank you all for the attention you are paying me and for the support you are giving me. I hope you are all still with me in 2008 and that I'll still deliver what you're expecting from me. Meanwhile, I've got another project in my head. You maybe have already visited Zurich. Or maybe not. Nonetheless there are lots of little stores in the old town of Zurich. I'm trying to portrait them with their owners. I'm not aware of anybody, who has already done this before. There have been a lot more of these stores, but they disappeared. You know. Those little stores, managed by only a few persons. Lovely old stores, which had been there forever and then replaced by some Starbucks or whatever modern fuck. Nothing against Starbucks though. I like the Caramel Macchiato. But they just don't have the charm these little old stores have.
