Alrighty, lets see how this types out after playing nothing but Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines all of today and tonight up to right now, about 3:00 AM. It’s an addictive lil bastard, and probably will hamper my studies more so than they were before.

Anyway, yes I am back once again, sorry for the delay, etc, etc. I have to say though, the reason for a lack of posted material was due not to laziness like all of the previous times, but rather a mixture of my assumption that my work really wasn’t to the finished degree or good enough to which work posted here should be, and that no one was really interested in my work all that much anyway. Lately I’ve realized that I really shouldn’t be taking Deviantart all that seriously. It’s a nice forum for critique, but its not like a website send an employer to look at after you show em a demo reel. That and there are less finished pieces all over Deviantart that I rather like by other artists. As far as the interest in my work, there’ve been a number of people who have managed to help me realize that there still IS an interest in my work. You know who you are, and I’d like to say that I give out oodles of thanks.

Now I suppose this is a good spot to tell yall what the hell I’ve been doing with myself this past… 7 months. I wish I could string all of this into a “We Didn’t Start the Fire” beat, but I lack the musical talent. I suppose you could always read this journal while taking just the right substance, that would make anything musical.

But right, since the last journal I went through a birthday and got to play with explosives on mah birthday. Nothing like having your birthday on the 4th of July in the USA while setting off illegal fireworks in the street wearing a Soviet winter infantry hat and blaring Hendrix’s “ Purple Haze ” in the background. My way of realizing the American dream. After that, I’ve had two quarters in college where I think I might have actually discovered the specific job I want in the field I’m going for: 3D rigger/animator. First quarter I had my first 3d animation class, second quarter I had my second. I’ll go into that a little more in my gallery where I’ve posted work from those. I also had another 3d modeling class and a materials and lighting class. The former was great cause the teacher was great, I took her beginner’s modeling class before too and she’s a real asset to this school. The latter was terrible cause the teacher was terrible, maybe worst class I’ve taken so far. I didn’t learn jack. Other than that, I had a bunch of GenEds where I didn’t learn much of anything else either, with the exception of some interesting anecdotes and theories I got from a fellow student in my sociology class.

Now during the first quarter, I got me a new computer up and working thanks to my friend Kevin and his brother. It’s now up and running in my room here. Tricked out real nice cause I didn’t have to buy a monitor, keyboard, or mouse. That really helped along the rendering times for my animation. Then next quarter I got the orange box. Good golly miss molly. TF2 became my new addiction, which I’ll prolly do some fanart of soon enough. Portal was short but rightly so, because it honestly felt like it was playing a movie, a hilarious one at that. I wouldn’t mind seeing more games made like that. And the HL2 episodes? Loved em all. So much so that I made sure to do all the achievements in Episode 2, including Little Rocket Man, including driving that damn gnome around that track and its slipping out all the time and ya gotta stop and that’s when the chopper revs up and blasts you and it happens every damn 5 feet and you wonder why Alex cant just hold the damn thing after all I’m saving the human race goddamit.

Speaking of women, Kevin got married to a woman who lives at Quiznos.
Now that those quarters are over, we go into Christmas. Was nice and peaceful, didn’t want much, and it shows cause I still have yet to actually open a few of the gifts I got. Crysis and Battlefield 2 are sitting on my shelf doing not much of anything. I was mostly playing World in Conflict, which I bought myself months before this, and was enjoying the fun of dropping so much goddamn ordnance on everything. There are so many types of death that can come from the sky in that game, my personal favorite being the Russian Air Fuel Bomb.

After that, I’m still on vacation, for I decided to take this semester off. It was all a ploy to work on some of my artwork on my own time, get a job, and learn to drive. Unfortunately this was a bad idea, cause no one is hiring right now, 'least not me and my 70 applications so far, no one wants to or can drive until weather improves and stops its epileptic flail up and down the temperature scale, and I’ve been distracted and discouraged from working on artwork l...

Dude I think it must have been like 9 months since I posted my last journal. Perhaps that chould give all of you an idea of how uneventful things have been with my schoolin goin on. Or how busy I have been, even if those two things seem contradictory.

Well, to recap on everything, on my October-December quarter, I took storyboarding, ya'll probably remember that "Rock the Casbah" thing I did. I also had intro to audio and intro to video, and some modern mathematics class. First B came out of that damn audio class though, so I wasn't too pleased with that. Other than that, not much to mention about that quarter. Then there was christmas and new years, not much to mention there. Next quarter had a World Literature and Physics class for gen eds, along with 2d animation and Advanced drawing. The gen eds were no problem, pretty easy as they usually are at this school, the 2d animation class was challenging and fun, but that advanced drawing class leaves me with some regrets. The guy who teaches it, Bruno Surdo, is quite the artist, he knows what hes talkin about, and he tought us quite a lot, but I guess I feel the class was lacking something. Maybe I coulda learned a lot more from it than I did, not sure.

Then there was my 1 week break, and I went into last semester, which I had 2d vector animation (AKA flash), intro to motion graphics, philosophy, and Acting for Animation. Now I usually dont have much to say about gen ed classes, but I have to say that philosophy had to be one of the easiest classes I had. I mean when it comes right down to it, every project or paper you had to do in there requires that you only make an argument and uselogic to back it up. All you gotta do is use logic. And it got me thinking, that if that is so easy, then politician's jobs must be a lot harder than I once thought. I never appreciated how well they can make arguments withot logic, ya know? Not exactly the best thing in the world that they do that, but I guess that would be pretty difficult.

Okay, enough of my political banter. The 2d vector animation class was a real fun experience, simply because I've always wanted to know how to use flash. I've used it before back in high school, and I think I may have even tinkered with it back in junior high. Thing is, I never produced anything really spectacular. Now I've finally got an idea of how to make a really good flash animation, and dare I say it, I might actually start using flash more often if I get the chance.

Acting for animation was the second class with the amazing Patrick Welch. That would be the guy who did my Drawing/Characterization class. As usual, the class was very entertaining, and very enlightening. The class teaches you how to really get into the fabric of a character, and I really wanna put it to use on some new characters, although I've got to say it hard to decide who. I wanna design some new characters, but I want em to have some flavor, and really stick. Now I think I'm a lil more prepared for that task.

And finally the motion graphics class. We used after effects to make a bunch of lil things here and there, but its really not my field precisely. I'm mostly character animation while that class seems more like an effects animation class. Of course the reason we take it is for a basic understanding of the software. Its something we can composite all our animations in to make it look all nice lookin, pretty much. However, this class worked in my favor quite a bit. One of our family friends owns a video production/editing company in town. They serve a lotta the folks in the whole south chicago area, but the guy who owns it saw my work and says he could employ me. Not exactly character animation stuff that he does, but I will be able to do earn some cash while learning technical stuff. No problems there. Plus I'm getting some good work experience for the ole resume.

To go with that, theres also someone who wanted my art in their RPG book, so I'm really happy about that. With the DnD nerd that I am, gettin your art smacked next to all of the fluff and rules in one of these books seems pretty cool.

Next quarter, I'll be takin a gen ed and 2 3d classes. Intermediate modeling, and beginner's animation. I'm not sure about the animation, but the modeling class I think requires that our models look as good as those in the Soul Calibur series. I am lookin forward to that particular challenge. It will be driving me insane soon enough. Until then, I'm going to try and work on some films with my buddies, maybe play some DnD. And try to enjoy the 2 weeks of freedom I have left.

Well, thats all of my rant for now. Expect another one in 2 years, that is the rate I am going at after all. Perhaps I should make some headers and footers for this journal subscription that enigma-dragan gave me.

Moar arts to come hopefully...

Alright then, I apologize once again for disappearing. I can guess that you can anticipate the same for another 3 months, so yeah. I'm sorry bout that.

But yes, its me, Commissar again, and I have a bit of an excuse this time for a lack of artwork. You see lately I've been going through a bit of a revamping of my style. I used to draw things pretty carefully and slowly which is how I did a lot of those old shaded monocrome things I have in my gallery, but lately with my animation class and everything my style has become much more influenced by the quick gestural line, and when you're drawing 12 frames for every second of animation, this idea starts to get into your head. So much so that my design for kinyaf has changed up a bit. Hes got a a much more streamline, scrawny kinda shape to him now, and I guess his heads got a little more of a feral look to it. Still pretty cartoony though, if not more. Thats the direction I'm starting to head in now, so expect a lot of cartoony stuffs.

Now, I know I dont have a lot of artwork in this last update, but heres deal. I've been taking my animation class this semester and although I had a lot of material to show, I dont really know how to get it into digital format and put it up on devart yet. With the way my schedule is next semester however, I'm gonna learn how, so when I do, you can see lil bits of animation here and there.

Other than all the animation work, I also have been working in 3D on the ole compy, and let me tell you, I had no idea that I would have a knack for the stuff. I mean, when I walked into college I thought I was gonna be a die hard traditional, pencil and paper, 2d animator. I thought I was gonna do all the 3d stuff I needed to, but my main thing would be sitting down at a light table and scratchin out animation the ole fashioned way. Well its beginning to look like I was wrong. I'm really taking to the 3D stuff, my teachers have been bringin people in to see my stuff, and my classmates have tried strangling me with a shoelace. I ain't trying to gloat here, just saying how surprised I am that I'm actually turning into a damn 3D artist. I guess thats how college is though, its all about finding your niche.

Thats all I did this semester, but it was a bit of work to do, and since a few things happened this summer, things had been going pretty crappy. But thanks to a good deal of friends out there, and I'm sure you all know who you are, I was able to salvage my sanity, get back on track, and put together some nice work in school this semester, as well as do it with a smile on mah face. To all of you, you've got my eternal thanks.

Well, thats all I can think of to say right now. If I can think of anything else, I'll post it or edit it or whatever. Ya'll have a good one!

Well look at that everybody, I'm not actually dead. Sorry for those of you who lost money on the various bets you had going. I am in fact alive, but I've just been stupid and busy with school, so hopefully now I'll try and get some artwork done that I personally want to do. Although I wouldn't hold my breath on it. I mean, I really wouldn't, cause like even the small drawings take a little bit of time to draw, like a few minutes, and thats a bit taxing on you if you're limiting the oxygen to the brain. I mean it might not kill you, but you're losing brain cells for sure.

Henywho, I suppose I should fill you in... again.

Well after school last quarter Sean loaned me the Trigun DVD collection which basically killed my productivity for that one week I had off, no questions asked. This part is done.

After that I kicked back into school. I had Life Drawing and Drawing & Characterization on my Monday and Wednesday classes, Effective Speaking on my Tuesday and Thursday classes, and for the first time I had an online course. I took Typography online, which is otherwise known as the demon class to everyone in this school. It is the course that has earned the worse reputation for type of work, workload, and asshole teachers. I dodged a bullet by taking the online course, because its only 5 and 1/2 weeks, is digital (obiviously) and has an entirely different teacher. And my other classes weren't at all bad either. Life Drawing seems as though its the first Art Fundamentals class that actually taught me something new, Drawing & Characterization was without a doubt just fun to take part in, and Effective Speaking was a pretty easy and often times enjoyable class to take.

It was also nice to see everybody at games workshop for once. My schedule finally permitted me to meet all my buddies at the ole High School, so that was nice. It was nice to get a lil snippet of that all over again. It was good fun, and on the last day of Games Workshop I got to be first in line for the pizza, as I was a fuggin super-senior. Go me.

As for anything else interesting that might have happened, lets see. Almost got my leg blown off with some fireworks, got sunburned, nearly got lost in Chicago, got to teach a bunch of 6th graders how to do an art project, used my cel phone for something other than calling home to say which train I'm taking back, played my first airsoft battle (and got my first kill), and for the first time had a quarter of school that I really enjoyed. I'm finally shrugging off all of these Art Fundamentals classes and at last I'm getting to do exactly what I want to do: animate. Good times.

And for anyone who cares to know, I may be taking commissions soon. I'm not completely sure, but if I can make all the arrangements and can manage my time accordingly then it may soon be a reality. I'm just saying as a heads up.

So hennyways, if you've got anything to ask, just ask here. I'll try and use this damn journal thing a little more often then I do. Once a month average is not a good thing for me.

Enjoy Refreshing Time.

Sorry about not having made a journal in roughly... 3 months, 4 months? Not since November 20th. Thats pretty bad on my part, I will have to admit. School has been taking a bit of energy and time away form me, so at least I have an excuse. Regardless of the reason, though, I've got a lot of recaping to do.

Well, if you can tell by the influx of art, you might have noticed that I've been doing a lot of arty things at school. During my first semester I went through quite an aggravating time trying to deal with my Design Fundamentals teacher and the big workload she would give us, but that was soon taken care of.

I got all A's that Semsester, then I headed into my 3 week vacation in December/January. I got me some nice things for Christmas, as some of you may already know:
An airsoft AK-47 and Walther PPK (which I call a Makarov just cause its the closest thing to a Makarov that I can find for under $100)
Monty Python Flying Circus DVD collection (ensuring I will never ever be bored ever again)
A green hoodie, calender, and pewter minature, all of which are dragon-y.
And the Half-Life Platinum Collection, meaning I can now play all those old mods.

As one might be able to gather, I've got plenty to satisfy myself with. Although I admit that its all very distracting.

I dont believe my vacation was very eventful beyond that, so I headed into the second semester, the last one, with my next 4 classes: English 2, History of Western Art 2, Observational Drawing (Mon, Wen) and Image Manipulation (Tue, Thur). English 2 was an utter blast, I don't think I'll find another teacher in that school that will want to discuss YTMND's and evil cats. Maybe the latter. But Art History was good too. I mean, I had a rough start, and it involves sitting in a dark room, watching slides of art, right after eating lunch, which mathmatically equates to SNOOZE, but I really got into the whole mechanics of the art. I had some good artistic discussions in there.

Observational Drawing? That kinda sucked, most of the time. I got some cool art out of it, but most of the time it just seemed ridiculous. Teacher kept sending me to get books out of the library so she could reject them in front of me and send me back for more. A person shouldn't check out and return the same 20 books within a 5 minute period.

Then Image Manipulation was cool too. It was another dark room after lunch, but that still didn't keep me from learning things about Photoshop, and from making some nifty art. Twas pretty fun, actually. I got some nice art out of this semester, so I'm satisfied.

As for anything else that happened, all I can remember is some weird guy waking me up on the train into the city, and talking to me. And yelling, and crying, and all that. And then abruptly leaving. *shrug* But most things recently I can remember, like getting to vote in the state primary on Tuesday. A few candidates of mine one, a few didn't, but I'm just relieved that Gidwitz didn't get elected as the Republican nominee for governer. I mean, it was on the republican ballot, which I didnt vote on, but I am still relieved.

And of course, recently, I showed up at Games Workshop back at high school. It was incredibly easy to get past security, and was real nice to see everybody in the ole GW room. And as a bit of good news, I'm gonna let all you know that I can go to Games Workshop next semester. I'm getting back home on the train around 2 or so, so theres NO way I can screw that up and be late.

And so, with that brief description of my uneventful college lifestyle, I will say farwell for now. I just wanted to get this little rant down before hitting the hay, to give you people some idea of what I've been doing. I know I'm forgetting a gazillion things, so please, if you've got questions, please ask.

Until then, watch where you going, you foo!

Nothing much to update on here. I got 5,000 pageviews, but that happened a while ago, so I suppose people already know. Been trying to draw some stuff, but I keep getting stuck on these two projects. I'm really considering just post-poning them right now and coming back to em later. Might be better if I do that.

As for school, well, I'm getting a vacation soon, 15th of December will be my last day of this semester, quarter, or whatever the hell you want to call it. I'll try making some art around that time, seeing as I'll have some free time with no projects or anything to get in the way. FREEDOM! Of course, there are drawbacks to the holidays too, it means I'll have to start spending money for gifts. For a person with no income thats not good! Bah... must find a way to make commissions.

Speaking of which, I'd actually like to do commissions. There are problems though. For one, I'm not sure how to get the money and the artwork and all that to their respective recipients, I simply don't know how. Secondly, I'm not sure how... "prompt" I can be in my completion of the artwork with college. So, if you want commissions, know a good way to get everything where it needs to be, and have the patience to watch Uranium decay, then friggin tell me!

And, for all those whom it may concern, I am considering having peoples over for some DnD the weekend after Thanksgiving weekend. So ponder on that, will ya?

Ah, hows everybody doing? Remember how I said I was going to college? Well I did. And believe it or it took up large amount of my free time, thus keeping me from going to devart on a regular basis. I apologize to all of you whose artwork and journals I've been unable to respond to. I simply can't do it in the timeframe I've got. But, I've cleared up a lil hole in time, and now I can do stuff, including posting a big splotch of artwork I've had all month. Posted seconds away from midnight, so it still counts as October work! HA! SERVED! OH SNAP! OH RLY? YEAH RLY!

Oh, speaking of which, happy Halloween. I went as Snake, or rather Big Boss, from Metal Gear Solid 3. Not an entirely accurate costume, but when I a strangled my friend from behind and demanded that he "SPEAK!" in my best David Hayder voice, they knew who the hell I was. And, on the plus side, I now have an airsoft replica of a Colt M1911 .45 cal pistol. My mum bought it for me out of the goodness of her heart! And boy oh boy is that thing fun to play with. Ocelot was right, re-loading IS exhilirating! And so was the little Halloween party at Sean's house! I am happy to say that I now have blackmail material of Billy! I know its easy to come by, but I appreciate the small accomlishments too.

And just in case yal is wondering what I'm doing at school, well. I'm not really sure. I see no clear method to any class with the exception of the only NON-art class on my schedule. English has so far been fun and enriching. Rapid Visualizations is boring and repetative, Survey of Design has no consise logic to it's project layouts, and Fundamentals of Design, well. Our teacher knows a lot about art, but knows nothing of math, time, space, and the reality in which all these things relate. I had to explain to her how the next project was to be laid out, mathmatically. And I'm the student. Something went wrong, somewhere in there. All of this combined with about 3 hours a day spent waiting for and riding on various trains eats up a lot of time. Although the trains do provide me with sleep so that I can work later. I guess thats alright.

All in all, I do think I've gotten used to the college thing. Hell of a lot faster than I thought I would too.

Oh, perhaps I will post pictures of Solid Kinyaf. We'll see what people want. Yes, thats right we. We will takes the ring from them precious, takes it from them TAKES IT!

Well, heres another large helping of art. Not much to say about it, except that this is the first time I've actually kept a schedule as I've worked on it. I've cleared it up, for the most part. The rest of my projects have been discarded in the name of science, or laziness, or something. Mostly laziness.

Not much has happened recently. All I can say is that I'll be starting up school on October 3rd, and that may either increase or decrease my efficiency on Devart. There may be a lot of schoolwork, but then again, I've noticed that my rate of art production has been higher while in school than when out. And chances are it'll be really high, seeing as I'm going to an art school. Or not, who knows. Hopefully a little inspiration in the city, and being outside the house, will get me in a much more artistic mood. Until then, I've got plenty of problems that I gotta sort out right now, so see yal later.

Hey there, I'm still alive yal! And good news! I finally found got my old hard drive back. Which mean I can post all of the stuff that was in my scholarship portfolio now. Of course, about half of it has already been posted, but it was done so before I even knew about the contest. The other half you will see in this lil update.

Other than that, getting back the old hard drive has many benefits. Its so nice to have stuff back! STUFF! *glomps his stuff* Unfortunately, when my mum took the hard drive to the tech guy to get a backup made, she made sure to tell him not to back up any of the game files. So, I pretty much lost all my data for just about every game I had. But I can always cheat, or play again. And since this is a nice computer, its fun to play everything through once more. It generally looks a hella lot more shiny. And I still have the most important stuff with me. Teh arts! That stuff is hard to reporoduce, ya know.

On another note, just this weekend I went to Rhode Island for a relative's wedding. Its really a lovely place there, but I swear if I lived there I would die. I left sunburned, tired, starving, mosquito-bitten, dizzy, and irritable. I was also rather confused, cause I was experiencing a lot of pain in such a beautiful place. My brain became more and more confused. Its so nice to be home again, with my internets, and games, and drawings, and food, and forgiving sun. Yup, dats much much better.

And, without further interuption...
I'll be starting school on October 3, if anyone cares to know, or if I have yet to mention it. It may be fun, it may not be. I pray that it is.

Alright, alright, I'm back. I suppose I should explain myself, but believe me, theres a bit to explain.

Approximately a month ago, (I can't remember precisely when) my house sustained an electrical surge. How did it happen? Lighting struck the house, or at least very close to it. We can't say for sure, because moments after it hit, a lotta the house's systems freaked out. Alarm system was fried, as was my computer. To summarize the computer damages, we lost the power supply, motherboard, modem, wireless router, and printer/scanner combo. And to top things off, this all happened a day or two before my mom and brother left to Indiana for a week. Seeing as shes the only one who has control of money in this family who knows even the slightest thing about computers, I was stuck at home for a week doing absolutely nothing.

Fortunately, my pals were kind enough to come over one night for DnD, video games, and the like. To be quite honest, they helped me keep my sanity.
I gots to thank them in the only way you can thank a person on dA if you have no money. A shameless plug.

Sean gets plugged twice cause he came over the day before as well.

Eventually my mother returned with the sunbaked remains of my brother, yet it still took us another week to get a guy from Comcast to set us up with a new modem. By then, I had found the internet in the form of a family friend. My brother needed the internet to take an Algebra class, so we used it at a friends house. While he worked on the problems, and while our friend re-enacted the Burly-Brawl from Matrix Reloaded in GTA San Andreas using nothing but cars, I checked my devart to find 150 messages. Honestly, I expected more.

Soon, with our internet up and running, we managed to get a new wireless router and a new printer/scanner. Picked it up at Sam's club, yo. The router was the same, but the Printer/scanner has an ethernet port, so we can link the whole house to the printer and print as we like. Nifty, no? Then we got to the fun task of picking out a new computer. You see, for the time being we were using my old computer in place of the old one so we could use the internet and printer/scanner. The speakers, monitor, keyboard, mouse, and everything else was completely fine, so all we needed was a replacement for the computer tower itself. I suggested we build ours from the ground up this time. With the insurance money, we could have made the most spectacular machine, but my parents decided to buy an entire desktop from Dell instead. Didn't bother me too much; sure there were a lot of useless programs that needed the boot, but in the end, this sucker had a better video card, so HL 2 looks incredibly friggin shiny now. And you know how I like the shinnies.

This of course, leaves one thing. As I said, the motherboard and power supply were hit by the surge, but the hard drive wasnt. It is currently backed up on some tech-guy's drive. I was gonna wait to post this when it was returned to us, but I figured at the speed things are going, I might as well just spill all this info right now.

However, should I get it back, I'll post the works that won me the half-tuition portfolio scholarship. I doubt many will care, but there are some who have angrily theatened me to show them just the same. It takes all kinds, I guess. But I hope to get that up in the future.

In the meantime, I have been horribly out of practice with my drawing. Pissed off about computer loss, unable to oC, then introduced to a significantly shinier version of HL2 and CSS has been more than distracting. Hopefully when college rolls around, I will be a little more motivated to draw. I'll have to rely on it.

Oh yeah, pageview 4000 is rolling around, as it deviation 100. I'll...

Will you look at that, 8 things. Thats just so unlike me. How in the world did that happen? Oh well...

Well, my birthday festivities went fantastically. I'd like to say they started on July 3rd, despite the fact that my birthdays on the 4th. I had a relazing morning, then later on, I went to a family friend's house, relaxed, and ate some hambugers, hot dogs, and cookie cake (hells yeah). Then we took a train up to Chicago, watched some fireworks, then came back the same way. The train ride back was so bustling, I swear it felt like I was back in the halls of Joliet Central High School.

On the 4th, I got to have a bunch of my pals over for some fun super-awesome party action. Except without the "super-awesome party action" part. We watched some Bruce Campbell movies, and laughed our asses of at their horrid production quality. We played some DnD, some Resident Evil, some fighting games, etc... etc... and had cheddarwurst and teh l337 cake for edibles! I love my l337 cake! I also got some Pocky from Seanithan and $20 from Leslie. That was totally unexpected you two, thank you big time!

And of course, I thank ALL of you online who gave me all of you're fanart stuffs. Its nice to know I'm loved by all you guys/gals/things. ^^

Then, on the 5th, we slept in, doing little of anything. I DID have to go in for a job interview at 3, but at least it was a hell of a lot easier than I thought it would be. Of course, I doubt they'll hire me anyway, but at least I didn't get tagged as ineffective, or shot or anything. Then I got to eat pizza for dinner, and had a nice relaxing night.

And then, on the 6th, I messed around all day, drawing and stuff, then went to my brother's summer camp for a cook-out deal where I got some really good hot dogs. And I managed to get presents from my parents on that night too. Some DVD's, shirts, portable CD player-radio, as well as many other lil tidbits. Seriously, things kicked ARSE!

As for today, well... it was a bit interesting. Looks like those wacky terrorists are up to it all over again. I seriously have no idea what to make of events so far, so I'm gonna just put this issue off until I have something close to actual facts.

So... as the festivities and junk food begin to slow down, I have to say that all in all, this was probably one of the best birthday's I've ever had. Since when do the festivities stretch out into about 4 days or so? All I'm saying is, it was a blast. Thanks to all of you who made it possible, and who made it enjoyable, and who so far have done the same for my life as a whole. No matter the size of your contribution, I appreciate it. Thanks a bunch guys!

Okie dokie. I need a job.

That was the short version. The long version is that I REALLY need to get a job, because as I've seen it, I need some sort of motivation to start drawing a more. A hell of a lot more. I'm far too distracted here at home, what with the video games, parents, so on and so on. However, if I were to get a job, (hopefully at K-Mart), I could get some drawing work done, because after a breif tour of the place, and a description by some of the workers there, the place is absoutely empty. There's rarely any customers in the place, and they find themselves bored, with nothing to do. Thats what I need! Mind numbing bordem to motivate me to draw! I've seen it work for plenty of other artists, GOOD artists, I might add, so it just might work for me. Plus, the money, walking, and getting away from the house is nice too. All good reasons for me to get a job.

In other news, I really need to get a planner book, or something, to organize all of the stuff I've promised people. Its better to have this stuff in writing, cause right now, I'm on vacation, so my brain isn't going to remember anything for me. But, until I get a planner, feel free to tap me on the shoulder if I forgot something I was supposed to do for you. Mkay?

Also, my lil grad party seemed to go well. I managed to avoid the sheer insanity of my youngest sibling and his friends, while the other one brought a rather subdued and polite fellow over to my house. *looks skyward and says "Thank you" * I managed to see some of Conker: Live and Reloaded, AND play it. Holy crap, I'd buy an Xbox for that game alone. So... damn... pretty. I also saw the addictive qualities of DDR. I swear, you people and your money, your purchasing of interesting things with that money, and your tempting me to buy and play these things despite the fact that I don't have the money or the need to be distracted. Darn you. However, thank you bunches for everything else! I got me some money, some explosives, some anime stuff, and a pound of grapefruit candy! Blessed grapefruit candy... *drools*

gave me the candy. Give your souls to the candy supplier! Do it NOW!!!

Oh yeah. My birthday is on Monday, July 4th. No, I'm not patriotic, I just have a lot of pyromaniacal genes in me.

So yeah, thats all. Sorry bout not having much drawing.

Just thought I'd annonce this, and I know plenty of people will probably kill me in my sleep because of it, but...

I won a $30,000 dollar scholarship to the Illinois Institute of Art of Chicago, teh place I'm planning on going to for college. It was a portfolio based scholarship, and I had to send in several pieces of artwork for a review, and they said they loved my work. Its a real bonus when your college of choice tells you that, over the phone, and then in person. Sorry... I'm gonna get stabbed by you people, aren't I?

Unfortunately, I haven't recieved the official notice just yet, but since the people who were on the review board told me personally that I was the winner, its not like this is a lie or anything. At least, it better not be. I had a few nifty pieces of artwork in the portfolio that have yet to be seen, but just to make sure (what with legal stuff and all) I'm going to wait till I recieve the official notice to post them. Sorry, I gotta make sure, this is $30,000 here. ^^

However, I can't say that I could have done it without help. A lot of my success here lies with my discovery of DeviantArt, and the AlterMeta forums. No, I'm not going to single out anyone individual for what they have done, nor am I going to organize you, and rank you in your worth. Those of you who have helped me, know who you are. No matter how small your contribution, you managed to get me more motivated in creating art, improving my craft, and in some cases, made me a better person. No amount of thanks I can give can equate how I feel for all of you.

I couldn't have done it without you. Thank you all.

So yes, I finally graduated. And in retrospect all I can say right now is that I am thoroughly confused as to what happened in the past 4 years. 1st year was a blast, despite Sepetember 11th, 2nd year was a bit insane and painful *glares a t Mr. Houchens*, 3rd year induced nearly homicidal rage *glares at Mrs. Warren*, and the 4th year was simply great cause everything seemed to come together and work out just fine. I can thank you folks on devart for that, as well as the folks on the AM forum, and my pals in real life. Some of which are graduating with me. To them, I give my hearty congrats, despite the fact that a lot of them are completely confused as to how the hell they graduated.

And as I know, a lot of my friends didnt graduate. Some have another year left to go, while others just finished their freshmen year. Well, believe me, I'll be back on occassion. I'll soon be making frequent trips to the train station, and the high school is a short walk away from there, so I'll be paying a few visits. I gotta see how the construction on the school looks too.

For those of you who graduated with me, I hope to see you some time in the future as well. At the very least, lets try and have some fun this summer. It may be the last one I'm gonna have, as my college has some very short vacation time. The fact that my parents are also forcing me to get a job this summer does also not bode well for trying to spend time with each other, so lets live it up while we can.

As for the artistic aspect of this post, well... I apologize for being late, yet again. I've been drawing stuff, I've just been too damn lazy to post any off it because I just got into summer vacation. A combination of Half-Life 2 and Dawn of War suddenly winding up in my possesion on a computer that can actually run them also doesnt help my focus on art. Trust me, you give me time to be lazy, and I'll take it. I've also been kinda depressed as of late, but (hooray for me) I finally got everything figured out, and now I'm happier then ever. It was prolly the spark that got me to post all this stuff. Cause... Yeah... I'm lazy.

I really need to post more journals... and I really need to answer all the crap in my inbox.

Oh well...

Yes... I'm BACK!

*crickets*

Hold your applause ladies and gentlemen...

I'm finally back to do some drawing, as I have finally finished that portfolio. If I haven't already explained, its for a half-tuition scholarship, and at $33,000 dollars, its a nice chunk of change. I hope that it wins, and if you would be so kind as to help hope, it would be appreciated.

As for some of the stuff I've created for the portfolio, you won't be able to see it for a while. When the contest results are in, I'll post them, but until then I have to keep them too myself. Sorry, this is mostly a stipulation set by my parents. Theres a few things I'd really like to share.

All I need to do now is get the letter of reccomendation and mail this sucker. Not a problem, mind you...

I'm gonna get back into the swing of things, start drawing what I want for a little while, and maybe do some fanart or requests if I feel up to it. I'm not confirming anything, but I might do it. If anything, I'd prefer suggestions of what to draw, not requests. Sure, I sound like an asshole, but... I am! I'm gonna try working on my coloring, use oC much more often, and maybe even get that tablet I've wanted for so long, if my parents allow. I do actually have a functioning tablet, but it doesn't function too well anymore. You can thank my siblings and mother for that. If I get it, I will consider hiding it someplace when it is not in use.

I also have to give a big thanks a few of my online friends. Working on the portfolio got me kinda angsty and emo'y, much to my disliking, but I had the help of these fellas (and one female equivallent of a "fella") to get me through it. You all get plugged and hugged!

And I'll throw a glomp in there too.

Thanks guys. See ya'll later.

I'm tryin to go to college, and scholarships tend to help that, so I'ma filling up a portfolio. I may not get to post as often, and I'm definately gonna have to put off a lotta fanworks that I'm supposed to do, so... sorry.

Once I finish though, I'll get to those works, and I'll start using openCanvas a whole lot more. With other people, I hope.

Well, obviously the scanner works now. We can once again thank form this; he came over and fixed things! So I scanned a few things, and now that it is spring break, I've got lotsa time to work on art and stuff. Of course, I've got a lot of stuff on the burner already, I'll need to finish that first, but I should be able to do other art...

Now, more people to reccomend!

Another kuvrahk artist, with coloring powers, a neat style, and he gave me some fanart. So, I really need to draw something for him, and you need to check out his stuff.

How could I forget this guy? Hes got a great style, and hes got a lot of my favorite subject matter in his works to boot! War, zombies, etc... Yeah, hes definately worth a look.

Has a love for gun toting and russians. Is it any wonder I'm reccomending this guy?

Hes got an awesome lineart style, and a weird coloring technique that is really cool. He has some real skill, and should not be overlooked.

Mostly a black-and-white guy, you can see where we relate. He draws kuvvies too, but hes more fluent in the art of D& D. Check it out. SHADING!

Sorry, thats all for now. I wanna keep this short this this time around.

Okay. I went and did it again. And the powers tha be punished me for it.

I tried pulling another "I'm gonna save up all my work and post it all at the same time! LOL! Am I rite guyz!?", and as I began posting on friday, my computer froze and crapped out on me. I could not restart Windows, and many an object were tossed about the room as a result of the ensuing rage. This was punishment. I won't do it again.

In fact, if you are one of my assosciates who see me at school, I emplore you to tell me that if I'm working on a piece of art, to post it as soon as your done.

And give me food.
Well, anyway, my good friend was able to come over and fix my computer - not only fix, but make better! Turns out, I had like 339 different Spyware files on my computer, and my good friend nearly had a brain anorism! So I pushed him down the stairs, dragged him up again, and repeated that process till he noticed what I was doing. But yeah, we fixed everything, and by we, I mean him. So yeah. If I had an artist of the week thing, it would have to go to him. So I 'll put him in here, and shout out to a few of my other buds...
He also fixed my computer. So you should give him money and views. Just in case you missed it, here's ten more of his icons:
