I know I've been awfully quiet on here, occasionally posting stuff, but keeping quiet otherwise. First of all, thank you all so much for following my stuff and enjoying my movie comics.

Second, I wanted to share with you guys what I've been working on recently. Eros Inc. ([link]) has been my one true obsession, and we just hit 90 comics today! I absolutely love working on this thing and if you enjoy my other comics, I think you might enjoy this one. It's about cupids living and working in Los Angeles: a comic for the hopelessly romantic and romantically hopeless.

Third, but somewhat related to second, so like, second and a half, I've been making (and selling) Valentine's Day cards! They're pretty snazzy if I do say so myself and they look fantastic printed. You can find them at the Eros Inc. store ([link]). I think they're pretty funny and I've actually already shared some of the images here on this site, but I should be a better business man and promote it here.

Anyway, that's what I've been working on. I hope all of you are doing well!

Of Scenes from a Play
The following are select scenes from the past five days. They will appear in chronological order.

SCENE ONE - In Which Our Hero Receives the Only Call of the Afternoon.

Interior. Good Humor Television Offices. Evening.

MICHAEL sits at his desk, waiting for phone calls. The PHONE rings.

Michael: Tom Werner's Office.
(LOUD CHEWING)
Michael: Hello?
(LOUD CHEWING)
VOICE: Ya!?
Michael: Hello?
VOICE: Ya.
Michael: ...Tom Werner's Office.
VOICE: May I speak to Marcy Carsey.
(Marcy Carsey is not in this office. In fact, she is never in this office.)
Michael: Hold on one second.
(Puts the phone on HOLD. Michael LEANS over to the next desk where another assistant, SCOTT, sits on the phone.)
Michael: I've got a guy looking for Marcy.
Scott: Who is it?
Michael: I don't know.
(Scott shrugs. Michael takes the guy off hold)
Michael: Hello?
(LOUD CHEWING)
Michael: Sir?
(LOUD CHEWING)
VOICE: Ya.
Michael: I can't reach her, can I take a message?
VOICE (speaking insanely fast): Ya, this is Jim *********, I wrote a western book and I wanna produce it into a movie.
Michael (writing this down): Alright, can I get your phone number?
(He gives it. The man is still chewing loudly right into the speaker.)
Michael: Thanks, I'll deliver the message.
(LOUD CHEWING)
VOICE: Great.
(The man HANGS UP.)

End Scene.

SCENE TWO - In Which Our Hero Overhears a Bickering, Elderly Couple.

Interior. Las Vegas Airport. Day.

Michael sits waiting for his plane to leave for Pittsburgh. He sits behind an ELDERLY COUPLE.

Man: You know what I... Are you listening to me?
Woman: Yes.
Man: You know what my rule is for reading?
Woman: Yes.
Man: If I don't like what I'm reading on th-
Woman: Yes.
Man: -plane I don't-
Woman: I know, you close the book and never open it.
Man: That's RIGHT.
Woman: You've told me this twice already. You've told me every time we've flown.

End scene.

SCENE THREE - In Which Our Hero Learns About His Past and the Rules of Letting Someone Tell a Story: Know the Ending.

Interior. Trolley Ride through Pittsburgh. Day.

A trolley is FILLED with family members. The eldest sit in the front, along with Howard Smith, Michael's father.

Howard: Their Grandfather died the night before and it's against Jewish tradition to cancel the ceremony, but they refused to have it anyway. Grandma and Grandpa got married in the Rabbi's study.
Aunt Marion (my great aunt): Yeah he (she mumbles, continuing the story)
Howard: Wait, here's the microphone.
(Howard hands the microphone to her to continue)
Aunt Marion: ...and he-
Howard: No, Aunt Daisy, start from the beginning. (to the rest of us) Aunt Daisy has a great story!
Aunt Marion: Oh...okay. Our grandfather woke up the day before the wedding and got dressed in his full tuxedo. I asked "where are you going?" and he said he was going to Lester's wedding! We said "Grandpa, that's tomorrow!"
(She tells this story rather deadpan, not emphasizing anything specific. The trolley laughs)
Aunt Marion: So grandpa undressed, went upstairs and died.
(Aunt Marion hands the microphone back to a very stunned Howard. Awkward silence. Half the trolley isn't sure what they heard. Then roaring laughter explodes from anyone under 90 in the trolley. The grandparents are confused.)

End scene.

I am currently on Spring Break (thank god) and decided to spend a weekend in good old West Hartford before I spend the remainder of the week silently dying inside. I more or less have the week planned out for me ahead of time - I'll be taking care of my friend's dogs while they (the friends, not the dogs) bake slowly in Arizona to celebrate a birthday. Meanwhile, Shannon is working an internship in DC for the week, leaving me to my own doings.

I do have some things I want to accomplish before Shannon returns the following Saturday, and they are as follows:

1. Do a re-edit of Harold Dowd. I want to at least have a good cut so I can start doing sound work.
2. Edit the footage I have of Dating Frances. The dailies alone make me laugh, so that is a good sign.
3. Call me a loser, but I want to get to level 60 (or at least 58). I'm the closest I've ever been and I really want to get to Outland. It's better than watching television.
4. Write episode three of Dating Frances.

Something to note, this is not listed in order of importance.

Being at home is always an interesting experience. I don't really have television in Syracuse (the closest thing I have is three channels with the help of my bunny ears), so being exposed to On Demand and Digital Cable is something I'm just not used to. I find this as a positive simply because there isn't anything good on anyway, so I spend my time skimming the free "ON DEMAND" movies (which wouldn't be on demand anywhere else) and spent the evening watching Men in Black II while my younger brother macked it with an ex.

No one was in town anyway, so I don't really feel that bad about being anti-social.

My dad is watching a dvd set about Route 66 (which I bought for him for the most recent Channucka). Currently we're learning about the Funk family that makes maple syrup. Favorite quote so far? On why they chose to make maple syrup: "I've never really heard of maple syrup...it sounded like fun."

God bless America.

Yeah, so I thought I deleted this thing, but apparently, much like a gang, once you pledge devART, you can't leave it. I saw that one lovely Kara Hall left me a message way the fuck back in NOVEMBER and felt really bad that I didn't respond.

The main reason I haven't updated anything on here is mainly because I've been updating my gorram site! (PLUG PLUG [link] PLUG PLUG) so there's that.

I think I'm actually going to start updating this thing again because, holy shit, I'm taking a photography class. I don't know how you do it Kara, every time I take a picture I feel so fucking pretentious! I have no idea why, but it creeps me out.
I haven't been drawing much because I've been working on a new film! It's almost done, just got some sound work to do (what I'm the least good with of course) then I can start sending it off to short film festivals. WOOOOOOO. I've gotten a lot of great feedback on it, so I'm excited to get that shit done.
