And the main reason for this journal: I've fallen in love. She's everything I look for in a girl. She's pretty, she's polite, she's friendly, she's great at cheering people up, and she has the most beautiful eyes.
Unfortunately I've been holding back on asking her out because my best mate also likes her, and I don't want him to get hurt. But that's not why I say love hurts.

I love her. I mean REALLY love her. Like I said, she's everything I look for in a girl, and more. Of course, every good thing gets completely fucked up in my life. I know that I don't stand a hope in hell. The reason: Im 16. She's 14.
That doesn't stop me. After all it's only 2 years. Unfortunately, no matter what my feelings, her mother absolutely hates me. She doesn't know me, but hates me. And all because I'm 16. She has this stupid view that all 16 year olds are out for one thing, and one thing only. And no matter what, i'll never her prove to her otherwise.

Like I said. Love is a cruel mistress. I guess it is true that only fools fall in love.

10) Cossacks - PC. An amazing RTS, and the one that actually got me into the genre. It's got OK graphics, and it's fun to play, with a decent amount of challenge. Requires a lot of thinking, as just building up a huge army and swarming the enemy doesn't always work.

9) The Lion King - Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. A solid platformer based on a cool movie. Believe or not there are actually some games based on movies that are actually GOOD, and this is one of them. The reason this isn't higher on my top 10 list is the fact I didn't really play it that much.

8) Alien Trilogy - PS1. One of the few first person shooters that i was able to play without feeling sick. And bloody hard. The graphics were OK for it's time, and very similar to Doom.

7) Deus Ex: Invisible War - PC. I haven't really played this one much, but what i've played of it it's a solid shooter, with a good storyline. Theres lots of choices to be made throughout the game, and each one has it's rewards and consequences.

6) Final Fantasy 6 - PS1. The 3rd final fantasy game I ever played. I've put the PS1 version on here because it was the first version I played, and before the GBA was the only version to be released here in the UK (i think) It didn't get any higher than this because I never beat it. I got about half way through and then that nasty thing known as my cousin decided to delete all my save data from my memory card. And on top of that stole a few games of mine

5) Final Fantasy 7 - PS1. Go on fanboys, flame me. Call me a noob. It won't affect me. This game is only at number 5 because it isn't as good as people say. People just obsess over it. Wake up call for you major fanboys/girls out there: THERE ARE BETTER FINAL FANTASY GAMES THAN THIS ONE!!!! I'll admit, i'm a bit of a fanboy for the game, BUT I know that it isn't the best.

4) Final Fantasy 8 - PS1. I don't get why this game is hated on so much. It was a good game, it just could needed a few tweaks. I personally think that the junctioning system was quite ingenius, but it could have been implemented differently. And to those who think it was too complicated THERES A ****ING AUTO SYSTEM THAT DOES ALL THE WORK FOR YOU BASED ON WHAT COMBAT STYLE YOU CHOOSE (Attack, Magic and Defence)

3) Worms - PC. A fun little games, that was great on those days where I just didn't feel like playing a hardcore games such as Alien Trilogy, or Final Fantasy. Great for chilling out with a few friends.

2) Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. Old school sonic. God damn i miss those days. Back when sonic was just a solid platformer with not much of a story. Old school story: A blue Hedghog runs around a lot, jumps on robots to defeat Robotnkik. New Story: A blue hedghog falls in love with a human, wield swords, air rides and pretty much does everything. except what he was originally designed to do!!!! Sega, if you're reading this then PLEASE go back to the old school sonic. please!!!

1) Ristar - Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. A gem from my childhood that hardly anyone has actually heard of. Ristar is a little shooting star that goes from planet to planet defeat bosses. Thats all there is to it. Ristar was set to be next Sonic, but was unfortunately ignored because the PlayStation. Will there ever be a sequel? Probably not. But i don't care. Ristar was the first game I ever played and damn it was fun. He goes through levels killing enemies by grabbing them with stretchy arms, and then slamming into them. With his face! He also built on something that Sonic started. Stand stills. Y'know, when you stop playing for a few seconds and you're character does something amusing. Well, Ristar took it one step further, by having a different one in each level. For example, in the fire level he sits down and rests. In the music level he snaps his fingers to the beat. In the snow level he builds a little snowman. Damn he's cute. And very fun to play.

Made it to Phin, and met Scott at the pub, but sadly his wounds were too great and he passed away, but not before giving me a ring to take back to Hilda. And telling me to tell his brother to stop being such an emo bastard and get on with his life (or words to that effect).

Given Hilda the ring, and now I have to take Minh with me to Salmando, to get some Mithril (why can no one in games like this do things themselves??)

Taken the items from Minh (Ether and Icescyth) and sold all my excess items, except for the Canoe and the Ring. Also bought an Ice spell. I've taken the canoe to Palm and bought 3 bronze shields, gave one of my bucklers to Minh, and sold the other 2. I've also walked all the way to Palm, gaining a few stats on the way.

Made it to Bofsk and just Heal for Firion, arrived at Salmando and met with Josef to get directions to the Semite Cave

Spent a little time to grind MP for Firion and Maria, and also gained a couple of points in Soul for Firion, and a few points in INT for Maria, so everything's going ok for the most part.

Made it to the Semite Cave, and gained a bit of HP on the way as well (all thanks to a battle against a Soldier XD)

Finally, i've got the Mithril. I also found an Exit spell which i taught to Firion.

I defeated Lich in the earth cave, defeated Kary in the volcano (surprisingly easy. i must remember not to over-level) and also defeated Eye in the ice cave and got the floater. So thats 2 orbs down, and now i have the airship. I've spoken with Bahamut and got my class upgrades, so now im Red Wizard, White Wizard, Master and Knight (DOUBLE YAY!!!) and i've just made to level 26. I'm just finishing some preparations and then i'll be off to the water shrine to face Kraken.

So i started yesterday, and then this morning i decided that i'll update you guys on my progress, let you know if i get stuck etc. Mainly so i have something worth writing about in my journal, but also because its inspired by those Let's Play.... things on youtube. only in text format.

So yeah, i've been playing ff1 with a party of Fighter, White Mage, Black Belt, and Red Mage. All at level 12, and i'm just about to enter the earth cave for the first time.


yeah, thats it really. In the future i'll go into a bit more detail than that, but at the moment thats all i can think of writing....

EDIT: i seem to have gone the wrong way, and ended up in an entirely different cave with a giant stopping me from passing. I'm about to head back to Melmond to try and find my way

Anyway, just finished having my ass kicked in a guitar battle with Joe Perry (guitarist of Aerosmith) in Guitar Hero Career mode. I just can't beat the little asshole!!!!

Unfortunately I've got the 80GB PS3 which doesn't have backwards compatibility, so i've still gotta keep my ps2 (great! more space taken up on the shelf!)

Resistance isn't as good as I thought it would be, but it's still an awesome game. I've only played a couple of hours of it just to get used to the controls, but later on im gonna start playing it seriously.

Other pressies i got include clothes, turkish delight (yummy! ^^), a second controller, a ps3 remote (for teh blu-ray), Guitar controller (i had GH special edition, which incloudes the guitar), a watch, an alarm clock, and a book (Vampirates: Tide of Terror)

anyway, i'm off to play tony hawk's proving ground for a bit. Merry Christmas. Or to be a bit more up to date Happy Boxing Day ^^

But, on a lighter note: WOOT I'M OFF SCHOOL FOR 5 DAYS! Yup, starting tommorow I'll be working from 9:30 am until 5:30 pm for 5 days in a computer shop. not much, but it's work experience. It gets me a week of school, so, who's complaining? well.... i probably will if one of my friends turns up at my house again, despite me telling her that i wont be going out during my work experience (chances are, i'll just want to sit at my computer and play oblivion when im not working) trust me, she NEVER gets the message.

So, going back to the writer's block thing, if anyone knows how to cure writer's block, i will be EXTREMELY happy to here about it.

Did you ever notice that certain things only happen in the movies, but never happen in real life? For example:

1. It is always possible to find a parking spot directly outside or opposite the building you are visiting.
2. When paying for a taxi, don’t look at your wallet as you take out a note. Just grab one out at random and hand it over. It will always be the exact fare.
3. Television news bulletins usually contain a story that affects you personally at the precise moment it’s aired.
4. Creepy music (or satanic chanting) coming from a graveyard should always be closely investigated.
5. Any lock can be picked with a credit card or paperclip in seconds. UNLESS it’s the door to a burning building with a child inside.
6. If you decide to start dancing in the street, everyone you bump into will know all the steps.
