Today was okay because I talked to my best friends on the phone for five hours and talked about how excited we were that I was going to move in with them come May. My spirits were pretty high, life was bearable.

What's up? I'm depressed. And I don't mean I'm just blue. I mean that I can't sleep and have to stay up until six AM just to get exhausted enough to slip into unconsciousness, then I can't see the point in getting out of bed. I'm just going through the motions of life, there's no point, no purpose to my actions. My hands forget how to hold a pencil properly, my work is tight and awkward, all my ideas contrived. I have to give it some thought, as I've always considered the characters as little colored blobs, who grow limbs necessary for whatever the task at hand might be. In a neutral state they're just sort of a tapered cylinder with a head. That aside, I enjoy the more flowing look with non-defined hands and clothing, the minimalism. I'm not sure if I would change my style. The style of The In Joke is about clean lines and minimalism, no unnecessary lines. I am perfectly able to draw hands, I'm just making a decision not to. Helped organize the school art show. Arrange catering, transport artwork, hang and arrange it, attend the opening and mingle. Exhausting, but the food was fantastic, fancy cheeses and lots of kinds of crackers, not to mention the fruit trays, the veggie trays, mini cheesecakes and other scrumptious desserts.

Then there was the community project where we taught kids how to do crafts. I manned the hot glue guns and told that one kid ten times DO NOT TOUCH THE HOT GLUE.

Everyone seems to like my Shakespeare project, ruthlessly ripping off A Midsummer Night's Dream. The current pages up encompass scene one. I certainly hope it doesn't take four pages for every scene. That would be far too many pages to get done before the semester is out.

Life is good. I finally got my hair cut, which I had put off until my hair was long enough to start curling up at the ends, almost covering my ears.

My birthday has come and gone. My parents, wonderful people, gave me a sweater and a digital tablet. Guess which I like better. It's amazing how easy the tablet makes things, I never realized how hard it was using a mouse and/or laptop pad to color. I certainly hit the undo button considerably less.

Another thing, I'm writing again. I probably haven't mentioned it much here, but I love to write fiction. I've set up base in the living room, since my room is a closet and it's easier to work out here. And it's warmer. 70 degrees as compared to the 65 it is in my bed room. Darn the expensive heating bills!

Got six comics done, two of which I just posted. The art has improved again, which makes me happy. They've almost got hands!

One week from now finals begin, so I'm wrapping up loose ends in regards to homework and commiting half a Spanish book worth of vocabulary to memory. I've got a conversation tomorrow and I've got to vamos soon and remember how to say potato chips in Spanish (papitas) and that I ate cereales y una manzana (cereal and an apple) for breakfast.

Myself and four friends all wore matching hooded cloaks. The cloaks were splendiferous and made by my roommate just for us Overlords(as we call ourselves). My roommate's brother had an old fashioned oil lantern which we lit up for our walk down to the river. A book of Edgar Allan Poe's complete works in hand, we found a nice dark spot and read aloud by lantern light.

It was quite atmospheric, with just the dim yellow light and the river gurgling around the rocks in the chilly evening. Life goes on, school goes well. Working on several comics but haven't had the time to finish any, but rest assured that once I have the time I'll really crank them out. Right now I'm setting up my printer/scanner in the living room of my apartment. This is my second DeviantART account, the purpose of this one being to focus on my attempts at comic book art. I'm hoping to get some feedback, learn what I need to do to improve so I can continue to grow as an artist.
