They have a new main subject were I will be participating. Photojournalism.

I'm going to Dublin tomorrow night (28th) with the school and we're going to see lot's of stuff, drink lot's of guinness and make lot's of photos.

Long time no see...

I'm at a new school. It a 'hÃ¸jskole'. I don't know if you have these kinds of school in other parts of the world, but I think it's called an adult educational college in english.

It's great though. I have photography as the main subject. I've been doing a lot of stuff in the darkroom and will probably show some of it here if I pull myself together and scan it.

I have a classmate here whom I thought I didn't know, but it turned out it's Lasse Damgaard ~Nullermanden himself. So that's awesome.

Been spending again

This time I've bought a Mamiya RZ67 medium format camera. I found one for a bargain price. 3500 DKK (Â466) plus I got like 25 rolls of film and a shoulder bag with it.

It's huge! Here it is compared to my OM-2n on top of the Epson V700 scanner.

I've been shoting quite a bit of film, but I'm not really impressed by the image quality. Hence the lag of submissions.
It's a much bigger challange to get nice results than it is with digital. If you did something wrong, you won't know till you've developed the photos. But I enjoy using the old OMs so I'll definately keep shooting.

Some favs:

The 1st of July, I went with some friends to the Roskilde Festival and it was.. One big puddle of mud! A lot of fun though. One week with camping, drinking and some of the best music in the world. I brought two Olympus Trip 35 cameras, one with color and one with black & white film.

Rubber boots was a must..

July 13th, Metallica gave concert in Ãrhus, 50km from where I live. Man what a show.

July 21st, this years grÃ¸n(green) koncert landed in Ãrhus. We listened to some great music and a friend of mine took the jump from a big crane. And just to show off, he took off most of his clothes too.
I have quite a lot of photos from that event lol I was sooo drunk.

Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to use a camera at the Metallica koncert.

here. As you can see, the DOF is amazingly small at f1.2 lol I think I need to practice manual focus in low light a little more.
It's HP5+ at 800 iso. I was able to shoot till like 23 o'clock (11 pm if you will ).

New toys, film, kittens.

I think I'm falling in love with the Olympus OM system and I just got some new (old) lenses:

OM-2n with Zuiko 55mm f1.2 and OM-10 with Soligor 17mm f3.5

Zuiko 20mm f2.0 (ultra) macro (click to enlarge)

This lens is crazy, but dark. I don't know why it says f2 because it doesn't really let as much light in as a normal f2 lens would. I think I need a macro flash, twin or ring, to get some nice results (suggestions welcome).
Here's a danish krone shot at iso 1600, f4 I think. It's the same coin as in the above picture.

And some shots with the 55mm 1.2 (click to enlarge)

Left is @ f1.2 right is @ f2.0. As you can see, it's rather soft wide open.
But these are all taken with the e-500 and bacuse of the smaller sensor, they are softer than on film.

I also made some shots with the 17mm, but that was on b&w film (ilford pan f+). I'm gonna try and develop it myself soon and scan 'em. Yes, I'm gonna start shooting film!

And our cat just got kittens.

April 4th

I will have 5 images on display at the annual easter exhibition held by Art association here in Ebeltoft. And that's in Denmark. Last year they had about 2200 visitors so I'm a little excited.

It's at the two schools 'Toftevangskolen and Molsskolen'. The doors are open from tomorrow Thursday the 5th till sunday the 8th. Just in case any of you are going to Denmark this weekend. ;D

I hate Internet explorer.. If everyone would just use firefox or any other browser, this journal would look the same to everyone. Now there's a big gap between the header and the text in FF because it has to look good in IE as well. :-/

I finally got the Zuiko 11-22mm 2.8-3.5.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was how small it is. I thought that a lens like this would be a lot bigger.
It's not ultra wide, but I think it wil cover my needs just fine. Both the optical and build quality is great. And it's pretty fast too.
Compared to the kit lens, the manual focus is much more precise and there's a distance scale too. I don't feel like there's a big difference in the autofocus, but it should be able to autofocus in lower light because of the larger aperture.

Trying some macro here. It can go pretty close.

I hope I'll get some nice shots to submit soon.
Next purchase will be some bigger filters.

I'm also getting some new gear soon. I've been playing around on eBay <3. It's so exciting
Just won like 15 cokin filters plus a bunch of holders and adapter rings for 11 £. I know cokin filters are of poor quality, but 11 pounds!!

I hope I can get the 11-22mm cheaper on eBay too and I've also found one used, but I haven't bid on it yet.

Now that I've seen the new lenses I'm kinda considering buying 77mm filters insted of 72, but on the other hand. It will probably be at least a few years if I get the 14-35.

Also, this lens looks like a fat fish! I'm sure it's nice but you would probably end up getting a very small penis using it.

Fisheye or Wide zoom?

I've been thinking about getting a new lens, but I can't decide whether to go for the ZD 8mm 3.5 or the ZD 11-22mm 2.8-3.5.

Goods and bads about the fisheye:
I'm not able to use filters.
Crazy perspectives.
Panoramas with less pictures.
180 degree field of view.
Cheaper.

Goods and bads about the 11-22mm:
Filters! yay, but I'll have to spend some extra money on some new and bigger ones. (72mm)
2x zoom.
It's brighter.
No distortion.
More expensive.

Tell me what you think.

Exhibition

I finally got some of my work on display for the first time. It's in "Kulterhuset Pavillonen" in Grenå.
Now I just hope that people will like them and maybe buy something.

I'm also picking up a new graphics card today. It's a Radeon X1950 pro from asus. It's pretty cheap, but a good card for the money. I can't wait to try out the latest Splinter cell and Rainbow six.

Lens adapter

A few days ago I got a lens adapter so that I can use my fathers old OM lenses. He has a Zuiko 50mm f1.8 and a kenlock 80-200mm f4.5 plus a kenlock 2x teleconverter. He used them with his OM-2 camera wich is a pretty good camera, but I don't have plans about starting to shoot film.

The interesting thing is that when you put these lenses infront of the little censor of a four thirds camera, it doubles the focal length. That's not very cool when using the 50mm actually, but the kenlock is now a 160-400mm and with the teleconverter, a 320-800mm (correct me if I'm wrong) .
It's impossible to take pictures with it handheld though. If it's not stopped down to atleast f11 it's not sharp at all. Also, the manual focus is not easy with the small (if not tiny) viewfinder of the E-500.

Yesterday I got my first filters! Yay.

I now have the following:

Heliopan lin. Polarizer
Heliopan cir. Polarizer
Hoya (R72) Infrared filter
Hoya ND 8x & 4x
Cokin P197 Sunset Grad
Cokin P120 & P121 ND Grad filters

I got some reccomendations before I bought 'em and people said that the cokin filters are not as good as Lee, singh-ray etc. But, I don't have a lot of money to deal with here so I went for the Cokins. I do think that I'm going to be satisfied with them though. They look fine to me and I will make sure to treat them right.

Here's an Infrared picture I took yesterday:

This is just a scrap as it is not colorized yet.
It appears that my camera has some filter inside that stops infrared and UV light form hitting the censor (or something like that). Therefore I needed a very long shutter speed. 20 seconds in this case. That's why the wind mill is blurred.
I hope to do a lot more of these.

It's my 16th birthday today (May 17, 06)!

A friend of mine made me a big print of my swan picture. It's about 60-70 cm wide don't know it exactly, but it's great.

I bought an olympus zuiko digital 40-150mm lens and recieved it just last week. I bought it on ebay to save some money because it sure is expensive.
I also bought some small macro lenses so I will probably be making a lot of macros soon.

Computer Crash

Wednesday it happened. My computer totally froze so I rebooted it and guess what. Afterwards it couldn't start windows. It just came up with some blue screen. So I searched for an answer to that damn blue screen and I found a lot. I found out it was some harddisc error. Well, I finally fixed the problem, but I can't acces my stuff. (All my pictures, music and stuff) So now I am sitting here trying to recover it all.
I alredy got my most important documents and all my pictures(Thank God). But the rest is gonna take like forever to get back. I'm working on it now and probably will be the next few days too.
