Common Sense

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
Knowing when to come in out of the rain
Why the early bird gets the worm
Life isnÂt always fair,

and maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (donÂt spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.
Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

He declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an Aspirin to a student, but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldnÂt defend yourself from a burglar in your own home without the burglar suing you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, spilled a little in her lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents Truth and Trust, by his wife Discretion, his daughter Responsibility, and his son Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers: I Know My Rights; I Want It Now; Someone Else Is To Blame; and IÂm A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

My mom's home from the hospital now. <3 Still in pain and can't do much, but so far it's been okay. She's stuck up in her bedroom though.

In other news, I've been talking to , since I was entering his contest and all ;D (Which all of you should enter, since it's an amazing amount of fun) and he recently started a new 'challenge', of sorts.

One of the entries for his contest was based off a poem her wrote which was based off a picture he saw. So, finding this all rather funny, he decided to write a poem based off the contest entry. And now, I made a picture based off of his new poem. <3 We're gonna try and see how far we can take this and how many people we can get involved!

Update on Life

I'm sure you all want to hear about this, no?

Well, first off, starting next month, my activity may dwindle a bit. D 8 But that's because I'll be looking after my half paralyzed mom. o-o Wish me luck. It'll be 9-12 months before she regains the use of her left leg.
House is belonging to me. Included all the cooking and stuff. Fun stuff.

Well. I started watching Lost the other day. I've seeenn.. the Pilot.. and first two episodes. @_@ WTH is in the jungle.
My suspicions lead towards Godzilla, but I haven't yet found proof.

I am doing a challenge thingy through the month of September. :] You have to write a letter every day throughout September. A friend of mine, Dani, put it in one of her journals: [link]

I really have no reason to be writing this journal, but I felt like doing it anyway. Most of you probably don't care about what's happening with me, so I won't bore you with that. Doesn't that make you happy?

Well, I take that all back! Because I have nothing else to talk about than what's going on with me.

Anyway, I need to start writing more. :/ I really wanted to finish my novel this month.. and I haven't written more than a page and a half since the 1st. So far.. yeah, not going so well.

Also, I'm entering a contest hosted by the AMAZZZINNGGG , however, my muse has left me rather.. wordless? So far I have half a page written and nothing about a classic book. Meh! I should write that soon!

What else? I should write poetry. I have a lot of feelings to write about. My best friend and I 'broke-up'. I have cried a lot. She was the only friend (that I know outside of the internet) I talked to on a daily basis. I used to stay up late just to text her. And now, we are no longer friends.. because I 'changed' and attacked her without warning or something. :/

I need inspiration. Maybe one of you lovely people would like to suggest something for me? I'd be willing to write you something... maybe, if I have an idea. o.x It may take me awhile; working 50 hours a week kinda makes your brain into mush. Especially when it involves two girls and a LOT of Hannah Montana. I'd rather not talk about it... -shudder-

IIIIII am going to a Rascal Flatt's concert on Saturday with my dad. 8D I'm also taking a train to the city by myself @_@ But, no worries my dear friends, I shall attack any stalkers with an EpiPen! >K I'ma meet my dad in the city, since he'll be working. :]
