Listening to some really good music (at least my 5 star Itunes music) and stitching some new pano's from today as well as some normal HDR deviations. I really hope you like them as I went to a state park here in south Texas and walked some hard trails to get them.

Its been a bit slow this last week as far as photography is concerned. Sometimes you just have to take that small break to think and spend time doing other things. I just finished reading a book called "The Shack" which has led me into some new arena's of thought about my family and relationship with God. It was a pretty good read and a good break from the normal historical fiction I usually read. Of course I did finish it and now am back to reading a book on Genghis Khan..

Well, we went on a quick vacation to my grandparents this past weekend. It is always nice to get out to the beautiful Texas hill country. Now I am back home and back to work. I actually work here at home writing SQL code and generating reports. I won't bore you with the details of course but I am privileged to be able to work right here where my PC, dA, and my camera are always calling my name.

I am so glad that spring is in full force now around here. I love the greens, blues, and the wonderful sun.. Also, its great to see my garden taking off now. I get to go on vacation to my grandparents out in the hill country here in Texas this weekend. I look forward to getting a few good shots while I am there as the flowers are in full swing.

I was able to make it into Houston today to go to the shooting range (I love my HK .45) and then I went walking the streets to take some shots (from my camera that is). It was a great day, overcast, and I was able to get some great photo's.

I have been experimenting for awhile with different variations of photography and gathering critiques on a different variety of techniques. I have been working to find what I enjoy in a good deviation but also what you enjoy. Thanks for the help with that! I now have a good understanding of what feeling my work should portray and how to get it there.

Of course things are always changing so who knows how long that will last. However, I want to let you all know that I appreciate this community and each of you for helping with critiques, comments and just looking at my work. Thanks, there is much more to come.

Went out and celebrated my first thousand page hits by going to take some new shots. It turned out pretty well, me and my mother in law went to a bird sanctuary here in Texas. Didn't really get any pics of birds but got some good landscape shots. The flowers are in full bloom here and it's one of my favorite times of the year.

I am happy to see that I am about to hit the big 1K mark. Thanks for stopping by and contributing to that. I have to figure out what I should do to commemorate that first milestone here on DA. Guess its a good excuse to get out and go on a fun photo shoot.

By the way, take a few minutes and critique some of my work as the new DA feature for critiquing is pretty cool. I'm glad they added it as it will help many to become better photographers. OF course you have to be a subscriber to use it but I guess that's ok.

Its been pretty dark and dreary around here lately which usually squashes my passion to do any photography. It usually just makes me sleepy.. I appreciate all of the recent feedback and critiques on some of my newer work. It always helps me so I can get inspired to try different things that I might have not done on my own.

I actually think favorites are used way too much by most on dA. I keep a very minimal amount of favs because I want only the best in there, it means more to me and the artist that way. If I get favs from someone I usually check out their favorite gallery and if I see huge amounts of favs it just doesn't mean so much anymore.

Comments mean the most as it says to me that you are taking time out to express something about my work, I especially like critiques. I want to hear what you have to say about my work, and I want to hear what you think I should do to make it better. So please dont just fav something quickly and move on, give me a comment and let me know what you think!
