The boyfriend surprised me the night before by coming in the door with a piece of Tiramisu (my favorite non ice cream dessert) with a single blue (favorite color) candle. We shared it on the couch, and cuddled up and went to bed. On my actual birthday, I was at work all day, and somehow manged to get pulled over by a cop. A rather pissy cop mind you, but he didn't ticket me for the million things he could have, so not a bad cop.

~two nights ago we had extream flooding here in my area of WI. Roads were litterly flooding so high that cars that didn't see it or tried to drive hrough it wound up stuck with water over their hoods. I actually was cut off from getting back home (was out with my friends in their car) so I holed myself up at a different friends house till around 5 am when things had calmed down and he drove me home. Now, I had left my Nintendo DS, my GPS, my camera, and portable air compressor in my car that day because I had used them, and just planned on nabbing them when I got home. However, the rain had been sudden, and I didn't want to wade through the pond (not kidding, came up to my knees) to get at my car which was safely at the high end of the parking lot.

Next morning, my friend walked out to my car, poked around it a bit, and came back in. My car had been robbed. They had pulled up the rubber weather stripping and jimmied it open. I'm now out my 300$ stereo as well as everything listed above. Cops said that honestly don't expect my stuff back. They also roughed up my car. So now I have n one night lost over 100$ worth of my personal stuff because I didn't want them all getting soaked and ruined coming into he house in the trenchal downpour.

~I am really hurt and upset by a lot of other stuff going on in my life as well. But then again, who isn't?

~My birthday is less then a month away, and I just forgot about it till today when the boyfriend mentioned something. I doubt I will have the time or money to actually do anything for said birthday, because I'm broke broke.Considering it's July 4th, I might go out and watch other peoples fire work displays, as the fireworks of the fourth normally carry over into the 5th (and are my favorite aspect of my birthday). Also will be moving at the end of July, so I think I will be to busy to plan anything.

~Still trying to get my motorcycle license. Cross everything for me I can find a class and get certified before the summer is over. That was one of my big summer goals.

Alright, hopefully THAT got your attention enough to at least READ what I'm putting in here, as it is a little important to me.

Ok, so...As some of you might know, Damica's contract at her job that allowed her to pay her bills expired. Now while they had been talking to me like they had plans to hire me, I guess that was not so. Long story short, I'm back to working about MAYBE if I'm lucky 10 hours a week at a job that pays $6.65 and hour BEFORE taxes.

I have another job interview on Monday to work at *cringes* Wet Seal in the mall. However, even if I land that second job, I will not be getting a pay check till after the first of October. I have almost zilch in my bank account due to A) Gas prices B) Rent from last month C)everything else. Since losing my job I have cut back my spending A LOT and have even put off doctor appointments.

Now this is where you, my friend/watcher/whoever you are, can help.

Ok, well, Dani has recently found out that the abnormal cells in my cervix are changing, and I have been putting off getting a biopsy done for about a year+ because the cost was around $300 and As someone supporting themselves, that’s a lot of money. Even getting 40 hours a week, that’s almost a entire paycheck for my current job, let alone my crappy old one. Well, I figure I need to get it done, and the doctor decided to cut me a SMALL deal by lowering the price to $275 and waiving their fee for lab tests.
Thing is, now I ALSO have an apartment, food, cat, car, and life to factor in around the paycheck I get. Gas keeps going up, I need to eat, and the cost of living isn’t getting much cheaper. So, in light of this, I was thinking of offering 20 $10 full bodies and colored commissions, or 40 $5 colored bust commissions in order to save up money to help cover getting the biopsy done so I don’t fall behind din bills or rent. Good idea? Bad idea? Feedback? Would you want one? Should they be traditional or digital, or choice of the customer? Maybe offer bookmarks instead of just a straight bust shot?

My current feature is actually an RL friend, Gen. She has been doing chain mail since BEFROE I met her three years ago. She currently runs a small home business and does local gaming cons. The Gladators come from a few different "walks" of life. Primarily, they are slaves bought off the black market or bred like animals. Weak ones die, strong ones live. Others are killers or other criminals from Georanga. A few are even people falsely accused by the corrupt government and are also labeled as criminals, though unless cunning and strong, they often are killed within their first match.

This contest is about creating one of the gladiators of the Georanga arena. They can be of any race, any gender, but please keep this in mind.

~Cassava is about the only one of her race that serves in the Georanga arena. There is maybe one or two other Saiyan, but they are rarely born on the planet. Entering one you already made though would make sense.
~Females are also rare. Most who are bought are bought for their beauty and placed in the royal harem and draped in silks and jewelry. I will be running a harem girl contest along with the gladiator one, so you may draw an entry for both.
~Any race is allowed, even one you just made up. Please keep in mind though you are not making gods here. They are fighters, powerful but not godly
~You may use a character you already have and enter them as a gladiator. They would most likely be present for the uprising of the gladiators when they over throw the government, so you don’t have to worry about them being a gladiator forever.
~ Gladiators CAN’T fly. Flying is forbidden. If they were raised on the planet they wouldn’t know how. If they ended up on the planet some how (crash landed, captured while on a mission, ect) they lock a bracer around your neck that keeps you from flying by applying heavy gravity souly on you at the push of a button.

Georanga is also famous for it’s vast harem of lovely ladies of all races. This harem is used by high ranking government officials as well as the royal guard. The girls are taught grace, arts, and music to entertain the politicians and others who use them. When not being used, the girls are kept in a giant room high in the castle a to keep them from escaping (remember no flight). All and all, they live a rather comfy life. The only bad thing is they are, as a harem girl, sometimes forced to “consort” with men whom they hate and submit to whatever they wish to do.

Things to remember:

~Harem girls/guys are pretty and forced to wear exotic and light clothing. Your basic “salve girl/guy” fan fare.
~Like the gladiator contest, you can enter a girl/guy you already have. Once the uprising happens, the girls/guys of the harem are set free, so you don’t have to worry about remaining a harem girl for long.
~Same thing with the flight. If you make someone who was raised there, they are not taught to fly. If you are entering a girl you already had, she is forced to wear a collar that keeps her grounded.
~harem girls who fight back against the royal decree (aka, performing at dinners or gathering, consorting with the man who chose them, ect) are punished. Today is my 21st birthday…however, I’m not very happy. I’m actually quite sad.

My grandmother passed away late last night/this morning. Was the first thing I heard when I woke up.

Kinda hard to be happy about your birthday when someone you have been close to all your life passes away. My family is super close, and growing up with a single mom, grandma and grandpa watched me a lot. I would snuggle up in a chair with her and we would read RickTickyTembo.

Apparently my grandpa reached over this morning, touched her, she was cold, and he knew she was gone. I called my mom first thing this morning when I woke up to talk to her about my birthday, and so I got this first thing. It has really kinda put a bad mood on the day, not that that can change or be helped. Death is natural, and she was at peace with her god, but that still doesn’t take all the pain away, just makes dealing with it a little easier.

Cried this morning, will most likely cry latter…but right now I’m at work, on my birthday, on the day my grandma passed away. I’m not allowed to cry.

Well, I found out this morning my grandmothers cancer and spread up into her body, and after fighting it for three years, she is going to lose her battle within a matter of weeks/months, as the tumors can't be removed by any medical means. She was told to start making aragments for hospice and a funeral when she gets realsed from the hospital.

This is very depressing for me, as growing up my grandparents watched me a lot while my mom was at work. Also, they were just about the only "stable"a nd "real" relationship in my life. I've always admired my grandma, and the fact that I now live two hours away and can't be with her hurts. I really am kinda depressed now..sorry to be emo...but I just feel off because of the whole thing.

Art wise, if anyone would like to do a trade or something, drop me a line. I don't have much time, but i will eventually get it done. Right now I'm working on some line arts for ...but thats not so much an art trade as something i wanted to do.

It's hard to work because every time I get a call (I work in a call center) I get the sound of rushing fluids in my ears. Otherwise..I'm good. I think tonight i might just go home and sleep and not worry about laundry, drawing, or anything else. Might read.

Other then that...not much else is up. Slight flurries on my way to work. The world is very "gray" today. I kinda want to take some bright paint and splash it all around..make things more colorful.

it's not 100% certain I'm even going to A-cen. Unfortunately, with my new job, it might be hard to finagle off both a Friday and Saturday unless I make REAL good friends with another person in the call center.

However, if I do go, I want to cosplay. I have always wanted to every since I joined the anime since way back when Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball was on NORMAL tv. However, I grew up in Green Bay, WI...and that is hicksvill for anime, let alone cons and other such fan-fare like Cosplay. Also, cons where out of the question due to having a single mother. We weren't poor, but things like taking a weekend off to go to a con she wouldn't enjoy all the way in Chicago was kinda out of the question. I have been to tattoo conventions, biker conventions, leather swap meets, jewelry cons, and now geek/gamer cons...but never a full fledged anime con.

After meeting Amber, I was overjoyed when she invited me to go to A-cen. Call be stupid happy, but the little tween in me is overjoyed at the prospect of possibly getting to finally go.

However, this brings up something else.

Anyone who knows me well enough knows that I NEVER pass up a chance to get dressed up. Even the first time I went to renfair I had a dress (thank you Kat, you'll never know how much that dress still means to me and you still need to give me the bill). A-cen, if I can go (both work and financially stable), I have hopes to dress up for. I had planned on commissioning from the site [url=www.beanime.com]www.BeAnime.com[/url] when I had my dispatch job, but thankfully I didn't because I had my job pulled out from under me and needed what money I made to keep me afloat. Now it is to close to deadline to compassion her, and thats fine. However, it leaves it up to me and my par-for-the-course sewing skills to save the day.

I have complied a list (rather long) of possible choices, as well as pros and cons. I'm looking for viewpoints from other cosplayers on difficulty, and my friends to offer up ideas or what they think would be best.

Keep in mind I am also going with two other girls, possibly three.
So, onto this list.

~Moogle: Final Fantasy series
Everyone should know my love of moogles...end of story...kupo
Pros:
-Easily recognizable by the pompom
-I love moogles, so it would be easy for me to dress as one.
-Costume could be anything from a white pants and shirt to black fuzzy dress. This leaves a lot of open options between buying parts of it or actually sewing.
-Can more or less pose with anyone from FF and seem in place.
-Can use outfit without pom pom and wings as a everyday outfit if I so chose.
-Moogles come in all sizes and colors, so the other girls in my group can also dres sup as moogles and we can all be a set.
_Can write "Save point" on my ass and people will think it's funny
Cons:
- I have NO idea HOW to make a decant ear/pompom deal. Would I use a head band or what? I am REALLY lost.
-Moogles are slightly over done, or so I have heard
-Writing "save point" on my ass may attract unwanted attention -_-;;

Mokona: Misc CLAMP series (I'm a CLAMP fan girl..STFU)
Pros:
-Also an animal character, so I am left to my own imagination as how the dress should look.
-Not overdone if I'm correct.
Cons:
-Only two Mokonas as far as I know, so one girl would be left out unless they dressed up as someone else from a Clamp series the Mokonas are in
-Not sure how one would make ears like that look good with a wig
-Would most likely need a wig

Kimonos: Asian culture
Pros:
-Patterns for basic Kimonos are at your local craft store, often on sale.
-Classic
-All three/four girls can be dressed up as such
-Vist China town for sandals and Asian parasols for props...normally cheap
Cons:
-As much as I love Kimonos, I would most likely only wear it for stock photos. I'm not Asian, so it isn't really useful for photo shoots outside of Anime cons as it is big and bulky.
-I would much rather have a fun and different kind, like Wa-loli or even something based of Chinese Tang Dynasty dresses.
-Overdone

Pros:
-Can be made of any fabric and colors I want
-Cute, stylish, and slightly different
-easier to move in
-Not super bulky
Cons:
-patterns are not easily found
