Yes its me again. another long sabatical from putting any work up. But I have been busy as always.

I have had many requests to update it with all the new Doctors. So after contemplating it and starting it as a 2D image I decided to try something different.

So instead of doing a 2D painting I have decided to go all 3D and create the scene in 3D Studio Max.

So I am going to make all the Doctors in 3D, Texture, normal map, rig and pose them. Firstly I want to appologise for not updating and putting work on here for over year. How disgusting is that.

I have had a busy busy year since I last posted.

In the space of my last post I have passed my BA Honers degree in Entertainment Media with a 1st.

I have also passed my Teacher training in the Life long learning sector degree too. So I am now a fully qualified teacher.

I have also become a part time Karaoke compare at the Duke of York Pub in Blackpool whereI live, singing and entertaining the masses on a weekend.

I have finally got some new characters done for my Doctor Who project.

I will be uploading as soon as I have finished this journal some remders of the finished UNIT soldier. At the moment he is flat shaded and has no normal or specular maps but I thought it was about time I did an update.

Comments a crits are more than welcome.

I have also blocked out the meshes for the Stealth sontaran and the Heavy dudty Sontaran too.

No new updates at the moment. I have been busy laying out my game enviroment in Unreal and things just keep either crashing or not working so its very slow.

In two weeks I will be starting the creation of the different new army characters, Starting off with a UNIT soldier, followed by the Sontaran Shock trooper. So I will be able to show these off soon.

Until then. I am going to have to leave you all with nothing but a promise that mor eis to come.

So next job is to get the environment sorted to a basic playable level and then I am going to go back and initially do one of each redesign for all the armies. Probably starting off with either the Cybercannon or the UNIT Dalek Buster. We shall see.

I handed in all the work. Did my presentation yesterday and it feel like a weight has finally come off my shoulders.

Its been a long road so far and there is an even longer one ahead with the production phase. But thats where the exiting stuff happens.

So all my design work is done but I still need to put a few finishing touches to some of the final designs before I put them up on here.

They can get done in my own time though now so there's no rush.

Next I am going to get stuck into the Unreal 3 engine and start blocking out some level work. Not sure how to create a POLL on here but I need to know which you would prefer.

As part of my Doctor Who game the Dalek army need a bipedal force as part of their squad to balance things out a bit. The thing is. In their history they have used several types of humanoid in their goals to take over the universe.

So my question is. Who would you rather see in their army.

Robomen (from Dalek invasion of earth) or

Ogrons (from Day of the Daleks)

Both are cool in their own way but I can only use one of them.

I am also fed up because my Laptop has died and I am having to use my college one.

Downside is It hasnt got Photoshop on it. So I cant work on my concepts. GRRRRR.

4 weeks paid holiday. what a treat.

Only down side is my computer hard drive died on me last week and I need to get it fixed.

I am bringing my work laptop home fo rthe time I am off but its pretty basic and I have a feeling 3D studio Max and Unreal arn't going to work very well on it.

If all that fails I think I am going to just have to work on my design document and concepts till I get back then.

I guess it will give me time to work on my dissertation and my other creative writing projects too.

I am going to design the Sontaran forces next so that should be cool. I am going to try and mix the old style sontarans with the new style for the redesigns to try and tie in the original series with the new and get a bit of development in the continuity.

I am also going to try and nail the importing of characters in the Unreal engine too as that is vital for my development of the project.

Its coming along GREAT as usual and have almost finished the document. So at the end of the week I decided its about time I got some concept work done of all the Armies and troops that are going to be in the game.

So keep an eye out over the next couple of weeks for concepts of UNIT soldiers. DALEKS, Cybermen and sontarans.

I have already uploaded the line art for the Unit troopers so have a look at how its going.

colouring these in now and then I am going to move onto the new designs for the Sontarans. Cant wait to tackle them.

I have been working hard at my new job as a lecturer at St Helens College teaching the next generation of kids CG art and how to break into the industry.

Its all great and I am loving it.

At the same time as lecturing I have to study for a BA degree as I never completed one when I was a kid. So this has given me the oppertunity to do something I have been wanting to do for YEARS AND YEARS.

Well no new artwork to show really so I will just ramble on about what I have been up to.

I completed a Kylie Minogue custom action figure this week in her Spinning Around Gold hotpants.

Dont ask why I did this but It was mainly for the Outpost Gallifrey Doctor who toy forum that I subscribe to. A couple of freinds did their own favorite girl singers, those being Natasha Bedingfield and Lily Allen. Anyway. they are all on the forum now and people seem to love them. I will stick a pic of my Kylie on here after I have done this journal.

My names Dean and I have been drawing and making things ever since I can remember. I always wanted to get into comics but somehow ended up in video game development.

So I have been doing that for over 18 years now. With a few triple A titles behind me I am now working on DS and Wii games. All top secret of course as is the nature of gaming.

Anyway. I thought I would set up a Deviant blog so that I could put my works out there for people to see and hopefully enjoy.

As well as working in games I have written a childrens fantasy novel for wich I am currently in the long arduous task of illustrating. its getting there but its a slow ]]>
