DRAGON AGE: ORIGIN REVIEW

While there are a lot of things you can discuss about the genre known as fantasy, I can pretty say that it's actually pretty much the same. J.R.R. Tolkien pretty much defined fantasy with his series of novels that involved pretty much everything you can expect in most fantasy novels.

A huge medieval fantasy world is under threat by a or several douchbags hell bent to make things miserable only because their fathers didn't love them enough or they were seduced by some other demonic douch and it's up to a group of misfits lead by either a chosen one who usually lived in a nice quiet village in the mountains or a old grumpy wizard or wise guy who thinks he knows about everything and supply the dramatic convenience as a mentor father figure to the chosen one. They travel around, fight bad guys while the bad guys does his typical monologue and then a huge epic climax that mostly results in either more books to earn more money.

Okay, that was a harsch point of view. Don't get me wrong, I kinda like fantasy. Hell, I even just recently started to read Naomi Novik's Temeraire series (though I only borrowed them from the library), and it's a actually pretty damn good fantasy novel. So even if fantasy is cliché, you could pretty much say the same thing about every other genres. But some may apply to you, depending on more different and original approaches like settings and writings and such.

Same thing goes for RPGs in the video game industry. If you compare the western RPGs made in USA with the J-PRGs in Japan, you can pretty tell the huge difference in each game, but stil they have the same basic clichés. Like J-RPGs tends to get FUBAR with the whole deep and bizzare means of philosophies and emo gits with huge swords and weird hair while the western RPGs is mostly hardcore with more action and straight to the point.

But there are also games that really stands out. Like my personal favorites Dragon Quest VIII and Skies of Arcadia, both games is pretty much a basic clichés in most typical anime storylines, but they are pretty damn awesome with both writing and tone in the games. Like DQ8 is actually a really nostalgic and cheerful game with great characters and design, and don't get me started on Skies of Acradia but needless to say not only does it have a great original designs and settings, the storyline is so simple and yet so well written with a lot of emotions that you'd swear it was written by Hayao Miyasaki himself or atleast someone who works for him.

In the West, they got Diablo and Baldur's Gate. Okay, so there are alot of other great games, but I would like to point out these two games mostly because that's we expect from United States, one game is basically about walking around and bashing the snot out of monsters with all kinds of siza and shapes while the other is basically what defines roleplaying as you spend hours completing quests and getting upgrades and experience points so that your playable characters basically becomes a god.

Now to be honest, I have NEVER managed to completed more than 15-20% of Baldur's Gate 2. But I have been playing the Diablo series like crazy, and that only states on what kind of RPGs I really prefer. So I haven't really played much RPGs because they do get tedious for my taste, and there are only a few handful I actually completed. But that doesn't mean that I don't give some of the more hardcore RPGs a chance, and this is one of them.

With that said, let's take a look at Dragon Age: Origin.

The hype around this has been huge, as most gamers can clearly state. It started back in 2003 when Bioware annouced that they were working on a game that would be considered to be a spiritual sequel to their oh so famous Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights series, only it was stated to be a original game with own storylines and gameplay features and such.

As excitement rose, it was met by sceptism mostly because that Bioware was mostly known for making game based on other franchises like Star Wars and Dungeon & Dragons and when they released their own Jade Empire which was a okay game for my taste but it was critiziced for it's too much similarities with Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic and such. So gamers started to state that while they did make great games, they didn't seem to make a true game of their own.

But those claims that Bioware couldn't really make a true original game was quickly thrown away when Mass Effect which is a truely awesome action shooter with RPG elements came out. It was pretty much unlike then what most gamers would expect, but it wasn't like the developers wasn't none too familiar with action games. In fact their debut game was a action mecha game called Shattered Steel and they even m...

So... yeah, this week has been quite the horrific event.

Where to start? Well, it pretty much started in monday where my stomach started to act while me and *chili19 were watching the movie Zombieland on the theatre (the movie was just awesome) but it stopped during the first twenty minutes but got back when I was taking the train home.

On tuesday, I started to get nausea and headache all day but it was easily ignored even though the pain killers didn't do its work so well.

But on the wednesday, on the afternoon after I was wacthing some rented movies with chili, I started tp get intence pain in the stomach. It was quite fortunate that chili was quick to get into action and called for a taxi that would take me to a hospital, while there the pain was growing ever so intense I was screaming my lungs out.
The medics decided for me to spend a night at the hospital after my sister arrived. So I was put onto a bed, with lots of strong painkillers in me that I was dizzy.

After waking up on thursday, I woke up with the sounds of activities of nurses tending to patients, I was being tortured bu constant testing with needles sticking in mer and whatnot. But a doctor came with the dignoses that I was struck by pancreatitis caused by gallstones.
It was suggested that I would be put into operation, but I had to stay there for one more night just to be sure. During that, the stomach were making growling noises and quick paced pains that quickly vanished. I was also put under strict diet meaning I would eat at all, instead I had a tube with substance on my arms to keep me from dehydration.

On friday, the doctors were positive that I could go on due to my fast recovery, and that I was put on a waiting list for a future operation removing my gallbladder so that I wouldn't have to suffer from gallstone again.
After having real food, the chicken soup was actually quite good, I waited for my parents to pick me up, because they were in Germany while all this happened.

So now I am home since yesterday friday, having a good long sleep in my bed feeling better, but I should take it easy with eating...

But as to my reaction, well... I'm not really sure, I prefer to wait actual result than anything first.

For one, it seems like that Disney is trying to recieve more money via Marvel and their comics, but still I kinda hope that this may result in reboots in some Marvel franchises and actually introduce them to new readers and/or watchers (since it's stated that Disney will produce comic movies based on Marvel Universe). And hope fully this doesn't result in Civil Wars, Brand New Day or any other bullshit crossover events.

I mean, Disney did produce Gargoyles which is one of the most well developed Disney shows out there, so I say I keep a eye out for any positive changes.

What both ID4 and Matrix failed in, is that the fact Transformers 2 is about mindless hardcore action fun about huge robots kicking and tearing each other's asses (come to think it, it was quite brutal for a PG-13 movie, which makes it even more badass) and tiny chibi bots doing silly things.

Sure it was quite confusing with keeping a eye on which robot was which, but it actually did what the original series always did. Entertaining the kid within us. That's it. So this movie was not bad, it was quite awesome despite what other people say. They probably are the same dudes who praised Twilight (ugh, my balls hurt) so here's my proposal.

Go and watch this movie, you won't regret spending the money. Also buy the effing DVD of the first movie.

SIgning off

Usually I get those from time to time which and quite easy to ignore as long I have something warm ro smooth the pain. Only this the pain was too intence to ignore, and I couldn't sleep for the rest of the night.
Now fast forward about 12 hours, the stomach ache grows ever so intence that I just lay down on my bed sweating as hell, but in the end I just shouted that I needed a hospital.
So my parents took me to the nearest hospital where the nurses took some blood tests and soon enough the doctor gave me pain killers while explaining to me that I had gallstones that now decided to really attack my insides.
Luckily, the gallstone(s) wasn't that major anough for the doctors to decide a surgeon, but they needed me to give them updates in case I get a new attack.

So on sunday the stomach was fine, but I was hungry as hell mostly because I didn't eat anything the day before. But it felt nice to actually eat again, tough I was rather nervous so I had to eat smaller than I usually do.

Now today the stomach is fine, but I studied in the subject gallstone and ways to treat it and with some suggestions from friends and family, I came with two conclusions:
1) Loose weight. I need to walk more and exercise in order to loose weight.
2) Eat more healthly. I have to avoid fat food, sure I can eat meat and such tough not so often.
DEAD SPACE

I’m trying hard to resist saying it, but I might as well get it out of my system; in space, no one can hear you scream.

Well, ever since after I saw the ever so popular and awesome horror movie Alien when I was a kid, it’s not that hard to come up with the conclusion that I became a great fan of horror movies, especially the science fiction horror movies where a small group of people are being trapped in a claustrophobic environments and terrorized by a unknown horror.

I have seen a lot of horror movies with that theme, but only the locations differs whether it’s under or above the sea, the desert, the arctic and of course outer space, but in overall most of them are just cheeky, silly and unintentional comic. But that way, you can easily find those few but very shiny and beautiful gems that still survive the trials of time.

Same thing goes for horror games in my personal opinion. While some are still quite scary despite it predated graphics and whatnot, most games are placed into the same cheeky category. Like the first Resident Evil, back in 1996 the game was quiet scary and intense, but nowadays we mostly giggle at the ridiculous dialogue (Jill Sandwich), controls slow like a tank and so on. However ever since Resident Evil 4, the game series rebooted and expanded its huge franchise into epic proportions with old veteran fans praising its new game play and concept as well, making the series a new top notch in horror game industry.

Now I’m not sure how the future looks for the recently released horror game Dead Space, but seeing the hype and such, this one may have become the new next thing.

The hype and the marketing for this game have been quite amazing, but seeing that it was developed and published by Electronic Arts, it wouldn’t come as a surprise. But during its less than two years of developing, they had published a miniseries comic, a spinoff game and even an animated feature movie depicting the background story behind the events of Dead Space. One can only imagine the franchise when the sequel is coming up.

I was looking forward to this game, not only because it looked awesome and it was taken place in space which is my favourite location in a sci-fi horror story right next to underwater sea scenario, it was because that EA stated that their inspiration was Event Horizon, The Thing and of course Alien which are my favourite movies. And unlike Fable 2, Dead Space is not a guilty pleasure. Instead I got the evil giggles when I literally slaughter countless of mutated zombies with my remote controlled blade saw, and yet at the same time I get covered by cold sweat and nerves on the edge of breaking down when I find myself being cornered by the same amount of monsters and with only one or two rounds left before I run out or have to reload in a slow pace. Basically, Dead Space effing rocks.

Make no mistake, if Capcom would create Resident Evil 4 or maybe the fifth part and let it take place in space, Dead Space would be the closest thing they would get. Because basically Dead Space is pretty much as stated in the title of this journal Resident Evil 4 IN SPAAAACE (a little SpoonyOne homage there). And since I really loved RE4 and I’m sure as hell looking forward to the fifth part, I almost didn’t need to read the short tutorial on how the controls worked. There are so many things that are similar to RE4, and that’s a great thing. Hell, even EA stated that they looked at that game before doing DS.

So you play as Isaac Clark (Based on the names of two cool sci-fi novelists Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke, obviously), a space marine… err, I mean space engineer who is pretty much a silent faceless protagonist (except for the intro where you see the back of his head before he will be wearing a pretty cool designed helmet, but there is a unintentional glitch somewhere I noticed) who with two red shirts, one sexy broad, and a authorial black dude are on a routine mission in course for USG Ishimura, a huge space ship known in the DS universe as Planet Cracker that literally cracks planets open in order to suck up all their resources and ores for whatever sci-fi stuff they use it for.
Faster than you can say “Get on with it”, mutated monsters mortally gwomps the two red shirts and you are separated from the rest of crew, and leaving you with a small wielding tool against an army of alien monsters. I bet that Isaac is thinking that he should be taking that job as a janitor instead.
From here, the storyline is pretty much the same as one can expect in a standard horror story, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. In fact it’s very intense and you are pulled into finding out on what the eff happened on the space ghost ship. So while you are walking...

The difference is that Twilight is no fun to watch. It's so bad that you can't even enjoy at how bad it really is. You can bare to watch a bad movie, if it's bad in a GOOD way... But Twilight fails at every single aspect of even making a movie.
This movie is a shameful spot on all vampire movies in the history of movies. It has everything that a vampire movie should NOT have, and nothing that a vampire movie really has.

And don't get me started on the Twilight fangirls, but I do two things to say to you:

1: Have you even watched the movie? Or even read the books? I admit that I have never read the books and after watched the movie TWO times just to see how much of a abomination. But you clearly must have been on drugs or something because there is NO way that you were in your right mind to actually think that this was a (ugh) good movie. Have you even watched the movie BEYOND the Barbie dolls of actors and saw just how horrible it really is?

2: ...SUCK IT! Yeah, you heard me all you miserable fangirls, get down on your knees, open your mouths wide and SUCK MY BIG HAIRY SWEDISH DICK!! If that's the only way to keep your mouth shut, then so be it! Gawd, just shut up! SHUT UP!

EDIT 2: And now David Eddings has passed away...

...

...

...

...Right. I'll be over in the corner and weep.

Okay, so one can say alot of stuff about the quality of Edding's writing skills or whatever in his fantasy novels nowadays, but he did however got a whole generation of young readers a whole new fresh intrest in the fantasy genre and the actual enjoyment of reading a book in the 90's.

Eddings' epic fantasy series of The Belgariad and The Malloreon series were in fact a whole lot original in writing. The writing and dialogue had this dark sarcastic tone with alot brutal details on violence but also complex take on characters, politics and religions... All while being very easy to read. It's quite amazing when you think about it.

While I stopped reading Eddings' novels when I was about 17 or so which was quite natural because his novels did only appeal reader in younger age, but I still feel grateful that his books did get me into reading and actually enjoy it. While I don't read as passionate as I did back then, me like so many people still feel thankful that there was a fantasy novelist who did took us readers seriously, but decided to tell us a amazing story the way we could engage into.

So... what next? BRING IT ON!!!

Alright, so the Small Press Expo (SPX) is now sadly over.

Of all the seasons in all year, this ever so growing comic convention is to me the closest thing to the perfect family reunion. Every one was so happy to see new and old faces that talked with the artists by their booths and bought some of their amazing comics they worked hard with.

I was sharing booth with my co-workers ~Speedslide, ~tfels and Fredrik Jelcander at Svenska Superserier (Swedish SuperComics)and we actually managed to sell almost triple as many examples as last years, which only proves that our effort to make one of Swedens (if not THE ONLY) greatest superhero comic franchise ever has prospered.

Whenever I wasn't on booth duty, which was quite many times, I was on SHOPPING SPREE!
I ran around the entire convention, buying fanzines and whatnot like crazy despite my very strict budget (I'm very much broke right now) and met both old and new faces with superior artskill such as *chili19, ~Vixie87, ~styggelse, ~The-Starcow and ~Carromic.
Alright, so appearently I have decided against my better judgement to do another meme.
Well atleast this one is actually alot better than that weird meme when you crossed in all movies you have seen, and it would decide that you officially have no life. Which is rather offensive considering that 90% of the movies were like blockbuster movies, like Lord of The Rings and such. If it had been movies noone has ever heard of, like Bubba Hotep or stuff like that that MIGHT have been different, but really it's still a offensive joke to say that just because you like watching movies, doesn't mean that you don't have a life.

Well anyway enough of that, now we will see how much of a nerd I really am.

It's taken by ~Rimani Now let's see...

Anime/manga nerd

[x] You watch anime.
[x] You read manga.
[x] You buy/collect anime DVDs or manga volumes
[ ] You own some other form of anime/manga merchandise.
[X] You have referred to an anime character as 'hot' before. Well for some odd reason, I'm kinda embarressed by this fact)

ART NERD

[x] You like art.
[x] You actually consider yourself an artist.
[x] When using art supplies, the brand of them matters to you.
[x] You have a favorite brand. (Sometimes yeah)

Art nerd = 14/15 (Well better than nothing I guess XD )

MUSICAL NERD

[x] You play a musical instrument.
Hey everybody, guess who is back from his two weeks vacation in Thailand.

Well, I better start off by telling that I hate airplanes, and the flying itself. Sure, that doesn't come out as a big surprise since that almost everone hates flying by various reasons, most that I share like tight seats, crappy food, crying babies (I swear to gawd, the reason why parents take their infant children is a concept that will never get to me) and whatnot.

To me, the one major problem is flying is that I can't sleep during the flight. No matter what I do, I have to endure several hours of extreme agony awake. I can't read a good book or play a good portable game console, instead I have to sit there, my knees getting sore by some a-hole in front who has to lower his seat and don't get me started on actually trying to stand up because that's when the stewardesses must HAVE to pull those leathal metal boxes and/or offering us tea or coffee that tastes very bland and sewer like.

Well, I could go on about my hate on flight for hours, but I'm sure you rather want to know what I did in Thailand.

Well, after about twelve hours of flight which halfway we had to stop somewhere in Irac or something to refuel, my first impression was that Thailand was WARM!

Sure I expected it to be warm, but not like 30 degrees of celcius and thick moist in the air. It felt like one of my lungs got shot off, it was amazing.

So yeah, after about half hour in a pretty comfortable taxivan, we arrived in a very nice hotel close to the beach and the first I did... Was taking a bath in the nice ocean.

And... That's pretty much all I did in these two weeks in Thailand, bathing in the ocean and getting a tan. Sure, there was alot of things I could have done, but that was not my idea. I just wanted to bathe, get a tan and spend some nice time in the A/C cooled hotelrooms.

So yeah, I wish I could tell more, but if you have been in Thailand, you know what to expect there. If not, well... Let's just say that picking the most cheapest resturant means the best food. Ahh, yeah... the food. I usually have a grudge against thai food, but the real deal? Man, I was in heaven. The food was VERY good, but I think I miss the BBQ'd steak XD

So yeah, during these two weeks, I was staying at three different hotels, all very nice and close to the beach. I was snorkling, walking around, trying out new dish of thai food every day (I was surprised on how easy that was) and buying crap I don't need, like two bandanas I needed to protect my head from the sun when I was taking a bath.

So yeah, I just got back from my twelve hour flight of hell, got a couple of hours of sleep and now I'm back in full... In snow covered freezing Sweden.

Ffffffffffffffffffffffun...

Crazy in lack of better words.

Well, first off my sister has suddenly invited me to a trip to Thailand next week. And since it's rather freezing here in Sweden, being in Thailand in the next two weeks will be a blessing, unless I'll become the next victim in Hostle Part 3 or worse.
Still, this has become somewhat of a tradition that my sister usually pulls ever since she got her job that she takes a last minute ticket to a country during low seasons. In fact last year (or was it the year before) that we went to Egypt. I hope that we get to travel to New York or something next year.

Secondly, a collegue of mine recommended me to a dude named Robert Jonsson who runs his own D&D-esque rollplays that are mostly horror themed a la Condemned style. So now I am hired to do some illustrations for him. The pay is rather small, but atleast it's a paying job.
So I'm rather excited about the fact that I have finally a gig that appeals to me. And hopefully I will keep doing illustrations for Robert.

  FABLE 2:

Remember a certain video game for the Xbox and the PC called Fable?

I remember once a game that was under the working title Project Ego and under development by Big Blue Box, a satellite developer company of Lionhead Studios that is still owned by its creator Peter Molyneux (Don't ask me how that spells out loud), a overly eccentric and extremely enthusiastic video game designer/producer/publicist/whatever who always would state the awesomeness of their games that was under development such as Black and White and The Movies, but in the end tough while being adequate fun to play, the games would never meet up to the promises of the hypes.

Under the next four years of development from the year 2000 or nearby, Project Ego later would be titled Fable, the game became extremely overhyped due to Molyneux that stated the game would become "the greatest video game of all time" or something like that.

The game would feature a great deal of awesome such as aging, raising families and kids (you could marry several women AND men in the game) and, I'm not kidding, watching a tree growing during the time you play the game. But most importantly, your actions would affect the gaming world, whether it was good or evil.

But as a true gamer would expect, Fable did NOT meet up to the hype. Instead we got a below average and bland diet-coke version of Zelda, with somewhat below average and indecent game play but zero engagement to the basic and waaay too short "young-boy-looses-his-home-and-family-and-forced-to-become-a-hero-and-defeat-the-devil" storyline and completing quests given by a incompetent guild instead of doing them freely. The trees were pixlated as any other trees in a video game, and the whole choice of good and evil was a lot better performed in the Knights of the Old Republic series. Basically, this game was very awful and ugly designed.

So, after lots of apologies from Lionhead, especially from Molyneux to the public for the disappointments, one still would become even more sceptic when Fable 2 was to be announced. But unlike the previous game, there wasn't no real huge hype over the game due that they managed to seal the big mouth of Molyneux with duct tape, instead Lionhead focused on what few things made the first game enjoyable to play and make it better and improve other details while holding to their own limitations and not exceeding their promises.
Now, while I did own the first Fable for the old xbox, I have never completed it because I never liked it. But against my better judgement, my curiosity got the better of me and when the sequel did come out last week, I bought it along with another game which I will review later.

Now while Fable 2 does have some of the same flaws that made me hate the first game, there are many improvements and new stuff that so far makes, or rather forces me to enjoy the game in a guilty pleasure kind of way.

The first thing that you will notice when you start the game, is that it has a very ugly yet very nice game design. I mean, while the game does have a very beautiful design and world with great landscapes and awesome cities that has great inspiration of the 1600’s which I like, the ugly part is like in the first game the looks on the people in the game. For some reason Lionhead made the game designs to have a certain cartoony similar to the front covers of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novel series, and while I really do love the art work of the late Josh Kirby and it does look good on paper, the design in this game has this rather ugly feeling like a very tainted diamond. I know it doesn’t make any sense, but play any awful current-gen video game like Bullet Witch for example and see what I mean.

The game starts like in the prequel playing as a kid, only this time you can choose whether you want to play a boy or a girl which is an important feature in any RPGs. Then after a pretty cool computer generated intro that ends with an awkward chuckle from my throat, you are being introduced to your Playing Character and your generic older sister living as generic orphans in the generic poorer parts in a generic town.

I'm not going to give out any spoilers even tough there isn’t much to spoil, but if you know the rules of a generic fantasy story, you’ll figure it out. But basically, you are given the generic chance of having a generic better life, but a generic tragedy occurs and a generic blind woman saves you and raises you as a generic mysterious mentor to become a generic older version of your playing character and given the generic mission of vengeance.

Oh and there is this adorable dog that is your trusting follower. And some sweet ass-kicking on some chickens.

Unlike the previous game, the motivation is a lot better...

Well, hey it's been awhile, so I figured that I should give a little update.

Well, as you can see, I have started to cure my artist block, and starting next week, I'll be updating new arts every weekend which is more confortable that way when I have scanned in all pics during the week, and then post here in DA on weekends.

There are alot of reasons why I haven't been updating any pics for a long time, but I don't wanna go there, I have left that behind me but let's just say I was rather heartbroken and it was my fault. Oh well, you live to learn or something like that eh? ^^

Also, I have several new games I bought and will post a review on each also each weekend.

Oh, and one more thing. Back in august, I created a account on furraffinity.net [link] . Yeah, I haven't been doing any art there, but I'll get there and the reason why is that I'll be posting a little more exotic images, just for the sake of challenge and that I wanted to try out something different. Maybe even a erotic comic or two depending on how I feel like it.

So I am quite happy that I am cured and that I will be doing some artwork from here on ^^ Stayed tuned, won't ya?

Alright, despite this how weather we got here in Sweden... Even if ~ImABunny claims that it's cold here, but that's a whole other subject I'm not going into, I've decided to do a review on a movie that I'm quite sure noone would ever notice, unless someone mentioned it.

After learning from my older brother Xander that the zombie movie "Rec" (Short for Record you see in cameras and such) was actually the spanish original version from another zombie movie called "Quarantine" and after I saw that Rec was already avaiable on DVD (It came out back in -07 in Spain), I decided to rent it because most remakes are exactly the same in my opinion. Which is true because I've learned that the american version is a shot-for-shot remake of the original.

Now, after watching the movie Cloverfield that in my opinion sucks by lots of reason but mostly of the shaken camera shots that made me ill and dizzy and the bad design of the actualy monster, I was quite thrilled of this movie. This movie reminded me much more of Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield, but unlike those two movies, this one was rather very nicely done, no needless shaken angles or whatnot.

"Rec" follows a female TV reporter and her camera man (who's holding the camera we are watching from and we'll never see his actual face which is fun ^^) doing a simple report about life in one of Barcelona's fire stations, when they recieve a call from a apartment. And considering that this is a zombie movie, you just know how things gets effed up when two persons gets bitten rather brutally by a old crazy lady and the whole building is sealed off by the local militia.

Because the whole movie was done via one camera and focused from that point of view while a lot of stuff was going on in the process which means that while the camera is shut off, you won't know anything on what is going on until the camera is back online again, I was sucked in because I liked the suspence of not knowing not enough stuff. This is truely a awesome horror movie that has alot more scares than most horror movies this year, because there is NO music that ruins it for you, and the actors did a excellent job of keeping it real with the frightful events and such, it's uncanny.

SO this is truely a genuine jewel that deserves more viewers than the remake which I'm quite sure that it's gonna suck for lots no TONS of reasons. So if you see this movie, don't hestitate, just buy the movie and have a blast.

I have now over 10 000 pageviews?! This is truely amazing ^3^

WARNING!:
This following review is a very long one, so those with short attention span or not in the mood for reading long amateur video game reviews, are strongly advised---- ENJOY ^^

Alright, it's no really big secret that I love horror games, or any kind of horror themed media. Tough most horror games doesn't give me the scare like the games are claimed to do, they do however give me direction of emotions, like depression in Silent Hill or panic moments in Resident Evil: Nemesis (my favorite part in the RE series right next to RE4). The Suffering series is just filled with evil giggles from my part. But a very few games like Fatal Frame (or Project Zero depending on what country you live in) and Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, does give me the desired scares, and sadly while the latest addition of the Alone in the Dark does have several "Oh shit" moments combined with "Oh crap oh crap oh crap" sequences, it's not a pure horror game.

Now, the Alone in the Dark series especially the first debut from 1992, has a special place in my heart. While there were other horror themed games like Sweet Home and Clock Tower, AitD was the very first horror game with 3D characters in a prerendered background giving birth to a specific sub genre in action adventure game: Survival Horror. The game is still truely original and unique with the open ended gameplay that we don't really see in most survival horror games today that are mostly action based and focused on shooting many creatures as possible than actually surviving.
After two sequels that had mixed receptions, and a fourth game with the horrible subtitle 'New Nightmare' which was more of a blatant ripoff of Resident Evil and Silent Hill and had the worst parts of both games combined and a movie directed by Uwe Boll that had absolutly nothing to do with the original games than the title, one would be surprised when a new start in the series would come out this year.

And let's get to the point here; Alone in the Dark is not bad as those reviewers at IGN and Gamespot claims it to be. Sure the game does have its flaws, but there are alot of features and a gameplay that should be more praised and used in the future games to come. So, unlike most brainless gamers out there so buy games just because &#039rofessionals' says so, I bought the game just in spite and to give you a insight on how truely fun this game is.

Story: I don't really want to give out much spoilers of the storyline, but basically this game has more connection on the original trilogy and ignores 'New Nightmare' completely. It focuses this time again on Edward Carnby investigating the horrible secrets hidden within the seemingly peaceful Central Park in New York City. Yeah, I know that New York has been a victim of lot of things in movies, games and whatnot and since 9/11, you would think that the city would be left alone this time. But atleast the story in this game focusing mainly on the park which is pretty unusual.
But sadly while the story is pretty much very well written and it does makes sence in the end, it gets far fetched and has a lot of similiar themes you see in most horror based games and I played alot of them. Since it takes on Central Park, I had a different idea on how the story would take place considering the history and the bad things that has happened on the past. But I'm not complaining, because the game does have its fair trade of plot twists and development you want to see the climax which is quite very sad in a good way.

Gameplay and Control: Strangely, both the gameplay and the control has been scolded at by reviewers, but to me while the control does have its flaws, the errors I do in the game is not because of the controls or the gameplay, its because of me.
The gameplay can be played both by a third person perspective a la RE4 style and sometimes from a fixed camera angle and first person view which is used when using your firearms against your enemies or to have a better view on things. However I prefer third person when firing a weapon, but the developers knew that it may have been overused, so no realy complains there.
The way how you progress in the game is almost entirely open ended, like if you encounter a gang of enemies, you can either shoot them with your gun tough it only result in waste of bullets, make a molotov cocktail and burn them or even make a trail of gas to a car and light it up.
The puzzles are few and yet brilliant. You don't need to seach several rooms just to find a cert...

Now this is going to be a review on two games I recently bought: Call of Duty 4 and Battlefield Bad Company.

CALL OF DUTY 4: MODERN WARFARE
I have played the other Call of Duty games, and even tough WWII games is fun to play, the fourth part in the series is in my opinion the best game.
It was pretty obvious that they should make a game taking place in modern age and time, which gives you a idea that WWII concept is being overused.
My first impression was that the game was like playing a war movie directed by Ridley Scott or even Steven Spielberg, it was truely that awesome.
Like in the previous Call of Duty games, you play multiple characters, in this game you play as 'Soapy' Mactavish from SAS and Sergeant Jackson from the US marine. You play other characters as well, but one of them is just for dramatic effect, which is really cool and nicely done, and one of the major characters in a flashback.
The gameplay is very intense depending on your difficulty settings. Even tough the level designs are pretty much linear, they are pretty open enough for you to take several choices of directions. Like if you need to get to a building, you can actually either attack the enemies up front or on the sides giving them a surprise. The designs are incredibly rich and details and gives you the feeling of enviroment like you can actually feel the heat in the arabic villages you are in and such.
The game may be short, but it does give you lot of extra stuff afterwards, like Arcade Mode which pretty much lets you play each levels, only you must keeps scores arcade style. Not to mention multiplayer mode that gives you hours of fun to come.
FINAL SCORE: out of five

BATTLEFIELD: BAD COMPANY
Okay, I'm not really sure if this is true, but if people thinks of Sweden, they think Abba and Battlefield. I don't think I'll need to explain Battlefield considering that it is one of the most popular online FPS game series. But Bad Company however is the first game in the series to have a actual storyline and a amazing gameplay with a heavy unlinear level designs. But that does not mean that it does not have its flaws.
The storyline is pretty much what people don't really expect in the game series, it's heavily inspired by Kelly's Heroes and Three Kings (if you haven't seen these movies, then buy them, they are that great). It focuses on four soldiers in the unit known as Bad Company where soldiers are deemed expendable and sent in up front to deal with the worst kind of wet work and are expected to not live it trough. But when the group finds gold, they decide to go AWOL and search for the gold. The story and the dialogues are very funny written and given a certain surreal feeling in the cutscenes that makes you wanna play trough the game to see the next cutscenes.
The gameplay itself is what really stands out. The levels are designed in a way that you really play whatever the hell you want to play. You can go in a enemy camp from the back entry, or blast straight in with a tank, or even call in a airstrike to take a large number of enemies. And also like Red Faction if you ever play it you can destroy almost anything in the game. If there are enemies in a building, throw a grenade and create a hole which destroys the bad guys or makes it easier to kill them yourself. However this may be one of the minor flaws in the game, you'd think that after destroying a building with airstrike or a tank, the building would collapse but they don't. Also the A.I. is sometimes retarted, they need a few moments before they react and shoot at you and it happens when you are standing in front of them. Sometimes they have the ability see you from a too far distance, and kill you way too easy. However this is fixed with a ingenius feature; say that you died while taking out a enemy tank, you won't restart at a checkpoint and have to do all over again, you can restart at the checkpoint and walk by the same tank that you've destroyed which takes out one of the major frustrations when playing a FPS.
And also, I wish that since you are playing one of four characters, you would give each characters a special ability and to change between them for a certain strategic feeling. Like sergeant Redford could order air strike or such and making Sweetwater a sniper and kill the enemies at long distant and Haggard the pyromaniac a demoman and Preston whom you are playing the soldier type.
So while wit...

Alright I know that I just posted a journal moments ago, but I'd just thought that you needed some laughs, but something that you REALLY need to consider about:

Do you have a Zombie Plan?

Well, I'm quite that most of you already have one or several in backup, but are abit too ashamed to annouce it out loudly. But remember that those that don't have a zombie plan, are the ones who are being consumed by the walking dead.

But I think that some people who says that they have one, are the ones who simply lies because they don't want to be outcast, or simply a basic idea but haven't though it nearly trough. So to make sure that you have every steps covered, I'll present the important keys in developing a Zombie Plan:

Knowledge is the Key: Basically you need to remember the important rules that comes with a zombie movie. Take every clichés from every zombie movie you have seen, or have yet seen them, and make sure that you either avoid them, or take advantage from one. That way, you can make it trough the infections with minimal damages. But reality often surpass fiction, so take caution. Just because you know the rules, doesn't mean that new rules are added in the game.

Misery Loves Company: Consider this to be a loyality test for your friends and members of your family. When Z-Day comes, there is a time where their trust and loyality in you are put to the very edge. It can be difficult to choose a handful companions, but there's a system to this. Like almost all zombie movies, there is always ALWAYS a dick head, or bitch, who will only screw things up and thus ruining not just one, but several of your backup plans, sp be careful no matter what. This MAY fair sound unfair, but if you love and respect those close to your heart, you must expect them to trust in you. Friends with special skills are a bonus, like electronics, mechanics or even firearms and closecombats and such. Also, if you have a girlfriend or a boyfriend or someone you want to have a relationship with, do NOT attempt to be a Hercules just to impress them, their safety is more important. Unless of course he/she turns out to be one of the screwups...

Locations Locations Locations: Even tough your home is some place familiar, but when the zombies breaks trough, it's amazing how you realize at the final breath that your own home would be the obstacle of your escape. So you need a safe place. There are several places of free choice to consider a shelter from the invading zombies, but considering you have several people who will need food and supplies like medications, you need to find a place where you can store a huge supply of food, weapons and such, and where there's more exits for you then entries that your have barricaded from the zombies.
A shopping mall is both a top choice, AND a inevitable deadend for a safe house. Even tough it got space, enough food to last months if stored proberly and entertainment and access to anyone survivor outside, zombies will surrender the building making it impossible for a escape unless by a helicopter. Also, there's a highly likey scenario that the zombies may break trough the barricades one way or another. Also human raiders may screw up and break down your defense, so make sure you have several idealistic locations where it's high, safe and easy to barricade.

Mortal Kombat: When dealing with zombies, they almost always attack in group, there is no way but to take them down. There are several important types of weapons you can use. Two of them are are firearms, a handgun and a rifle or a shutgun. A handgun, a Beretta or a Glock is recommendable, is for the more accurate shots while a shutgun is for multiple targets. But the third and most importantly key in zombie combat, is to think medival. Blunt hard objects such as baseball bats, swords and knives (Tough this is just for extreme measures), to name a few but when giving it a quick use of your imagination, anything goes, as long as it's hard and easy to use.
Explosives is a good way to clear out zombies, as long you are not within the blastradius. Molotov cocktails are extreamly usable, but also extreamly dangerous, but it is a effective way to make sure that zombies stays dead... As long you can stand the smell.
If you are a boy/girlscout or went trough basic training in enviromental survival, you can build traps easily like a piano running down a stair over zombies. Think Home ALone, only more lethal.

Zombies: ...Do I need to say more?
Well, maybe that since we don't really know what kind of zombies we are going to deal with, one can't be too careful. But make no mistake, zombies have one goal only, to eat brains and your flesh (the reason why is debatable, but it's likely that adrenaline and other chemicals in our brains smoothen the zombies while they eat your flesh because the basic need to feed).
So yeah, earlier this week (Monday), I bought Half-Life: Orange Box for the X360 and to tell you the truth; I have a little bit of regret of actually buying it.

Okay, for those who don't what it is, do a wikipedia on it, but basically there's five games in one CD: First there's the Half-Life series, Half-Life 2 and Episodes 1 and two, which I hardly need to explain.
But there are two completly new games that stands out to be the main reasons that you would actually bother to buy the whole package; Team Fortress 2 and Portal.

Now Portal is a awesome game and involves a quite ingenious gameplay that unfortunately is too short (I completed the game in about two three hours in the first round), but since it was a experimental game based on a old concept named Narbacular Drop developed by a group of students that got hired by Valve Corperation (The makers of Half-Life) to make Portal, it is stated that they WILL make a sequel that's longer and maybe some more ingenious puzzles. Besides it's not like you leave the game unsatisfied, so this is one game I will enjoy replaying.

Team Fortress 2... Well, even tough the game does look awesome, it would be better if I had internet connection to the X360, or atleast know some people who has a Xbox and the game so that we could have a LAN-party or something... But I have tested the game, by playing by myself in a hosted offline game, and I would that my favorite is Pyro, mostly because his taunts are muffled by his gasmask and it reminds of my another favorite character Kenny from South Park ^^

Alright, now over to the Half-Life games... Even tough I like the game, I find it annoying about the episodes. I have almost completed Episode One which to my impression is alot shorter than Portal, and soon enough to start Episode Two. Now, I don't know about you, but this whole episodic deal is a utter bull-crap. cause when I'm done with the second episode, I have to wait for god knows knows how long so that I can finally defeat the Combine and get it on with Alyx (Yes, I have a bit of crush on her, so what?).

And another thing is that technically it's five games in the box, I have about including the ones I have bought earlier, I have now about 9 games in the X60. Right now I have enough space in the memory core to have like one more game, but I can atleast sacrifies some of the games I have like Dead Rising (The game sucks anyways), Lost Planet and Gears of War. I leave Mass Effect alone because for the wait of the sequel.

But yeah, I should have waited until the prize went down on a sale, or atleast Episode Three came out, but I seriously doubt it will be THIS year... Gawd, I feel like the time when I saw the cliffhangers on Matrix 2 and Pirates of the Carribean 2...

I DEMAND EPISODE THREE!!

Okay, I thought that I was going to end the week with a new rant journal. Can I hear a "whoop whoop"?

Okay, so I was browsing trough Youtube yesterday, when I found this clip from Fox News.

[link]KzF173GqTU

Now I dodn't know if any of you who watch me, have Fox News or even see that show (I say show, cause it's everything else but a actual newschannel), but I'm quite glad that Sweden don't have that shit.

Anyway, basically the clip was about a debate on Mass Effect for the X360 and the sex scenes and I couldn't help but to laugh at how one sided the whole debate was, it was three or four girls (who clearly never played the game but like saw the screenshots of that specific scene) against one dude who did his best effort to actually point out the stupidty of the whole thing.
Now the way this debate were handled, it was almost like that scene from the game (Which is only about 30 seconds long and had only a couple of buttshots), it was almost like it was a full fledged interactive porno or something.

Okay, let's go over the facts.
In Mass Effect, there are two "sex" scenes in the game. The first one is quite subtle in a Disney movie fashion and had only bare shoulders indicating that the couple were in the nude, they lean in and a sequence with a hand a la Titanic are shown.
Any nudies here?... Let me give you a hint: NO

Now over to the next one... Well, I'd better show the clip to you, and it's not like a major spoiler or anything unless you live under a rock...

[link]vj6D3HnN_s&feature=related

Now honestly, I would say that this one is a bit more daring than the first one, seriously, isn't this what we have seen in countless of movies and comics? I mean, sure there was a couple of buttshots and some "closecalls" of actually having a full monty, but it's overdrama they pulled in Fox New, kinda like the Crying Kid (Chris Croker).

I mean, I can actually name one game that was alot more graphic than this one, and that my friends, is Fahrenheit (or Indigo Prophecy) for the old Xbox. Not only was there full nudity in the game, but you could actually control the actual rythme of the action (!!).

So yeah, needless to say, it's stuff like this that leaves me kinda stumped when a news channel tries to black lable a great game, instead of doing things that really matters, something like... Ohhh, I dunno...

Well, anything that's more important in the world than to bash a great videogame that has nothing to entertain people, geez!...

Well that's all for now, remember to post those birthday pics to me on Feb 11th!!

Okay, yeah so, this entry is going to be a hate rant, and it will be focused on the one TV-show that have successfully managed to grind my ball and played on my nerves like a retarded kid from elementary school playing on a violin for the first time:

LOST

Lost... Gawd, I can't really say much about that show, except how much I fucking HATE IT!
The reason why I'm doing a journal now, is that just recently I saw the first screenshots from the official game version of that show that will be titled Lost: Via Domus. [link]

Sure, it has been known that they would make a game out of that show in a couple of years now, but I don't really see why they would make a videogame of a show with a storyline that has done nothing else but frustrate me to the end with the constant confusing and brain raping stuff that has been going on in the past, what two three seasons now.
Okay, I get the concept and it is a pretty good concept, a group of survivors are stranded on a mysterious island where a bunch of fucked up stuff is stored up to like go "BOO!" or "HEY, I am a T-Rex and I have come to scare the diarrhea outta you and then vanish and not to come back for several episodes but the viewers are not going to see me cause I got a camera stucked up in my nosedrills!" That's sone pretty good and scary shit, but why oh why, can't we just figure out what the fuck is going on??

You know, there's one thing about having mysterious going on, like that weird black mist, or that weird machine (another thing you are not allowed to see, but you hear some weirdass machine noices) that can tear down sections of the jungle, but to constantly confuse you with new events and questions and keeps added and added and you leave only confused like a two year in a game of chess against god, it's so annoying and repetable.

You know, I actually though that the first season was going to be like that cause you wanna to get to know the characters and you get to see at first hand they might be up against, cause then in the second season shit would happen cause I would imagine that some major scary Lovecraft shit would happen, but instead... I get more questions added to those I haven't any answers from the start! What the fuck!!

But the real reason why I stopped watch that show was in, I believe it was in the second season, where my favorite character Hurley was getting a girlfriend, and I was like "Huh, you know, this show may be annoying, but atleast I get to see some genuine sweet love story between two people instead of that constant back-and-forward lovetriangle between those three completley clichéed characters the have been pulling around my ass."
And you know, I was quite thrilled about it, I mean here a fat guy gets hooked up with a sweet beautiful girl who just likes him for who he is. Okay I would be more thrilled about if I was in his shoes, cause I would build a raft or a boat or something to get me of the island with her and fucking marry her, cause what would happen later, would cause me go berserk and kill every last thing on the damn island.

Hurley's girl gets killed.

I mean, I was like screaming of rage when I saw that bullet go right trough the poor girl's heart and I felt pretty much the same pain she must have felt when she was going to die. I mean, sure they could easily kill off that Michelle Rodriguez bitch cause it would like one less emo git to give a shit about, but to kill Hurley's girlfriend!!?
What the hell does that really say about that? That fat guys are not allowed to date beautiful ladies? And worst of all she was killed by a fucking loser who kept whining about his son, and he GETS AWAY WITH IT. What the fuck?
So, needless to say, that was the last straw, like Angry Nintendo Nerd would say, I would rather drink a bucket filled with women menstruation blood than watch that show ever again.
Okay, so I did watch the show from time to time, cause I realized taht I really didn't miss anything. Like I would miss atleast four episodes, and they would be still at the same situation as they were from where I left off. What the shit!...

So yeah, alright most people might get the general idea about what's going on with the show, but atleast I figured out what the hell was going in Twin Peaks, and that was one fucked show! So whenever I think about Lost, I only get the impression that even the creators of the show doesn't have a clue what they are writing about, it's like they are actually hiring monkeys with ADD to write the scripts and they print it to the actors that just go "WTF" but they just go with because they need the money and I don't think I need to tell you what I think what the actors had to do to get their part of the show...

So back to the videogame... Now is it just me, but wh...

Mass Effect is quite truley a awesome game, tough it's kinda sad that I don't have internet connection on my 360, so I can download the extra stuff and those episodics quests and such. I guess I have to suffice for the upcoming books, and the comics (Okay that is just a rumor, but still...).
I have been tempted to play all classes fully to level 60 (that's the top level you get in the game, you prolly get more levels in the next game), but I guess I'll settle with my sexy lesbian Vanguard/Warhero/Spacer Commander Shepard (yes, I always go for the Lesbian Blue Alien Sex Scene XP).

Gears of War is quite a rush, but it's quite hard, so I haven't replayed it much, but I still enjoy the moments I have.

I have also seen Shrek 3, Transformers and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer on DVD, which only the first two was pretty good, while FF2 was just... ugh. I haven't seen the Grindhouse movies, Planet Terror and Death Proof, which is kinda sad, but I will watch those movies soon enough.

Well, I hope that this week will get any better... Wish me luck

Oh yeaaaaah... This is GREAT way to start a new year, with a cold and finish it with a touch of pneumonia.
And not just a cold, no I'm talking about the kind whre it leaves you with a extreme pain in your sinus, running nose that itches on a edge on being pulled by a rusty hook, and constantly on the way to sneeze but when you are just about to explode, nothing happens and you are left with a tension.

And let's not forget to mention that since I got it from my mom who has been coughing like a mother effer (yes pun intented), she visited a doctor that suspect that she might have a small case of pneumonia, and guess who might recieve it as soon she gets better?

Yes, yours truely! Pat yourself in the back and have a cigar that explodes your faces out.

So yeah, here I am, stomach filled with drugs and medicines with names that you are quite certain that they named up just to annoy the hell outta people, hoping that I may be better later this week, WITHOUT the pneumonia, thank you VERY MUCH, MOM!

Oh well, at least I bought Mass Effect and Gears of War for the Xbox360, which are two awesome games.

This was stolen from =FoxNede since I thought it would be sweet to do a wishing list for xmas this year on DA. And you don't have to do, I'd felt like doing a wishing list which I haven't been doing in two years now...

STEP ONE:
- Make a journal entry on your DA account. The entry should contain your listof 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from little to big.

STEP TWO:
-Browse your friends' and that who you watch’s lists.

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true! Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have something you don't use that another wants, or perhaps the spare funds on hand, to give. The point of this isn't to put people out, or go broke or who gets the most wishes fulfilled, is a chance to grant some one's a wish out of the goodness of your heart, because you have something to spare. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish and it might come true. Give and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

STEP THREE:
-Include your contact info (note for shipping, address) whatever/however you are comfortable with, just in case some one does have a physical object from your wishlist they wish to send you.

1)	For *Furiikuyasha to come visit me during the holidays, or for me to come visit her, which ever comes first. If everyone who watch me (or her for that matter) would donate a certain amount money each, we could afford a ticket, but I doubt since those costs a fortune, and besides getting a ticket on the holidays is most likely nearly impossible. Unless of course, we could afford a ticket AFTER the holidays might be possible, since my birthday is in February.

2)	DevArt subscription would be nice, doesn’t matter if it’s just a month or a year, just that I can have a little more fun…

3)	Giftarts. It’s always nice when I see art from other people. But mostly I wanna see myself as anthro cat as I usually draw myself hanging out with you peeps.

4)	DVD Collection of Pirates of the Caribbean, Samurai Champloo, or Samurai 7

5)	World of Warcraft. SO I can play with Furii

6)	Artbooks on Dragon Quest VIII, Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings,
Bioshock. Narnia and Mass Effect

7)	A photo of you watchers with your favourite cake

8)	Some Clive Barker novels, you can do the pick ^^

9)	Some art with some nice girls posing X3

10)	COOKIE!!

AAaaaand that’s pretty much it…. Now GET TO IT!!!

Well, this is getting to be one of those tiresome rants...

Today was supposed to cleaning, fridays is where I try to clean up the house that my parents has cause havok on every week, but due to this whole freezing Lovecraftian weather completed with thick fog, dead trees and the general dark mood, I haven't been in that cheerful mood (yeah right) to do any cleaning today. Sure, I did some vaccuming just to get rid of the worst, but other than that...

And also. I have been looking at all my comics that should have been done ages ago, like the Kim Possible/Ghost Rider comic, the last DarkKingdom including a entry comic for ~LawrenceRoyBloodwing, and a Endzone Specator for =Endling 's Endzone contest featuring a interview with a artist who lost her round, the HEroes vs. Zombies comic, my web comic project that has come and gone... Not to mention my duel entry with ~Mul that is due on December 14th and some other ideas for comics that keeps boiling my poor head, it's rather frustrating that I still haven't gotten my thumb outta my ass and done something about it.

But also, lately, I'm beginning to fear that something is happening with my passion with actually drawing. Either it's a art puberty where my style is changing, or my passion of actually creating art is loosing its touch, and that kinda freaks me out. Am I really loosing it, one of the few things in my life I truly enjoy? I hope not, but that means if it is a art puberty, I better get right on to it.

Right now, I could use some comfort... *Furiikuyasha I really need you...

Also, I have been really tempted to buy Assasins Creed and Mass Effect for the Xbox360, even though I should wait until after christmas. The reason why that I have sold my old Xbox, and in progress of selling all my 20 games (Since I can't play them on the X360, unless you download stuff, but,,, Yeah), and that I'll be given money for Xmas gift by my relatives.

Another week has come to pass, and new one has begun.

...And nothing really new to report here, except my impression of this whole new category system deviantArt has put up, and that kinda left me alittle confused.

I haven't really looked into it up close, but I can say that it feels kinda idiotic that you can't really jump to any pages in a person's gallery, and you get to sort out and choose which category... Man, just thinking about it makes my head spin in a funny way. Not taht I mind, it's just that whenever I try to get used to the whole system, Deviant start to change and I'm like a three year old watching a movie by David Lynch or something...

Anyway, I'm eating while waiting for Furii to send a reply to me. She's so sweet and fun that I really wish that I had some money so that I could take the next flight to the States and surprise her IRL. That would be fun, me sneaking into her room and then give her a major glomping. Sure, there would be some major screaming, tasing and then maybe some pepper spraying, but then afterwards there would be great deal of sweetness... Man, I really need to get a job soon... Or win the lottery, whichever comes first. Eitherway, it's days like this I really want to be close to her and not being stuck here on the other side of the globe...

Next month it will be Xmas soon, and already my grandmother starts to annoy my mom about the dinner, and how many will come and such. And we have been having that conversation every year now, that only a handful of the closest family members, with a limited supply of food, and not much decorating, just a simple christmas tree and stuff like that. But still, that doesn't stop grandma to stop worrying even tough it's not her dinner, but I guess that my mom will become like that when she grows older.

And now.... NATURE CALLS! (Need to go to the john) Later!

Ahhhhhh....! Sweet relief!

So yeah, a new week has started... Whoop-dee-doo...

But I had a nice weekend, my sister came over and we rented both Spiderman 3 and Ghost Rider, I only rented GR mostly because I wanted to make sure that I wouldn't the same mistakes the movie did, when I get back to my Kim Possible/Ghost Rider fancomic...Eventually.
Spiderman was epic as usual, though Peter Parker was too much of a stereotypical raged emo gothic guy in this one, but both Venom and Sandman took the movie by storm, and Green Goblin should be named the Green Surfer or something.

Also, I have sold my old Xbox yesterday, the same day I posted it on internet, which resulted on a record list of emails and phonecalls on my cell phone. BUt then again, I did sell it for a low price, plus that the buyers could get to choose four of my 24 original games for free. It's a bargain, but now I have to sell my other Xbox games, which most likey will not be easy.

So, right now, I'm enjoying my cup of hot cocao, if only I had marshmallows, and watching a interview with the infamous director Uwe Boll on Gametrailer and I'm having a blast.

Hmm... Maybe I should work on my comics and drawings... Nah, maybe after I am done with the interview film, checking my emails, checking for new updates for the upcoming Mass Effect, oh and I have to check---

...it makes me sick to the very core of my soul.

I want to shed a tear to the eight unfortunate and innocent souls that was wasted at the Jokela High School by a twisted and evil indivitual whose simple mind was set to "rid the world of the weak and more fitting for the strongest".

But to be honest, to be hearing that Death himself roams freely in a safe place such as a public and that noone didn't seem to take notice that the killer did made a home made video on Youtube predicting the outcome, and even expressing his hatred for humanity and showed a great intrest for "Natural Selection", makes me loose a piece of faith of humanity.

Is this where it all comes to?

What I really want to know, is what reallty went on in the guy's head when he preformed his horrible deed. Maybe I am too naive, but I wanna know if he did feel any remorse when he realized that he went down a path of no return. It's one thing to plan it, and a whole other thing to actually do it.

But then again, maybe I really don't wanna know. Maybe what really went on, was the concept of true evil. To do such a thing, it was never curiosity. It was evil, pure and simple. And he planned it all, blaming noone but himself for even considering it.

I want to shed a tear, but I wonder if it is the tear of sadness for the loved ones who won't be seeing their sons and daughters and wife ever again, or it is the tear of anger for the people who could do something to prevent this ever happen, or is it a tear of lost...

Eitherway... I really am sick to the core of my soul...

Even tough nothing much has happen recently, I felt somewhat obligated that I should let you who watch me that I still have a pulse... Barely

But like I said, nothing really much happened last week, the weekend, or the beginning of this week. But I did however borrow a PS2 from a friend of my brother Xander, and he had Dragon Quest VIII and well...

I actually managed to finish the entire game twice just recently because there were two different endings. No, not a bad and good ending, more like a good when you finish it the first time and a gooder(?) ending if you replayed the entire game from the start.
The game was actually pretty good and funny and mostly charming, tough I grew rather frustrated by the Random Encounters, and the fact that the Hero you are playing is pretty much the only thing you can say, is Yes or No.

Man, I have been playing Jade Empire one too many times.

Still, I enjoyed mostly the british voice actors in the game, especially whenever two of my favorite characters Yangus and King Trode (Yoda's younger, english and snobish cousin) pull their biggering against each other.

I really love it when fictitional characters does that do me, entertaining in a way in order to care more about them. I haven't felt this way ever since Beyond Good and Evil.

Also, before that, I got a Gamecube (Traitor, I know T3T), just because the owner had both Zelda Twilight Princess and Skies of Arcadia Legends and some other games I didn't really care about. Both games were awesome, and Skies was alot better than the original version on the Sega Dreamcast.

YOu know, to think of it, I haven been playing more on other consoles than my Xbox360. What gives?
Well, mostly because I have completed Lost Planet and grew pretty tired of shooting bugs, and Dead Rising? Well, let's just say that it wasn't exactly the ideal relationship I imagined it to be.
Sure the game is alot of fun when it comes to smashing zombies with a lot of stuff you can find, but I only wish that Capcom made the game... Not the way the game is now, with the stupid storyline, annoying quest system and the lousy AI from the people you are supposed to save but in the end, you just really want them to be eaten by the zombies.
But I might give the game a second chance later today.

Eitherway, I hope that I can get that job I have applying for, so I can buy my some stuff with my own well earned money, but knowing my luck, I only ending seraching my ass off for a new job, which is quite difficult considering my lack of eduacation. Maybe I should open a account on Paypal and take commision.

Well, I should get back to drawing, I have some stuff I have to be done with withing the week. I'll get back to you later...

Before I get down to business, I would like to say that I was once a huge fan of the game series Tomb Raider, well the first game anyways, I didn’t like the feeling that they were making sequels just to squeeze in more money, which was confirmed since the game’s original creator Toby Gard left the company Core Design because they would only use Lara Croft’s sexual appeal as a market and not exploring more into the character as he originally intended.

In fact, during the aftermath of the first game, Lara Croft did become an overly used victim in a series of pornographic parodies in fan fictions, porno movies and/or comics that would bear an extreme clear resemblance of the original character; some were directly to the point. Not to mention the infamous patch that would remove Croft’s clothes and would appear naked.

So after ten years, with ten games (Only two of the latest became appealing to me because Toby Gard got back as a lead director of the games), comics, novels and two god awful movies featuring Angelina Jolie that would only appear as the typical sexual appeal of the video game character, Tomb Raider is pretty much a sweet game that I always can come back to whenever I feel nostalgic.

And now to the point, since 2007 was the ten year anniversary of Tomb Raider, not only did they make a remake of the original game (Which was very nicely done to my big surprise), but they decided that they would create a certain publicity campaign that would result in a series of animated shorts called Tomb Raider: Re\Visioned.

Excerpt from Wikipedia
Re\Visioned: Tomb Raider Animated Series is a ten part animated series based on the series. It began airing on the online video game service GameTap. The series is comprised of various animation and comic book talent's renditions of Lara Croft, presented in the form of animated short films.
Even though the styles of the episodes vary, the voice actress for Lara Croft, Minnie Driver, remains constant throughout the series. The main criticism that the series has received are that the varying animation styles are somewhat confusing, and that the storylines of the episodes tend to be rather thin.
Intrigued, I have decided to watch the ten episodes, except the last one, since it’s not done yet and to put in a short review on each episode.

Keys to the Kingdom
This is pretty much one of my favourites, since not only did it expend to a three-part miniseries, but it was animated and directed by Peter Chung, the creator of the cultural animated series Æon Flux and his segment Matriculated in The Animatrix franchise.
The story goes that after an archaeologist is murdered just as he claims to have discovered a way to bring the dead back to life, Lara Croft is mixed in a epic conspiracy that does not only goes between the religions in Earth, but also the gods from the same religions themselves.
Needless to say, I quite enjoyed this one a lot, even tough the story tended to get to a limit where the story would leave you confused, but Peter Chung is mostly known to do that, and yet leave you satisfied because he leave the ending a open mind for the viewers. I mean look at Aeon Flux and see what I mean.
But to be honest, this wasn’t exactly one of Peter Chung’s best works, even tough the animation was perfect as always, I get the feeling that he went over his head working with this one. Then again, that’s how I feel whenever I watch Aeon Flux, so I shouldn’t complain and enjoy what he did instead.
Ratings: 7 out of 10

Revenge of the Aztec Mummy
I would like to think that whoever writes a comic and whoever illustrates it, the results of the collaboration would be great. When I look at Alan Moore’s comics and the artists who draws them for a example, I don’t think it would make a difference if the artists were switched places, the comics would still be great.
But of course there are some examples that clearly don’t fit in, and this episode is one of them.
Written by Brian Pulido (Writer of Lady Death) and designed by David Álvares (the designer of cartoon series Animaniacs), Lara Croft stumbles upon the resurrection of Moctuzema, an Aztec mummy cause by a rival archaeologist.
Well, after watching this episode, I would agree with Croft when she gives out her line “This is completely undignified.” I immediately figured a better script where I would keep the original idea, but removing the comedy entirely and put in more horror themes into it because these types of script doesn’t fit with Tomb Raider.
The designs were really good and I would keep it that way, but I wouldn’t made in flash and tween it so much since Álvares’ designs is more fitting in the more traditional frame by frame animation like in Animaniacs. So I would really to see this as a more mat...

Well… It’s been quite a while since I have been updating any journal or art here. Well, other than I was having a very long emo period. You know the type: “Why am I here, why can’t I find love, a job”… And all that jazz. So I wasn’t much in a mood for anything that had to do with drawing or comic or anything.

Needless to say, I wasn’t going to let it out in an emo filled journal like I did the first year. So instead, I was letting it all out in ordinary session by going out more and enjoy what I had instead, which was a mother who loves me very much, a step dad who respects me, two siblings who enjoys my company, a niece who wants to play with me and gives me a huge smile every time I give her some treat… And 24 people who watch me and appriciate my art.

And of course, a very special lady friend, who even tough she lives on the opposite of the planet likes me very much for who I am. Furii, I thank you for being there in spirit and mind. I’ll always be your sweet little kitty

Oh, and to really make sure that this week is the start of a little bit difference, I have in this weekend, gotten myself a very nice haircut!

That’s right! No more pony tail, no more washing my hair several times, and waiting for the hair to dry. And besides, I look mighty handsome in short hair. A lot better than I imagined.

The strangest thing however, is that since I have been having long hair in 18 years and now that it's short, it feels still as if I still have long hair…! Hmm, phantom hair? I wonder… And I feel a constant draft around my neck all the time.

Anyway, it feels great to have short hair after so long, no regrets whatsoever, in fact I should have gotten a hair cut years ago…!

-----------------------------------------------

Oh, yeah, I also got tagged by *DarkPredatorPrincess

1. Choose a few of your own characters and a time period.

2. Make your characters and yourself answer the following questions.

3. Then tag however many people you feel like tagging.

Oh great… I don’t have much OC’s to use really… But I guess I could use the cast from my up coming webcomic Man Overboard; namely Marlon, Lewis, Lyle, Mei Ling, Tilde, Mila, Max and Phantom. Maybe I should do a group art of these guys too, I’ll do it later, but for now…!

1.) How old are you?
Marlon: I’m 24 and still going strong
Lewis: I’m 21
Mei Ling: Celebrate for I am 19 years old!
Tilde (Blushes):8… (giggles)
Max: I’m 20, tough I must say that I am reluctant to tell you thatÂ
Phantom: Oh, a lady doesn’t reveal her age… You should know that
Marlon: She’s 28.
Phantom: Heeeey…!
Mila: I’m 22Â
Lyle: …Ermmm… I dunno
Lewis I think no one doesÂ

2.) How many siblings do you have?
Marlon: None of us have any siblings by bloodÂ
Mei Ling: But we consider us selves as siblings.
Marlon: Yeah, annoyance and all…!

3.) What is your favorite color?
Marlon: I kinda like blue stuff, so yeahÂ
Lyle: I like red and yellow.
Mei Ling: My favourite would be… red.
Tilde: I dunnoÂ
Max: I don’t really care about colors… But if you must… Auburn.
Phantom: Blood red… Oh yes… I like blood… (Grins and shows her fangs)
Mila: I kinda like shiny colors, like yellow and stuff like thatÂ
Lyle: OH! Oh! Oh! The same color as oil!

4.) What color are your eyes?
Marlon: Greyblue… I think
Lewis: Ermmm… Blue? I dunnoÂ
Mei Ling: Yellow (She’s a anthro cat)
Tilde: green!
Max: Black… There, satisfied?
Phantom: Emerald redÂ
Mila: Brownish blackish…
Lyle: Errmmm… Black?

5.) What is your favorite holiday?
Marlon: Hmmm… Christmas… A lot of gifts for me only!
Lewis: I really love Easter, to look for candy!
Mei Ling: Hmmm… I kinda like them all
Tilde: My birthday… Too bad it’s only once a year. ^^
Max: Holidays… Humbug!
Phantom: Halloween! To get treats and smash their houses with eggs and you get away with it!
Mila: I kinda like Christmas… Since it’s so nice with...

Sure I could have done this when I reached my two years anniversary, but hey, I was in the mood right now.
4,461 pageviews total and his 83 deviations were viewed 5,634 times. He watches 65 people, while 24 people watch him.

It may not sound as a big deal, but the fact that 24 people actually bothered to put me on their lists, is kind of a big deal to me.

I mean, I am not that great of an artist really, at least that how I feel about my stuff most of the time. The reason I watch 65 deviants, is the fact they are such artists and/or has the potential to become greater than they already are. So I guess that all 24 people
So this list features all you guys that actually like my stuff enough to put me on your watch list. I’m gonna write a short description on my feelings on your stuff, and then if you like write a comment as to why you decided to watch me.
Bear in mind that this is not, I repeat, not a tag thingie, just a fun thing and a tribute to all you guys that watch me. I love you guys a lot!

I'll bring the latest news about my progress in the contest...

I won the third round in DARK KINGDOM TOURNAMENT held by ~LawrenceRoyBloodwing

So now my next opponent in the fourth round is now ~hyperionwitch and her OC Josephine [link] .
This might prove to be one of my toughest rounds yet, but as usual I'm looking forward how she will draw my character.

I was thinking about joining another OC contest hosted by =BlackLillian , which was more like a "Survivor" type of contest. But since I have so much to work on already as it is, with my other projects and such, I've decided not to join. Maybe next year... Yeah...

--------------------

You know, speaking of contests, lately I have this idea for my own tournament.

I have been thinking about hosting it next summer, but I thought I should mention the idea now, in case that someone might wanna help me develop this.

Anyway, the idea of this tournament is going to be horror themed and will be called...

REALMS OF THE TORMENTED

Basically, the tournament is set in a huge haunted manor completed with a background story inspired by my favorite horror writers such as Cliver Barker, Stephen King, HP Lovecraft, Allan Edgar Poe and a couple of more.

The tournament itself will work as a basic tournament, a small group of chosen artists who have auditioned, will have their own character facing their opponent's character in battle -only this one will have a storyline that will affect the "players" more or less.

So I have a few ideas for a storyline, but I might need some help both hosting the contest and writing a storyline that will interact with the players in this tournament...

I might start a chat room as soon I figure out how they work, but since we have up to next year, there is no pressure, just a couple of comments if this is a good or a bad idea.
