Oh, where to begin. I absolutely adore this romantic-thriller and have seen it twice (take that, "18A"). A Tim Burton and Johnny Depp combo at its best.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is about a barber whose perfect life has been taken away by a man called Judge Turpin. In the beginning of the movie Sweeney Todd (Johnny Depp) is coming back from 15 years in prison (wrongly imprisoned by Judge Turpin).

Sweeney's all for vengeance and decides to get even with society by taking up his former profession as a barber-- what he was before he was sent to prison. Of course he's not at all an ordinary barber; he slits his customer's throats and with the help of baker Mrs. Lovett (Helena Bonham Carter - perfect, by the way), the victims end up as delicious meat pies for sale, cranking up the success of Mrs. Lovett's pie shop. Now there's plenty of gore shown, but it's more of an effect than realism-- bright red and runny.

The plot on its own is a horror classic- which I should mention, the movie would not be classified as 'horror'. It twists the values of revenge and morals with the sickeningly intriguing notion of using ourselves, humans, for meat. That whole cannibal thing going on there was what got me more than the visually-shown throat slitting and gore fountain. Detail set aside, the main motive for the story is definitely revenge. The whole story is pretty much a bloody chase for vengeance. Yeah. All the good stuff.

Now the fact that Sweeney Todd is a MUSICAL is just the icing on the cake, in my opinion. A lot of people disliked the musical added to it, but it really depends on the person, I think. Something to note is that this is the first time Johnny Depp has ever vocally sung in a film, which is surprising, really. His voice is certainly far above the expectations.

The music itself (Stephen Sondheim) is beautifully composed. It's something that actually stood out to me as being 'different', but in a good way. It really captivates you and just sucks you that much more into the film. Sweeney Todd is pretty well 90% music(al) and the music ties in with the screenplay just so well. Apparently, it was more like the film was made for the music and not vice versa.

But my review as an overall movie is biased, of course, since I'm a huge sucker for Tim Burtons as well as musicals. To be fairly honest, this is one of those "you love it or you hate it" films. It's worth a shot though, since if you love it, well you really, really do.

Hallo,

Alright. I'm planning my next dying-of-hair session and I need some suggestions! I've got medium-long, layered, black hair with green (supposed to be blue...) long side bangs (partially dyed).

So I was thinking that it'd be pretty awesome to have some white and black going on. I researched a bit on how to get black hair -> actual white. Bleach hair twice and then use some Amplified Virgin Snow stuff by Manic Panic on it. As for where, I was thinking to do all of my side bangs white and leave the rest black, OR go for an X-Men Rogue-style streak (bahahaha). Wait nevermind they're like the same thing.

So, any opinions on how this might look?
Also if you know anything else that looks cool, please suggest.

Amazing album by The Used; Lies For The Liars. Came out yesterday on the 22nd.

You know one of those albums that you only really like a couple songs, and you always want to skip the slow, boring, not-catchy ones? Well this isn't one of them. There IS, although, a *bad* song at the end, but it's at the end, so, I mean, well, it's okay. Don't have to skip much.

The album is built up of a total of 11 awesome songs; The Ripper, Pretty Handsome Awkward (favorite), The Bird and the Worm (favorite), Earthquake, Hospital (favorite. It's realllly good.), Paralyzed, With Me Tonight, Wake the Dead, Find a Way, Liar Liar [Burn In Hell] (all time favorite) and Smother Me. As you can see, I've got a couple favorites.

This album is overall a good 5/5 stars, and if not, a reaching 4 and a half. Amazingly, and at the same time disappointing, the album is a lot different from their previous album, In Love and Death. It consists of more hard rock, versus kinda whiney emo/screamo, which I too like, but this album wipes In Love And Death across the floor, personally. Mind you, there's still a fair bit of screaming, not to worry.

The biggest turn off for this though, would be the album artwork. I'm not kidding. There's a character The Used and some artist have created called CHADAM. FRIGGIN SCARIEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN. Oh wait, that's a lie. Chadam's other 'pals' fit right in there as well, and above. If you want to see what I'm talking about, google 'chadam lives myspace', and the myspace they've created for him will turn up. Be warned, there are pictures all over, and a look at the scarier chadam-like creature.

Well, it's actually probably just me who gets increadably freaked out by it, but I am so scared of it. Soooooo scared. Looking in the lyrics booklet that came with the CD scared the @#$% out of me.

But yeah. Go get the album. Srsly.

Oh my god. Once you see this movie, and laterwards disguss it amongst whoever you saw it with or pretend to do so, it will fucking blow your mind.

I'll read you the back cover;

Award-winning actors Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Scarlett Johansson star in The Prestige, the twisting, turning story that, like all great magic tricks, stays with you. Two young, passionate magicians, Robert Angier, a charismatic showman, and Alfred Borden, a gifted illusionist, are friends and partners until one fateful night when their biggest trick goes terribly wrong. Now the bitterest of enemies, they will stop at nothing to learn each other's secrets. As their rivalry escalates into a total obsession full of deceit and sabotage, they risk everything to become the greatest magician of all time. But nothing is as it seems, so watch closely. And be prepared to watch it again and again.

It might sound like the crappiest movie evar, but trust me, this is amazing. If you like suspense and movies that make you think alot after you see it (not the best way to put it), then for god's sake get the movie already.

Evaline (eww), Saosin, Aiden, Senses Fail, 30 Seconds To Mars and The Used were playing..! Senses Fail, 30 STM and The Used were absolutely amazing in every single possible way (except for Buddy Nielsen's retardish voice).

Most exciting part was we got to hear part of The Used's new album coming out.. (Lies For The Liars).. and a song from it that they had never EVER played before... thus being one of the FIRST to hear it.

This craziness went on for a full 5 hours. Yes, I was what was next to death at school the next day, but WORTH IT.

If you're in any of their tourdate locations, GO SEE IT. NOW.

Mmmk, so I was looking around dA, and then I saw this ad:

[link]

Lyke srsly.
