Well I can't say that I've really been up to much the last few months... I went to Otakon in August and had an okay time, though after spending MONTHS on my newest cosplay I really which I could have played off of it more. But I would have needed someone else in Military uniform from the show for that I think. Or hell, just another character in the military but out of uniform would have been nice.

Let's see... Aside from that I started school... But I haven't done any drawings. None. tried drawing doodles of Ed a few times but when they turned out badly I just didn't care enough to practice further.

BUT!! I am drawing something now! Recently... I don't know what it is about that show but... I've been watching Ouran High School Host Club... Which I have to admit... I find so ridiculously stupid that it's hysterical . Not just funny. Hysterical. So I'm drawing something in that style, Which is unlike anything else I've ever drawn before. But it's as I told Aru, I think my first Ouran styled drawing is extremely ironic.... Because I'm drawing Ed. And I plan on drawing at least one or two other characters in that style from FMA.

It would appear that with me old obsessions never die out...

I bought some art and some things to put on my car. That was it. And it was the most memorable experience of my life. I had a blast.... And blisters.... But a blast none the less.


I waited in three hour lines to get autographs from Vic twice. I didn't get the autograph of Riza Hawkeye or Leo, sadly. And Winry was there too!!! But I, again didn't get her autograph. Those voice actors were signing things at the same time as Vic and Aron. And I made a promise to Aru that I would do something when I met them.

I didn't get to do it the first time around. .......

So many people took pictures of me. It was a little ridiculous.... I even found an Edward cosplayer and we went outside and drew a transmutation circle on the sidewalk with chalk. Which was fun even though Edward did all the work. I'll post a link to her profile on DA soon.

There were a lot of complements too. Some were a little over the top. Especially this one guy who was basically in awe. He said that my costume was very well constructed and that I walked around as though I was really the Al from the movie. I wasn't looking around and begging for photographs. On top of that he said that I had ..."The Walk." Heh. Well thanks guy. I really appreciate it. But that's just the way I usually walk. I was very proud of my costume after that. Even the gloves, which I originally disliked I've grown attached to.

Going in to the con a was paranoid looking at all the flamel coats. They all had lining. Mine didn't. And when I first arrived, no one said anything to me for the fist hour. It wasn't until I was looking for an FMA panel that soon girl came up and asked for my picture. I didn't even count the number of pictures I was in. But I was also in the FMA photo shoot this year. So sometime soon I can probably Google myself.

All together there were two attempted glompings, one of which was successful. I got hit with a yaoi paddle after the guy hit my 'brother' And..... I don't know. A lot of people were ecstatic to see me. One even stared at me and asked me what color my eyes were. They thought I was wearing colored contacts to go with the cosplay. NOPE. Just me. I met and hung out with two really cool Edwards and one of those times there was a Winry with us. I was supposed to see them today but I missed them at the panel. I DID see the Edward though. Out of costume.

I was carrying around a suitcase through the entire con. I never went without it. And that thing was damn heavy. It was made of solid wood. But it was constructed to look like an old leather suitcase.

It was fun at dinner too. I took my friends I was rooming with to California Pizza Kitchen. And despite the con only being a few blocks away, there were con-goers there... But I was the only person in cosplay.That was really fun......

If I wasn't in a panel then I was on my feet. I barely ever sat down through out the Whole time I was there. I didn't want to miss the FMA shoot so on Saturday I didn't eat anything the entire day. And I didn't even feel hungry. Every person I met was great. I think several of them thought I was the anime character brought to life. They would see me walking and then they would watch me with these timid expressions like they wanted to say something but were too shy. It was weird....

Some people I shaw continuously and they didn't even take my picture until the fourth or fifth time that they saw me. And one Yaoi fangirl was dressed as Pride Ed And she ah... Wanted me to take pictures in compromising situations.... But.... no. That was the only time I was approached to do that though. No Ed's or Mustang's bothered me about it.

All, in all....

I didn't want to leave....

Sensei kicked my ass today. But I enjoied every mintue of it. He likes that I never complain. "Two hundred leg raises!" "Hai! Sensei!"

Sometimes I think he just does it to test me. Then he'll ask us to do ridiculous things; like today he ordered a guy who works at the Applebee's to get him a free meal. Stuff like that.

Sensei Terauchi was also like that though. He seemed to get a big kick out of the little kids at the dojo. And when he was just riding around with Sensei Tony (My sensei) I heard all these stories about how he would pick on people, despite his limited English vocabulary.

Like when they would spot an obese person when they drove by he would say stuff in this this, gruff, Japanese accent.

"Oh... OH. American-jin! Too much ice cream; Too much ice cream!"

... Now I have all this laundry from when I was at Grandma's... And it smelles as though my gi could use it too.

Oh! And I'm SUPPOSED to get my TRUE black belt instead of the junior black belt in six months. It's going to be very rigorous. And I have to remember all the pressure points and mucsles of the body by scientific terms... in JAPANESE.

I STILL haven't caught up on all my sleep. And I've been cleaning my room non-stop for three days. I spent my entire morning folding cloths.

And I'm going to put my new furniture in if it's the last thing I do. Even if I have to take apart the old board by heavy wooden board and put together the new by myself.

And today I visited an art page that had terrible, TERRIBLE work. And that person gets more pageviews for a blob they spend 5 seconds on than I do for something I spent meticulous hours in front of.

Why?

Color. Bloddy, stinkin' color.

That does it. I will be lazy no more! I'm going to color my next freaking drawing. In colored pencils. Which I have never used outside of 3 grade when red was red and green was green.

Hell, If I could find my watercolors I'd use those! I'm going to clean my room now out of pure aggravation at not being able to find my frigging paints!

And don't send me a comment saying something about how pageviews don't matter. HELL, I know that.

I'm just using it as a personal motivator.

I then sent a picture of myself to my RP partner. And it would seem we agree. I really, seriously, freakishly DO look like Alphonse Elric it true color. My nose is shaped a little differently but that's about it.

Having this fact confirmed is slightly frightening. I will have to out run the glompings left and right at the conventions I plan to attend. But I stand true to my goal: To go to one of the most populated anime conventions in all of the United States of America dressed as a beloved Fullmetal Alchemist character, and to leave each day without a single glomp befalling me.

Today I drew for the first time in several months. Or at least drew something that wasn't a school related project. I still need to work on the shoulders... Some how or another My people always seem to be wearing cloths that are still in the hangers. And I don't even recognize that I'm doing it when I draw it. Then I post it and I get one hell of a surprise.

Like a slap in the face. And I appear to either be a masochist or I just don't learn from pain. Because I keep doing it.

Anyway, the newest deviation is one that I drew and the other 4 I hound in a booklet of religious propaganda my brother gave to me for a good laugh. And I good laugh it was. Apparently if you don't believe in God/ Jesus/ Christianity you are a smelly little child...

My favorite part is in the corner of one panel After the little boy exits the "God's gift of love" room. He's panicked and screaming because he's falling into Hell. XD

As far as MY deviation I'd have to say that besides the shoulders I did a pretty damn good job. Although it made me realize... it would appear that my real talent lies in the drawing of PANTS.... Which is just strange...

This has to do with my new posts, the set of figure drawings. Today at school Donna brought in a nude model and we were given the opportunity to do gesture drawings of her. For those who know me they also know that I work very SLOWLY; Gesture drawings with charcoal are one of the few things I can do quickly. Though mine still arn't as detailed as others. I usually don't have enough time to get the position of the arms or even include them aside from maybe sticks placed where the bone would be.

So that's where the sudden burst of drawings came from. I'm still working on my other project so don't even ask if I'm continuing it.

In other words, I don't have get to meet a lot of people. I'm usually home doing things since I can't drive without a parent in the car with me yet. And honestly, if I could drive I wouldn't know where to go.

The RPing, I've found, has put me in a better mood than I can remember having in a long time. It's sort of like an outlet for self expressionism in a way. And I'm having a great time with it to boot. Even though the thinking on the same wavelength is kind of creepy.

My RPing partner is a master at plot, which helps since I sort of follow better just going with the flow of things. I DO have my input but most of the ideas she comes up with. Not to mention she plays the best Al I have ever come across. Ever. Bar none. Not to mention all of the other original characters she can portray all at once...

Well that assumption was wrong to say the least. Now it's going to take me forever the earn the Sense's trust back. Ooohh, I hate this. On top it all, I couldn't sleep and went to bed late last night. I couldn't remind my Father of my class because at 12 o'clock I was still asleep. I wasn't awake until 1:17. Just 17 minutes after my class ENDED.

I feel livid, depressed, spiteful, betrayed and... responsable for the entire desaster. All at once.

I just feel low.

Next week is spring break so I'll be spending all day in the school if need be. Every day.

While in the grocery store today I saw container of Humus... I thought it said "Humunculus" and had to do a double take on it. Then I walked through that isle again having forgotten something and I did it again on the same product.

Edit: March12- Today I saw a girl with a blond pony tail, and glasses, a black buttoned up coat and a plush off-white scarf. I thought she was Edward's father...

Also when my sensei was talking about getting out what you put into working with him I asked him if he meant equivalent exchange. Ironicly, he agreed.

I also can't set up a relif worth anything. I can sit and look at a pile of stuff and I don't even know what to do with it. It's just stuff to meand the randomness of it always throws me off. Like why a doll baby would have a cone glued to its head... *shakes head and shrugs* I don't know. And in my art class we always have to make our own set ups. *grummbles*

I HATE it! I like to think things serve a purpose. I get so bored drawing those things and my back starts to hurt from sitting on a drawing horse without a good picture to distract me.

So today... I just drew a pair. And then another from a different angle. And because the project states you can use and object and then work off of it using imagination I'm going to draw my own version of a practical automail arm reaching for one of the pairs. with gears and other what not in the background. I want to put a flower in there too, like a carnation. A live one and a dead one somewhere in the shadows. You figure out the symbolism.

This may be the only art project I've ever looked forward to... and all thanks to the random drawing of a pair... The only thing I can draw from life with relative speed... >_>

Edit: I just made more alterations to this project. Now it has a black background and I went through and cleaned up smudges and such. The only problem is that I had to put it in Paint to make these changes since I don't have a computer program for dealing with such things. So now the lines look rather blueish instead of black. It's okay though. I think it helps to make the drawings seem less harsh.

Tell me what you think of the new panel. I happen to like it... though... oh. Maybe it's centered around Ed too much?

... I just can't win.

I must appologize for any implications people may feel about one panel in particular in my Alphose Is project (you know the one). No, I can't say that I really give a damn if this scene bothers you. I have to appologize because the darned thing is makin' me sick (and nothing's even going on in it). I'm not certain it has the feeling that I was trying to express...it's been on my mind for twenty four strait hours... It's ment to be humorous but no one seems to get the joke unless they read the commentary, which slows the comic down.
The main reason I apologize is because Ed is to me a way of expression. I feel like I've just drawn myself naked for the world to see ... and I'm feeling very disturbed by it(hmm for some reason I'm not quit as desturbed by Alphonse. And he's the one I LOOK like).

I may draw a knew panel for it's place. If I do I'll first post the new panel seperatly and see how it goes over first.

Edit: It's decided. After mulling it over for a good two days I am ridding myself of that HORRIBLE PANEL! I think I'll feel far less exposed if I do...

My first comic I know the plot to and I've drawn the first page for... but I don't know what to title it. I was thinking maybe "Clone Wars". I believe there's a Star Wars movie by the same title and I could have some fun with that. The Second comic... well... I'll just say the name, "Dog Days."
Just know that it has to do with some form of HELL that the military has come up with... forcing Edward to put up with it and run the gauntlet. The third one is called "Body and Soul." It has Al in it. That's all I'm going to say. Whenever I wake up to make breakfast I always seem to think of a new one...

On top of this:
My grandmother is one of those people who's always naging us about what we want to do in the future. Just the other night she called and asked if I was doing anything for fun on top of my collage classes and I told her that at that moment I was drawing a comic. She, the most indignant and controling woman I have ever met, then responded by telling me that was good! Because I could "make a living out of it!" And that just about fried my brain. It may actually be why I became sick... I don't know. I was just NOT expecting that.

And I've also discovered that with these (FMA) characters makeing comics actually keeps me entertained rather than me wanting to just get it over with (like how comicing used to be for me).

I don't know why but I find these comics endlessly entertaining and I know that if I continue to draw them that my artwork will only get better. Although right now the comics may be a little darker than they should be until I buy replacement lead. My father bought me a case of the pencil I like (so I have spares for years to come). Each pencil came equiped with three sticks of lead. But when I draw the lead's too soft! It's smeering all over everything...

My drawings are also very stiff as far as the flow of the body goes. BUt then, I AM just getting used to drawing bodies again... I beleive that the last time I drew one SERIOUSLY before joining DA... was maybe a year ago...? Two years?

Basicly on top of getting down body flow I want to teach myself how to color. I used to be pretty good with watercolors... though I never could get a skin tone. I've always been more comfortable with Carcoal and pencils (crayons when I was little). I guess I just like things with more control so I think I'll try water soluable colored pencils next.

I also want to... learn to draw women...and chibis (just about as much as Ed looks forward to drinking milk). It MAY kill me. But I can't just draw men all my life.

I really don't like the idea of someone digging around in my mouth and pulling things out ( I think they're pulling 4 teeth to many). Everyone tells me that they can't SEE anything wrong with my teeth but apparently these docters can.

I'll later have to have jaw surgery because mine is "out of alignment" or some nonsense like that. Whenever I move my jaw side to side the area off to my right pops... sometimes it sticks but that's only ever happened four times in my lifetime and it's easy enough to unhitch (it's usually when I'm tired, like a muscle spasm).

In any case, at the moment I am trying to convince my brother to watch FMA with me. I'm certain that after he's watched a few episodes then he'll buy the entire set. Expecially since when I watch it with him I make a big deal out of laughing at everything that's even slightly funny... mellowdramaticly (I had him watch the episode where everyone is ordered to find Havoc a girlfriend and where everyone is afraid of the mysterious Warehouse 13. ) He did find it funny. Though I hate making such a big fool out of myself... and I think I my have scared him a little bit as well...

He's tall, has glasses with thin frames, a long nose, black hair and he REALLY needs to shave his face... And he's always laughing... Maybe if I'm lucky I can convince him to go as Maes

Before that, well... At 9 this morning I was at Tai Chi class. Afterwards for two hours I practiced forms and helped teach other classes until my instructor's training course started, which for the time being has changed into "black sash training". Once my class came around I was exhausted. Not to mention that two nights before I injered my toe... so one of them is purple while the rest of the metacarpul area of my left foot is a light shade of green. In the class though I was told to do 200 arm swings up and then 200 down.... NOW I have a swollen thumb from the blood pressure. It just won't go away.

So, ugg... I'm going to be dreaming of Edward doing arm swings tonight. I'm so thrilled...

Cosplay is actually the practice of makeing a costume for and then dressing up as a particular character in a show, video game, movie, etc.

Normally I go as a simle character. One whom I only have to put on a special pair of pants to play as... and the pant loook like normal cargo pants. Only two people have ever openly expressed that they knew who I was playing.

This year however, I am going to make a costume and wear it in. I am going as: Kyo Sohma (who I usually go as since we look almost exactly alike) from Fruits Basket, the DoddleBuggy creation (though I may change my mind... it can get hot in Baltimore come July), and Alphonse Elric from the Full Metal Alchemist movie.
Only I am going as the SHORT haired Al.

This is what will seperate me from the other Al cosplayers who will be there. This is because I plan on claiming that Edward (my "brother") got annoyed that I was copying him so much and cut off my hair in the middle of the night. The part that makes me different from other people?

I have the proof.

Several years ago I myself had long hair which ment alot to me as a child. When I got it cut off I kept it for personal reasons. Thus! The proof that Edward cut off my hair in the middle of ther night.

The image so far doesn't look BAD. Though I fear it may not resemble Raven. I was shocked to find that I didn't get annoyed once in the making of this since I normally become annoyed by things which are different from what I'm used to (at first).

This brought back some not so found memories from a month or so ago and I fear that I am about to try drawing chibis again (even though my attempts were just sad). Though now I have found a style of drawing them that I like better in Full Metal Alchemist.

I also think that I will be drawing the remaining Titans as well as Edaward Elric(FMA). Cybrog seems to be a challenge. But mostly, the thought of drawing Edward makes me more nervious. I've attempted once before(check 'Scraps') and his eyes and hair are just difficult for me to capture. His height should make it fun though. I like drawing shorter characters.

When I was in middle school everyday at lunch and all over my notes in class I would draw eyes. Every day. 365 days a year. Now I tend to notice that I like anime/cartoon characters first of all because of thier personalities and secondly because of their eyes. Half the images in my favorites are there because I like the eyes.

At the begining of last semester I had developed a liking for Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender (c) Nick. The kid has beautiful eyes.
Lately I've been more drawn to Beast Boy [(c)DC Comics & Cartoon Network] because his eyes, also beautiful, are capable of being either masculine or womanish and they display more emotion than any others that I've come across. Not to mention, the kid makes me laugh.
I just started watching Full Metal Alchemist [(c) ] And I like Edward Elric's eyes from that. Very strong and sharp, desicive and deturmined. I know all of these characters are male... very strange. But I just haven't found a female character who's eyes I like (except Raven I like hers... And I guess Bulma from DBZ in later episodes). The female eyes I do like pale in comparison to the ones listed above though...

My own eyes, when I'm talking my left brow rises itself without me knowing... expesially when I find something funny... Someone once told me that I seem glazed over, like there's a vail present in front of my eyes. I guess they're right. Must be why I like Beast Boy so much...

And they made there way onto my computer when I scanned them....

MY SCANNER KILLED THE BRIGHTNESS.

The only colors that will show up on screen are either morphed into pastels or muted hues.
The other problem is that not only are the colored pictures depleated; the line arts are ruined as well. The reason I say this?

I like sharp, crisp lines. I use a 0.5mm lead pencil for all of my work to insure that effect... but if ever I want to post my work online, I am forced to make a copy of the original and go over it with PEN.
And I HATE pens...

What am I getting at? Well resently I informed some people of images I was planning to post, however due to the uninspired lack of quality which my scanner seems to promote I am forced to hold off on the posting of these images... until Christmas; when I get my new scanner . I will still post simple things but not anything really worth seeing.

BTW: DO NOT LEAVE REVIEWS!! All of the artworks currently posted are going to be resubmitted using the new scanner. Though I will probably leave one of the current images in scraps just for the sake of compairing the two.

I, for some reason, am unable to tell when something is cute from when it's just obnoxious. And I think powerpuff girls are discusting... so mybe I'm wrong and my drawings are actually good. I don't know... I used my best friend as the subject to torture me. So there you go Suz. I hope you like it for this was far too painful otherwise.
