My family celebrated the week before Christmas and then I was invited to spend Christmas with my Brother-In-Law's Niece's and Nephew's-In-Law and families and it was a blast. I've been dragging and dropping all afternoon. I was looking at another deviant's gallery and saw that he had folders on the side of his gallery for different kinds of deviations, so I decided to do that myself. I thought that if a new person came to see my gallery, they would think I only did fractals. Now I have seperate folders for the different kind of fractal programs I use, plus Photograpy, Drawings And Paintings, Paper Sculpture Masks and more. So much for only staying on the computer for a short while today!

I decided to take out the new version of the old fractals that I updated and just update them where they already were in my gallery. This means you won't be seeing the updates because they are minor updates and won't go into the watch list again. I'll also have to reprint out those gallery pages where they were so I can put them in my binder with the new borders and titles added. I'll put links to them in my journal though when I get through with all of the updated ones so you can see them if you want to.

I'm going to be submitting some old fractals that I did way back before I learned how to put borders and titles on them. The reason I'm putting them on again instead of just updating the old ones is because I have a whole binder of my gallery pieces printed out as they appear on the gallery pages showing when they were submitted etc. I don't want to have to go back and reprint out that gallery page to update it. I'm making a screensaver of a bunch of my fractals and I wanted some of the old designs in there. I thought it would look better if they all had the borders and titles with them. Now, I've totally confused you haven't I?

Sorry I have not had the time to write any comments lately or to submit anything. I have been working on making some fractals for the Fractal Universe Calendar opportunity. It takes those fractals about a day or more to render in the size they need if a piece gets chosen. I don't think I have an ice cubes chance in Hell to get any of my pieces selected, but it is fun just trying. So until I have everything ready for submission to the Fractal Universe Calendar editors I will be out of touch for awhile. I promise to get back to commenting as soon as I'm done.

Thank you so much to those who voted for my deviation The Wing Of The Fire Dragon, making it the winner in the Wings contest. I was truly surprised when I went on the Apophysis page to vote for my favorite in the Hearts contest. I never expected to see my deviation at the top of the page as the winning piece for last weeks contest. It really caught me by surprise, in the best way. I needed a pick me up and that really did it. So thank you to all that voted for my piece. I haven't entered anything for so long I forgot how fun it was to win once in awhile. I also can't wait to see who wins the Hearts contest. There were so many entries for that contest it was hard to pick a favorite, but I did. Now I have to wait and see if my favorite wins.

Yes, I finally reached 800 pieces in my gallery. It is a real source of pride for me because of the hard time I have using my hands. I am very thankful for the people that have taught me how to do fractals because it has become the one outlet for my creativity that is not hard on my hands, and it's so hard when you are an artist and can't do what you love to do for a living. Now I can make designs that are easy and fun and hopefully enjoyed by viewers of my gallery. Thanks for everyones support!

My keyboard has gone crazy. When I type an x I get a z and an x together like this - zx, and when I type an s I get a and s like this - as. If you get some weird comments and I've forgotton to take out the extra letters that's what's going on. I can spell pretty well. My keyboard just makes me look like I can't.

Well, I didn't get to print out my front page when my pageviews reached 8000. I like to try and catch all of those even numbers and keep the pages in a folder. I'll have to settle for 8003. Not that I'm crying over it. I'm so glad that I've had that many visitors, especially when I never expected I'd have much of a gallery or anything that anyone would really want to see when I joined DA. So even though most people have pageviews in the five digits and upward, I am very happy to have passed the small amout of 8000. Thanks for everyone who has given me the confidence to go on submitting pieces. I really appreciate everyones continued support.

7,777 Pageviews and 777 Deviations. I always print out the section where you find these numbers whenever the numbers are the same or relate to something in my life. I have a lot of sevens in my life so this was a good one to catch at the right time to print it out. I hate it when it changes to the next number before I can print it! Especially when you reach a milestone like 8000 pageviews. Those numbers are the best. I missed the time when 7000 pageviews came up so I hope I'm on the computer when it changes over to 8000. I know, I'm a bit crazy...

Sorry I've been so out of touch lately. I'm still having problems with my broken ankle that won't heal and just a few weeks ago I had to have my appendix out. So, sitting at the computer hasn't been easy. I really miss making pieces to submit and getting to write comments on the pieces you submit. Hopefully I'll get it back into gear soon. Oh you've just got to hear my mouse story. Well just as I finished this last sentance I heard my cat Magic, take a leap out to where I was working on the computer. I turned on the light because I usually work on the computer in the dark in the middle of the night. Well, she caught a mouse and in less then a second it was a ex-mouse. I felt sorry for it but I also don't like mice in the house. Especially after my last incident with one. My cat Morgan loves to play with twist ties. The kind that tie up bread bags and such. She gets them in her mouth and delivers them as a present to me usually when I'm in bed for the night. She walks in the room and with the tie still in her mouth and she announces the delivery with a MMRRRRp! sound and then drops the twist tie by my bed as to say "Here's your present!" Well, about four nights ago I was in bed with the lights out and the tv on and she came in with a delivery. She made her usual delivery MMRRRRp sound and silly me, I thanked her for bringing me the present. Unfortunately her next move was to dive under my makeup table and then from one side of it to the other. I said, "Morgan, did you just bring me a live present?" If she could have spoken English the answer would have been yes as she was tearing around my room trying to catch the thing. I really needed that at 12:30 AM. I decided to try and close it in my room and set up a blow up bed in my Mom's room and slept there that night. Well good old Morgan pulled all of the towels I had stuffed under my door out during the night so the next morning I didn't know if it was still in my room. There was no sign of him all day so I just decided to sleep in my room that night and if it was there, so be it. The next morning my Mom used the bathroom and then so did I. I then got a call from my Mom to come look in the bathroom because Morgan was acting like the mouse was in there. It's a good thing it didn't pop out when I was in business in there or it would have scared me s--tless to say the least. I blocked Morgan and myself in the bathroom and we had a fun time trying to catch the bugger. I would shove him out one side of the cabinet and she would get it in her mouth. Unfortunately she does not like to kill mice like Magic, she likes to play with them. She gets the whole thing in her mouth without touching it with her fangs and all you see is the wiggling tail sticking out. Several times she caught him then I would try and get her head in a bag and make her let it go so I could close the bag. No luck. It finally got up under the sink cabinet and I couldn't get to it so I took Morgan and myself out of the room and taped off the bottom of the door where it could escape. I finally caught it with a trap but I'll tell you, it was a few hectic days. I'm trying to teach Magic how to tell Morgan the trick of killing the mouse not just playing with it. We knew there was one somewhere in thekitchen tonight because Morgan kept looking under the stove. I said, "Don't you dare bring that up the stairs and give it to me." I had gone up to bed but then decided to come down and play on the computer. Magic had the mouse one minute after I entered the room. Well hopefully I can rest easy tonight. Fun time in the Thomas household!

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to add a watermark to a piece so that it only shows up when the piece is printed? If not, what is the best way to add a watermark so that it's not too distracting for a person to view that piece? I tried a few watermarks with just the copyright sign and my name and put them over the print with an opacity of about 30 percent. I think it would be too hard to enjoy the piece. Any help would be very much appreciated! - I have photoshop elements to work with.

I just submitted my 750th piece this morning. I never thought I'd get to 100 pieces. That's what that old fractal bug will do to you. I want to thank everyone so willing to help out when I was first introduced to fractal art. I asked a lot of questions and people were so generous when it came to answering them. Even the silliest questions I had when I really knew nothing about making a fractal and then making it look good in the final presentation, were answered in detail. When I first started I didn't know anything about framing the pieces and putting the titles on. I did a lot of studying and now I have so much fun making a piece look good from the main fractal to the perfect typeface that fits the piece. I just hope I can continue to make pieces that will be enjoyed and will make more people interested in catching that fractal bug.

Sorry if you've been getting some repeats of older fractals. I've gone back and changed some of them. Some have typeface changes and some have color changes. Hi everyone. I'm back on the computer. Actually I'm back on a borrowed laptop, because I'm not allowed to get out of bed for 2 months because of my ankle surgery. They put 2 screws in to re-attach the ankle knuckle that broke off. I'm in a lovely hot pink cast. There is very little to no pain, in fact I had practically no pain the day after my surgery. I guess after walking around on a broken ankle for about two months, even surgery pain is a vast improvement. I have a bunch of pieces to submit that I did before my operation that finally are finished with borders and names. I'll only put three on a day at the most. I don't want to flood you with submissions.

I will be gone from DA For a short while. I found out that what was previously a stress fracture in my ankle is now a full blown break. My entire inside ankle bone on my right foot has broken completely off. The x-ray was quite a sight. I'm going to have surgery on Wednesday to have 2 screws put in my ankle bone to hold it together. If I wasn't screwed once with the break now I'm going to be screwed twice! Well, I'll miss being on for awhile but you know a little thing like a nasty ankle won't stop me for long. I'll probably come home from the hospital, put a bench up by my computer to put my foot on, and then catch up with my DA friends. And then I'll have a bunch of stuff to put on because I've been making a lot of pieces while I can so I can submit them when I'm not feeling well and keep active that way. See you again soon. Oh, I may just have to submit a few pieces before I go.

I hope that everyone has a great time during this holiday season. I found out my ankle is broken again so my usual decorating overload will not happen this year. I have at least 800 gorgeous ornaments I usually put on my tree. I also have about twelve boxloads of decorations that get put around the house. I'm going to really miss it because it is so beautiful, but I'll just have to play it cool, (no pun intended). Hear's hoping you and yours have a very Happy Holiday!

Yeah! Today I hit 6000 pageviews and I wanted to thank everyone for being kind enough to take the time to view my page and peruse my gallery. I've had so much fun doing the pieces I've put into it. I'm really trying to get on the computer more often so that I can keep up with comments. I know I really appreciate the critiques I get and they are always very helpful and continue to make me grow stronger as an artist. So, I want to really give back. I try to write my honest opinion without hurting feelings. Of course everyone has their own taste and I usually try to say that, when I give a comment on a piece that I think would look better with some changes. What the heck do I know anyway? I only hope my critiques can help as other peoples critiques have helped me. I'm afraid that when I can't get on the computer for several days because of my health problems or for whatever reason, I get overwhelmed by the amount of pieces that I need to leave comments for. So, I sometimes have to just look at the pieces and then delete them without commenting on them. I just want you to know that I always DO look at them even when I don't feel up to leaving the comments. I wouldn't miss checking out what you are all doing for anything in the world. That would be crazy when there is so much good stuff to see and enjoy. Keep up the great work and hopefully I'll keep up on the comments.

The gradient files have finally made their way into my gallery and are available for anyone to download. The great Help Desk people helped me out to get them there. There are 5 packs - A, B, C, D, and E. All of them have 105 gradients in them. I really hope that fractal lovers will find these new colors fun to experiment with. I want to do another pack of really bright gradients and a pack of my favorites from all of the packs I've done. So, I hope you will look forward to that in the future.

I finally made four of my own gradient packs for use with Apophysis and I think they can also be used with Ultra Fractal. I submitted them to Apophysis so you should be able to find them in their gallery. I'm hoping I submitted them the right way. If so, I hope that anyone that wants more gradients to play with will take advantage of my new files. Other people have been so kind to share their gradients with the fractal loving society, that I thought it was high time I gave something back. I hope you like them and can use them!

The weather was beautiful today. I went out and sat on my patio with my two cats and enjoyed the great temperature and low humidity. I wish every day could be like today was. What is everyone doing for fun this Summer? I'm hoping to get away for a week and go back to the scene of some of my best photographs earlier on in my gallery. The photos I took at Ohiopyle State Park. It was gorgeous there. I always spend a week with my Sister and Brother-In-Law somewhere. It's always turns out to be the best week in my life because I love spending time with them. We have a blast. I hope you all get a chance to do something fun this Summer. Enjoy the wonderful weather!

Hi everyone. I just found out why my ankle has been in so much pain. I have a nasty stress fracture right above my ankle on the right foot. I have to wear an aircast and stay off of it as much as possible, so I won't be able to comment on your submissions for now. I probably won't get to answering any comments either. Sorry about that! I miss making fractals and wish I had a lap-top so I could still play on the computer with my foot up. I can't put my foot up with the way I have my computer situated. Well, I'll be back soon.

I'm afraid I won't be doing much work on DA for awhile. My Mom just got out of the hospital after being in all winter long and helping her is my first priority. If I do get the chance to get on the computer once in awhile I'd like to spend the time making some fractals and submitting them and also a few photos, hopefully. I hope you don't mind if I don't get to all of my comments or get to writing comments on all of your pieces. I have to just do what I can do right now or I'll wear out completely. Don't worry though, I'LL BE BACK! Probably sooner then you'd hoped!

Yesterday I submitted my 600th deviation. I actally submitted my 601st one but wanted to keep printouts of Milestones I've hit along the way so I deleted the 601st one so I would able to print out the page with the 600th one on it. I'll put 601 back on after I printout the milestone page. I never in a million years would have thought I'd have this many pieces on DA. It is all thanks to my many friends and the visitors to my gallery that have supported me since the day I joined this most wonderful site. So thank you my friends, you know who you are. Thank you for spreading your knowledge and for answering any questions I've ever had. It's a wonderful thing to spread information on art and everything about it. I can only hope I can pass on some useful information as well. Also, thanks to those fractal artists that have made free gradient packs of their own, for others to use as well. It makes it more fun to have a large variety of colors to choose from because you do get bored with the basic ones. Another shout out to the script writers. You keep it new too, so thank you. Everyone that has anything to do with teaching me the art of fractals please know that it has been a blessing for me. Because of severe Rheumatoid Arthritis and badly crippled hands I have not been able to work. I went to art college to become an illustrator, preferably of Sci-Fi style work but also of Children's Illustration. My fast moving diesese put an end to that career, but now thanks to the fact that I found DA and that they showcase a lot of Digital Fractals artists I've been able to find an artform that is very easy on my hands and that gives me a fabulous outlet for my creative spirit. I'll try to continue to make my work fresh and interesting so that I hope people will keep enjoying it. And beware anyone with any new programs that look interesting. I may be asking you questions next!

Whenever I put on a new version of my anti-virus and internet security something always happens to my computer. I couldn't connect to the internet yesterday after putting my new version of internet security on. I was on the phone to MSN for about 2 hours getting it straightened out. Never did figure out the reason why I couldn't connect but thankfully I'm up and running now. Why can't computers just always work right?

I'm having a bit of trouble with my hands and was overwhelmed when I went on tonight to find 157 comments to leave and 66 comments to answer. My friend dug me out of the snow yersterday so I'm going to try and get out and take some pictures of it if I can. I may not be able to move too well today because I finally got around to putting all of my Christmas stuff away and it took the entire day yesterday. I couldn't stand up by the time I went to bed, my feet were so sore. I had about twenty big boxes of stuff to pack away. Yes, I admit it I am a Christmasaholic. So, I'm not promising, but I will do my best to get some of that snow caught in a few good photos to put here on DA.

We had about 20 inches of snow today. The birdfeeder has a dome of snow about that high on top of it. It looks like I won't be going anywhere for awhile. It takes our condo association forever to come plow us out. I'm not about to do it, that is unless I have to. If I try, I won't move for a week! I would like to try and push the front door open so I can go out and take some pictures of it. It is beautiful, as long as you don't have to drive in it. I always wished the snow would fall everywhere but on the sidewalks and the streets. Now that would be handy!

It looks like I'm going to be stuck in the house tomorrow and maybe for a few days more. Our forecast is warning of of a big snowstorm coming our way. Well, at least I'll be able to get to comment on everyones work and also to play on the computer. You may see a lot of new submissions or you may not. Sometimes when it snows like that I just burrow in and watch TV. The snow makes it hard for me to move sometimes but I'll get on the computer and forget I'm going to be totally stiff and sore when I get done. It seems that when I feel really rotten, I come up with better work. Other times I can work for what seems like forever on a fractal and I still can't come up with something good. We'll see! If anyone lives in my area, stay inside. Two days ago my car skidded through two stop signs. One four-way stop sign I went through usually has tons of people going through it. I was so lucky nobody was there because I would have gone right into any car that was in the intersection at the time. I was going as slow as the car would go and it still wouldn't stop at those stop signs. Then as I was coming around the big corner that leads to my condo parking lot, the car decided it wasn't going to go the right way. Instead of taking the curve it just kept going straight towards a telephone pole. I'm trying to break and things are going through my mind like - this is it, this is when the car gets destroyed. I was waiting for the crunch of metal and to my amazement, the car stopped about one inch from the pole. There was a guy coming the other way in a big truck and I saw him watching me slowly sliding towards the corner and I could see he was ready to jump out of his truck and help. He stopped the truck just as my car came to a halt and we both, at the same time wiped our foreheads with our hands and I could see him mouth - whew!!!, just as I did. It didn't matter that I was going about 1 mile and hour, the car would not behave. I never was so glad to park my car and have it, and me in one piece. Stay in and don't take a chance if you live in a snow area unless you have a Hummer or something like it that will hug the road and not skid. You never know how icey it is under that snow. It's not worth the try. Bundle up inside instead.

Happy New Year to everyone at Deviantart. I am looking forward to all of the new things I'll be learning in the new year and can't wait to see what new pieces all of you come up with to make the art scene in 2005 even more exciting then last year. I hope to meet a lot of new artists and friends. I feel very lucky to have met the wonderful artists I met in 2004 and I'm very happy to call them my friends. Please forgive me if I don't get to comment on all of your wonderful submissions. Friends of mine just brought down my Christmas boxes down from the attic because I can't lift anymore and I think there are about 30 large rubbermaid boxes full of decorations and 20 boxes of tree ornaments I have to spread out around the house. I have a short while to do it in too because my family is getting together for an early Christmas this year. It's the only time everyone would be in the same place at the same time. Two weeks early! So I'm going to probably be non-existant on DA for awhile. I will get on to see your work, believe me I wouldn't miss that for the world. It's just getting time to write comments that will be the problem. I just don't want anyone to think I've deserted them. My bod is going to be a major wreck though. I usually go to bed, unable to move anymore. If I don't get to talk to you, please have a wonderful and safe holiday and may all of your wishes come true. I hope everyone gets to spend time with the ones they love.

I absolutely love the colors of fall. I don't know if it's because I'm a redhead and they are the best colors for me or if it's just in my blood. It seems a lot of my fractals tend to turn out to be fall colored. Does anyone else find themselves using their favorite colors over and over again in their deviations? Just curious.

I actually won something which doesn't happen to me very often. Of course, you need to enter things to win, and I don't do that often. Well, I entered Chaoscopers SPACE contest and won in the simple catagory for my submission - From The Outer Limits. Now mind you, this club is very small. I had 37% of the vote and that was a whopping 8 votes. But I was still very honored to win and I thank the 8 people that voted for my piece. More of you Chaoscope users have to join this club. It will make it more fun with more people. And, they've done a very nice job with the club. A lot of hard work goes into it by the people that put it together and answer all of the questions and go over all of the submissiopns. They deserve a round of applause!

Hi everyone! How is everyone doing now that it's getting cold out? I tend to burrow in and hang out in warm fuzzy clothes. I don't adjust well to cold weather.
