After I get the $10 for the slot (confirmed in PayPal or via snail mail check/money order, whichever you prefer) you will have a slot reserved, and the commission will be priced at sale prices. If you wait until after the 14th, it will be normal price. And no, if I delay the start of it past the 14th (which I never, ever delay that long) you won't have to pay full prices. If you reserve a slot, you get the sale prices on that commission for as long as it takes.

Hey everyone!

Well final's week is over, I survived.

I'm confident I passed everything easily, though some classes just barely.

So far I've got two B's for certain. Three classes yet for final grades to post in though so, while I'm done, I can't apply for my tuition reimbursement yet.

I can't wait for that payoff.

So, I bet you're all wondering what's coming up. Well, last night I made some good progress on the Beta version of the HD Zelda model I mentioned a couple journals ago. The model itself is almost all set; just a few more rigging issues to clear up. I'll be tackling the textures next, of course with the assistance of my lovely Gracie.

A big thing coming up for me though is I've decided to take another shot at the FanFic I started writing way back when. Watching Star Trek got me itching to write it but, I wanted to do it more original, at least, in so far as a fanfic can be. I used a lot of ship names and concepts from other games, and after a few months of brainstorming, I think I can stand on my own now. So, I'll be re-writing the beginning and starting from scratch.

One big thorn in my side though this week was a nasty cold I caught from Grace. This Godforsaken thing has had me hacking and wheezing all week. Grace is actually out with my parents right now, tracking down some drugs for me to hopefully get rid of it.

Over the past weekend, Grace, Me, and a couple friends went to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra in concert at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. It was an awesome show, and I only seized 3 times. (I kid!

)

Let's see, what else...ah yes. I'm working on some ideas for Christmas gifts to my friends here on DeviantArt. I know I'm short on time, but with school done, I can put a lot more thought and time into whatever I decide to make. Suggestions, as always, are appreciated.

So that about wraps things up for now. I'm debating doing a special sale on commissions between Christmas and New Years, so keep an eye open for that. I mean RIDICULOUS discounts off my normal rates, to make up for my inactivity here.

I've been getting more and more calls from so called "credit reporting agencies" about my debit and credit cards being stolen and used. People, if you get these, DO NOT RESPOND. Just hang up the phone and if you need the extra assurance, call your card provider or bank about it. I've done so 2 out of 3 times and it is NEVER TRUE.

At a distance the opacity map stops working properly, showing more of the eye behind it.

Now, here's the deal. Using whatever resources you may have at your disposal, find me a solution. And what do you get?

Hey everyone, posting from school. No, I'm not in class.

Got a little downtime and no homework so I thought I'd update everyone on what's going on. For those unaware, I started school a couple weeks ago, and I'm loooooving it. I've been intellectually starved for way too long.

As an IT student, I got my hands on the launch version of Windows 7, you can read my thoughts on it on my blog, follow the linkage if you're interested.

Anyway, on the art front, sad to say not much is going on. My classes keep me busy, that said, I will try my best both to accept commissions, and keep up semi-regular posting of my art. I posted up the fan-suggested Bath House Muses II, you can check that out if you like.

As to what's coming exactly, likely more original 3D. I also want to do some type of Midna canonical piece sometime soon...just waiting for the inspiration to strike. I know a lot of you watch me for that stuff in particular...I apologize for not coming out with any new stuff in so long. Mostly it's because of this business with DeviantArt deleting random bits of my work because some asshole has a chip on his shoulder and is too damned cowardly to just speak his mind. However, I am very much over that. Now I'm just waiting for that ever elusive inspiration. I feel something coming though, so, keep watching. I promise I won't disappoint.

OK, that about covers everything going on with me. Also, I've had several people noting me recently about getting in touch with *Liquidfire3 about her commissions and whatnot, all I can say is use her contact info on her profile. I can mention stuff to her, but her message box is so full right now, a lot of you just get lost in the shuffle. Her commissioners have her good email address so, if that's you, and you're looking for her, that's you best bet.

I want to do a deviation with the new Black Project nude version models very, VERY bad, but I simply have so many ideas as to what I could do with them that I just can't wittle it down to a proper concept. Howdy everyone!

As I keep moving ahead with V3, it's becoming increasingly obvious that the map is simply too fargone at this point to fix so it will compile and run properly. Essentially, it's just too damn big. So, I'm going to start over again.

I know there are a lot of Source mappers on here so, if anyone would like the VMF file for version 3, shoot me an email/note. All I ask is credit for what is there since it is a lot of work.

Anyway, moving on. The Black Project is proceeding slowly but surely, I'll likely have it done just before or after Gen Con. Speaking of which, that's why I haven't been on a lot, between that and gearing up for school again, I haven't had a lot of spare time to be creative. Once things calm down though and I get back into the groove of work/school/sleep, I should be more active again.

Also, so sorry ~Zeldita, I completely spaced on your mp3s. I'll have those to you as soon as possible.

Girl's Game Night

Half Life 2 - Street Warfare Series

This series of maps for Half Life will allow you experience raw, uncontrolled street warfare in three settings throughout City 17. These maps have been concepted for awhile now, and IÂm now in the process of making them.

Eavestown Docks - This map will sit on the City 17 river, and will encompass a lot of long range combat, with a few close up areas as well. ItÂs built around a large bridge, with bases for each side on the sides of the river.

Vertigo - Hope you donÂt have a problem with heights. This map takes place between 5 high rise buildings, and will encompass mostly close quarters combat. Make sure you have a secure footing- a wrong step will send you over the edge.

House Arrest - This map will take place in one of the many urban residential areas, and will have many different vertical levels, making for interesting mid-range combat.

Hyrule Source Version 3

Version three of my Hyrule Caslte map, this one is by far the most detailed. Take note: the heavy detail work will require a substantial machine to run properly.

BLACK PROJECT
I've got something incredible for you all, in the works, and this time, I'm not giving details.

I feel naughty this month, what can I say. All I'm going to say is it's related to Zelda: Twilight Princess, and, judging by the response to a few of my works, this one is going to blow some of you out of your chairs.

OK, I'm so sorry about the delay in posting the results. I rented Red Faction: Guerrilla and I haven't been able to get anything done since.

This one and the second place were ridiculously close, I had an extremely hard time deciding which to choose. In the end though I liked this one just slightly more, and the final version will likely be extremely similar to it. Thanks Zeldita!

This one was the other problematic one, I absolutely LOVE the concept of the two figures, and that will be the biggest part I take from this one, probably along with that bad ass font.

While this one wasn't as hard to pick from the other two, I must say I do love the design, and this will be the only one un-modified, I'll be using it as a watermark. I LOVE the font alignment and the symbol to the left there, and its black and white look makes it a perfect watermark.

Now then, onto less fun news. Regarding the recent copyright repeat performance from the DA administrators, I've made my decision. Since I cannot for the life of me pry a straight answer on this, I will continue to post the art here, along with mirroring it to a new, private subdomain of DarkFireLabs.net. I'm designing that site for myself now, I'll likely be posting a first look at it in the next few days.

From this point on, I will not respond to these silly things. If you're looking for something of mine, and it isn't here, just head to that new site. It will be there. DA can delete the whole damned gallery if they want to, I'm honestly just not stressing about it anymore. In fact, I may go as far as to only post low resolution, watermarked versions to DeviantArt and keep the original, unwatermarked ones for my own private site.

Further, all deviations from this point on will be watermarked before posting. I've been debating that for a long while, I think it's a good idea. Note, if you're looking for an un-watermarked version for any legitimate use and you're willing to ask permission, please do so, I'll be happy to provide one. I have not yet declined use of any of my work from anyone who asks, and I don't think it's too much to ask for a note or an email. Thank you in advance.

Here we go again. Another one of my deviations has been deleted for copyright violation.

I've had enough, this is the end of this. I've formally demanded an answer from the DeviantArt staff on this issue. Those who are curious can read my message to them below.

My contest is still running though, and will conclude long before anything happens involving this inquiry (so long as they don't ban me of course.) Frankly though, my fear of consequences has finally been outweighed by my frustration over their inconsistent enforcement of policy. I want an answer, and I'm not going to stop asking the question until I get one.

So, post your thoughts if you like, but I'm not asking for a petition or a private army. I will handle this myself. If DeviantArt decides they don't want my work posted here, fine and dandy, I'll find somewhere else to go with it.

For the record, in case this is the last you hear of me should something happen, I've had a great time here. I've met wonderful people, not to mention found the love of my life on this site. And I'm not being dramatic when I say that I will greatly miss this site, and all the friends I have, should I end up leaving. So, I want to say thank you to everyone here. Thanks for every favorite, thanks for every comment, thanks for every critique.

But as stated, I can no longer tolerate this inconsistent and unprofessional attitude towards adminisration. I want an answer, a definite, enforced answer, as to wether or not what I create is allowed here. At this point I don't even care, I would gladly stay doing my original 3D work and my 2D work. I just want an answer.

So, thanks everyone, you've been wonderful. I couldn't ask for a better experience in a website.

DA HELPDESK INQUIRY

Alright, I've very much had enough of this.

I just had another one of my deviations "Twilight Goddess Midna" removed. This has happened before with other deviations and I'm thoroughly sick of dealing with this. I've been nice, I've been professional, and had the patience of a SAINT dealing with you people on this, and now, I am done. I want an answer to my question, NOW.

I realize that my work straddles the lines of copyright very, very well, in that I use models from the Nintendo games that have been heavily modified and customized. Now I have asked before, but I cannot get an answer. Now I am demanding one.

I have been a subscriber to this site for close to a year, I have been a member even longer. From day three I've been posting works based off these 3D models, tons, literally hundreds of deviations. And I'm sick and tired of some asshole with a chip on his shoulder reporting one and you guys immediately taking it down.

So, my question is as follows:

Are my deviations allowed, or not?

If not, I will gladly delete every last one myself, if so, I will gladly continue participating as a contributor to this site and continue uploading more. But I am sick and goddamn tired of the inconsistent and incoherent way you enforce your policies. So have a meeting, a discussion, a chat, whatever, and make a damn decision one way or the other.

If I don't have a reply with a solid answer by July 1st, I am leaving, and taking every last posting with me.

I'm not asking much here, I don't think anyway. I want a consistent enforcement of your copyright related policy, one that doesn't involve my deviations getting sniped for no damn reason out of the blue. They are not traces, they are not screenshots, they are not rips, they are not captures. None of those images existed in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM before I rendered them, so in my view, they are mine to distribute as I see fit as they are to any other fan artist on this site.

So, one way or another, I WANT AN ANSWER. AND I WANT IT NOW.

Hey everybody, I'm debating putting up a contest for you all to design me a new logo for my site and commission business. This contest would span all types of media, like sketching, 3D, 2D, vectored, pretty much anything. The prize would be something like this:

A free commission valued up to $50 from me, an exhibition of their work on my website, as well as 5 free songs from Amazon MP3.

In addition all the artists who submitted an entry would have their work put on display on my site, as well as a link to the DeviantArt account (or another account of their choice, whichever they prefer.)

Before I do this though I want to know that I'd get a decent number of entries to make it worthwhile. Hence the new poll.

Hey everyone.

OK, updating you all. The rennovations are going good, but IÂve discovered our first casualty. The Apocalypse Valley Garrys Mod map will no longer be available for download, sadly, the only other copy I had was on the garrysmod.org servers, and they deleted it (I have no idea why.) Thankfully it was one of the less popular downloads I had. Though, if anyone out there has a copy of it and is willing to send it over, IÂll be more than happy to put it back up for download.

OK, other things. I have a few more features planned out for this new site. As you can see, downloads will now be posted as blog entries, so that they can be searchable, and so that they will post to the RSS feed as well. That means if you subscribe, youÂll not only get the entries for the blog itself, youÂll also get word every time I post something new for download. Might be useful to someone out there if youÂre waiting for something to be posted again.

As to the other models, namely the 3D posable ones, theyÂre coming, I promise. Zelda was the first one posted thus far, and she, like the others, is sporting the new Biped and Physique based rigging system. This system yeilds much better results, and in addition has built in support for IK restrictions of movement, meaning poses must be done more realistically, but again, this means they look better in the end.

Other things. Videos, they are coming, but at this point IÂm not entirely sure how. IÂm looking into a plugin for my CMS that will handle it, but IÂm picky about such things, so if I canÂt find it, IÂll likely just cook something up in flash myself. But I promise, they are coming.

Also, to my DA watchers: IÂm cooking up a contest with a very sweet prize, so keep your eyes peeled for the Journal about that.

Hey everyone!

Well I've finally gotten tired of keeping my clunker of a site running, and I want to get Gracie more involved easier, so I've moved to a new site based on the Wordpress open source CMS. Same location, right here as always.

With this I'll be able to put up and keep track of media easier, and hopefully make the site even more interactive for my watchers here.

Most of the functions are already restored, the only casualty was the videos section, and the downloads aren't working. In my cleaning, I accidentally deleted the whole assets directory.

I can be such an idiot.

I promise I'll get them up as soon as possible, though I don't have the files, so I'll just have to suck it up and repackage all the files. Zelda, Ilia, and Link will all be boasting the new rigging system. As for the eye patch files, I don't think I'll be able to get them back, but I will try my best, promise.

Hey everyone,

Sorry for kinda dropping out for awhile there. I was putting off all the stuff we had to do for moving to our new place, and then, in a panicked rush I had to get going and just could not find the time to update my journal.

Anyway, so, for those unaware we just moved into a new house, my family, me, and of course Gracie.

We are absolutely LOVING our new room, it's I would say just shy of twice the size of the old one, plus we have two more closets to play with. It's looking really great, but we're not just set yet, so it'l be awhile before we put up some pics. For those interested, keep your eyes on my blog.

With all that done, I have a lot of exciting ideas for new stuff to do, and, seeing as I now have some real space to use, I plan on getting back into my work on the Halo weapon props. I had a lot of fun doing that Battle Rifle, and I think up next I'm going to try the shotgun.

Most of my ideas are, of course, in the 3D realm. You'll notice I've been doing a lot more original 3D lately. I can't say really why, but lately I've had an itch to do more of my own stuff, rather than just the fan art I've done for varying games. That said, I've got one huge project many of you have known about for a long time, that I'm really going to try and get off the ground again, now that I have a computer that can really handle rendering it.

So, with all that said, I'm putting up another poll (seeing as this one's been up for what, 6 months now?

). I'm trying to generate a little more traffic to my site, and I want some input on how I can make it better. I'll have a few options up there, and at the same time, if you have suggestions, feel free to drop a comment here, or you can note me if you're shy. I promise, as long as its serious critique and not just stupid slams, I never take offense, nor do I ever get mad.

Howdy everyone!

Well, as is easily seen, I've put together a new journal. I decided the fixed width one was too much hassle for people to read (barely showed all the text on my firefox fullscreened on a 1680 X 1050 monitor) so I put this together.

I'm still in a bit of a creative rut with the 3D work I do. I just haven't had the itch to work on it, I apologize for not posting much. Mostly that has to do with the fact that the last week I had to work a 2nd job, helping my Dad out where he works since his boss took a vacation. I like the extra money, but it's hit my free time pretty hard.

Anyway, all that done, I'm gonna try my hardest to get something awesome planned out for my 20,000 pageview mark. It's fast approaching, I hope I can get something ready in time.

Also, I'm adding another area to my site, for projects. There I'll post updates on the big projects I'm working on, not individual deviations much, but more so my source maps, and a couple videos I'm planning out, as well as future large expansions to the site. Of course my website is 100% maintained by myself, so progress is slow, but steady.

While we're talking about my website, it's Media section is up, along with the Zelda: Twilight Princess Video I made a long while ago titled "Whispers in the Dark". It had just over 50,000 hits before youtube deleted it (fucking DCMA) and has now found a new home on my own personal site. And, since there's no advertising, no selling, no money making apparatus on that site at all, it falls well under fair use since I'm not making any profit off of it. The DCMA can suck a fat one for all I care.

OK, finally, commissions are indeed still open, I try to keep them open as much as possible despite my schedule. So as always, feel free to hit me up with an idea. See my commission F.A.Q. for details.

Oh, one more thing. A friend of mine has a baby on the way and is in need of moneyz. He's trying to unload a Bose surround sound system for some scratch, so anyone in the Colorado Springs area who is interested, hit him up. He's a good guy too, promise it's legit.

Sorry I kinda fell off on activity here. Me and Gracie have both had the week from hell, which unfortunately kinda offed my inspiration for the moment. RAWR!

Don't worry though, I've essentially "paused" my 3D work. No new projects, no dropped ones. Just kinda waiting here in limbo until I get my groove back.

For the moment I'm now knee deep in a web development project with a couple friends. That will likely eat a large portion of my next few days. Like I said though, I'm not dropping anything.

Because of

's recent deletion by the staff relating to him using the models from Twilight Princess, I've noted the helpdesk about my gallery. I don't want to post things and have it hanging over my head.

If they are indeed in violation I'm certain they will be removed, and quite honestly, I think that will be the end of my time here. I'll leave my contact information and whatnot here, and will likely still frequent the forums from time to time. But I'll not have my creativity stifled by copyrights and legalese whining. I'd understand if this was a new thing, but come on. My gallery has been up for over a year. Again, once I get it running on my site, I'll have a proper gallery with comment ability set up there with all my deviations there.

Unbelievable. Where is the DeviantArt I fell in love with? Where is the DeviantArt I met the love of my life on?

I think [link] must've been squatted or something, because this certainly isn't it.

Honestly, I've never been so furious about the internet before. I know I know, internet is srs bns. I don't care, this has me angry.

I don't even care about the policy violations, whatever, if you want that trash on your site Admins, more power to you. I'm angry that they've taken what was without a doubt my #1 favorite website (not counting the ones I run of course) and turned into this cesspool of fail.

Now Mixedpie is suspended? For what, dissenting opinions? Yeah she took it a little far no doubt in her news article but really, do you guys think deleting it like you're trying to hide it and suspending her to shut her up really makes you look good? Like you're doing something besides showing she's hitting the mark a little too close to home?

I'm not agreeing with most of the things she said, they were way over the top, and clearly because she was mad as all hell. But I honestly can't blame her. I'm not angry because if the policy violations. I'm angry because I love this site and Admins, you guys are taking it on the fast track to the internet graveyard!

I realize you guys manage an insane amount of content. Probably more than any single staff should need to monitor. But you gave us the reporting system because you knew you wouldn't catch it all, and most of our reporting goes ignored! Even when the violation of policy is so blatant it makes us sick!

I love this site, so much I can't express it. I don't want to see it turn into MySpace version three. Admins, I beg of you, save your website before you send all your real Artists packing and you're left with nothing but Naruto tracers.

For the first time through all this drama, I'm considering leaving. Or perhaps merely posting low resolution watermarked versions here and keeping the real ones to my own website. I don't want to, I love the networking opportunities your site gives me. I love meeting new friends and seeing their work. I love it so much, I don't want to see it reduced to digital ruin.

So, I'm not leaving. Yet. But if things don't start improving soon I don't think I'll have a choice.

Hey everyone.

For those unaware, dA has now made it officially A-OK to post traced art, not just of TV screencaps and the like, but of posted works right here on the site.

Now personally, I can't say I've had much of my work stolen. One or two here and there, quickly dealt with. But I'm sorry, something about this just doesn't read right. First off, tracing is NOT ART. I'm sorry, it isn't. Doodles of Sonic done in Paint have more artistic merit than a trace. But apparently dA really doesn't care anymore.

Still, it isn't my website, and isn't my decision. Frankly though I see less and less art on this website these days, and it's a sad thing. The legitimate artists are up and leaving, fed up with policies that do nothing to ensure they get even a shred of credit for their work, and Anime tracers and MySpace camwhores are lining up to take their place. Fine, again, not my website, not my problem.

Does this mean I'm done with dA? Absolutely not. I'll continue to post here as regularly as ever, until I'm the last artist here. I refuse to leave a website because of other users on it.

So yeah, just venting here.

Damn, it's been a month since my last entry. I'm slackin'.

So, dig it! The rollout of my new journal. I actually spent some decent time on this one too, probably why it turned out so much better. Anyway, dig it.

My tablet is now fully integrated into my setup, I plan on posting some pics of it soon. My desk has been re-arranged quite a bit, and I'm loving it.

Anyway, as evident by my last posting, I'm really trying to get back into sketching. I enjoy it a lot, and it's in most cases a LOT less work than 3D work of the same subject matter.

So, look for that.

Don't worry though, I've got a bruiser of a 3D deviation planned out. Classic Zelink, though the idea itself is quite...well, insane. Trust me, you'll love it.

The big deal right now is finishing off the last bits of my new website. All database driven, and a hell of a lot easier on my host. Overall, enlisting the help of a good freind, it's taken 2 months to develop and deploy. And we're not even done yet, though I will try my absolute hardest to get it fully operational by the end of January. I don't like having my site down any more than my dedicated fans do.

And I filed my taxes already, I've got just under $400 coming from the Government in the next week or so!

I've already put together a nice shopping list for newegg.com when I get it. Finally get to update my old ass rig!

In addition to that I've got $600 coming back from Fedex, though I have no idea when that's getting here. It's been a month since I sent in the request for tuition re-embursement. Freakin corporations. :shakefish:

So that's about all for now. Thanks go out to all my fans who've stuck with me, I know I've been slow on the deviations lately. Damn life. But I'm still here and I don't plan on going anywhere.

Hey everybody! Damn, I got a lotta news today.

First off, I has a brand new compy to play with!

This time around I got an HP TX2510 Tablet PC! I'm having soooooo much fun playing with it. In fact, I'm typing on it right now! And typo-ing like crazy. I have to get used to the smaller keyboard, this is only a 12 inch.

So yeah, now I have a touchscreen computer. I plan on doing a lot more 2D art now, and am debating starting a clone account for my 2D work. I was thinking "DarklordIID". Seems appropriate.

That's the big news. More news being I got a blu-ray player this Christmas! Due to schedule conflicts, we ended up opening some of our presents Monday night.

After that, I went to get an HDMI cable. $35 for a SIX FOOT CABLE!!! Yeah right, I'll order one off newegg.com for like $10 at most. I have no idea why HDMI cables are still so expensive. I'm guessing marketing BS. And there I go on a tangent again...

So, this is quite an adjustment for me. My last notebook was a 17 inch, this is a 12. Naturally, I'm typo-ing like crazy, and I can't keep my damn fingers off the touchpad. But I'm sure I'll live.

So lets see, what else...

I got a desktop expansion...thingy. Basically its a surge protector with some USB ports and a cool little drawer that you put under your monitor. After that, now my dualscreens are on the same eye-level.

I've also got one more Christmas deviation planned, we'll have to see how that pans out.

Sup everyone.

I've decided to re-rig all my Zelda models from scratch using the bipeds in 3ds Max. This will make them easier to pose realistically as well as animate them.

These I plan on keeping to myself (sorry everyone, but I'm being greedy

) but, I also plan on putting together a tutorial on rigging Midna with this method using the scratch extracted model.

Also, keep in mind I'm always looking for commissions. I do tons of things both on the computer and in actual prop work, so, even if you don't think I can help, note me anyway and we'll find out for sure.

Hai everyone!

Votes are in, damn clear what ya'll want from me. Zelda 3D art, who would've guessed.

In any case I'm a man of my word, I'll gear my projects toward that end as much as I can, though recently I've had an itch to work on my Hyrule Source mod.

I'm redoing it from scratch, but keeping the old. My only real problem right now is the damn thing is just too BIG for my poor little comp to handle. It runs fine in engine, but the compile times are murder, and editing is a pain with all the lag.

Anyway here's a shot of the new one, compiled in HDR. The castle overall is a bit less detailed, though frankly, I think I went a bit over the top with the last one. In any case I'm already zooming along with this, and I'm hopeful I'll be able to you know, FINISH this one.

In other news, my first commission slot is now open and I'm always looking for work, so let me know. I can do the Halo 3 props, as well as graphic design, web design, etc. Even if you're not sure, send me a note, I answer everyone, every time.

My Journal stuff is just about ready, probably deploy that in my next entry.

For now though, I just have too much shit going on to decide what to work on. So, I'd like to hear from you guys what you'd like me to finish sooner.

All my huge projects will be excluded since those require too much time to really bump to the front burner (I barely get deviations out as is

Damn, look at all this now. I finally gots me a subbie.

Which as to say I finally had money laying around that wasn't already spent. Damn thats a good feeling!

So yeah, been awhile. Deviations are slow, but my faithful readers will know why.

Anyway I'm still mastering the CSS here. I have lots of big ideas for my journal here, so stay tuned.

I'm also now trying to get more into the 2D arts, digital sketching specifically. As always, critiques are appreciated. Just be reasonable! I haven't sketched since I was 10!!

Moving on. My website ([link]) is getting a HUGE upgrade soon, and I mean HUGE. Huge enough, in fact, that in a couple days I'll be taking it offline for perhaps quite a while. So, if you want to grab downloads or pics, you best do it soon. But don't worry, I'm allowing myself an absolute MAXIMUM of a week of downtime. So worst case scenario, I'll get some barebones thing up in time to keep ya'll happy.

As to my life, job still kicks ass, and I am LOVING school this year. Having the classes teach useful things makes it a lot easier to pay attention.

My computer is finally all settled, have everything reinstalled and operating again. And no more ATI configuration software!!!

My job at Fedex is still going well, and still awesome.

Further, I'll be starting college this week!!!

So, with 3 days out of the week at school all day, and 5 days with mornings at Fedex, odds are decent I may not be able to post as many deviations as I'd like.

Not to mention recently I've been in kind of a creative slump anyway. I can't seem to get any ideas I like, and the projects I've got going lately just seem too monumental. I'm really too much of a big thinker for my own good.

The money situation over here is getting better though. Things are finally starting to chill, and I've got more money coming in to get my credit card payed down, plus buy books for school. My friend kyle is a lifesaver, since we have the same schedule he's letting me piggy back off his books for the first few weeks. So thats good.

So yeah, don't worry everyone, I'm still here, and I don't plan on going anywhere.

Also, if anyone has some ideas for deviations, feel free to let me know.

And of course I'm always looking for commissions.

Anyway, my computer is suffering from classic Windows problems (registry errors, broken bits of old programs, etc.) so I'm doing a format and reinstall of Windows over the next couple days.

I'm backing up all my current project files, all my deviations, etc. In my infinite wisdom I never partitioned my drive, so EVERYTHING must be backed up on external hard drives. And yes, I'll be making partitions this time.

So yeah, I may not be on a lot over the next day or so, don't worry, I'm being triple sure of everything before I do the format so I don't lose a thing.

I'm still enjoying my job at FedEx, and as predicted its cutting into my computer time. But I'll live.

I'm sorry about the lack of deviations lately (which, oddly enough, has nothing to do with FedEx), I've had sort of a creative block lately and just can't seem to get anything out. That Samus deviation took me around 5 hours just to concept. I'm not sure if I'm tired or what, but yeah. I hate creative block. -___-

Also, note for my watchers, you may or may not have noticed my "Care for a roll in the hay?" deviation was deleted by the DA admins. I'm not picking a fight or nothing, its their site to maintain, just never liked the way stuff just magically vanished here. What can I say, I like keeping my minions- ahem, watchers in the loop.

Of course recognizing this all future Ilia deviations (at least the copies and versions posted here) will be kept censored. I'm in an odd place. I think my reasoning of the subject was sound (mostly that she isn't real) but again, its not my website, and I can see how they would not want it here. So I'll just bow my hat and get on with things, no sense dwelling on it.

For those interested, I'm working on a more sophisticated gallery system for my own website to display my deviations, along with my other work, in an uncensored environment reserved for my watchers. I'll probably post more of that in the next journal.

In other news, I just got a new job working at a Fedex Ground shipping terminal. 3:30 to 7:00 every morning except Monday and Sunday. I fucking LOVE IT!

It's like getting paid to work out for 3.5 hours every morning with a guy chasing you with a whip. Very invigorating. Of course that cuts heavily into my usually unlimited computer time. But for 9.00 an hour, I'll live.

Lord knows you fools don't pay me.

Me and Grace

are over here getting all her stuff taken care of and packed away before our final move to Wisconsin. This is by a wide margin the farthest I've ever been from home, but shes helping me get through.

Needless to say I'm minus my main rig for another week or two, so don't count on any deviations.

Seeing as all I has is my laptop, I've been doing more software development. I'm working on a new website, as well as a program I call "Commission Manager". If I can make it work well enough, I'll be releasing it GPL along with the source code off my site. Don't know how far I'll get with that, but keep your eyes open.

Ahhh, what else...ah yes. Me and Gracie will be driving home from here (2,014 miles. @__@ ) and when I say Me and Gracie, I should be saying Me, because she doesn't have her license. 32 hours on the road. Fun fun fun.

Getting the car registered in Wisconsin was a little adventure in itself. We ended up Fedexing my parents the title and having them take it over and insure it an send everything back. Don't worry, all legal, just a serious pain in the ass and the wallet. Overnight shipping is 60 bucks! O_O

Add to it we're going to a wedding shes doing the florals for, which I'm sure will be so much fun

Don't get me wrong, I got nothing against the couple, but I hate weddings. -___- Boooooooooring. Fortunately its a small ceremony and I we might skip the reception. Then again there is free food...

Anyway yeah, everythings falling into place nicely. I have a couple commissions waiting for me when I get home, and I misses my big computer.

A good friend of mine got me involved in a partnership with him designing a web based application for a company in Seattle, he does the back end coding and I do the interface, and I get a cut of the profits, which should land me not only a substantial chunk of change, but provided things go well, he'd like to employ me in future ventures. So it should be beneficial to both of us.

I can't thank my good friend Grace

enough for all her support recently. She's become a very good friend to me, and our relationship is very special to me. I honestly don't know where I'd be without her. Love ya hun!

I'm still stinging a bit from that little fiasco with the Zelda models, but I think I'll be ready to finish the series soon. I hope you all understand, that really cut me deep, and I'll need some time to get back into the phase to do them.

I also have a meeting scheduled with another friend of mine, the President of the UWGB Gamers Club, to design their website, next Thursday. Thats volunteer work, but I don't mind.

On to things I need from you guys. Actually I've been quite short on ideas for deviations, if you've got any, feel free to pass em on. I'd also like to try getting more into trades and commissions so, again, feel free.

This new setup gives my primary display a native resolution of 1920 X 1080. Desktop rooooooooooom.......

Opening presents for the next 3 days at one home or another. Lots of new stuff.

Me and a friend are scratch building a new forum program for our website, ConservativeCore.com. Its likely to consume all my free time.

I'll do my best to make room for new works tho. I have a TON of ideas, and just not enough damn time to get them done.

I passed all my classes (History by literally 0.05 % of the grade...) so that turned out well.

Progress slowly drones on in my video project. God knows when I'll be finished, but I swear on my mothers grave that video WILL BE FINISHED someday.

With the current term coming to a close, I haven't been able to do nearly as much animation as I'd like. Last night we managed to get my polical discussion forum ([link]) migrated to a new host, and that was pretty much the highlight of the week. I'm cramming studying for nearly all my exams, not really because I didn't all term, but simply because I'm nervous as hell, and I'm sure you're already glimpsing by now that my mind is a complete mess right now.

So, whats going on then.

I've got a new Hyrule in the works, not the castle, but the entire surrounding area. Definitely the most complex Vue 6 scene I've ever done. SO far I've got 8 seperate terrain systems and at least 13 cloud layers. And I ain't even done yet. O_o

I'm also on the search for a good game engine, as I've got an idea for a cool first person shooter. If you know of one (free ones only please

) feel free to send me a note. Also, if you might be interested in joining the team, send me a note for that as well, and I'll give you more details about the project.

So what else....ahh, Christmas is coming. I've done some minimal shopping for some good friends. Nothing extravagant, a few games and some neat little things I know they'll enjoy. I'm hoping I get a new monitor, one of the 22" LCDs. Not betting on it, but hey, theres always hope.

Also, I'm working on face-posable Link, Zelda, and Midna. Hopefully I'll have those up soon.

Now the only data I lost was my music, which I'm restoring from my mp3 player right now. However I'm severely cramped on disk space, so I'll have to watch what I do with it.

Halo happened.

Yes, I've been playing Halo 3 nearly non-stop the last week or so. Haven't gotten a damn thing done, DA stuff or otherwise.

I've posted a review on my website, check it out if you're still on the fence about getting Halo 3.

The ending was absolutely spectacular. At first it was very sad, then it was happy, then it was sad. And yes, I cried. Sue me.

In other news, thanks to my college, I now have Vista Business running on my work computer. Also, a new patch allows my graphics-heavy programs to shut off the Aero interface when launched and turn it back on after I exit, so thats handy, since the visual elements of these programs interfere with Aero in rather destructive ways.

Anyways, I've got tons of new ideas, and I'm trying to cut down on my Halo, so I should have some new stuff posted soon.

GMod people: I don't know how to create ragdolls for GMod, or anything for GMod for that matter. I just play with it.

The rest of you who are looking for my models: These ARE the original models from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. They have been extracted along with their textures, and posted on several websites. Anyone savvy with google can find them, but here you are:

Now, when you get them, they're 3ds, and anyone who has ever used a 3ds file knows whats coming. There are a ton of broken vertices, smooth errors, and just genuinely weird little things wrong with them. However, some careful welding, and a little smoothing work, and you're there.

They are also not rigged. For those not inclined to 3D work, that means they are static meshes, incapable of movement. You'll need to build a skeleton of animation bones and skin the mesh appropriately. Thats hard, especially if you want it to look good. And as you can see on my Midna Pose Test, the cape isn't quite perfect yet. It takes a lot of finicking and tinkering to come out right.

Please, do not ask me to rig models for you. It's a hard process, and in my experience, it doesn't hold up through email files for some reason. There are tons of tutorials out there on rigging, pick one.

The textures are targa files with the opacity layer in the alpha. If your particular 3D program does not support the alpha layer, you'll have to import it into photoshop, rip out the alpha layer and export it to a new image, to be the opacity map.

Some issues:

The collection is incomplete. To my knowlege, Epona, the Master Sword, and the regular Sword are missing. Also, you're only getting props- items, characters. There is no level geometry or textures included.

Understand that some of these things weren't meant to be rendered outside the engine. You'll notice a few things, like Midna's God form, will not look like they should. You can probably simulate something close, but since Nintendo hasn't released their engine, tough luck.

Also, understand this is not my collection, and not my work. I claim no credit for them.

I ended up splitting up the model by the materials used (6 seperate files!) and importing them one by one, centering, and autosizing them by 0.5. Thus rebuilding it in the program. So now its in there, Mike 1, Computer 0.

I don't know why it struggles so, I always win.

So yes. I'm working on a much more advanced Hyrule Castle now, complete with walls and town.

Look for it in the next couple days.

First, the raw model had something like 2 of the same mesh with all the normals flipped (collision model maybe?

), and I didn't notice this until something like 5 hours of trying to delete the back-facing faces. After which I had a bunch of holes in her, so I reloaded the model, and tried again, and finally, I had a good raw mesh.

Next, the rigging. What a headache. I ended up creating 3 separate skins, one for Midna's body and the top of her cloak, then her cloak, and then the sort of half dress she has on the bottom.

Oy ve.

So now here I am. I'm doing the finishing touches on the rigging, and I plan on having something very special made by tomorrow morning.
