The mild trouble sleeping I mentioned in my last journal has escalated somewhat. I now find it exceptionally difficult to sleep, and even harder to wake up.

I've had a lot of walk these past two or so months, all coming together in the last 3 weeks. I haven't had much time for anything really...And it all came down to me practically crashing out over the weekend and messing up my entire sleep schedule by sleeping 20 hours in a row. Good times.

My internet appears to be working full time now. I only hope it stays this way.

On the 25th of October, beginning at midnight and ending at 0100, I performed the rituals of change upon myself, taking all I have gained and using it to renew myself once more. In the days approaching the ritual, I found great flaws within myself, the most prominent of which would be my deteriorating ability to empathise. To help people the way I used to.

Been ill for the last 3 days, I can't function without paracetamol to drop my fever and headache. Spent most of last night hallucinating about home. I kind of miss home :/

My loan came in- I'm above the water again, barely! I'm also in serious debt now, but I'll cover that later >,>. Also on the not so serious debt side, Scope, the charity, have put me into debt with my bank too. Love you guys <3 You scamps you.

I just gave a Â£625.00 check away. My rent plus a deposit. Tomorrow I've gotta post a letter to my bank too, giving away more of my hard earned (HA!) funds.

On the bright side, loud music, course starts tomorrow, going to rock out tonight as best I can. Positivity in bad situations rules.

Well to be honest I'm feeling pretty down today. Why? 'Cause today I saw my close knit group of friends for the last time 'til around Christmas when I return from uni. I'm packing things up, in less than 6 days I'll be up there, alone in a new environment.

I feel a startling mixture of excited and apprehensive. I've had a few strange dreams, including drowning in a comfortable sea of black.

Speaking of which I feel a deal darker in personality lately. Like I'm regaining a part of myself. With the call of winter I am calming down, breathing deeply and relaxing just that bit better. The winter's cold air is almost back...I feel as if she'll be visiting me soon.

Speaking of which, it'll be October soon...And up comes the dread associated with the month.

October is the month of disaster. For those of you who do not know, I'll list my October occurrences in order (most are thankfully on separate years).

1#: A dream in my youth predicts a terrible upheaval of the world around me on the 25th of October. It felt so real that it haunts me to this day.

2# (and less ridiculous): I get beaten about the head and neck and end up alone without a cold in the sub zero icy outdoors. I get hypothermia. Unfun events. People are dicks.

3#: During an MRI scan the doctor fails to place the IV in my vein properly- He misses and accidentally goes in through the side. Blood spurts everywhere 'cause he fucked everything up and he panics and runs out of the room flailing like an imbecile, leaving me alone bleeding for ten minutes before a nurse turns up and fixes everything. On a side note if I ever meet that guy I swear I'll bash his head into a fire extinguisher until he's a bloodied mess.

4#: My grandfather falls ill.

5#: I feel victim to an allergic reaction. Yay hospital!

6#: Same day as above, I get criticized by a friend for not telling them exclusively before everyone else that my grandfather was ill. I've had a terrible day. I tell them to go to hell and lose friendship with a good old friend permanently (or at least 'til this day.)

7#: My grandfather dies.

8#: Other random small tidbits, usually family arguments, people getting ill, me getting ill, etc...

SO long story long, October is a rather dooming experience every year. I emerge from each October a slightly different person it seems. Damn do I hope that nothing happens this year.

I'm sorry I haven't been about much lately, and that I've let myself become unsubscribed (I know, you guys think the cooler journal makes me cooler

Something feels...wrong. Off. I woke up this morning from a bizarre and pensive dream- but the second I put pen to paper to write it down it vanished from my mind...

I know that I barely wanted to wake up, I was learning something being there...I needed more information for something...

The dream I had just before that one was...even more bizarre...And a little scary to be honest.

In other news I've gotten over my initial shock over the letdown of Star Trek. I should've seen it coming, I mean, all new movies suck to me nowadays- that's just how things are.

Now I just need a cool movie to watch to set my mind straight.

Star trek, the movie. May it's like never stain our doors away.

...Although it's signed for two sequels. God dammit.

I had such high expectations, so many people of repute had offered it praise, but when I watched it...Definitely one of the most underdeveloped films I have ever watched. It left so much to be desired that I almost felt famished at the end of it.

The cast join together to create a complete mockery of the previous cast, and the director's attempts to pump the whole thing with dry, lifeless humour was completely lost on me.

The villain was barely explored, the core castmembers were lightly looked in on, and the whole movie had a "stargate atlantis last episode" rushed feeling that left a horrid bitter taste in my mouth.

I will die happy if I never see something of it's ilk again.

I'm on antibiotics for an infected tooth.

My today (probably yesterday by the time I post this journal) sucked majorly. Most other days this week were alright towards the ending half.

Things I have to do:

-Buy a new DA subscription.
-Buy train tickets
-Take RA3 back to the shop and demand a new copy.
-Put that new pendulum into my coat pocket so I don't forget it.
-Sleep all of sunday
-Eagerly await my wednesday payment.
-Avoid idiot drivers who cut off buses and then park there making me late for my train. Except replace avoid with murder.

So here I am with some good news- I didn't want to announce it earlier because to be honest I wasn't sure it would last, but it seems that things have settled long enough and I'm feeling fairly ontop of the world about it.

My internal bleeding, the scourge of my life, the quite literal thorn in my side for so many years, has finally come to a stop. My weight has equalled, and thus I am finally of normal weight rather than dangerously underweight!

I managed to figure out what the change I felt in myself was caused by. I am surprised I didn't discover it sooner, but then again I was feeling a little foggy. In the end, the change was both to be expected and slightly unavoidable. Now, I am back to my old self.

I feel as if something has changed within me. I cannot pinpoint the day on which this change occurred, nor what may have caused this change, but I do know that it was near instantaneous. I barely noticed it. I passed it off as a slip of the mind.

My birthday was met with the beginnings of an illness, thanks to a "friend" I won't name that happened to be staying with another friend I visited just prior to the day. I spent most of the second of January in bed with a hell of a sinus headache which left me in quite a delirious state, unable to concentrate for long periods of time.

I vanished again...

I've started to do things like this often. The urge to vanish reaches me and I disappear for a few days, getting out of this hell-hole and away from all the problems that are spawning here every day.

My father is still jobless, leaving my family considering drastic action to get out of debt, so that's harsh.

On a more positive note, I've been accepted into university by one of my options. As for the others, we'll see. I have an interview at a university on the 12th, to which I have to bring a portfolio.

That should most certainly be fun.

I have this kind of...numb feeling. I should generally be happy right now but I'm holding back in case things go wrong.

Well for those of you who don't already know, I decided a while back that I'd continue along the path of education, and why not? Seven days ago I finished writing up applications, and sent them off.

After that, I vanished.

Seven days later, and I am back home. Admittedly, I am a little edgy about whether I'm going to get accepted or not, but for now I am keeping most of my motives very secretive.

I have been feeling rather...Philosophical recently. Almost religious, in fact. I have been thinking a lot about life, death, and all that comes in-between.

(I know just who to blame for that, too.)

Why do people pray? Do they pray for hope? Do they pray for an answer? Is it a ritual, or do they consciously plan each instance? Do they see results?

Who can tell.

At the bottom of my journal I have a picture of a man who is probably dead. Do people pray for him? Does he even see people searching for him? Will he ever allow himself to be found?

So many questions, and all without answer.

You'll notice I've iced my journal out. It's just a temporary thing. I had some spare time. The colour reminded me a little of snow.

Just yesterday, I was trying to persuade a friend of mine to think positively. I was offering all the logic and wisdom I could construct, even to the point of irritating her, just for the chance to try to stave off despair and add a little hope.

When she described her full situation to me, it became harder to think on the positive side...When she described how the situation was affecting her I found myself analysing it, trying to determine how I would feel if I reached that particular level of despair. She has factors in her life that I am without, but thinking about it I finally decided that as things are now, it would not be possible.

Less than a day later, news just in. My situation has altered drastically. Suddenly the year between now and the possible (hopeful) activation of my plans seems like it may be one of significant hardship and turmoil.
Suddenly I am unsure how long things can endure.

And I found myself falling numb. And the numbness became an emotionless cold feeling, one felt by the perpetrator of my situation quite clearly...And one ignored.

And finally I understood. This is not a situation for positive thinking. This is not a situation for care.

This is a situation for blunt, emotionless progression regardless of the outcome. That's all that is left to me.

At around 2345 EST I stir. I'd fallen asleep watching the election, and it hadn't been looking good. I guess I'd seen the 8 next to McCain's name and the 3 next to Obama's as a bad sign...But I hadn't been able to keep my eyes open any longer.

However my headphones haven't slept completely off yet. All I need is the right kind of stimulus. Meanwhile, I'm dreaming.

I dream that Obama wins. I dream that I'm wrong, and things change for the better out in America, and thus out here. Who'd have thought?

At the words "-the land of the free", my eyes flicker open. Glancing at my monitor (cunningly tuned into Channel 7, with 3 "n"s for some reason.), I saw the election monitor spinning about. McCain's flickered a hundred and something, Obama's...

Three hundred and seventy something.

I was pretty tired, so I had to quickly go over it in my head. 270 to win, Obama has way over that, McCain not even that...

Landslide?!

My eyes opened a bit wider, struggling against sleep. A landslide? The opposite landslide to the one I predicted.

I must say, my faith in America was restored somewhat at that moment.

So just as I thought I'd escaped October unscathed, the 25th rolled by.

Actually it was a pretty awesome day. A friend of mine was staying over at my place, so on the dawn of the 25th we were shooting zombies, living it up, laughing at the insanity that is Outbreak 2. It was great- it's been a long, long, longlonglong long time since I've had the time to play games, and even longer since I've been able to hang out with a friend whilst doing it.

However, at 2300 on the 25th, after my friend had gone home and I had fallen into a tired slumber, I awoke shivering yet very, very hot.

Lo and behold, I had somehow contracted the norovirus!

So after a night of forcibly removing my own insides, being in a great deal of pain, and slowly becoming delirious over time, my reward was...

...An entire day of it!

...And an entire next day of it, but slightly better.

...And the next day a bit better than that.

And then yesterday which was pretty okay.

Long story short I'm still feeling the bite of it in my head. I feel like a chunk of my brain has been removed and I'm making deal without it.

But on the good news side, whilst tin my delirium I got a call: I have a job interview on Monday! Rock on, and all that jazz.

I've got two strong arms.

Well, the twelfth has past...And despite it being mid October, I feel great.

I feel better than great. In fact, I could sing. In fact, I've been singing for the last 40 minutes, which sucks for anyone trying to get to sleep in the next room!

Have you tasted that cold winter's air out there? Seen the beautiful full moon shining her glorious grace down onto us? Do you know what that means?

It's beautiful...So very beautiful.

From death, comes life. From life comes hope. From hope come dreams and from dreams come goals which we in turn hope and life for, until we die.

Ah, sorry, I can't seem to write this journal in one go. I keep being distracted by either by my own singing, or opportunities to take photos of the sky.

Anyway, I feel great. Better than great. I'm unsure what has changed, but I really do.

I suppose even October can be knocked back...

Welcome to my memory.

It's an old story, long torn from all minds but my own. The text are gone, scattered and lost... Every word has been erased. Almost every echo has been left to rot.

Nothing perseveres in holding this memory besides myself...Though if others do, perhaps they'd simply never speak of it. They'd keep it inside, as I have. As I will.

Today is the anniversary of a beginning. That year, so much changed...And I think, really, it all started right here. Today. From here I learned so much...

And lost so much.

It's natural, this time of year, for me to fall into depression...And though I hate feeling weak and hollow, this will not likely change. I am still here. It is still October, and today is still when it all started, whether I like it or not.

So today is my day to be selfish. Today is my day to be nothing but me for me. On this day and those following it I shall become cold until all those small anniversaries of large events are past.

Today I become the eclipse. Today I am that cold, that darkness that I fell into. Today I freeze, until once again I reach the day I lay alone in the ice, watching all that hateful human filth pass me by, refusing to acknowledge my existence as I lay before them.

For now there is nothing left of October for me. News

I awoke this morning in a cold sweat, my dreams fresh in my mind. Dreams of a place I would have loved to call home. A place I returned from in January.

I dreamt of Castelo Branco.

Bare in mind, this is like a nightmare for me. I have done all I can to cast out all memories of that place, as well as of the person I associate them with, but having that dream sent an impact through me. A ripple. I can't pretend it was pleasant.

But my heart was pounding when I woke. The dream had felt so exciting yet at the same time tinged with sorrow. That deep down knowledge that though I was dreaming about good times, they were times that have past, and that ended in sorrow.

My night was completely filled with nightmares. I woke at least six times in a cold sweat, and its left me rather reluctant to go to sleep now that the night has come again.

I feel exhausted, which is unsurprising considering how much I slept compared to how much I did today.

I awoke, sporting two bloody slits across my forehead. Both of them close, both of them curved, dripping the contents of my flesh down over my eye...

I remember no blow, no pain, no dance of death to lead to such a pair, but they bleed nonetheless...

I swear I can hear drums in my head. Constant drumming coupled with millions of questions and ideas, new thoughts and sensations perplexing my mind to the highest degree. At times I think things are so very easy for me to read, and then I find myself confused all over again, recalculating my ideas and repositioning my goals.

But I've done that so many times in the last week that I'm beginning to exhaust myself. I need a solid fact. Something solid that I may base my calculations around, otherwise I feel my mind could begin to slip away from me...

The pipe organ is so very beautiful to me as an instrument, and I find it sets me at peace to play it. Ever since I had that dream, that sudden point, I've been compelled to play...I remember keyboards there. I remember seeing them. It gave me the urge to play on and on, until I have a new song.

I shall speak of it again once it is done.

In other news, life has been going rather well, though with a large vat of curiosity thrown my way as well.

My brief spell of illness seems to be abating, but upon encountering an unusual feeling on the surface of my teeth and gums, I've decided (grudgingly) to go to the dentist. Ah, random expenses...

Either way, tomorrow I get to have gloved hands invade my mouth, likely to tell me that I'm fine and my teeth aren't falling out. Fun.

I found out today that one of my favourite teachers early high-school, Mrs Wrankmore, died sometime last month. Naturally, being that I was away so much during that time, I didn't get to hear the news until now, which sucks... Her memorial was today (I think).

Her husband, Mr Wrankmore, was also a favourite teacher of mine. I imagine he's taking this pretty hard...

I do hate missing out on a chance to say goodbye to someone who imparted such powerful knowledge onto me. I'm quite confident that she is part of the reason that I adore reading and writing literature as much as I do, but I, and everyone else who knew her, can smile knowing that she'll live on in every student she taught, and every life that she touched.

As the title states...There was no control. Looking back, the whole endeavour was a mistake. I've made so many mistakes...

Just say what kind of deviation you want (Options are: A Poem, A Short Story, A Photo-manipulation, or A Photograph. Also, Massive Overuse Of Capital Letters Here), and I'll create something. State a possible subject too- but bare in mind that some subjects are rather difficult. Don't ask me to take a photograph of a dragon. I don't want to die in burning screaming torment. Admittedly the thing bugging me most is my repeating dream. It's occurring every night, just like the old dream that used to repeat for me- but this one is less...diagnosable. This one seems to point to something completely outside of ascending from lower bounds, or gaining strength in myself... This is focused on other people.

I get the feeling that if I had understood the first dreams instead of overcoming them the way I did, I might be able to tell why it is how it is. I guess I'll have to write the old dream and this new one out sometime, just to see the opinions others have..
