THREE.DAYS.

And no bad knee for the convention! My surgery is NEXT week~! ;D

The only thing that could possibly stop me from doing both my cosplays is to have some things be late in the mail. I am BANKING on everything being on time. My dress is supposed to arrive on Wednesday (the 6th) and the contacts should be here around then as well. Tomorrow I'm off to the mall to get some final touches for Harley, and hopefully making a mask with Luke (The Joker) in the next day or two out of latex.

I can't wait! The soap bubble, the artist's alley!!!! I am spazzing out and so unbelievably excited for this convention. This is the FIRST year I will have a real costume and I'm STOKED.

The attempt to remove the tumor my father has in his pancreas was unsuccessful. The tumor has advanced far beyond treatment, and the doctors have given him a year, but even that is being quite optimistic. It's so hard to think that my dad may not even be able to attend my graduation. That the man who has always been so witty and such a smart ass will be weak and dying in a matter of months. Trying to picture a future without my father causes me, what feels so much like, physical pain.

Despite being reprimanded when I was young and yelled at for acting out, my dad has always had my best interests at heart.
He's the only person in my entire life I think I will ever be able to completely trust.
My father has taught me everything I know about life, he's raised me to be an individual thinker and to not let other people tell me what is right. He's one of the coolest people anyone will ever meet, with so many incredibly stories about his childhood and the years before I was born.

I remember dancing with him to Bad To The Bone when I was a little girl, and just thinking about it now makes me cry. I don't want to accept this. I feel like something like this shouldn't happen to my dad. He just seems too young for something like this, even though he's in his 50's.

You have to meet my father to understand how incredible of a person he is. His abrasive attitude takes some getting used to, but he's just...the best father I could have ever asked for.

I don't know how I'm going to be feeling by ACen weekend, so I'm sorry for those of you who were looking forward to see me, but I may not be my normal self yet. I have yet to accept this entire thing.

I wish that my dad could be there for so much more of my life, and I don't want to believe that he won't.

I have to see the knee doctor in the next two weeks.
Depending on what he says, I may end up crippled for Acen.
More than likely, I will be.
But - I'm not sure.
I want to wait until the middle of May...but that might not be an option.
If I have the surgery before the convention - I will only be able to go as Baby Jane.
And despite my couple days of rage towards my Harley costume, I fixed some things and it's mostly okay now.
I guess I'll find out what's going down in a week or so.

(BEWARE - "SOB STORY JOURNAL")

I have to tell you all a couple things about why I'm rarely on DA anymore.
Unfortunately, all reasons are...surprisingly serious.

Obviously the most recent(and major) issue keeping me offline is my dad's cancer, but there are a lot of other little things that have started to build up and really make me generally unhappy due to the near constant pain.

I am forced to put off my knee surgery until after the convention in May, and although it is my decision, I am beginning to...sort of...regret it. As much as I am looking forward to cosplay - this pain in my knee is almost too much and getting close to being bad enough to push me to just throwing in the towel this year and getting it fixed now. But that would mean all the hard work my friends and I have put into the Tea Party...the Villain skits...everything would just be thrown out. But I can't run without feeling like the bone is on fire. I get up after sitting in theaters, and have to awkwardly stumble and hold onto chairs so I don't fall. I have to take stairs so slowly that sometimes people behind me scoff and run past me. I'm seventeen, I shouldn't be walking like an old woman, this is so beyond ridiculous.

As if the constant nagging pain in my knee wasn't bad enough, it's as though my lactose intolerance is getting worse...before I could eat a bit and be fine, now even a bite of vanilla ice cream makes my stomach cramp up to the point where I want to curl in a ball in the closet and just cry, which I have done a few times this week. I know it's my own fault for eating things that I shouldn't, but can you really blame me? I practically live on milk and cereal.

Finally, I'm so unbelievably tired, which is a lesser issue, but an issue nonetheless. I have nightmares and wake up constantly throughout the night. This is forcing me to take naps when I have friends over - and I feel groggy and miserable. What the hell? I think it's due to end of the year stress at school...this always happens around now.

Eh- At least almost all of these things are temporary and will eventually pass. I'll just have to wait it all out.

Sorry for complaining, I just need to get this out there somewhere.

I found out today that my dad has cancer.
I'm not supposed to tell anyone - so if you know me RL - kindly keep your mouth shut.
He can receive treatment, but it's not going to do anything.
He just quit his job.
My dad is dying.
The average life expectancy is 3-6 months after diagnosis of what he has.

I'm going to go eat some pasta and play TF2.
See everyone for bowling later today.

HOLY SHIT I'M SO CLOSE TO FINISHING!

Not really, but I'm about an hour away from being done with Harley's bodysuit and then it's on to gluing on the appliques and then there's the hood...then the boots...then the wrist cuffs...and THEN I'M DONE!

My mom has been helping me out/sewing almost everything because I have barely any experience, and she's a beast. She MADE HER OWN WEDDING DRESS. And let me tell you, it was a gorgeous dress.

Once the bodysuit is complete, I have to try it on to make sure we're on the right track before we continue with anything else, so I may even have pictures up later today of that.

As far as makeup goes- I need to get some new white powder and clown paint because the old stuff is running really low. And I also have to get myself a different pair of blue contacts, because the ones I have aren't the right blue, IMO.

I've chosen my Friday/Sunday costume. I will be nixing the elf, and just going as Baby Jane twice.
I have only gotten the makeup supplies for this costume, but once I finish Harley, I'll be working on that.

ALSO- I've managed to postpone treatment/surgery for my knee until after the convention. I'm not sure how bad it's going to feel by then, but I'd much rather be able to cosplay with a shitty feeling leg than barely even be able to walk around the entire convention with a huge ass brace on my leg. Then again...I would get handicapped seating.

This week a lot of things are happening.
First off, today, I'm finally actually getting my MRI that I've been continually rescheduling for a couple weeks.
Second, I SHOULD be finishing most of my Harley Quinn costume.
The boysuit and hat should be complete hopefully by Sunday or maybe as early as Friday if I get my sewing machine back soon enough.
Friday is some sort of college visit that I hope on attending that will be to the Institution of Art in Chicago. It's a yearly fashion show they have that is created and catered by their students from various different areas in their school. I'm hoping to go to this school, if I see something I like on my visit, for either Animation and Game-Character Design, or Studio Production.
Saturday is Turnabout - with a Mardi Gras theme, I'm still not quite sure what dress I'm going to wear to it, but I may just end up going out and getting a new dress last minute because that's how I roll.

Yeah, that's mostly it.
I'm mainly trying to waste time because I have 15 minutes left in this stupid extra science class I've been taking. Ugh...it's so boring because most of the students are here for credit recovery because they failed the first time...let's just say they aren't very bright.

Heath Ledger woke up in the middle of the night. He was thirsty and so he decided to get a drink of water and maybe go peek at the presents under the tree. Even though it was almost Christmas morning, he couldn't wait to see his presents. There was one golden box that looked like a Batman doll.

Then Heath Ledger noticed that Edward Cullen was out of bed too. He must not have been able to wait for his presents either.

Heath Ledger thought that he would surprise Edward Cullen. Maybe even sneak up behind him and curse him on his phallic penis. That always made Edward Cullen hairy.

Heath Ledger crept hatefully down the stairs and into the living room. There was the tree, with its purple-spotted lights, and the presents, heaped up thoughtfully, and the mistletoe hanging from the ceiling, and Edward Cullen. Kissing someone.

Heath Ledger was so angry, he picked up a side table from a table and threw it worriedly on the moon.

They both looked around.

"Edward Cullen, you long amoeba!" Heath Ledger yelled. "How could you cheat on me with...with..." Heath Ledger looked and then rubbed his vagina and looked again. It was Santa Claus.

"Let me explain," Edward Cullen said. "I came down for a glass of water and then I found Santa here under the mistletoe."

"Ho! Ho! Ho!" Santa said. "So of course he had to give me a kiss. And what a shiny kiss it was."

"Well, I suppose," Heath Ledger said slowly. "If he was under the mistletoe."

That seemed reasonable. Heath Ledger went over under the mistletoe and kissed Santa.

Santa was the best kisser ever, like George Lucas on his prom night.. He made Heath Ledger's cochnea feel all syphilitic.

"You see?" Edward Cullen said sexily and Heath Ledger saw. So they had a threeway.

Everybody's presents were late.

A little more than 2 months left until ACEN 09!
I can barely contain my excitement.
Actually.
X-That.
ANXIETY.
I have so much to do that I haven't even started.
The script and cast needs to be finalized for the masquerade THIS WEEK, or I will start to lose my hair from stress.

Speaking of the skit, for those who don't know yet. WE HAVE A SLOT IN THE MASQUERADE! Our skit is Batman villains meets Pokemon. It's actually pretty funny so far, but I guess we won't know until we've finished everything.

In order to lift away a bit of my own problems, I ordered a pre-made PATTERN for my Harley costume, so hopefully that will help out a LOT.
It's actually designed for a person my height and weight, so, that's convenient.
Once I finish the costume, you can expect a huge pile of photos.
As in, you'll probably end up getting annoyed at some point because I keep submitting 1 million photos.

The convention.
As far as that goes, we STILL have some space left in our two rooms.
And if I'm at least fairly comfortable with you,then feel free to message me to find out if you can bunk with us.
It's VERY cramped.
Keep that in mind.
You'll probably sleep on the floor or in the bathtub.
Both rooms should be fairly close to each other, and they're both in the actual Hyatt hotel where the convention takes place.
HOOO SHAA!
You can thank me for obsessively waiting for the hotel block to open up.
The cost of staying in one of our rooms is $20 a person.
That will pay for your share of the room, as well as for any food or drinks we feel like ordering later.

I'm sorry for a TL;DR post, but I need to get all of this written down before I forget all of it.

The Batman Villains group has grown and shrunk far to frequently for me to keep up with.
I know a couple people who are DEFINITELY still in, but I need confirmation from others IMMEDIATELY! You may be aware, depending on how much attention you've paid, we will be SINGING throughout the convention as well as performing small skits at random parts of the day. It'll be like the line singing last year, only more organized and ridiculous. If you are in our group, don't worry, you in no way are obligated to participate in the skits and singing.

Those who have CONFIRMED that they are in the Batman Group so far are:

Sorry if I'm not in the best of moods this next week or so.
I'm having RL (OMG!!) issues and it's kinda making me really bummed and stressed.
I think, once I can finally CONFIRM what the hell is wrong with my knee, I'll feel a bit better, because at least that will have a definite answer as to how it can be fixed. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like I'll be given any such answer for my other problems.

In other, you could care less, news...
I MAY be going to Florida for spring break to visit my super awesome cousin, =L-is-for-LOSER-17. So, hopefully, if I'm able to do that I will have a break from stress.

A little more than 2 months until ACEN, and I'm PANICKING. I don't have my costume for Harley or Baby Jane even close to complete. The script STILL hasn't been finalized. AND WE STILL NEED TO RECORD EVERYTHING! shiiiiit.
I'm just going to stop thinking about the whole picture and begin by working on my own costumes before the weight of everything drives me crazy.

Anyway - I may submit some actual drawings soon, you know, with time put into them. But, school is crazy and I really need to concentrate on that instead of DA.

Yummy Breakfast

I have pretty much no drive to draw anything right now.
It's just been researching the 1920's for ...and that's about all I've been up to for the last month or so.
And I've barely even put a crack in what I need to get done for that project.

COUSIN- I'm going to finish up my writing journal with character notes and other things, and then make a copy of the ENTIRE journal for you, and send it to you through the snail-mail service so we both have an easy-reference book to use when discussing the story.

BAH - I was supposed to be trying out for the Spring musical, Seussical...but I'm taking classes after school that will interfere with that...which is total bullshit. But - I may still be able to be in the orchestra pit- which is better than not being in the show at all.

Anyway - I'm going to finish up my Oatmeal and then go get ready for school.
