The main thing I'm working on right now is something I'm calling the Elder Saga. It's a pretty huge story and I've just barely started doing character designs. When I say it's a huge story, I'm not joking. It's really ambitious, and I'd really like to do it and get it out there. I've been practicing with my art in Sai and I think I've gotten somewhere a little bit. So over the next few days I'll be doing up characters from it so that you guys can see them. I've been working on a superhero-style webcomic. I've actually finished the pencils of the first part (of three) of the prequel comic that kind of explains how the powers got to Earth in the first place.

The main characters' powers have all been decided. But here's the thing: all the powers have a weakness that makes actual sense. For example, there's a flying brick who doesn't have superspeed. He can still fly, but only as fast as he can actually run. The others, I'm having trouble with. I'll post some of them so you can help me out.

I went to the comic shop today to try and get a job (and buy some comics.). I picked a copy of Invincible and Ultimate Spider-Man so I could have another legitimate reason to be in there. The guy who was usually there wasn't, so I talked to the guy filling in.

Step I: I start with a light, H pencil to draw the figures on the paper. I do this lightly in order to erase mistakes easily.

Step II: After I draw complete the figure drawings, I take a darker pencil (usually an HB, B, or darker) and make the lines darker.

Step III: Going backwards from the foremost figure, I use a lighter pencil (8B downwards, but never lighter than H) to go over backgrounds. This is usually were I stop.

Step IV: If I feel like making the art look more professional, I use black ink Faber-Castell drawing pens to go over the pencil lines.

Man, I have been working on this forever. It's gone through so many changes, and the characters have been altered so much it's mind-boggling. But I've finally settled on something I like, I've started writing for it (check my gallery), and the characters aren't gonna be changed anytime soon.

What can I say? The movie lived up to the hype. Edgar Wright and the gang got everything right. There were some changes, yes, but really, there are always gonna be changes in comic book movies. The breakup between Ramona and Scott was more natural (I mean, come on, you snap at your girl too if you had to kill her seven evil exes) and Knives emulated Ramona more in order to get Scott's attention (in addition to dating Young Neil). Some more changes I liked were The Power of Self-Respect (purple flames? Anyway, the idea was that there were these gamers, and one of them gets possessed by a demon, thus becoming a Lv.1 Necromancer (the rest become a Lv.1 Monk and Lv.1 Thunder Mage) and turning their lives into an RPG. I guess it's sort of like a LARP session, just with actual magic and stuff. I'm thinking of calling it Level Up, due to the Necromancer shouting, "DING! LEVEL UP!" when he...y'know...levels up.

The premise is that there is this world (sort of steampunk) with monks and magic and airships and blah de blah. So, my idea is that there is this villain, very powerful, with an army and fleet of airships and everything you'd expect from a bad guy, who is threatening to take over the world. There is this prophecy about the Chosen One, someone who will gain immense power, enough to defeat this scourge.
