I know it's a pain in the ass to try to read anything from a computer monitor. It's very hard on the eyes, at least. I am very grateful to those of you who did.

Being recognized as a writer on this site is not something that is impossible, but it's very difficult, and those who are truly successful might find that they are thrown into some sort of popularity contest, where they are faving and commenting on something that they don't care about, if they even read it in it's entirety. My hope was to get honest feedback and opinions, though the comments of "nice" and such were good for the ego.

Anyway, this is turning out to be longer than intended, so I will get to the point. If any of you would like to add my main account feel free to do so. I'll at least be watching a few of you from there, but I won't be posting my literature works here anymore. What is here will be kept in storage just in case I need it. Always good to have backups, isn't it?

We've welcome a new member to our family, the cutest little Welsh Corgi that I have ever met. He's also the only Corgi that I have ever met, but I'm sure that I would stand by my opinion even after meeting other Corgis. Seriously, he's an absolute doll, and he's already made his place in the home. He's a cute little jerk, just like my ferrets. It's like I can't go into a petstore and come out with a normal, sweet little animal. No, I have to go in and get the most insane pet in the place. Here he is-



He was actually a gift for my sister and mom. I feel like I've mentioned this before. Maybe not in this journal, though. I haven't read the one before this. Anyway, I am house hunting, and he won't be joining me at the new place, rather regretfully. But two Cockabeas by the names of Jet and Angela will. I will also be taking in a lovely Norwegian Forest Cat.



Yesterday, I went to see Apocalyptica. If anyone is interested in seeing the shots from the show, just leave a comment and I will be sure to add thumbs to the journal or direct you to them, depending on how lazy I feel.

And it's already starting off pretty gay. Over the weekend, I bought the cutest little Welsh Corgi for my sister and brother. He's not my puppy, but he seems to think that he is because he follows me everywhere and he comes to find me every morning. So he did this morning, but before he could get too far, my sister came and snagged him. That was the last thing I remember before waking up to realize that it was 7:57 and I needed to be leaving soon for work! My cell phone alarm didn't go off at all, even though I set it last night! But luckily, I got myself dressed and out the door in record time.

So I am still house hunting and trying (while mostly failing) to save up some cash. I could type forever and a day about the chick that recently screwed us over, but I won't. I don't want her for a landlord anyway.

In other news, I have hit a sort of block in writing. I got maybe a half of a page one day last week, but that's been it for a while. I hope it doesn't last.

So now here it is, April 16th. I never got any shipping confirmation from the guy on the guitar, but I figured it would be alright. Finally, I decided to mail him yesterday all like, "Where is the shipping information?!" I got the reply this morning. He never knew that the payment was processed and so the guitar was never shipped!

It's been eight whole days since the thing cleared and he never knew it!! So now I have to wait anywhere from 1 to 6 business days on top of the eight days I have waited. I feel like Ilmarinen must have felt when he was trying to make a wife out of Louhi's daughter.

I made a recent purchase on eBay that I can't wait to get my hands on. The problem begins with the seller, who decided that he wanted to have his purchasers go through a lot of trouble to have their address verified. So it wasn't good enough that Paypal have access to my bank information. No! They want me to add credit card information as well. The problem was that I couldn't get them to take my credit card information! So after finally figuring out that my credit card info was somehow on my sister's account, I finally sent off the payment only for them to tell me that it was going to take 5 days to process! Joy!

Well, today is the day that the purchase should have been cleared, but it hasn't been. My bank has cleared the transaction and the money has been taken from my account, but Paypal just hasn't gotten the message. Clear the purchase already!!!

Yea, I'm a frustrated being when you add up the out of nowhere sickness, this Paypal thing, and all of the other fun bullshit that comes along with being an adult and paying bills. God, I just want to be 16 again! Then again, no I don't. My parents were overly strict and controlling. I just can't win!

In other news, I am considering the idea of taking my major works down from this account. The reason being that I wish to publish them someday, and I don't really feel confident in dA's ability to protect my work from thieves. Not that I think anyone would bother to steal any of my stuff, but you never know who is reading what.

At this moment, I have been informed that Dani Filth cut his hair. I'm rather nervously awaiting a visual confirmation from the source, with butterflies in my stomach as though him having a haircut is going to affect something major in my life. Dear lord.

While we wait, I have decided that this week's Gay Tuesday should take place in the Ghetto Hot Tub. So any contributions to this will be greatly appreciated. One of the things we need most is people to take turns blowing bubbles in the water with a straw. Yea, I did say this was the Ghetto Hot Tub, didn't I? What did you expect, luxury? No. This hot tub is actually a kiddie pool filled with hot water and the bubbles are generously donated by whoever volunteers to blow into the aforementioned straw.

Well, it's not as bad as I predicted, but it's certainly not flattering. [link] Not so much. Maybe it will grow back.

I was sitting here, playing that game when I got a call from Mom. Come to find out, my nosey neighbor, who works for the city, had decided that he would put a tow sticker on my car. Now just Saturday, we were out there with Max trying to figure out why my Lemmy won't start. I believe that there's a problem with the alternator. Other than that, the car has been moved from it's spot several times, but I suppose since it doesn't move as often as nosey neighbor+ the city of Dallas thinks it should, and because it has a little accident damage, this is grounds to try and impound it. Screw that noise!

My sister and I were already stressed about so many things, and discussing what to do about Lemmy (she's the co-owner) led into a heated argument in which feelings were hurt. I was so upset by something she said out of anger that I ended up leaving in a fury. I had to go anyway to see about the car, but of course I made sure to tell someone in charge here what was going on.

Naturally, no amount of praying and affectionate talk to Lemmy would get him started. This is real life, after all, and cars don't start just because you tell them that you love them. The irony of it all is that he stopped turning over the day before he was supposed to go to the mechanic. Isn't that wilder than Alexi Laiho after a six pack?!

So that was my free rape Tuesday.

Anyway, my life since last update has had it's ups and downs including a death in the family, three birthdays to celebrate, my parents nearly divorcing, getting a writing project at work only to find out that I'm not needed after all, and finding out that I was right about a few issues that I had raised. Depending on how you look at things, I guess that's a lot of negative, but I keep moving forward. Things will get better in their own time, and I can't say that they're all bad right now. It's been a balance, actually.

At the recommendation of my dear friend I started to read The Kalevala. I'm really enjoying it so far, and I'll be enjoying it for a while. The book is about as thick as a small dictionary or a bible, but it's an epic poem, so I guess it's really not as thick as it looks. We'll see.

This morning is being gay, indeed. My MSN part of my messenger won't sign in...boo! And here we have those lovely steakhouse people below us, still banging away and making all of the noise that they possibly can. I guess they've gotten rid of their rats though.

Last night, I installed a new power supply unit and video card. Now I have no sound on my PC! I seriously tried everything that I could think of. The video card looks lovely. Plays the Sims and does everything in a snap, but I need my music! All I get is this weird feed back noise that I'm guessing is either from my card or from the new PSU unit. This is so gay!

So I'm going to be ordering a Sound Blaster card here in a minute. In the meantime, if anyone can think of any ways to fix this, that would be great.

It's looking to be a gay Tuesday, but not in a very good way!

The first floor of our building has been bought out by people who want to open a steakhouse. It feels like they're stading under me and banging on the ceiling with sledgehammers. It's so distracting. -_-

Yesterday, whenever you went downstairs, you would be met with the most horrid smell ever. It was like a very unclean petshop. When I remarked about it, Nick said that it's possible that they've found a rat's nest, and the fact that there are puddles everywhere is making it worse. They've completely walled us off from their work area, but you can still smell it, as well as see what they're doing through various windows. How gross.

Welp, I've got three minutes before I have to get back to work. I just wanted to wish you all a happy Tuesday. I hope your Tuesday is really gay!

But the good news is that the sea testers have been getting their raep on since Monday. We came in to find a couple of them swimming all stuck together. Accordiing to a site that we looked this up on, they can remain this way for up to two weeks. That, my friends, is a lot of secks!

What else? I got a 3 month subscription for my account, and I've been debating on getting one for this one as well. Maybe I will. We'll see what happens. I don't know that it's really worth it for a writing account.

Finally, I would like to say Rest In Peace to Mr. Heath Ledger. It's an outrage that those bigots known as the Phelphs family would dare to try and go to his funeral to picket it. However, the bigger outrage is that this man had to die so young in the first place. In the end, Heath was trying to get some sleep. I hate the idea of it being eternal, but at least he has found relief from the tortures that he was going through. Heath, we'll most certainly miss you. For certain, the next time that I watch Lords of Dogtown or another of your movies, it will be a bitter sweet experience.

So a few weeks ago, my sister started a batch of sea monkies that she keeps on her desk. Everyone calls them "Sea Testers". The Sea Testers are slutty little devils! Not only did they get bigger, but there's a third generation in there. Yes, THIRD! They weren't even fully grown before they started to get it on or whatever it is that sea monkies do when they reproduce.

Over the weekend, my littlest brother had the pleasure of meeting Shawnie Smith (Amanda of Saw fame). So now he has a famous girlfriend. He played the shy, cute little boy routine and she just ate it up. She absolutely loved hm. I wasn't at the comic convention that this happened at, but I'm told that she made sure to say goodbye and give him a hug before he left. "Bye, Aj!" She signed his picture, "To Aj, shy but not scared." referring to the fact that he was not too scared to watch Saw. How cute.

1. Stop smoking. It's not good for me. It's not good for my teeth. It's not good for the people around me. I should have never began, but now I'll seize the power to quit. We'll see how long it lasts.

2. Eat healthier and less!/Exercise People keep saying to me that I'm not fat. I could be fine with that, but really I would be happier if I lost a few pounds. Don't mistake it. I'm doing this for the right reason. That is, I'm not trying to impress anyone or win over a member of the opposite sex. I'm doing it for me.

3. Save I'm not too bad with spending, but it could be better. The start of that will be that I won't be eating at all of the cool, yet expensive restaurants for lunch anymore. It's going to be a tough one, but I think my wallet will be thankful.

Well, that's all I can think of for now without getting too personal. I hope that this year brings happiness for you all. In my case, the last month or so leading up to the end of the year were hard, but I came to a few realizations that seem to make up for it. Here's wishing you the best, love, and raep!

I got my internet back yesterday, but I wanted to wait until today to make a journal about it. Yesterday was loads of fun. We had a few "Extended" family members over to watch this Amon Amarth dvd that I bought at their last show, had a few shots of whiskey, and then shot the shit until twelve, when we opened presents.

I got a new camera! The old one has had it, and is now in QA as an emergency capture device for testing our Nintendo DS games. That one was 4.1 MP. This is 5.0. A small step up. Really, I would have wanted six or above, but it was a gift and so I will use it with love. I also got a much needed book shelf, jewelry, a printer for the camera, Pirates of the Caribbean AWE, Follow that Bird (as a joke gift, lmao) some pretty cool boots, new Pjs, a bathrobe, lip gloss, bath stuff, a memory card, a case for my camera, and...I think that's everything. I got a few things this year. Everyone was so sweet.

Oh and I can't forget to mention that I won a pair of speakers in a raffle at the employee Christmas party and then I got a bottle of Jack Daniels from the White Elephant we had. Very nice. I'm having a great Christmas in spite of all I had to go through to get here. I hope that you all can say the same.

A funny thing that happened with one of the Christmas gifts that I bought. My brother, sister, and I chipped in together and got my dad a pool table with ball return, BUT, it was too heavy for the car we were taking. So we had to call him to load it up in his van, which of course means that he knew what he got. To remedy this, we told him to act like he didn't know what it was. This somehow ended up with everyone calling it a dining table. Good times. Even more were had when my sister and I decided to play with some of that Playdoh stuff. We sat there for like half an hour. She made all of the "food" and I made all the plate, fork, knife, and spoon. Yes, there's pictures. I'll throw them in scraps.

Last Tuesday, I forgot my phone at home, and so I wasn't able to text my favorite Finn to wish him a good raping. So I did it on Thursday. He said, "It's great to be raped on this day of Finnish Independence." How nice! A good holiday for him.

It doesn't even feel like the holiday season here in Dallas. Instead of snowing, it's raining. Even though it was biting cold yesterday, today feels like early spring. I still don't get it, but that's Texas weather for you. We have no choice but to plan outfits according to the weather reports.

Looking at my calendar, I also note that Christmas falls on a Tuesday. Well, well, well. Christmas rape, anyone? I should say that my wallet has already been through that.

Other than that, not much to report. I'm hoping to get another chapter of Queen of the Midnight Sun going. Something about the winter season really gets me into that story. Maybe because it is set in a place with especially long and cold winters. I'll be getting to that, and hopefully more Starchild soon. That already has about three pages done.

There´s not much to report on this glorious day of friend-molesting. I did manage to finish something before the end of the weekend, and so I rewarded myself quite well. Then I managed to finish chapter 3 of Starchild last night, which was promptly sent off to because her boss would rather shoot her in the face than let her get on dA during work. So for the two people who have any clue of who she is, that´s why she hasn´t been around.

Interestingly, I´m typing this entry with my operating system set to Dutch. It´s been quite a chore trying to figure out which keys do what, but I think I have the system down for the most part. We´re localizing one of our games, and what that means is that we have to be sure that everything works for all of the different languages that the game has been translated to. Whenever we get a new build of the game, I´ll be testing it in Swedish. What´s fun about that is the QA lead was all excited about me testing it in Swedish. Weird things happen here. So like what are these little symbols ±± Anyone speak Dutch? The question mark is where the hyphen is and the hyphen is where the question mark is. This is just a small sample of the fun I´m having right now. I also drew Mjollnir or Mjoelnir or whichever dialect you choose to spell it with. It´s on the white board.

Anyway, I hope you all had a great holiday. My folks and two of my siblings are out of town visiting relatives, so I had to pretty much do the cooking here. My mom made a turkey, which was incidentally the best turkey she's ever made, but she doesn't know that because she was in Georgia when we ate it. We saved that for Thursday and had a small party on Wednesday. Now I'm sitting here with three windows of Microsoft word open; Chapter 3 of Starchild, Chapter 36 of Queen of the Midnight Sun, and Chapter 5 of A Son's Thoughts. But then I have a notebook in my lap where I am writing a part of Chapter 2 of Ever Dream. Trust me, this is working out for me. The system might go slower than someone writing only one chapter, but I find that when I work in this strange way, I get more done.

If I finish something by the end of this vacation, I'm gonna get myself a present. Don't know what yet. We'll see.

I did finish something, and I rewarded myself well! I got Amon Amarth's Wrath of the Norsemen DVD, a hoodie, and a wall flag. The latter is now signed by Johan Hegg. I would have waited around for the others, most particularly my darling Ted Lundstrom, however it was just too cold and rainy.

Visually, it was stunning. As a person that is in love with 3D art and animation, the trailers alone made me positive that I was going to see this movie. As for the story, I felt it could have been a little more...epic, for lack of a better word. There wasn't as much fighting as I would have expected, but that's alright. It's still a very interesting story about greed, dishonesty, loyalty, and love. I have this strange urge to fill a drinking horn with mead and sing at the top of my lungs. This a very interesting after-effect of the movie, and that is awwwright!

So would I pay eight bucks to see it again? Probably not, but this is because I have grown used to getting free or at least dirt cheap movies, thanks to my sister's Blockbuster connection. I would buy it for my own personal collection and watch it over and over again. It makes me want to write more Queen of the Midnight Sun, which I consider a very good thing. I always say that if a story makes me want to write, it's done a good job.

Now speaking of writing, I would like to take this time to wish good luck to and . They're both working hard and possibly losing sanity as they try to hit the goal for NaNoWriMo [link] Maybe I'll not procrastinate and actually participate next year. In the mean time, I wish the best for these two, who are really great writers. <3

And finally, I had a lot of free time this week at work, but I really took advantage of it yesterday. I'm sure that I have at least three pages for Chapter 3 of Starchild. I pretty much know exactly what will be going on in this chapter, so writing it shouldn't take long. I'm doing the whole being focused thing. Let's see how that goes.

Yes, another free rape Tuesday is upon us. I don't think I've ever explained it, though. You see, there is a friend of mine who started to say that he was only gay on Tuesdays. I really don't remember how or why it started, but Tuesday became this big thing where people "did" things they normally wouldn't do. These are always questionable things that would happen only on Tuesday. Of course, there is no actual raping on Free Rape Tuesday. It's just a bunch of friends who will only "Rape" each other. I hope that makes sense, but it probably doesn't.

Wow, I just found out that I left my MSN messenger going all night long. That could have been bad.

This weekend was slightly productive, though I have yet to top that one where I got like two revisions done. Yesterday, I wrote a few paragraphs of Starchild by hand, but then I started this all new mini-project. That should only take one or two postings, though, and I'm pretty much halfway through it already. I also need to get back to researching for my planned non-fictional work. I had almost forgotten it.

Anyway, I have been sick. I kind of still am, but not in the almost debilitating (exagerration alert) way that I was up until about Saturday afternoonish. Until Friday afternoon, when I got anti-biotics, I was running a very high fever almost constantly, shivering, and otherwise thinking that I was going to die. Now there's only this pesky cough to deal with. Most of that time was spent either in bed or working in Photoshop. I didn't have the wits about me to write much of anything at all. But I did work some Saturday and Sunday, as I have mentioned.

So on to Halloween. I have no idea what I'm going to be. My plan was to go and get a costume over the weekend, but I was still pretty weak and didn't feel much like going anywhere. I was barely eating at that point, and I'm still just nitpicking. I figure that with some of those fangs you can slip on over your teeth, I can just wear pretty much anything that I would to The Church. The problem is finding some of those since the costume shop closes at seven. I would just be getting to it at that time, unless I can manage to call them, tell them that I would be in late and that I only want that one thing and can they hold it for me. That MIGHT work out. I'll let you know how that works out for me.

Well, it's about time that I get on to work. The problem with that is I haven't been here since Wednesday, and so I have no idea of what's going on! Aha! I guess I will be finding out in another ten minutes or so here. In the meantime, I guess I will be looking over what I have written in my notebook so far on Starchild. See where that goes.

I'm not sure why I thought that Ricola would taste any good, but it doesn't. Neither does Chamomile tea. It tastes like fungus. Our free lunch was pizza, and I don't know if it's just me, but now I have this nasty taste in my throat. Someone shoot me.

But at least I can take the first available train home and I don't have to wait for a bus. The heat in my car is really toasty. It's nice.

So when I get home, hopefully I will be alive enough to work on moar Starchild and/or possibly revising another chapter of A Son's Thoughts. Or I might just Photoshoop da Whoop. Or, I might just take lots of medicine and pass out. The future is so unpredictable.

Well, apparently if you hit a certain sequence of keys, you can post a journal with nothing in it. It keeps happening to me, and I hope to figure out the mechanics of it soon so that I can stop it!

Anyway, I believe that my addiction of Photoshop is waning a bit so that I'm writing like a fiend lately. Right now, I'm working on the second chapter of Starchild. I'm up to 9 pages now, and I'm happy with the way it's going, though I wish I had more hours in a day to work on it. Maybe I need to get hurt or something.

I also recently bought a car, my very first actually since my parents couldn't really afford to buy me one. I wish that I could say this means no more taking the train, as I am less than amused with Dart's service these days. However, there's a few things that need to be worked on before I can drive it. Most notably right now is the fact that I
need a fuse for the gages, otherwise I won't know how fast I'm going or how much gas I have. Another problem is going to replacing my front tires, though that issue is probably minor. It can still be driven safely with the ones on there now, but new tires will make the ride smoother. Then there is the problem of my canvass top leaking when there's too much rain. I have a 94 Chrystler LeBaron. [link]

Right now the rain isn't too much of a problem, but it's something to look into in case I'm driving in a lot of rain. This is not something that will affect driving it, though.

What an interesting dinner that would be! Timo and Yngve would probably start drinking and singing old folk songs while Elizabeth would sit there all uncomfortable like. Timo would suggest that they go to the pizza joint. Elizabeth would agree with that, and Yngve would like it as well.

08) 3 (Seohnkki) challenges 10 (Kellie) to a duel. What happens?
Seohnkki wouldn't be challenging anyone to a duel.

He'd whine and whine until he got on her nerves. Then she'd just throw it at his head to get rid of him.

Timo already has what he most desires. He's in a successful band with his best friend, he's getting married, and he has a daughter later in the story. Elizabeth's story would probably have a Nightwish inspired title, and it would be about her getting Martin to stop cheating on her with her twin sister.

11) What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 (Pekka) and 1 (Rayen) to work together?
Pekka would fall asleep after reading Queen of the Midnight Sun, and he would dream of himself in that world, in which he would fit right in since he and Yngve have a similar heritage (Finn and Swede for Pekka. Finn, Swede, and Nord for Yngve). It would be like meeting his ancestors.

12) If 7 (Timo) visited you for the weekend, how would you get along?
Great! I'd take him out drinking and to a couple of shows. Then we'd sit around listening to Finntroll, Dark Tranquillity, and Blind Guardian.

Create a new world just for me so that I can escape this one.

The way that I plan to write this is going to be a little different than what I am used to. For one thing, each chapter will have sections instead of being a straight on chapter, if I make sense. This way I can get in many points of views and have several things happening in one chapter instead of focusing on a few single things and having to introduce a new scenario in a totally separate chapter. Gosh, I hope that makes sense. For a writer, I am terrible at explaining myself sometimes. I'm also bad at telling stories aloud. It's amusing. Never ask me to tell you what happened in a certain situation. I'll confuse you.

Anyway, I hope that you all like it and that I don't get side tracked with something else. I will still be writing Queen of the Midnight Sun and other works, but we'll see how that happens. I'm still carrying my little notebook around. It's small enough to sit on top of my copy of Count of Monte Cristo while I write. I'm halfway through that, by the way, and I'm loving it! That Count is just scandalous!!

Toki Wartooth: Well then, shut up!

This morning, I was very confused. My body went along the routine of getting up and turning off the clock...and then I ended up in the kitchen, staring at the can of coffee. This is the point where my brain kicked in again and I realized that I should make the coffee. Then I ended up in the shower, holding a bar of soap. This went on until I took my first sip. Then all was right with the world. Hrm..

Anyway, I am probably doomed. I say this because I am now in the planning stage for a new tale, one that will be serious on the scale of Queen of the Midnight Sun. Competition! What does this mean? Will something end up going on the back burner? I am leaning towards yes, and it looks like that something will be DoE. But I don't really care. is not around these days, and so my motivation to write that is kind of dead. We'll see what happens when she comes back. In the meantime, I am excited about the other projects I have in mind.

In other news, my 24th birthday is coming up, and I still have no idea what I am doing for it. There might be a sort of get together at a friend's house, but other than that, I have no clue. I didn't really bother to plan anything. I'm kind of just burned out on the parties we normally have and all of the people who give a million excuses for why they can't show up, when they've known for months. Yea.

Last night, I made myself kind of sad while reading about Teemu "Somnium" Raimoranta and Terje "Valfar" Bakken. I've read all of those things about them a million times, but I just can't get over the fact that both died in winter accidents within a year of each other, and both were only a year older than my current age. To lighten the mood, though. I came to the interesting revelation that Alexi Laiho's real name is Markku Uula Aleksi Laiho. Wow. I would have never pictured him as a Markku.

My co-worker, J.R. is grossing me out by pulling the skin away from his body. It's all loose. Eeek! We are also very amused by this poptart that has a baby elephant on it. Apparently, they're Barbie poptarts. Well, alrighty then.

It's like having a strong female lead is impossible without it being sexual somehow. I'm not saying that they shouldn't have sex, but it's more like you can't have an ordinary woman who is strong. She's always gotta be raped first or submit to something that degrades and humiliates her or she's gotta be dressed in tight leather from head to toe.

Whatever happened to female leads like Scheherezade, who escaped her fate with quick wit and story-telling flare? Why does every woman end up with Cinderella syndrome or flipping around in boots that...well, you can't even run in them, so I hardly believe that you jumped and landed perfectly on your feet with no consequences to your lower back. -_-

I have lots of time to think it over and come to a decision, as I am always a bit ahead of myself when it comes to storyline planning, but I feel like I need to come to a decision soon for some reason. I'm trying to finish Chapter 50 of DoE now. God, those vampires are hot. XD I'm also going back and forth with working on this photomanipulation. Something might get finished this weekend, although I won't like hold my breath or anything. I was supposed to go and take pictures of Vasa today, but he's a wrinkly pair of lady pants. -_- and that's about all I can think of. Joy!

I would like to say that things are going well with the new job. I have been carrying around a notebook to write a bit, and I find that I get a lot out on the trains. It's the only way I would have finished that last chapter of Dawn of Eternity. I have ideas for several more things, including one idea that was going to be two things, but I've now consolidated them. If I don't make sense now...well, I hope that it will whenever I submit it.

I'm working on the revision of the first chapter of A Son's Thoughts. I think it's coming along well. I changed the names of the main characters, and I love my new choices. This revision can only work at home though, since I can't access the chapter at work.

The office is in a really cool location, right down the street from the West End station and across the street from the Dallas Aquarium. We get an hour for lunch, and so I took the time to walk around and take in the scenery. I might bring along my camera tomorrow so that I can get some pictures on my lunch break. There's a lot to see around that area. The office itself is right above what used to be a night club. I have no idea what they're doing with it now. Those areas are locked off.

The people there seem really cool as well. Another cool thing is that we have a fully stocked kitchen. There's free snacks and caffeinz everywhere! And the kitchen has arcade games. Did I mention that the caffeinz are free? I heard that there was one guy who drunk nearly an entire six pack of Coke to himself. That's no good for the kidneys, but hey. They're his kidneys.

Punish My Heaven- Dark Tranquillity
From the very beginning, this song pulls me in. The band has a very awesome bassist, and their guitarists are equally noteworthy. Plus, the lyrics just seem to fit my feelings as of late.

Edenspring- Dark Tranquillity
The song opens with a bass line that is just beautiful. Then the guitars take over. It's a mellow song, but DT still manage to rock out.

I'm Calling- Angtoria
This is the Metal song for every girl that has ever sat back and daydreamed of their Metal prince. Sarah's voice is just so sweet as well.

Reach Out- Norther
If this song were a person, it would take out a restraining order against me. The guitars during the chorus, especially on the last one, get me raising the horns.

Starchild- Wintersun
A few lines from my favorite part of that song are quoted in my sig. I have always had an obsession with stars, but then there's the fact that Jari sings the hell out of this song.

Shadow Island- Sinergy
This song is inspired by the Alone in the Dark series of video games. I love the bass on this song. Nightwish fans will recognize Marco Hietala both on bass and as backing vocals during the Drakkar Anni verses. Then we have sweet, sexy Alexi doing the Alan Morton verses, and the lovely Kim Goss, as Aline Cedrac.

Queen of Winter, Throned- Cradle of Filth
I've finally learned how to get past the "Vestal Masturbation" part without breaking into laughter. This song is ten minutes of epic, and playing it makes my arm very tired. That's just the bass! I don't even want to touch the guitar!

Another of those songs that would get a restraining order.

Her computer completely died on her, and who knows when it will be fixed? This makes me very sad. I'm actually trying kind of hard not to cry, and reminding myself that it isn't forever. I can call her when I want, but it wont be the same. She and have been huge supporters and help when it comes to writing. Now that they are both going to not be around, well it really sucks for me.

I'm going to still push myself to write. After all, I was doing it long before I met them. I can just predict myself being in somewhat of a slump though. Sometimes, I write my best when I feel low, and sometimes I hit a major block. We'll see what happens.

Now that it's done, I'm trying to figure out what to do with myself. Jeffrey gave me another title to read, but I don't feel like starting on that just now. I am getting pretty close to finishing another chapter of Queen of the Midnight Sun. So far, I'm loving the direction that it's taking. Most of it was planned out before hand, but there have been a few plot points that have just come out of nowhere. Yet, they make so much sense and I'm glad that I have taken my time with it instead of forcing, and allowing myself to work on more than one thing has helped with that, I think.

Thought of an idea for some lyrics last night, but didn't actually write anything down. They're too much idea instead of actual words to really write anything, if that makes sense. Nev has been writing though. Listening to something now, which is the title. I don't know if it's just a working one or not. Sometimes we play around while we wait for a real title. Like the song called "Odin Burt". We're definitely renaming that one.

In other news, my friend Jeffrey is forcing me to read his Stephen King collection. The two of us enjoy discussing books together and there are a few short stories of King's that I haven't read. So now I'm reading those along with Dreamcatcher. The movie was horrid, but the book isn't that bad so far. The writing is nice to read anyway. I'm also reading what was supposedly a proposed script for the third Little Mermaid, and the Hávamál, which is a bunch of sayings from Odin. This makes me happy. For some reason, I don't get writer's block so much when I have things to read.

A friend of mine announced over the weekend that he is moving away to New Mexico because of a job offer he received. This offer is to work as a producer- a dream of his for a long while. He's always known that he was going to do something in the music industry, be it playing the drums in a band or producing. The chance to produce is calling, and he has to answer.

I'm pretty bummed out about the fact that he's leaving, but I support him 100%. What is making this all so hard for me is not my own emotions. What makes it hard is watching how hard my sister is taking this. Not only has this guy been like a brother to us for the past four years now, but she has gotten used to seeing him almost everyday because they also work at the same place. Now all of that is being taken away from her.

She is so upset right now, and I hate to see her this way. It almost kills me. I'm trying to give her space because I know that she doesn't want to talk about it and she wants to be alone right now, but I can feel it in the air. My sister and I are very close. So close that if one of us is upset, it affects the other in a big way. Right now, I just feel so awful.

I'm going to try and finish some things though. Writing will take my mind away from it all. I have another chapter of Queen of the Midnight Sun that needs like a few sentences more. I could at least manage that.

Seriously, that game is addictive in a way that comes and goes. There's times where playing it seems the most awesome thing you can do with your free time, and then you become bored with it for a while. Months go by without you really thinking about playing, and then BAM! You're back at it again like an alcoholic having a relapse. I have relapsed, and I'm not ashamed to say it!

Right now, I live on modthesims2.com. It's an awesome sight for custom content and links to find more custom content. More, whore, more! I also know how to make a few things and do recolors, so yea.

What's really fun is that I like to make Sims of my characters. I have some that I've yet to play with from various stories, and I still plan to make a few other people as soon as I find the right content. Mostly, I'm looking for hair. Good hair isn't hard to find, but the right hair just might be unless you make it yourself.

But oh noes! I have went on and on about this game, and that wasn't even the reason why I started this entry in the first place. That goes to show you that I am truly addicted again.

I'm trying to write moar DoE at the moment, and I'm stuck there. I also have plenty of things that I have started and not finished. Also stuck. I was thinking to myself today that I really need to pull up what I have for the next chapter of Queen of the Midnight Sun and try to finish that up. The problem is that I really haven't the words right now to express what's in my head. Does that make sense? I know what's going to happen, but I can't put it into words. We'll see what happens though. Maybe I need to play more Sims.

1. I somehow do my best writing when it's my week on dishes.

I'm not sure how to explain this. It might be the fact that cleaning is such a boring, monotonous that requires very little thought. The result is that the mind wanders in a desperate attempt to entertain itself. When I'm cleaning in the kitchen, there's usually something like absolute silence going on. Also, it may or may not be the fact that I'm writing away from the computer that also helps. Sometimes, I take a notebook into the kitchen with me and to the bathroom as well. As a result, I have about five notebooks full of random things because when I leave the room, I'll remember where I left off and just brainstorm from there. Odd?

2. I sometimes get too far ahead of myself.

The draw back of brainstorming in the kitchen is that the ideas often come faster than I can write. At times, the story is farther along in my head than it has been physically written. Me being eager to get to the newer stuff that I have planned, the part that I may be writing at the moment become...I don't want to say boring. I just don't want to have to write them. I wish that I could make a word processor that reads your mind and writes everything exactly how you imagine, but Nesha pointed out that my stories will go like this:

Martin swung twice around the pole while continuing to sing Painkiller at the top of his lungs...I wonder what time Stian gets home from work...Robin rolled his eyes and...Damnit! That ferret is going to make me beat him if he doesn't stop climbing all over everything...started to walk down the street. Martin ran behind him and...lmao! Sam is crazy. Not Cradle of Filth videos. *edit* O rly? I tried, and I can't even get two to scroll at once. Give it a shot. Maybe there's a strategy to it.

In other news, I'm almost done with Fate of Norns, for the two people that I might have mentioned it to. It's at about fifteen pages in MS Word. If you use the little book preview thingy, it's at 28. Nice.

After that, I have no idea what I'm doing. I have Pekka on the brain, so I think I will write more about him. Not the little Pekka. The adult Pekka.

For a moment, I was shocked at the outcome. Then I thought of the reason why this might be happening. When I was in grade school, I was an excellent speller because of the fact that we had to memorize spellings. We didn't have spell check back then. It's everywhere now! Even my browser, Firefox, has spell check! It can be a helpful tool. However, I wonder if it actually causes you to forget how to spell things, especially when I consider the fact that certain words are even auto-corrected. Did you forget the "I" before "E" except after "C" rule? No problem. Spell check's got you covered! Microsoft Word even goes so far as to correct your grammar for you!

Some people may not be bothered by this. I am. Not only am I concerned and disappointed by the fact that I'm not as good of a speller as I used to be, but I am also concerned for the generations growing up with this convenience. Look around the internet. The average 16 year old has horrible spelling. The other day, I saw a comment where a girl spelled the word "really" as "rilly". That's "rilly" horrible!

In my case, I'm going to try and replace my huge dictionary. The day it fell apart was the day I started heavily relying on the spell check instead of looking up the word and learning the spelling. I'm also going to invest in a thesaurus, something that every writer should have.
