dA need to add 'bla' to their moods. or i need to find it. whichever. Ok, maybe physics hating would be a better description, but I don't see that being used that much.

anyway, felt like updating the old post. um, part of the project and the one before it got posted (yes out of order-ness). been able to do more writing here lately, we'll see how dead/finals week changes that. sunday always means phys homework. (and avoiding it)

I did finally get unpacked... still not sure what to do about those empty containers. Now if I can just get my work-study back. turns out my parents are going with the new house but maybe not the kids? who knows. Anyway, when I finally do go home, it's be to a "new" house. it was built like before the 1930's, so new is a relative term for it, but yeah. Still probably going to hide from my family online when I go home, that much hasn't changed.

and i so want to do art-stuff, but u know, school gets in the way of that.

Anyway it was crazy hectic fun, project may get posted, may not.

And what did we learn today: if you think you have free time, it's because you're ignoring one of your classes. my ps2 barely gets used these days. And i spend hardly any time writing or doing anything really that isn't for school.

and i missed HvZ, which no fun, but hopefully they'll have it again next semester.

Now I should really go get started on my phys hw, it's due in a few hours.

random notes: I'm still partly packed up. you know i've only been living here since aug. though here soon i might have to unpack to pack to go home for xmas. I finally got my loans worked out so woo-hoo. oh and my mom is adopting 4 small kids, so i'll be going home to 8 siblings. not looking forward to that, but whatever, i'll just spend my time online or something. Now if I can just get my boyfriend to talk to me this semester might actually be fun, but we'll see.

And I want to do more still life type stuff, but now I'm not sure what to draw. like there's lots of stuff around, but i don't want to do only mundane objects. me and my picky artist ways, my art is never good enough for me.

and I'm going to get around to getting pictures of my old pottery, it's just going to take some time. Some of the pieces are in the house..... some where... I should be able to find them, and some are at like my aunt's house or grandmother's house. Shouldn't be too long until I find them all, or at least most of them.

Anyway, just playing around with some still life sketching here lately, I'm so rusty with drawing/sketching, and it's probably the same for coloring, but I haven't tried that yet. I'm trying to work on my sketching again, since it's been so long since I was actually doing that, and just figured I'ld start with simple still lives, since one of my classes this fall will have sketching assignments, what type I don't know yet, but I will be expected to draw, that and I'm bored out of my skull and need something to do. It's this or anime/manga. Like everyone is home for the summer, I'm like alone.... and I have my own apartment, so there's days where I don't see another person.... when you're used to a family of 7.... it gets lonely.

But yeah, Even though I've been in a class all summer (well, one ended, but the next one started right after it), and yeah I've been slacking off in it, but it's just tech writing (and boring), and my grades have been fine anyway. So I have lots of do nothing time. I'll go do some reading at some point.

In case anyone actually reads this and doesn't know already, I got my major changed to computer graphics, and I was really happy about it. Mind u, that was a long time ago. I'm probably gonna focus on web design & development/print page layout & design. I'm still in the beginning stuff, and don't know much yet, but apparently I have a knack for print design, says my prof.

Oh, I'm also working on another picture of sailor jinx, but don't know if it will get finished. why sailor jinx again? because I have references of her and wanna draw a head shot at an angle of someone (who is not important, and I suck at character design). I'm trying to work on drawing things from angle, not head on, like most my picture of humans/human shaped things. I mean they might as well be front views from blue prints / multi-view drawings here. That's the other reason for the still lives, I'm trying to work on thinking / rendering things in my head in 3-D and being able to turn and rotate things, draw it, and it look right. I've also changed a small bit of my sketching technique here lately thanks to Prof. Burton (yay cgt112, aka sketching hell), some tutorial-things by , and a technique in a book from the library i read (I live almost next door to the local library now, it's a small block away). If I do finish it and it looks like what I want it to (the idea in my head), it's gonna be cool, but don't get ur hopes up. It's still in the sketching in the computer phase (meaning it's past the sketching on paper after 3 versions).

LASTLY: in about 3 weeks or so when I'm home, I'm thinking about using my shiny new camera to take pictures of some clay pieces I did in high school. Yeah they're 3 years old, but honestly I forgot that i did them, so yeah.

I don't know. I was trying to draw again... just to prove to myself (AGAIN) how much i suck at getting everything just the right size when compared to everything else. So, I said heck with it and just drew. It's not realistic, but if you want that, get a camera, not a pencil. I know there's people who can draw like photo realistic, but I mean look at some good american cartoons, like Danny Phantom or Fairly Odd Parents. Avatar is pretty realistically done, but it has it's moments. Even something as realistic as FMA has it's moments (I know FMA is anime... but it's like the most realistic drawn animated thing I could think of off the top of my head).

I might upload some of this new thing of mine, but it might be a while. The heads are big, but that's always because I feel like I need more room to do the face. So far the arms are pretty thin, but I did myself and I have thin arms. I just sorta went with it, and had a lot of fun. I'll probably draw some other characters before I try my own... because I always have problems when I draw my own characters. I also might play with the style and make it a little more realistic, but who knows.

Well, I just put up the inuyasha 1 preview thing, mostly because i really like the way the colored part looks.

It's just meant to be like test, and I think I like it, a lot. I've been stuck in basically how I want to color and stuff. I knew I wanted to use photoshop, but you can do everything from basic style cell shading to just about perfectly realistic, so that didn't help. I've played with a lot of different ideas, the hair on the Catreena head picture is just 1 test thing, there have been many, it was just the only one that got that far, most didn't get far at all. My point is I think I've found a style that I like how it looks, and can actually use it.

Well, I should get on that homework stuff, since classes (and work) start again on Monday (I've been on spring break), I just wanted to put that up before I stopped goofing off on the computer.

Everything seem weird, it doesn't feel real anymore. Like going home just feels like it was all just a dream or something (all being everything I did before I left for college). But I'm ok, things just seem weird, that's all. I'm very much so a person of habit, so that's probably what it is.

I put up so few things. I finally reached 3 things in my gallery. My drawings take me so long, but I think I lot of that is that I'm like never happy with them, something always needs fixing, and at some point it gets put on the shelf (not really, it's on my hard drive, but yeah) and ignored and not thought about for a long time. The penguin picture got done so quickly because it was someone else sketch. It may or may not get colored. The person that I made it for want to color it themselves, but I hope to color it one day, don't know when that will be, if ever.

Like I decided I was bored this summer and was going to knit (Yes trio - I can knit, in case you're around when my friend reads this.) my boyfriend some dragon scale arm warmers. The project took a lot of planing and figuring out of things, and it's still in that stage.... His b-day is in Feb, I'm predicting they stand a chance of being done by his b-day, the one coming over a year from now. He doesn't mind because he takes this thing that I don't need to do something like that just for him, but he does like the dragon scales thing. He is going to come up to school and visit me on monday, so I can't wait for that.

I guess I start things and don't finish them, and it bugs me. One thing I've done is some web design... maybe I should put up some screen shot of that or something. I might, not sure (feel free to encourage me either way). Because it seems to me like DA will take anything that could be call art, and web design could in some ways be called art.

Oh well, I have things to do, so I'll stop rambling now. Byes.
