LALALA I been havin too much caffeine and my brain is WIRED.

Okay. So.

I went to New Zealand and Ozzie (Australia to you Americans) over the last month and I tell you this.

Sheep are BIIIG animals and DON'T believe them when they tell you they don't bite because when they get jealous of their stallmate being petted they will try to bite and that would hurt.

New Zealand was gorgeous (and cold, as it was wintertime) with all the mountains and volcano-spat-out boulders and lots of green everywhere. The Waikato was flooding, which I guess isn't such a good thing, but Rotorua was really very pleasant. It's a city in a volcanic crater that has a ton of vents and fumaroles all over the place. There are hotsprings, too, and the local Maori pipe the steam and heat into wooden boxes called hangi to cook stuff. Maori microwave, as they say. It works, too. :3 They also use the hotspring water for a local spa, where you can soak in thirty-nine degrees celsius wonderfulness for as long as you want if you have twenty dollars. New Zealand is known for its greenstone, too, greenstone being jade in other lands, and I got some of that while I was there. It's lovely stuff, but it's so dense! It's heavier than a similarly-sized piece of granite. We also went to the Waitomo caves, the glowworm caves they featured on the Planet Earth caves episode. That place is wicked! The glowworms are SO pretty, too.

Ozzie was the coolness. We stayed in Sydney, which is probably the only big city I could ever live in. The Wallabies walloped the All Blacks in a rugby match the night before we arrived, so some of the Kentucky folks got made fun of for wearing All Black gear. One of the KY folks asked if elephants lived in New Zealand. She was dead serious, too. I lost a lot of respect for the human race right there... aaand I digress. Sydney is a big, big city, bigger than Rotorua or Auckland by a lot, and there were a ton of great restaurants all over. They listen to some great music, too, which made me happy. The zoos were amazing, and I seemed to befriend every animal that came within ten feet of me. It was just bizarre.

I'll put up pictures soon, once Mom un-confiscates my camera.
<3
Drake

I'm headed out to Australia, Hawai'i, and New Zealand in late July, so my camera and I should be seeing quite a lot. I also have a good many tournaments and sneak peeks to go to with my friends, and I can tell you that there's nothing quite like a road trip with your friends. If you haven't tried it, you should.

Anyways, I go to capture the local birdies and puppies. :3

As soon as I was allowed to open mine, I tore in. The Huge figure is always at the bottom of the box, covered with an extra piece of cardboard, so all I saw was this silver paw. I thought, 'Okay, so there's only two or three silver pieces in the set, and the Eviscerator is a flat gray... HOLY FUCK!' I promptly ripped the box to bits and kind of had a sort of joyful... erm, seizure? I was briefly incapable of holding still or silent, basically, and probably deafened everyone in the room.
I got a Nintendo DS and Pokemon Diamond for Christmas, and I'll tell ya, those games are freaking addictive. I adore my team, though, and it's likely that there will be some form of fanart on here soon...

Anyway, I got the first SIX (I about fainted-- so many books!) volumes of a manga I like called "Inubaka"; a copy of "The Grand History of the Realms" (My DnD dearies, you will love it); and "Empire of Ivory", the fourth book in the Temeraire saga by Naomi Novik. I highly recommend them-- not only are they excellent books, but you'll have enough twenty-five cent words to bandy around by the end of the first book that you'll be a hundred dollars richer to boot.

My brother got an Xbox 360 and a ridiculously violent game called Bioshock. When I say violent, I mean violent, too! It's this game about some guy who finds himself trapped in a city of gene-mod addicts who kill to get the EVE stuff that sustains these genetic modifications. They've set the city to ruins, essentially, which really sucks since it's underwater. Anyway, you can beat them down with wrenches, shoot them with all manner of guns, electrocute them, set them on fire, telekinetically throw them to their deaths, bow them up with makeshift grenades, freeze-and-break 'em... spontaneously generate swarms of thousands of hornets from your veins that burst out of your skin and sting them to death... scary as hell, too, because these crazy people freaking appear out of nowhere and your guy is constantly shooting himself up with this EVE stuff to keep burning/zapping/freezing/throwing people. My brother and I agree that this game is @#$*ing trippy.

Naturally, my brother loves it. He particularly likes the wrench...

Three Dragon Ante (which I intend to foist on the DnD crew promptly)

A COLOSSAL RED DRAGON YAAAAAAAAAAYYY! (This I did not ask for, and was not expecting, therefore I was taken by a brief episode of ecstasy)

A Huge Gold ohmyGODSitisSOF*UCKINGBEAUTIFUL and yes I know how to use a space bar, the lack thereof is meant for emphasis...

A Brass Dragon (those are pretty rare)

A Sorceror on Black Dragon AND a Griffon Cavalry (also referred to as Lady Fly-by)

Another Vlakith the Lich Queen, complementing my Gith on Red

A Stirge (not rare, but it's trading fodder!)

DDM maps, which I've sorely needed

NEW DICE YAYAYAYAYAAAAY! And they're SPARKLY!!

Almost the ENTIRE remaining part of the Legend of Drizzt series (adding the three I already have, that's fourteen out of I think seventeen...)

Hats! (I've got a minor thing for hats)

A scarf (fun to wrap around my head and pretend I'm a ninja)

A stripedy shirt with long sleeves (good, because it's cold here)

Money and Borders cards (the card shall complete my Drizzt collection! YES!)

Simply put, I had one hell of a dorktastic Festivus. Again my folks spent too much on me, but... if they wanna spoil me, I don't mind! As long as it's their choice...

Oh yes. My Colossal Red's name is Hephaestus, after the amazingly stupid red dragon from "Sojourn" by R.A. Salvatore. My Hephaestus is no idiot. He's just so cute... *cuddles* And I'm gonna sic him on my poor little PCs this spring... *evil giggles*
My hero passed. Steve Irwin was the best man alive. I've watched his show for as long as I can remember, and I miss him terribly. Rest in peace, Steve; my prayers on swift wings to your loved ones.

Yes, marching band season is fast approaching, and I can't wait! At risk of sounding insane, band camp is the highlight of my school year.

*hugs her trumpet*

I'll get new stuffs up as soon as I can! Promise. I just need to get the hang of coloring things. I'm no good at that... shading is really hard. O.o'

Anyway, I've got more DnD this weekend-- a campaign meet on Friday and another minis tournament on Saturday. This tourney isn't epic level, though, so I'm not allowded to use mah Bahamut. True to my nickname (Drake), my whole warband IS dragons. Yay!

I'll probably come in 13th again. O.o'

Ooh, it's eleven... time flies. I have to fly, too. To bed I go!

It's been a hard week.

Had to break up with my (still wonderful) boyfriend (now bestest-friend). Just realized, well... I wasn't ready for a full relationship. He's crying hard, but we're both recovering from the shock (the whole thing startled me too).

We'll figure it out... and we'll walk this cold road together as best friends.

May Eleventh, 2006. Lots of homework. A new deviation. Pixels, sadly. I want a tablet. Very badly.
Does anyone else have over three hours of homework waiting...?

Hoo-RAY!! Today, March Ninth of 2006, marks the beginning of my second year dating the most beautiful man on the face of the Earth. I made him dinner.

Today had to be the best day I've ever had... It rained all day, so we sat on the couch and watched the rain fall until it got dark. Then we had a candlelit dinner (candles courtesy of my mother), and then we watched The Planet's Funniest Animals with Jessie (the dog). Well, we spent more time laughing at Jess while she jammed her nose around the TV screen, but I digress.

Today was a very, VERY good day.
