Hi everyone! I'm happy to say that there is now a group (which will soon be part of the DA Groups feature) call MarbleBridge for FFXI Players on DA! I was refered by this week (Thanks again!). The first event is for the Starlight Festival (winter holiday event in game). While the MMHU is bringing us the festival, MarbleBridge is bringing us: Secret Smilebringers! It's like Secret Santa but as a big group art swap to draw one another's FFXI characters. I can't tell you how excited I am at the possibilities.

If you're an XI player and would like to join MarbleBridge, or if you'd like to just join in for the Secret Smilebringers Event, please click the icon and follow the instructions in the journal postings: .

The rest of this journal is my information for the Event (all pictures are linked to an unlocked photobucket account. 和訳利用可能です。 メッセージを送ってください&#12290 :

Dear Secret Smilebringer!

For Christmas I'd like to see my character(s) drawn!

My Main Characters (I'd love to see either of them): Taikoubou (Hume M) and Evva (Mithra)

Jobs and Play Style:
Tai:
SMN75(Happy, but sometimes overconfident) [link] [link] [link] [link]
BST75 (Very serious and time conscious, but always running late) [link] [link] [link]
BRD75 (Laid back and absolutely oblivious.
Crazed sewing season has begun again. Seems to happen more and more lately. I'm working on my Halloween Costume, which is going to be based on a Deorart Design (viewable here: [link] ). Also, I've been put in charge of doing some banners for our new Dynamis Linkshell Site, Aletheia. Some of them are using game models, so I am not going to post them, but the ones I draw will make it into my deviations at one point or another. First one went up tonight and is for the Halloween Event that starts on Friday the 16th.

Not so much irl. Waiting for the Australian consulate to contact me about my application. Can't do much beyond that. Seriously trying to think about doing NaNoWriMo this year, but I've been editing more than writing for the last 3 weeks. Hopefully that urge lessens enough for me to get an outline ready or something for November. Ashi wants me to go watch the new FMA too >.> now I'm thinking about Rin...

Oh! Manga news: FujiRyu-Sensei has a new Manga coming out. I'm unaware currently on plans to have it officially translated to English, but Volume 6 of Shi Ki ( 屍鬼 ) is coming out in a week. It's a horror manga that's a weird mix of vampires, Ayakashi, traditional Fujisaki Ryuu characters, and 20 days of night (in a less gory way). I read volumes 1-5 in Japanese in under 2 days (with an electronic dictionary). I couldn't even wait for the translation. It's awesome. I highly recommend it. SnoopyCool is translating it into English I found out later, and he did great work on Houshin Engi. It's being published monthly in Jump Comics Square. You can get it from Sasuga Books. I love them to pieces.

Game News: Halo3DST was great. Went through on Co-Op with a friend last week and I'm really liking the way the game was done. Not sickened by camera issues in checkpoints anymore, and the music, story, flow is awesome. Also SHEILA! It's making me look into getting a used X-Box. My Gamer Score also finally has something on it. We got my profile working finally on XBL. Finished LBP Official Story Mode Levels on PS3. That second to last level with the spinning wheel of doom was insane. Making my own level slowly based on xxxHOLiC. Finished Ghost Busters on easy and normal. Having a lot of trouble getting multiplayer to connect though. It blows errors constantly when trying to join games. Game is fun, but the online content has been nearly unusable. Dissedia has been a lot of fun. Seeing Shantoto is a blast as an XI player. I think GameInformer was a bit harsh when they reviewed it.

FFXI: Got my BRD Relic Hat today. Very excited to finally have a decent stat/skill hat piece, although it still doesn't look stellar >.>; So 5/5 BST, 4/5 SMN, 3/5 BRD, 2/5 PUP, 1/5 MNK on Relic now. Hard to go wrong. Also been Chocobo Racing and Raising. Tai has a red Chocobo that is SSRank in 2 stats now and has been racing. Evva has one that has just reached B Rank in 2 stats that will be used for Chocobo Hot and Cold eventually. Lots of fun. Watanuke is up to 73.2 Cooking. Evva just started Rise of the Zilart. Lots going on in game.

So Happy Halloween!

Totally worth it (but I wish I hadn't had food poisoning the day I left for Baltimore).

So, it is now official, I'm heading to Sydney Australia in February to comense studies in March for my graduate degree! I'm psyched and burried in paperwork for my visa. They're really strict about health and physicals and such. Going to start sending papers out tomorrow. I need a printer!

I'm going to be uploading some photos of some sculpting I did for Otakon over the next week. I made some Tachikoma pins that were a big hit. I gave a bunch out to Artists and VAs, as well a to friends who were staying with me. Some people at the con asked me about how to get some, so I'm going to be looking into setting up my DA to take orders in connection with SakuraCrafts. I've also learned that Crayola Color Magic is cool or thick sculpting, but I'm going back to Sculpy III for small stuff.

Anyway, I've gotta log into XI. People are calling for my PLD!

~デンキヒツジ

Hi Everyone! This is my last update before heading off to Otakon 2009 in Baltimore, MD!

I have lots of news to convey. I'm going to be headed off to Australia in February to begin Graduate School. Preperations are underway!

My costumes are nearly done now. Just need something to arrive by mail order and a dry day to do some outside glueing. There's been so much rain it's hard to believe the ground is even solid anymore.

In XI: I finished CoP finally! /Dance. Good feeling there. Looking at gettin the last ZM fight done to start the joint missions and then going after Bahamut. His staff is /drool for Summoners.

IRL: I was on the NHK (for about 3 seconds) last week when some of the footage from the Boston Commons interview ran. [link] to check it out. Two of my costumes were shown, as my friend was wearing one of my older ones (SMN AF). I'm the one in the Motoko costume (Gold Suit on the end).

Finished "The Strain" and really enjoyed it, but now I'm mad I have to wait a year to read the second book. >.< Can't win I guess. /hurray for non-romanticized vampires finally! There is hope!

Anyway, hope to see some of you at the con! My art break is over. Time to get back to these costumes!

~デンキヒツジ

Hi all. I'm home ill (seems to be a more common occurance than not), so I spent the night drawing. Meet Lila. There's some background on her in the photo comments.

Lila is the second Pathfinder character I've made, the first has proven illusive for me to get a good picture of in my head yet. So what is Pathfinder? Pathfinder is the fix D&D 3.5 was looking for (at least it seems to be so far), that didn't invove going to 4.0 and screwing everyone up. It fixes a lot of issues (although much to my displeasure, the item creation rules are still horribly worded). Condensed skill lists, more skills/HP (your choice) at level up, more even play for classes, easy to convert anything that worked in 3.5 (including even AD&D converted to 3.5 characters -> I tried it out). More feats too. Infact, lots more feats. And no more Cantrips (after a fashion). There is no more "running out of spells".

Perhapers best part, it's free. The game is still in beta, and even though you can buy a soft back hard copy (hard cover comes out this summer), you can get the .pdf for free on their website. Just hit up google and type in "Pathfiner RPG" and it should be the top result. Lila is a Duskblade (3.5PHBII) and converted wonderfully. I have an Archivist as well from Heros of Horror, and she is working quite nicely. I did a test converstion of my Epic Techsmith and it worked so much better than it did actually in 3.5.

Only thing going on in news today is that my copy of the BlueRay Special Edition of Advent Children Complete shipped from Japan last night with the FFXIII demo on it. I need to find myself a PS3. Also have a copy of the Megumix (All Slayers Megumi Music) on the way. Hard to do wrong there.

I've been preoccupied with injection kit models... after almost 10 years not doing one. I'm looking for a bigger one now to try, but I'm finding my taste in series is a little old for finding giant Mecha I like.

Trying out Pathfinder for the first time. It seems to have fixed a lot of problems I had with D&D 3.5, but it still hasn't fixed the stupid wording on the rules for item creation... Makes me wanna pull my hair out every time I try to buy something. Got an Archivist and a Duskblade in process. We'll see how it goes. Haven't been in much of a drawing mood, but going to need to get back to that big XI picture and do some new character sketches for the 2 games I've joined. I'll post them if they're even half way decent.

I'm one fight away from finishing main CoP missions (and getting my spiffy ring reward). Much excitement there. The new "Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy" CD is seriously made of awsome (and plastic...but mostly awsome). Mine arrived today. Also 4/5 on Main Relic gear for both SMN and BST. Rather amazed, but the drops I'm missing are from Xarcabard and those almost never drop. New Expansion is pretty interesting but the drop rates on the key items are awful.

Not feeling particularly time management-friendly atm, but then again, I'm at work and it's dead, so there's not much to do. Going to go log in and see if I can get something done in Vana'diel since I can't do much of anything on Earth.

Have you ever asked this question before? I'm not honestly sure why we did, but it's highly entertaining...

What if customs agents were like TV shows?

The Odd Couple:
You would get your luggage back and one bag would be trashed and everything stuffed back in every which way and wrinkled. The other bag would be pristinely packed and steam cleaned with a mint on top.

Law & Order:
You’d get your bags back but with 15 minutes before your next flights they’d come back and give you a different set of bags.

Quincy M.E.:
You’d get all your stuff back precisely packed but inside of a dead hooker.

CSI: Miami:
You’d get your bags back on time but before they handed it over, the agent would have to make a witty side comment and tip his sunglasses at you.

The Simpsons:
You’d get your stuff back on time but all of the gloves would only have three fingers.

Monk:
Bag will never have been opened but somehow the items are packed even neater than how you originally did it and alphabetized.

Myth Busters:
Let’s just say… you don’t get your bag back.

The Big Bang Theory:
You get everything back, and Sheldon has bar-coded every item for your convenience. It takes you 4 hours to unpack.

Wire in the Blood:
Your bag has a curious red stain around the handle.

Lost:
You get your bag back but for some reason the contents are items you packed for a previous trip.

Battlestar Galactica:
When you open up your bag all it contains is a toaster.

Star Trek:
You get your bag back after a five year mission where it boldly goes where no bag has gone before, unless it’s red in which case you never get it back at all.

Dexter:
Whatever you do, don’t open your bag…

Doctor Who:
You get your bag back but for some reason it now contains a first run manuscript for a Shakespearian Play and a Laser gun.

Torchwood:
You get your bag but it has a green slime in it and the fellow who hands it back to you gives you a roguish wink that makes you feel uncomfortable…

Top Gear:
Your bag is destroyed and covered in tier marks and handed back to you by a mute man in a full-faced white helmet.

Fox News:
Every blue item of clothing has been replaced with a red one.

MSNBC:
All the items of red clothing are still there, but you also get a DVD of Keith Obermann making fun of them.

Red vs. Blue:
You get your suitcase back dented and destroyed with some guy in orange armour stuck inside of it.

The X-Files:
You don’t get your luggage back, the contents have been classified top secret, but you want to believe it will eventually come back.

Iron Chef:
Today’s Secret Ingredient is…Luggage!

~デンキヒツジ

Hi all!

My hair is purple (in about 3 different shades). I'm starting to gear up for convention season. So fun! I match my 2k views sheep.

It's been a cinematic month so far. I finished watching Firefly and Serenity (which I loved, but I'm so sad about character deaths!! Will not spoil the movie. Promise). I then ended up driving way far out to meet Roomie and some friends to see Coraline in 3D (totally worth the extra admission fee for 3D).

I've been a Neil Gaiman fan since the mid 1990's with Sandman. Was awsome to see some of his work on the big screen again. Stardust was fun, but it wasn't his normal creepy-ness I'm used to. Coraline delivered. It also got me thinking and I ended up getting to finally see Neverwhere (yes the BBC mini series). It's been one of my favorite novels since my freshman year of college. I know Neil Gaiman didn't like the way the series came out, but I really enjoyed watching it. For having been made in 1996, the special effects were great for a TV sereies. X-Files looked less believeable back then. Gotta admit though, Door's actress looks suspiciously like Death...

And speaking of The Endless... We're getting a movie written and directed by Gaiman for Death: The High Cost of Living. It's in production now. I'm excited. That was the first thing he wrote that I ever bought (along with Death: The Time of Your Life).

Anyway though, working on research proposals and otherwise trying to unwind some after the GRE (and what a waste of time that test is... and money). I'm not posting in Japanese today. Honestly too tierd to try to explain British Horror in two languages.

I have two new items in my deviations right now. They're slices of what the final version of that pencil scan I posted before the new ID will be. Eventually those two (Theyre about 38 layers each) will be mixed with another set of layers on Evva, and then a background, and 3 very small lower layer count characters are going to be combined together (and resized) to make one really big pic. I'm hoping I don't run out of memory putting it together honestly. We'll have to wait and see. So anyway, the ones up now are works in progress. They will be moved to scraps when the final is up.

~デンキヒツジ

I've been crusing along with the FFXI deviation and plodding slowly forward with the 2k views one. It will be up. I promise...and it will look like serta sheep because I can't seem to redraw it to my satisfaction.

Playing Subarashi Kono Sekai (The World Ends with You) and I'm addicted O.o. Good game so far. I'm on Day 6. Got the Dynamis Win for Bastok last night too so I'm excited.

I got some encouragement from Luke McKay on RT about my art.
Wanna start by saying that one of my good friends is back (sorta) to DA. So Welcome back Ryuko-Chan!

I have a couple of new things to post should I be able to find my scanner cable. I'm under 100 to 2k views O.o and stunned. So there will be a special deviation going up for that soon, as well as my new ID picture. I think I finally got it looking electric sheep-like finally.

Been on a major XI kick trying to get to Sea (Limbus). I'm on the Ultima/Omega fight right now and the fight scares the crap outta me x.x;; My Bard is going to go Squish fast. Also doing more Dynamis. We did Bastok this week, no win, but I got my BST Relic Body. Now I just need to get 11 levels on my BST to wear it >.> I did get to 73 though! So my Summoner now has spiffy blue and coral shoes ^^. Also got Paladin to 38 on Evva this morning. I need to get a non level synch pt so I can actually get some experience using my job abilities!

Con Schedual is back up in the air again. Might be in the country... might also be in Australia or Hong Kong by summer. I have no idea what's going to happen in the next couple of weeks. I guess if I'm gonna be here I should stop eating so much pudding and icecream and start working out again just in case. Won't have a costume otherwise. If I am in the country though, I wanna get back to Otakon. Also would love to get to RvBTO this year. On the good note, I have my hair at the right length now so no more wigs for Motoko!

デンキヒツジ

Edit: New ID Photo Posted.
Well, as life always seems to throw a curveball at me when I figure something out, looks like I may be back in Japan by April (probably in March). Doing what? Teaching English ^^

So, I guess revised con schedual looks more like this: Possible Otakon 2009 (I have vacation weeks in the summer), and definitly Tokyo Game Show 2009. I'd love to get to Comiket and back to Comita, but I don't know how possible that'll be with my work schedual.

In other news:
I'm the group admin for "Calling All Writers", a forum group through the Delta Beta on Rooster Teeth's website. It's a group for all writers or all types of work, as well as editors, publishers, and anyone else with a general interest in things that get put down on paper. I'm not entirely sure if they have the Groups Network set up for NonSponcers yet, but if you'd like to check us out, if you log into RT's website and at the top under community, you'll see a pulldown for Groups Network. In there you can search for "Calling All Writers" and we should be the only thing that comes up. It's quiet right now because November is NaNoWriMo, but starting in December, we're looking into some fun projects. Hope to see you there ^^/ (My name on there is Evva_Nikki btw, incase you're actually looking for me)

~Denki Hitsuji

PS: I found Luke McKay's DA site today after wandering around RT all morning. He's got beautiful stuff posted. If you're a fan you should definitly look him up.

Ok, so it's offical. I have my convention schedual set for 2009.

First off will be Otakon '08 in July. Going to be joining my good buddy Sharpe, who is flying in from England, as well as some friends from college and some local friends at the convention for three days. Should prove to be fun. Costume is going to be Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell: SAC Second Gig (her street clothes). Should have a Tachikoma puppet with some neat features as well.

Second, Conneticon 2009, which should be interesting as I will be in attendance with some friends and we will be making up an Eberron Dungeons and Dragons (3.5E) party. I have the prelim sketch for my costume in my gallery right now. She's a Gnome Silver Pyromancer (and by then will have some levels of Holy Scourge added in for just that extra bit of devotion). Reaper put out a miniature recently that is pretty close to what I drew (surprised the hell out of me yesterday in the gaming store to see it.) It's under the name: Cassie Gnome Wizard. I'm hoping to get it put together and painted with a photo up here for a color check before Christmas (will be my first non Warhammer 40k model to paint so we'll see how it comes out).

And last, I have every intention of hitting Tokyo Game Show 2009 as I will be back in Japan shortly following Conneticon next year. Maybe I can hang out with the SE Mithra Girls again May reserect my SMN costume for that one. We'll have to see.

On a side note, going to use a costume from Conneticon 2008 for Halloween this year, so if you see a Cat Girl in a black, blue, yellow, and red Yukatta with a black bowa tail and blue and black ears, it's me ^^b. Wore this on Sunday at Conneticon (partly because it looked great and partly because I broke my toe in my costume I was wearing the rest of the weekend the night before and needed the sandals to let the toe swell and heal a little. The heels I had on were not helping.

I have descided not to return to Anime Boston this coming year. The obnoxious reg line and the lack of organization this last year was awful, and it seems like each year there's less and less I want to do at the convention. The pannels have been declining, and honestly, if I see one more tween girl flash a voice actor I'm going to strangle them. Yay for Otakon and their chapperone policy! I was contemplating going to 21+Con this year but they priced the registration fee way outside my means after the massive amount of money I spent at Conneticon. I love the concept though. Hopefully it takes off and becomes less expensive.

(For people who don't know: 21+Con was designed by older anime fans and gamers for older anime fans and gamers so that they don't need to deal with younger kids and teenagers at the convention. It provides a more mature atmosphere, but is in no way a pornography convention or anything like that. It's just people fed up with the lack of control some of the kids who go to the cons have now.)

Anyway, hope to see people at the cons. Should be good times. Also, really hoping that some of the fellows from Rooster Teeth Productions come back to the east coast cons again so that I can get a rematch with Joel (Caboose in RvB) at pool. Been practicing.

~デンキヒツジ

(Long English Version)
O.o while I was away, somehow my pages views supassed the 1000 mark. I was planning on doing a special deviation for that event, but alas I have missed it. So, I'm working on some other things that I should be posting soon, including an updated user pic, since my DenkiHitsuji one is based on me a few years ago.

Still planning on playing with the: "Do Andriods Dream of Electric Sheep" idea from the book with the same title by Andy Dick (the book the movie "Bladerunner" is based on btw), but I'm looking to incorperate some of my other hobbies/favorite series into it as well. Confirmed we already have Taikoubou and a Tachikoma. So I guess we'll see. It should also serve as a sneak peak to my costume for Otakon 2009 (only in the prop's department).

Also, I'm going to work on a 2000 views deviation now x,x incase it ever gets that high so I'm ready this time.

I posted 4 "new" Deviations today, although they were all from my old PC I used back in junior highschool. People seem to like the milkypen look, so I'm thinking about bringing that back. I broke the stylus to my tablet the other day so I'm try to color on here more. Anyway though, the new ones are mostly of an old character I used to use in online RPG message boards, and with her I also posted the concept art for a D&D character I was playing about a year ago. (That one is obviously newer). I half posted the old ones to show how I started (I used to immitate CLAMP art from the early 1990's) and from there things have changed quite a bit. I'm definitly seeing my work resembling more of Fujisaki-sensei's style and the style that The Slayers (and following Series)/Lost Universe were drawn in now. Perhaps I'm just going back to basics.

Also, new Wallpaper screen shot. If anyone knows the origional creator of the picture I used (it's inverted in my version), please let me know so I can give them credit. I found it on google images and I can't find the site again.

Then again, who knows. I am sick and tierd of being nearly poisoned/killed by resterants who feel the need to either not list all their ingredients or by their employees who don't listen to orders. Because I'm not like them and able to eat anything on the planet they want to put on a sandwich or over pasta?

I have a serious Tomato allergy and when I was a kid, it wasn't a big deal unless we went to a fast food place, but now even Olive Garden thinks that they have to use sundried tomatos in their white and pesto sauces to be "hip" and "cool" and instead, I end up in the emergency room!

The reason this issue has boiled over is that I was at Subway tonight and I was told that my near poisoning by them having put tomatos all over my sandwhich was my fault. They blamed me for having the allergy and being unreasonable when I told them to remake the sandwich correctly. Then they blamed my father who placed the origional order from my written order taken at home. He was kind enough to go out for me to pick the order up because I've been ill for the last few weeks.

The manager at the store was condescending and smug. He made fun of me, played up for his manager, and was all around a serious dick. They also batted around, out loud, the idea of charging me for the new sandwhich even though they're the ones who messed the first one up. They would not take responcibility and treated me like shit.

I have a complaint filed with the Subway Corperate HQ, which I'm sure will do nothing, but I've also contacted the state food and health inspectors about them. My biggest impact I think is that I'm going to post this message everywhere I can think of and spread the word, so if you've had a similar allergy close call with any resterant, please blog about it where ever you can. Let's stop these morons before someone else dies like that poor girl in Canada who died from cheese getting on the tongs that served her french fries.

Thought I’d post in and not talk about the normal stuff, but about something in the news. I listen to NPR (National Public Radio) using their live feed at work, and a story struck me as quite interesting the other day. As apart of the Olympics coverage, a number of news and entertainment groups have been doing interviews with people in Beijing. One of these stories seems to have stirred the pot on NPR and on their web site and I figured I’d throw my two cents in.

The story is called “THE MUSIC OF CHINA'S SA DINGDING” By Virginia Prescott on AUGUST 12, 2008.
[link]

People are in an uproar apparently about a comment that the singer made in answer to a question about Tibet. I encourage people to not only read the excerpt on the linked page above, but to listen to the live stream because it’s quite a bit longer and the actual question is only in the sound bit.

Ms. Sa Dingding is a C-Pop singer who is being put forward by China as a kind of cultural ambassador through her music to the rest of the world. She is half Mongolian (Mother is a Nomad herder) and half Han Chinese (which is the vast majority of Chinese). She speaks Chinese (Unsure which dialect) and Tibetan, as well as a language she created to truly illustrate how feeling can show through music even when you cannot understand the lyrics. She sings in all three languages (rather beautifully if you ask me). She also seems to speak pretty good English and does the majority of the interview speaking directly with the interviewer.

When asked about her position on Tibet, she says that (I’m paraphrasing) historically, China has a knack for assimilating other ethic groups existing within China and even though they retain their way of life and in some cases their language, they eventually become Chinese. She’s Right! China has done this throughout history. Even invading armies and rulers eventually become “Chinese”. It is an interesting cultural occurrence that does not happen normally.

Now, what she said, has people insanely mad. They have their war drums out and pounding that she is furthering the Chinese Government’s agenda and is anti-Tibet. I think everyone needs to chill for a moment. All you can really assume from what she said was that she hopes for better cultural understanding, as she is at the intersection of two cultures already, and she believes that Chinese people will listen and enjoy Tibetan songs (ie: they will enjoy and value a piece of Tibetan Culture).

It is undoubted that she has been encountering the Chinese Government’s misinformation campaign for her whole life (she’s 25), but her answer was not scripted by the government, nor was it militant of a brain washed follower. She sounds like many of my friends of about the same age in Japan when asked about WWII, they are not sure about everything you ask them because they simply do not have enough information to form a solid opinion. They want to know more, but it is difficult to obtain the information. She did not say anything negative about Tibet in the interview.

So put the drums away and have a little faith in the new generation in China. Speaking Tibetan, Sa Dingding has a lot of options open to her. What she has already done with her music is a big set towards cultural relativity. It is harder for the Chinese Government to stamp out the Tibetan culture as long as the language exists and is valued. So what she ahs already done is a huge step, even if it was somewhat unintentional. Every year, the control over the Chinese people loosens, corrupts, and becomes more, shall we say, faux-Communist. As this happens, the people first in the cities will be heard, and then it will eventually spread to the outlying areas. As this strengthens, we may seen the big singers in China and the big actors, stepping up and taking on causes that they feel strongly about as their counterparts do in the West and some other areas of Asia. Sa Dingding is just the right age and the right mix of origins to be influential with the following generations, as well as her own. Plus she has an amazing voice.

I’m Pro-Tibet, but I’m also Pro-Cultural Relativity. Even if Tibet wins independence back with the help of the rest of the world, China and Tibet need to learn to co-exist again so that the hard won freedom gives the people on both sides hope for a better future. What better way to begin that process than with the international language of music?

~Denki Histuji
(Electric Sheep)

(Sorry work computer today, no Japanese again >.<;

(and I'm dead tierd x,x; Was there all 3 days, and also for thursday's setup (got off of third shift and drive the 2 hours to Hartford. Ended up helping organize the Manga Libarary for the Con and then headed to a friend's house to crash.)

Was there for the first part of Friday in My black trenchcoat and a Doctor Who T-Shirt with a friend doing a cosplay from the Episode "The Lost Child" complete with gasmask and Doctor Plushie. Was surprised and delighted to see so many Doctor Who fans at the con!

Second part of Friday and all Day Saturday I was there as Major Motoko Kusanagi in my much improved UN Uniform and without a wig because I grew out my hair and dyed it this time. Looking for some photos of this btw, if anyone has one of me;; My camera is broken. I thought it was out of batteries but it was totaled when I got to the con.

Sunday I was with one of the Con staffers and we were both dressed in Yukatas and Kitty ears/tails. I had a Mandragora Hat (black) on to celebrate the beginning of the Sunbreeze Festival in Final Fantasy XI on as well.

Was awsome to see so many con friends and to meet so many new ones. Really enjoyed hanging out with some of the industry guests as well. Kevin McKeever did an awsome pannel on Anime in China and he also attended the Dating for Nerds Pannel and told the best Dating Horror Story I've ever heard, and Jess Hartley was an absolute delight even though she had a rough weekend when her flight was delayed and the hotel canceled her reservation on her >.<;; Learned a lot from them both.

Want to also thank Clayton L. McNally for sitting down with me after his pannel on Friday and really walking me though publication options for Space Opera Novels. I've gotta work on raising the startup money now, but it really raised my confidence at getting my book out at some point. I learned more in a 30 minute conversation than I have in 3 years of online research into publication.

And last but certainly not least, want to thank Jigen (He knows who he is if he's reading this) for rescuing me from the crazy guy working the line for the Dealer's Room. Always good to talk to you *L* we only see one another at cons, but it's always interesting.

Work computer = no Japanese >.<;;

~DenkiHitsuji

OK, not dead x,x although I kinda feel like I am. Still here, I promise. I appologise to anyone who left me a message since febuary. I've been occupied with recovering from surgery and not checking my account, also, my tablet went on a little journey to get repaired, so no JP text support. More appologies;;

Posting actually because I was at Anime Boston, although I nearly had to go to the ER due to that 7 hour check in line x,x; Was walking around as one of the characters from my novel on Friday morning and Sunday (blue military bomber jacket with a hereldic patch on the sleve and spiky black hair), and was there as Major Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Second Gig, on Friday Night and Saturday. Made the costume myself (Gold U.N. Uniform). If anyone saw me and got a picture could I trouble you for a copy? All of mine aren't too awsome x,x [link]

Going to be at Conneticon in August. Looking forward to it. Also, planning on Otakon for 2009. AB pissed me off too much this year I think to go back. We'll see. Gonna see if I can use my own hair and not a wig this time around at Conneticon for Motoko. Also lost 40 lbs. We'll see if my costume even fits now x.x;;

Unfortunatly, no new hand done art atm. with my tablet gone I'm kinda stuck, but working on some nice photography shots to upload hopefully when my poor tablet comes home. Going to see about getting some better pics of my costume and putting them up too. My FFXI friends are kidding me right now that I look too much like my character from some of the older shots >.> and my character is most definitly male. Makes me laugh.

In othew news, I duno if I said it before, but I'm in love with Doctor Who >.> Yea that's right. I like BBCA. Proud of it. Also, I'm in a test campaign for D&D4E starting this coming week. Playing a Bow and Arrow Style Ranger who has escaped from the circus! Gasp! I've been watching Torchwood too if you can't already tell from that description. Ghost in the Shell remains my main facination atm though. Loving every moment of my DVD box sets and my USB Tachikoma (Dennou Chogokin Tachikoma) is now joined with 12 other model types. They have staged a take over of my room. Reminds me a bit more of Fuchikoma if you ask me >.> but they chatter incessantly about Mr. Batou so they're not all evil. (I'm not kidding either, the Chogokin one talks.)

And in totally other news. I bought some art done by a girl who was in Artist's Alley at Anime Boston this year. It was of Taikoubou, Fukki, and Ou Tenkun. I don't know her name, but I know she was a little surprised when I bought it. Apparently it had been a slow weekend for her. I really enjoy the photo. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside that other people still love and remember Houshin Engi outside Japan. Anyway, if they by chance see this post, I want you to know that I'm enjoying it and if you let me know who you are I'd like to favorite it on here, since I remember there being a card for DA on the table, but I neglected to pick one up when I had a chance without a ton of people crowding me out of being by the table. (Artist's Alley was a little too cramped this year x,x)

That's about it for me. Catch you all laters.

~DenkiHitsuji

Well, been a while since I updated this, mostly because I've been working weird rotating shifts the last few months. Haven't had a lot of time to myself. Getting out from under the weight of some personal matters as well that have had me down. But anyway, I'm back!

I promise I'll get to the messages I have on here as soon as I have time, there's quite a few. My appologies. Always surprises me that I get favs on one picture in particular. Wish I knew how the heck did that one x.x it's been over 10 years and I haven't been able to do it again with any other character. Resorting to some drawing lessons from friends and books to try and hone my skill enough to draw my own characters better.

About the only creative thing I've been doing is writing, and I've written a lot, although not what I was supposed to be working on. Tried to do National Novel Writing Month and ended up with the requisite number of words, but not all in the same story, so I didn't "win" that one, although I got some good work done. Hitting 90k (I think was the goal) words for me isn't that hard, but I seem to have a hard time with time limits when writing. Couldn't focus on the story I started for it and ended up completing 3 other ones I started during the second week of the month x,x oh well. Got something done at least.

Working on my costume(s) for Anime Bostone, now that I know I'm going to be able to go. Looks like I'm locked in on working with one of the characters from my novel (already spent over 100$ on that one so it's happening no matter what). The rational, which might seem odd at first, is a bit complicated. I wanted to find a character no one would recognise, but that I still like to go as. I'm going to be having surgery soon (or at least that's the plan) and from what I've heard, getting hugged too tight could be bad for stitches, if not fatal for blood loss, so to encourage people not to glomp, tackel, or in any way touch me, figured it would be better to use my own character. She makes me feel good knowing I made her and she looks awsome. I'll post my patch scan when it comes in the mail, had the military patches custom made by a place that specializes in police and government patches.

Second costume (this one is up in the air) might be a group project with the people going with me to make the Dragons of Heaven's uniforms from Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations (the green ones). Not sure if this one is going to happen, but I like the look of the new uniforms a lot and they would definitly be something I would wear on a normal basis anyway. They remind me a bit of hoodie coats. Guess I'll update on that later.

I'm going to try to get the pics of me from last year posted on here once I find a good way to blur my face out. Not comfy putting them up otherwise. My SMN costume was pretty cool though. Glad I'm not working with fleece this year, although Micro Suede is proving to be tougher than I thought. Damn you Polyester! Luckily my cosplay usually looks better than my drawings.

Anyway, rambeling and I'm almost positive no one reads these posts *L* so Happy New Year, may it be filled with more happyness than sorrow than the last.
I also am a huge fan of pumpkin muffins *L* so yes, this is perfect. I'm sitting here in my halloween costume, which I know isn't until 2 more weeks, but today is the Pumpkin Festival (and I've never needed an exscuse to dress up before). I could seriously do this every day.

I got my hair cut as well to look like my character. Short and spikey, just the way I like it ^^. I just wish I looked a bit more like my character in the ways that I dont have as much control over x.x;;

I haven't been drawing much, instead I've been working with my new scanner and tablet trying to learn how to control everything to get the effects I want. There is stuff coming I swear x,x

Also, I'm getting ready for National Novel Writing Month (Which is really international). I routeinly produce over 50,000 words in stories, but I've never had a time limit before. If anyone's interested the website is: [link] (my account is under: Taikoubou) It starts November 1st if you wanna join!

So have a Happy Halloween!
Thank you to everyone who favorited me or befriended me in my absence. I will write you all back as soon as finals and graduation are over.
Also, it looks like I might be panneling at Ctcon this year about my experiences in Japan. Should be fun!
Anyway, I've gotta run, gonna see if I can hook up my scanner after all. I have some cool new sketches I would like to get posted, as well as some new and improved styles. A friend of mine has taught me a lot recently about drawing and I think it's finally sinking in!

Sorry for the delay~ It's finals for the next two weeks and the last two weeks were all papers >.< No time to rest at all and I'm sooooooo sick....again. Will it ever end? Viscious cycle!

Anway, gearing up to head back to America soon. I'll be back on FFXI soon guys! I have some new drawings, but they're not scanned because I have no scanner access again. Seems like everything is repeating huh?

Final preperations have been made of OtaCon in Baltimore this year. I'll also be working Pansacon in New Hampshire later this fall/winter (New Hampshire just has a snow season and a mud season, they meld together usually), and then I'll be at Anime Boston as well. Ahhhh so much to do. We're also putting the final touches on figuring out what kind of tablet to order. There's been some new discussion on the topic recently. I'm still leaning towards the Origami though. The New Vaio looks awsome, but it seems like it would be too easy to break carrying it around O.o And I don;t think they have a tablet version out yet. I'm just going off seeing the adds in the trains and then what I saw in Odaiba at Aqua City at the Sony Store last weekend. BTW, was at the Jump Shop exposition at AquaCity on Saturday. They still had nothing for Houshin Engi /cry.

Anyway, I shoud be calmer after next Tuesday so I can get back to posting normally again. Last final is that afternoon. (Tuesday Japan time btw...)

So yea.... 待ったね!

Hi everyone, I wanted to make this available to everyone so here it is! I'm going to be doing some beginner Japanese lessions on deviant art from the following account. I just made it, so there is nothing there yet, but this is the place to watch if you're looking to get into basic Japanese reading. My goal is to help people read basic manga (By Basic I mean anything with Furigana - not little kids stuff), and later to be able to watch unsubtitled anime with a good understanding for what is going on. I can't promise that it will be easy, or that you will be fluent by the end, but I think it will be fun ^^ and that it will be a good starting place for anyone who wants to learn some Japanese.

So I invite you all to join in the fun! 日本語を勉強しましょう! This is the link: [link] if you could, please spread the word on DA and to anyone who might be interested that you might know.

See you soon!

I`m Back! ただいま！ Okinawa ( 沖縄 ) was awsome!　We had a great time. Although the food there is a little odd... It was great to sit on the beach for the first time in a few years. It was very hot there >.< a little too much at times, but so much fun. I`ve become addicted to Shisa also. They`re adorible! I made one while I was there, or painted at least, so I will take a photo of it and post it this week. I also got some really nice photos that will make their way here some time in the very close future.

Okinawa was origionaly the Ryukyu Kingdom, which was a sub set of China. Japan came in and conqured it, but the island still bares a lot of Chinese archetecture and they have their own dialect that they still speak every day. We also got to see cultural dance and hear some songs. I learned a few words in Okinawan, but they`re rather hard to say after speaking Japanese for so long.

Either way, it was a great trip. pictures to come!
It was a little strange. The doctor spoke good English, but no one else in the office did! It was ok though because I understood almost everything they said.

Well, the typhoon has decreased in power after hitting China yesterday so it looks like it won't be as bad as we thought, but still it's going to rain for my entire vacation oh well. A break is a break. No games this week though, had to cancel all 3 because of my persistant illness that has been plaguing me for so long. It won't go away and I have lost my voice!

Still writing, but I went to Art Club yesterday and got some good drawing done. Got a cute pannel running for Will Save, worked some more on fixing my FMA pic, and an awsome Chibi that I will upload after my trip. The people were all very nice ^^ I wish I had been able to talk more, but my voice was so shot by then

I got a header made today ^^ It's the same design as the Will Save web page (Which hasn't launched, but is made). Will Save is sporting a Green, Black, and White system, my header is sporting Cornflowerblue, Black, and white though because blue is kind of my tag color. I'm still trying to figure out how to get so many icons on the footer, but that can be done later. I've got to get back to writing. I was lucky that my 日本語先生 didn't give me any homework for the weekend! /dance

Anyone see the giant Typhoon headed for Okinawa?! I'm supposed to be there in a week! What's with all this bad weather all of a sudden. I haven't seen the sun in weeks!

Mood: Happy?
Listening to: 19才 ~ スガシカオ xxxHOLiC opening
Reading: ツバサ RESErvoir CHRoNiCLE vol 7

Ok so I was at work today and I ended up getting to scan some unfinished manga for my boss. This has already had the tones applied, but no text that isn't hand written by the author. The scans are for previews for ROBOT (C) but they were massive. Like over a 100mgs each and the computer I was assigned didn;t have the memory to move that kinda file around well. It took over an hour to edit one of the scans. What a mess. It was fun though. Got to figure out how to use a version of photoshop (C) that I've never seen before. I'm still using 5.0 >.> ;;

The countdown to Okinawa has begun! Next Wednesday I will be there typhoon or not! I'm not letting the weather ruin my vacation >.<

Got drawing yesterday on a new Fullmetal Alchemist ( 鋼の錬金術師 ) sketch and I thought it looked wonderful at the time. I'm looking at it right now and it stinks *sigh* better luck next time I guess. Their eyes really stump me. Arukawa-sensei is a boggle to my brain some times. When I get it inked and scanned I'll post it up for everyone to laugh at. It's kinda of weird, but Winry is the hardest one of all of them to draw and this is a big group shot with Al, Ed, Roy, Winry, and Hughes in it. You'd think she would be the easiest (Al ended up as the easiest O.o I duno how though. He's a big suit of armor that should be hard). I didn't space it right though so Ed is mostly off the page. I need a bigger sketch book so I stop doing this.

Still working on the monstrocity, only I'm back to editing now. I've got Cor on the case though as my proof reader ^^ it's a big help!

Anyway, I'm dead from working all day and then having to stand on the train the whole way home. Some of these sallery men could really learn to offer a seat to the poor, in pain, kids on the train >.< They sit for 2 stops and then someone else who looks exactly liked them takes their place! Oh the agony. I had my foot stepped on like 8 times today and I could have used a seat

So I'm headed out. Gonna sleep and write a little. 待ったね!

I'm really tierd! I've been sick for over a week now with a variety of different things. It's like a never ending cycle of feeling crappy >.<

Most of my energy has been going into my novel, which is almost done. The only thing is that whenever I think that it is almost finished, I remember how much I actually have left to do and it seems like it will never be done . Here's the current standings. This is written in Microsoft Word (C), single spaced in 10pt font:

I love it to death, and I'm very proud of it, but at the same time... it eats up all of my life some days >.< . I half wonder what will consume my life when I finally finish this thing. I've taken it calling it the Monstorcity now because of this since the series name doesn't seem to do it justice anymore. I think I'll finally take a job to 75 when I finish on FFXI. That would be nice ^^ ;;

In other news, sneaking men into a women'd only dorm is a funny activity. Some men just don't look feminine at all. We had to dress them in sickness masks and hoddies to get them past the security cameras. It was a good set of sessions though. Both the big game and the short game are going well. The girl players seem a little more committed to making it ontime than the guys do, quite the opposite of normal when I play in America.

Also, looking forward to a few days coming up in Okinawa! I need a vacation so bad! This weekend I'm headed to an animation museum though, that shoudl be fun ^^ I really want to draw some more again but I've just been too exhausted to pick up my pencil. Thinking about joining the Art Club at my 大学but it's still up in the air.

Anyway, I think that was the jist of what I origionally typed. I'm so tierd so I'm going to head out. 待ったね!

Well maybe not that interesting, but we'll see. Got my schedual for the next few months yesterday, figured I'd share a little. I'm headed to Okinawa a week from Wednesday! So excited! I need a vacation >.< Been sick for a few days now and it's not going away.

Running two games here in Tokyo, one is requiring my male players to dress in drag to get into the building where we're playing. It's quite funny. I have such devoted players! One of the games is based on Yami no Matsuei (not on a Nihongo computer at the moment, so sorry for no pretty Kanji. it's called Descendants of Darkness in the USA and is being released by Viz). That game has two players only, but it works really well, and the other is a game based on a fantasy story I have been working on. We have the following characters: a hobo who can summon rats >.> ;;, a Gadegteer/Stand Up Philosopher, a girl with a really big sword O.O , a Pirate Psyonicist, a healer , and a.....something I cant remember the name for. I'm NPCing a bard, FFXI style, based on my 65 one for them so they can have someone to fall back on in bad situations ^^ ;;.

Anyway, they're both going good. I haven't drawn much recently, but I'm working on some character sketches for the games, so there might be some additions soon. Mostly, when I have been drawing, I've been working on rough drafts for Will Save. They're really rough >.< but I got to see the tablet drawing session at Comita (Yes I know I keep changing the name of this con >.< ) so I learned a lot from that.

Also, registered for Otacon! My slip finally came to my e-mail last week. Very excited. I'll also be at Pansacon this winter, and at Anime Boston 2007 ^^ y So much fun!

Been reading a lot though. Made some discoveries! Get Backers is a really easy read O.o , like I get through a book in a day and it's an awsome series. Beware of reading it on the train though.... some of the femal characters need to wear more clothing in some section and it looks weird when the girl gaijin is reading a shounen comic with nudity >.< yea learned my lession. Awsome series though, also 「ツバサ RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE」is a really easy read. Go CLAMP! Season 2 just started! They're soooooo cute! Season 1 ends at book 8 by the way. I'm on book 7, Sei-Chan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 「xxxHOLiC」is an anime now too, on episode 5 here and it's following the manga, only with less gore. Looks like they didn't wanna kill everyone in the anime, so same plot lines, but nicer outcomes. It's good. The music is awsome too! The same guy who did the theme for the movie is going the opening. It's called１９才 and it's by スガシカオ, I don;t know why his name is in katakana, but it's jazz and it's amazing! The single came out last Wednesday and I highly recomend it!

Also, the art book for Fujisaki-sensei got delayed till the end of June you can get the info on your Keitai or on the [link] site, they appologise for the inconvience, it's coming out through Shueishia and there are previews on the site if you go down and click the links in the news bubble on page 1.

Ok well that explains the confusion, this wasn't a doujin convention like fan comics, this was an origional comics convention, but that's not all that was there! I baught some very beautiful art, and I got a manga that was made by a young woman who had her table near our staging area. I kept going over to look and we got talking. She was so nice! I love her work. I'll post her website when have the strength to walk again. We did from 9am-5pm with 2 breaks of about 5 minutes and then about a half an hour to walk around and check out the other vendors. But yea it was all standing so I can't move might now. Already fell asleep on the train on the way home and then took a 3 hour nap tonight.

Well, my job was to prevent theft of the merchandise for GoFa and I can say proudly that nothgin was stolen! Not even the little, itty, bitty, not tied down, figureins we had on display. We had to stop people from taking pictures too, although it's really hard to tell if they're taking a photo or texting >.<

We had work from the Robot (C) Super Color Comics on display today, encluding modles, art, books, and clothing from Range Murata's private line. For more information on Robot (C) try here: [link] . We also had art books from the artists we promote at MATT and GoFa on display as well.

We also had artists come in and draw through a tablet (in what I think was the Japanese version of Illistrator(C) Adobe Corp.) I got to see a lot of very famous artists and...... AND!!!!!! I got to meet Range Murata Sensei! He came over and he spoke english with no accent to us O.o We were stunned.

But yes! It was an awsome day, even though I can't move now. I feel so inspired!

So, if anyone reading this was at Comete today at the Tokyo Big Site, and they saw a Gaijin girl in all back with a blue strip of hair running around the GoFa area, yea that was me!

Anyway, while I can still drag myself to bed I'm going to. おやすみなさい!

Well I think I mistranslated something my boss said to me, but he did mention Comiket, which is not this friday, so I have no idea what convention we're actually going to. All I know is that we're working with Pinky St. modles and with our own art collection. We might be as Doll Show 15, which is at the Tokyo Big Site in Odaiba, but then again, we could be going just about anywhere. I'll update again when I have more details. Even so, if you're in the tokyo area and you like Pinky St., then come check us out! Also, if you enjoy Comic, Animation, Sci-Fi, or SFX art come check us out too! We're multi genre friendly!

こんにちわみなさん！

I`m back after a few weeks in limbo and without internet. I`m feeling so much better to be back in Japan again! Not much is going on. I`m looking for a scanner so I can post some of my new sketches. I have some rough drafts for the web comic I was talking about before. Looking into getting one of the new Microsoft Origami computers in August so I can finally put my skills to the test and make some stuff that looks good.

The new school year in Japan starts this week (or next week depending on the school) Our entrance ceremony here is tomorrow, but I have to miss it to go to an interview. I am in a program this semester that basically is like an intership would be in the USA, every wednesday I get to go to a Japanese company and work for them in order to study the organizion of the Japanese business place. I have lucked out though! I am going to work for a company called GoFA (Gallery of Fantastic Art). They are a group that preserves and displays art from Games, Comics and SFX. They also have a museum. (click here for details: [link]) So I am very excited!

In other art news, the last volume of the release of Fujisaki Ryu-sama`s　仙界伝 封神演義　came in for me yesterday so all inside Japan shipments should have been recieved by now. I`m not sure why Fukki`s hair is white all of a sudden, but it is beautiful. I love it. Also the Plushie of 望ちゃん is soooooooo cute! I love it!! I`m thinking about doing a sketch of the new covers sometime soon. I have one started of Kou Kibi from cover number 4 already, but I neglected to do the Kijin or the other fellow (forgive me I forgot his name) so more might get added to that one. I`m just in love with these new designs and I love that Fukki has made such a triumphant return to the last cover. I was a little afraid that he would be looked over for characters that had a little more page time. Yay for 16th aniversaries!

Anyway, that`s all from me for now. 待ったね！

I've been thinking a lot lately about why it is that I get so attatched to the characters that I play in games (video and tabletop). Started talking to some friends about it and they all found that they generally feel the same way, so why?

At first we were thinking that it had something to do with the amount of time invested. The average Video game RPG takes about 60hours to complete on the first time through. That's a decent about of time to get the feel for a character. We disproved that though because I can think of tons of games that I have playes all the way through and I have no attatchment to the characters at all.

So the first decision we came to: You have to like the character to begin with. There has to be something about them that you like. They can grow on you, but you don't get attatched to the ones that piss you off.

Next we found that you need to add the time element. This was more for table top, but if you only play a character for one session then you don't get attached to them.

After that came how much time did you put into making them. The characters that we have made that have indepth histories and characteristics we tend to remember better and they come up in conversation more often. Also the characters that have the chance to do amazing things stay with us longer.

So what about video games then? I know that I get pretty defensive about some of the characters from those who I like. I get into lots of arguments (good natured ones mind you) about Squall from FFVIII, who everyone other than me seems to hate >.< ;; I guess the jury is still out.

MMORPG's on the other hand I can vouch for. My Taikoubou on FFXI is one of my all time favorites. I talk about him a lot, I also spend an absorbident amount of time playing >.> ;; Perhaps this is because he's my representative in that world. I also have control over everything he says, so I know that I am in control. I'm not sure.

I do know that I love to game and I will only play characters that I like. It can be any range of character, from a sociopathic sniper to a police psychic. Out of my table top characers right now, I think my version of Count Cain C. Hargreaves (Count Cain Series by Kaori Yuki (C) published in Hana to Yume (C) Magazine in Japan) who is a D&D (3.5) Rogue, Alchemist, Herbalist. He is not designed for combat, but instead is a kind of detective character (A skill user). I'm having a blast playing him. At the same time I'm enjoying Kou Kirokugakari and her beat stick methodology.

The true test is coming though. At some point in the future I'm going to be playing myself in a campeign. That should prove interesting.

I'm going to try to post some of my character sheets somewhere so some of my posts make a little more sense. Some of the characters might tell a little about me as well, as much as I tell so much about them. Maybe that is the answer to the question. Can the character tell about you? The ones that can seem to be the ones that stay with you the longest. So what do they say about us?

Kou Kirokugakari (Crescent) was the character of the night tonight! I finally got a chance to flex some Senin muscle. Two handed light sabres and drunk off her butt! I went all drunken master on the bad guy, a light blue tinted avitar of Pride. He was able to do about 120 points of damage a hit. Needless to say that I was doding a lot *L*.

Here's how it went:

Crescent and one of the other team members (a techy) were driving to the hospital to help out in guarding some other members who were injured in the previous session. While in the downtown area of the city (I think it's Chicago), the car gets hit and thrown into a building. We get out with minimal damage, but find ourselves being faced with this blue super human who is very over confident.

The bad guy starts making passes at Crescent, but she doesn't speak english very well being Chinese, so she kinda shrugs it off thinking he's just some loony super human. She and her companion start attacking. After several hits, they start to notice that the techy can't damage the guy and her attacks are being regenerated too fast for the damage to stack.

Several attacks get thrown by the bad guy, taking the techny down dangerously low. He leaves combat for a round to go to the hardware store to buy spray paint. Crescent keeps just whacking at the guy, who is so confident that he's just soaking all the damage.

The techy comes back and tries to spray the guy in the eyes, they scuffle for a round or so and the techy goes down. The bad guy goes back to learing at Crescent. She knows she's in a bad situation, so what does she do? She eats a peach!

This isn't any regular peach though, this is a Senin peach, soaked in sake. It gets her drunk, but here's the trick, she gets bonuses instead of negative effects from it because of her special training back in Konron by Genshintensama. Drunken Master, she started to make the guy worry. The attacks ger stronger and she shrugs off massive amounts of damage like she doesn't even notice.

Another of her companions arrives and he tries to grapple and some other attackes before the blue guy drops him as well.

It's do or die time, so I start pushing all my energy into my attacks. I power up for one last hurrah and add in Burning (damage over time attack), Stop healing (Haults regeneration), and massive damage and I take two more swings. My MP goes down from 180 to 60 in one round (when you hit 1 you pass out by the way). I go in and do a crap load of damage. He starts to panic.

Because he's an avitar of Greed, when he loses confidence he loses any bonuses he might have (-6). He tries to fight back and fumbles miseribly. Crescent comes back in for another two hits and drops him right in the alley way.

So I've got 40 Health and 57 Energy and I sit down, eat the rest of my peach, and good an drunk now, I call my friends in Japan and have a nice long phone call on the employer's phone bill (He won the lottery so he can afford it). Ir remains to be seen if I'm going to be conscious enough after this to remember to call the hopsital to come get my unconscious friends or not, but damn it felt good to kick some butt!

This is my first beat stick character I've ever made, so this is pretty exciting. I've never had an effective combat character before. Now if only she can figure out American culture she has a chance.

Genshinten-sama would be proud! As would Bou-Chan had they seen this fight.

Hello Deviant Art fans! (can you tell I've never done this before? >.>;; ) I'm Denki Hitsuji　（デンキヒツジ） and welcome to my corner of the universe. Since this is my first post, I suppose I should explain my name, because if you straight translate it...it makes no sense.

I am an insane fan of a Mangaka by the name of Fujisaki Ryu. He's the author of: Senkaiden Houshin Engi (23 volumes), Sakura Tetsu Taiwahen (2 Volumes), Dramatic Irony, Worlds, WaqWaq (4 Volumes), Psycho+ (2 Volumes), as well as many short stories, all published by Jump Magazine in Japan. He is a big Science-Fiction fan (as am I) and he descided to play a word game in the middle of Senkaiden Houshin Engi Volume 22. One of the chapter markers has a picture (the same one as my icon but much larger) that is is a picture of Fukki, out main protagonist by this point, and he is wearing a black T-Shirt with the words Denki Hitsuji written across it in Katakana (The Japanese written alphabet for foreign words). Simply translated this means "Electric Sheep". The refference is not overly apparent.

Back in the 1980's a movie called Blade Runner came out starring Harrison Ford. It's a Sci-Fi classic; very dark, post appoclyptic look at humans, earth and andriods that addresses the age old question, are andriods human enough to be considered 'alive'?

This movie was based on a book called "Do Andriods Dream of Electric Sheep?" by Philip K. Dick. The book is rather different from the movie, but is indeed a good read, and I recomend it if you like post appoclyptic Sci-Fi. That brings us back to the shirt. Why would a character from a manga, based on a 15th century Ming Dynasty folk legend, based on an actual historic set of events in the 6th century BCE, be wearing a shirt that says "Electronic Sheep"? Because this book is really popular amongst the English fluent population of Japan of course! I actually bought my copy of it in the 7floor book store across the street from Tokyo Station to be honest.

Over all, I think this ties into the theme of my corner here. I love Sci-Fi and I love Manga art. I write Sci-Fi and I try to draw in a Manga style (mostly taking my lead from Fujisaki-sama). I want this to be a blend of these two interests, like the chapter marker was. At the same time, Houshin Engi is also a fantasy story, and I play a heck of a lot of RPG's (table top and video). I like to draw my characters and write background stories for them that might make appearances here as well.

So, here's my mission statment of sorts: I am going to use this space to post my works of fantasy, sci-fi, and manga. I hope that the people who stop in enjoy it and I would love to hear from you ^^.

I love feedback, but please don't tell me that I need a new scanner because I already know that >.<;; I also need a tablet so I can actually edit my sketches. I will do my best to keep updated, but keep in mind I live in Japan half the year and internet there is very expensive. At the moment all I have is bad paper, plastic electric pencils, and a scanner so ancient that the company doesn't support the drivers anymore, but soon I hope to be obtaining a tablet so I can draw directly into my computer's art programs and make some really cool stuff. (The mouse on my Dell is shot so I can't edit much at the moment).

Also, some time in the next year or so, there is a web comic that I am involved in that is going to be starting up called "Will Save". I'll post the link when we get going, but it's going to be a new twist on the traditional web comic so I hope everyone will enjoy it.

Anyway, I hope to hear from you and please enjoy m(_ _)m
