I'd like to update you all on what progress the Helpers have made over the past couple of weeks behind the scenes here at DAS.

Thank you to those that took the time to vote and comment in the recent poll asking how long DAS should wait before creating a new email address.

In response to that poll, we will advise the activation of a new temporary email account to receive secrets at the start of March.  This is to give the DAS main admin some more time to return before we open up the new email address to secrets.

I'm taking the highly unusual step (for a Helper) in posting a journal to update you all on the current status of DeviantArtSecret.

You may have noticed that we have not been submitting secrets over the past month.  If you have sent a note to DAS, you may be wondering why it has not been responded to.

We started off with over 800 emails, we are now down to 682 emails.  Out of the 118+ emails we have been though, ALL of them have not been accepted.
Not because we did not want to accept them. But mainly because of the following reasons.
-No secret added ( secret is written out in the email, but not on a photo or a drawing, MUST be an image not just txt )
- Not giving Cite for the image used

This is pretty much a dead give away that "reply" is the secret teller, but is trying to cover themselves up, as they realise they gave themselves away.

This is due to issues regarding one or more secret submitters wanting to have their secrets removed for one reason or another.

From the time this journal is posted onwards, we will only accept secrets that are either plain text on a background, or use images from deviantART stock resources. Included in our shoutboard are stock artists who are happy to have you use their work for secrets.

In future this may change, but for now our hands are tied in regards to the issue.

Self Taken Images
Due to copyright issues, DAS can no longer accept submissions that contain self-taken images. This is due to a number of secret tellers changing their minds and asking for the secret to be removed. Unless everyone who sends in a secret also signs an image release form, DAS cannot use your image.
