Its actually a really really cool book regardless of the fact I'm in it theres some absolutely outstanding examples of erotic artwork, mine lookes pretty sad in there to be honest, its well worth the money especially if youre into erotica and fetish art & illustration and photography aswell.

Anyway I'm really excited about this so would love it if some of you could check it out (you dont have to buy it, just put sticky fingerprints on it in the shop!)

I'm currently working on three great commissions, just finished the artwork for a soon to be published poetry book, am just waiting for confirmation of when it will be in print, I've nearly finished a series of four tattooed pin-ups (its taking a while due to excessive amounts of detail) I will upload the finished pictures soon. I'm also just starting work on CD cover artwork for UK rock and roll singer Shawn Harvey (www.shawnharvey.com) which is great fun to work on.

I have a few images from my college exhibition to upload soon too, if you cant wait that long please visit my NEW WEBSITE [link]! Its not quite complete but its coming along nicely, im very pleased. This site will not replace the Fairygrotto but will now be my official artist portfolio website, as I am soon registering myself as a sole trader artist business. (wish me luck!)

Well im feeling a bit better, quite a lot better really, just still drained of energy but at least theres no minging puss in my throat anymore an di can swallow without passing out in agony.

Rather liking this week of free subscription, a little too much infact, i really want one but theres absolutely no reason for me getting one, its not economical at all.

Hoping to get back on with some art soon, have to drag myself out of bed and into college to finish my exhibition piece and paint all the boards and stuff for the actual exhibition, shouldbe interesting! Going to Plymouth to see the ever dazzling David on friday though so im focusing on that to keep me going. Its my birthday on the 6th of June so doing some advance celebrations, going to the Eden Project and beachy things so hoping that'll spark some inspiration artistically, if not i'll have some nice photos to show at least!

anyway not really sure why im writing this, seemed like something to do!

Anyway its giving me plenty of time at home and ive been painting when ive not been sleeping or wasting time online. Just finished a mermaid piece which Ive just uploaded as you may have noticed and Ive also been working on a great fun commission which hopefully wont spread my germs nationwide when its sent to my client!

Sold quite a lot of prints lately, am very keen to take any print sales worldwide from my website, I just sold a couple to someone in Norway which is very exciting, Im using Paypal now so everything moneywise couldnt be easier! Im also keen for commissions to get my teeth into, im affordable so dont hesitate to ask me if youre interested in anything!

Ive been a very busy beaver lately, Ive started running an ebay group for UK artists selling their work on ebay called Indepenent Artists of eBay (imaginative i know), i have over 70 members already and its all going swimmingly. Ive also be selling loads of prints on ebay and from my website, about £200 worth in the last week or so which is fantastic as my income was definately not balancing with my outgoings.

Also been working on a private commission and work for college which will be over soon, fear of joining the real world is setting in though im looking forward to having time to do all the money making artistic schemes i have up my sleeve and also being free to hassle Dave while hes trying to work on his thesis bwahahaa!

Halloween night was brilliant, lots of great costumes, a great party, great company, not so great booze and falling down the stairs but i think the pros outweighed the cons!
I spoke to a french cat, an escaped convict and kissed Leatherface, how many girls can say that eh!?

Im plucking up courage to put a pic of my costume on my photo account, i do look quite silly in all of the photos....so watch this space....oh and go see he wore a crusty latex mould of my face for a whole night that deserves some comments people!

I uploaded my elementals series as i consider it to be some of my more original work thats im most proud of, i received two moderators choices on them (on Koi and Salamander) on Elfwood but Epilogue wont even display them! im sure youre all going to think 'wow she needs to get a grip and realise her art isnt THAT good and that some people wont like it' I fully accept that but i feel slighted that just because my style isnt perfectly polished photorealistic not a brushmark in sight fantasy work they think its too crap to be shown, i dont know whether to try uploading a piece in a different style or just to admit defeat and say fuck them if they dont get my style?! but that sounds somewhat arrogant really but i refuse to be brushed aside as a talentless experienceless little kid, wouldnt you feel a bit slighted especially since this is what i do as serious source of income?

now my headaches and im angry and poorly, rant over! on the plus side though ive got the day off college tommorow to go to galleries in Nottingham, theres supposed to be a good exhibition on at the castle and at angel row gallery so we will see! am researching 'public art' for our new commission for a childrens home, its quite challenging thats for sure!

Its nice to see some different faces too, i think i get a few kinds of faces stuck in my head which i base a lot of my images on, variations on the same people (even though it might not look like it) i suppose so its good to see things afresh again!

Halloween plans seem to be going well too ...my muse has returned! well....its on its way back

I got two new commissions, my last one is just finished and hopefully i will be able to upload that image soon with permission from the client (i hate the word 'client', it sounds so impersonal, whats a better word that means the same?)

I havnt been selling much on ebay lately because they messed up my direct debit on my account and i dont trust that its working again properly so everything is going direct through my site at the moment. Im in a perpetual sulk too due to chums suddenly in far flung places, you know who you are. but all will be well soon im sure.

Am working on a project about the concept of abandonment (not of myself but of objects and specifically places) and am encompassing the idea of a post apocolyptic world, after the nuclear holocaust. Ive been looking at atomic age and wartime advertising and artists like Boltanski (is it Christian Boltanski? i forget his 1st name) and have been trawling through the old 80s 'Protect and Survive' government leaflet (what to do in the event of a nuclear holocaust) which has been very informative, if a tad worrying and it has some great diagrams in it...some people may not realise my love of scientific diagrams as its not evident in much of my work here, but I do, i love them!

Anyway im looking for any suggestions for artists or whatever, im looking for inspiration in general really, half of me is dead excited about this project but the other side is bored to death and listless, so any ideas or anything really would be much appreciated!

Ive not been uploading much work this past week or so and I havnt been commenting much, I dont have a rational explanation for this other than 'odd state of mind', im also preparing to go back to college and various things are going on so i suppose ive been busy, if not physically then mentally (if thats not the worse excuse youve ever heard?!) lol
Anyway have the urge to sketch now so maybe I'll have something new to upload shortly, you never know. I have lots of things on the verge of being finished but not a lot of motivation at this prescise moment, soon though!

I bought a new CD too which is a very rare thing for me because im such a cheapskate, its 'Transmissions from the Satellite Heart' by the Flaming Lips, and it has the "she dont use butter she dont use cheese, she dont use jelly, or any of these....she uses vaaaaseline"..on her toast, song on it which is the best thing ever. ummmmm what else?........ I got a new book on the myths and legends of the Rhine from [link] which is a genius book website ive just found and highly recommend, sod amazon this place is amaaazing! ive also got an encyclopaedia of fairies from amazon and am awaiting a 'fairy fashion' book where this man has made real fairy clothes from leaves and petals and stuff in real life and its presented like a couture catalogue, cant wait to see it! heheheh

Im staying with my matey Paul (the one who was in Russia but isnt anymore and is soon going to Korea) who will be my tourguide...and since he knows a thing or two about archeology i might take my trowel just in case...never know we might discover some ancient neolithic .....things. erm yes.

What else, hmmm, ive just ordered a new memory card for my camera and am looking to buy a tripod, if anyone has any recommendations then please let me know because im a total dunce when it comes to equipment!

Ive just registered a new account for all my cheesy photos and photomanipulations, since i do them for fun as a hobby and my illustrations are fun and also passion and dedicated lifelong money making scheme...cunning plan eh? anyway the new account which is currently empty and void of interest is Didis-Darkroom .... even though none of the photos will have even sniffed at a dark room in their lifetime. nevermind!

Also am having a biiiig overhaul of my website, it wont look much different but there will be a proper description of each image with the prices in pounds and euros, im also uploading lots of new images and some new things to the commissions page and trasferring some sold items from the paintings page to the prints page.

I joined the UK Dracula society, its such a laugh! lovely people, ill post a link to their website when i remember what it is.

The dates of my HND end of term Exhibition are (if anyone fancies a visit!)

-11th of June to the 17th of June-

open from about 9:30am to 5pm on the weekdays and from 6:30pm til 8pm on the opening night (there will be crisps and wine !)

My piece is based on 'Dream' as a topic and im really pleased with it so would love if anyone could come and have a look!

I aaaaalso got a brand new camera mmmm lovely loveliness! Its a Fuji Finepix S5000 i think, its very snazzy and i think im going to have to carry the manual at all times because it does all these things i have no idea about. Im not too keen on the black, faux leather finish, reminds me of a posey, tackey mens sportscar, but other than that i cant fault it so far!

What else did i have to mention....oh yes im going away this weekend for much fun in Cambridge, visiting the family and most probably BBQing things so if i dont reply to any comments its because im not here, I will catch up on anything i miss when i get back!

Since we've admitted defeat with selling the house I will have a lot more time and freedom to paint and draw over summer without the constant worry about tidying up because someone might want to snoop around the house. Soooo Ive made some plans for a project to execute! (sounds very serious that)

Basically I'm going to do a series of three, maybe four A3 watercolour paintings based on Russian Mythology and Fairytales/Folklore. One is going to be based on Rusalka, one on Baba Yaga the witch and one on the Snow Maiden, if i do a fourth it will either be Vasilisa or Marya Morevna, i need to re-read all my mythology books before I decide. Anyway this is a big change for me because i usually only spend a lot fo time on work thats for commission purposes or college so finally im doing something of personal interest which im going to invest some quality time into!

I just have to thank my friend Paul for the inspiration for the paintings! He's been living in Russia for two years and looked at my website and said "I want to see some Russian Fairies", he was joking in his lovable geordie way of course but it gave me a spark of inspiration!

Another thing, when ive finished the paintings im thinking of attempting to put together an exhibition, either of just my own work but ideally I'd like to get a few other artists together to produce work on the general theme of 'mythology of different cultures' and show it all together in a venue. Im thinking one of the larger libraries that I work at because its easily accessible and its free to rent exhibition space and you can still sell your work from it. Anyway I live in Nottingham UK so if anyone fairly local wants to talk to me about my idea or wants to get involved (there wouldnt be any money in it unless you sell your work but its exposure at the end of the day!) and it is just an idea in embryo which could take over a year to implement.

but yes, what the hell am i on about, im blabbering on. well done if you stayed with this journal entry to the bitter end! lol

I must apologise for the rather bizzare and varied nature of my work, im a bit of a dabbler in all areas of art and depending on my mood my medium and style will differ slightly from day to day. Hopefully over time and as i add more work a pattern will emerge for everyone to see, there is already a pattern but i think its only visible in my mind!

Anyhoo enough rantings, im really impressed with the standard of everyones work on this site, very inspiring and humbling. We're definately all amongst good company!

I think Ill be mainly putting my digital artwork on here because I do that for myself and dont show many people (so could use the criticism!), unlike my drawings which I have a website for (plug plug plug time...) [link] and i sell them on ebay and stuff which is nice!
erm what else to say...

If youve looked at the first picture, thankyou and I hope you like it, I always have a laugh with photo manipulation so i hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed making it! The person in the picture is me, yes im already regretting uploading it, but the character is sortof a person who exists, partly in my head, partly in drawings and ideas on scrappy bits of paper at the back of my cupboard, Shes Dr Didi Aubergenius, mad scientist, psychiatrist and scooby gang style detective, she has a dog called Nobby who smells. Thats about it really. I'll explain the name tommorow maybe though probably noone really cares and infact, i hate journals, why the hell am i writing this self indulgent nonsense?!? lol
anyway cheers for now whoever has been kind enough to read this, tommorow you will find a bright shiny penny on the pavement for your trouble.
