in a nutshell, i want to offer anyone a chance to design a sticker that will be handed out to hundreds of kids and people in Southern California at a Health Fair put on by MFI Recovery. [link]

This company is a non-profit organization that partners with lots of companies and organizations including the company that i currently work for, and operate solely on donations. THEY DO NOT PAY FOR ANYTHING!! i just want you to know, I dont get $ for this either. i created a few designs last year and it was a rewarding experience.

my company wants me to design more this year, so i thought id bring it to DA's attention if anyone else wants to donate their designs to this organization. just a simple sticker. something our company can afford to make for free.

for all you watchers you can count on two things from me.

1. a never ending gratitude and appreciation for art, artists, and artisans out there working hard at the craft, and searching hard for their souls.

2. if its not MY art you get to see, its the commissions i get from some of my favorite artists that if you dont know who they are, ask somebody.

i dont take art lightly. I have admit that if it wasnt for DA i would have never achieved an appreciation that i believe was lost inside of me long ago. i thought i was growing out of my love for childhood things like cartoons, and comics.

DA kinda bridged that gap again and it makes me happy even tho my job sucks...(i get to live through you!)

i admire those who have worked hard to become professional at their crafts and have obtained success. i dont fawn over you or hate you with jealous grief. i dont want to be you or like you. i just enjoy having companions in the same strife.

you guys watching me havent got much from it i know. and i feel like ive let you down more than i let myself down. to be honest, i second think myself constantly. i regret not finishing school, and i blame my lack of skill on that. im good at compromising. the works you see here ive compromised my way through. i dont have a standard. i dont have proceedures, all i have is method, and compromise. which, you really cant put on a resume.

im asking anyone that reads this journal entry. from the very depths of my soul. i need YOUR help! i need a sensei, a teacher, a master, a mentor, whatever you want to call it, i need someone to walk me through creating art the way its supposed to be. im sick of getting frustrated with my drawings. im looking to duplicate someones methods. the best way i learn is to observe. i need to friend to teach and inspire me. i want to learn techniques. i want to study under a master!
