Favorite TV Shows?

Ooh, way too many. Topping the list is Doctor Who (that was prob'ly obvious xD), Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel, the Big Bang Theory, Eli Stone, Bones, House, What I Like About You, Ghost Hunters, and Mythbusters.

What inspires you to draw?

Lots of things, really. I'm a story teller at heart with an overactive imagination, and a lot of times (when it's not for a purely cathartic reason) what I draw is something that I had an idea to write and just illustrated instead or an illustration for something I've written. I want to say I just like playing with the characters (whether my own or borrowed from someone else's playpen), but I have a friend who said a while back that it's the characters that play with us, and I've since learned that's she completely right on that.

Which is your favorite Season 1, 2, 3, and 4 episode?

Oh, do I have to choose? S1's prob'ly Father's Day; my dad died when I was three, so Rose's daddy issues have always hit a bit close to home, and when it comes to wanting to go back and meet your dad/make it turn out different I can really relate to that one. For S2 I'd have to say Love & Monsters. I know it's one of the least liked episodes among fandom, but I just love it. xD It's just so crazy and random, and Elton completely stole my heart.

S3 is a tie between Blink and the Human Nature/Family of Blood arc. Blink was just brilliant, and I loved the possibilites HN/FoB explored with the Doctor turning himself human. Tennant's acting with John Smith really impressed me, and (even though I wanted the Doctor back) I was sad to see him go at the end. Plus, Son of Mine. Such a fangirl for him. <3 As for S4...oh, I hate to choose. I love Donna so much, and she's made every episode brilliant. My opinion will probably change as the series concludes, but right now my favorite is Partners in Crime, and that's only because of the Adipose. xD I love those little fat babies way too much for my own good.

What advice do you have for those other artists out there?

Keep practicing. I have a lot of friends who ask me to show them how I draw and try to copy what I'm doing, but when it doesn't turn out exactly the same they get frustrated and give up. I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil, and I still have a lot to learn. If it's something you really love and want to get better at, keep at it. The more you work with it, the more you learn - and the better you get. Stick to it, learn what works for you, develop your own style, and just keep it fun. Don't stress yourself out over your art so much that you lose your love for it. C=

Which is your favorite Doctor x Rose moment?

I really feel horrible for saying this, but the scene in Bad Wolf where Rose gets blasted by the Anne-droid. There are many times before that where you can tell the Doctor feels something for Rose, but it really shows in those few minutes where he thinks she's died. His face when he's brushing his fingers through her 'ashes' just kills me (and Jack's muted screaming at the station workers only make it worse), and then how he just shuts down. It's beautiful acting on Chris's part, and as angsty as it is it's definitely my favorite Doctor x Rose moment.

How long have you been watching Doctor Who?

I really only just started watching last summer (June 2007, I think). SciFi was showing one of their marathons, and I stumbled in near the end of Army of Ghosts. I couldn't turn it off for the rest of the day (it started with AoG/DD, then went back to NE and played maybe six more eps?), and then I was trying to find out whatever I could about the show. Total smack addiction, but I can't really say that I mind. C=

What inspires you to draw?

All the characters I have dancing around in my head. I have to tell their stories, no matter what. So I guess if there's an interesting character, even if it's not my own, I have to draw it.

Which is your favorite Season 1 and Season 2 episode?

From Season One, I'd have to go with Dalek, because it shows how awesome Rose is to be able to convert a Dalek to good. Also the look on the Doctor's face when he first sees the Dalek is acting gold. As for Season Two, I actually loved the two parter The Impossible Planet and Satan's Pit, but Satan's Pit was my favorite of the two.

What advice do you have for those other artists out there?

Draw a lot. And try to write or draw your own original work along with doing awesome fanart, if you can. It keeps the creativity flowing.

Which is your favorite Doctor x Rose moment?

"Oh, she knows." From Satan's Pit. I believe it's from that episode anyway. And the monologue the Doctor gave about having seen all these wannabe gods, but the one thing he believes in is Rose. Hot.

How long have you been watching Doctor Who?

Not too long, actually. I found out about it probably at the beginning of June 2007. So roughly six months. I practically devoured the first two seasons as soon as I got them.

Doctor Who (duh), Bones, X-Files, House M.D., Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations, Good Eats, Ranma 1/2, Trigun, and Full Metal Alchemist. To name a few.

What inspires you to draw?

Many different things: I draw inspiration from conversations with friends, fics that I've read, music that I've listened to, shows that I watch. Basically, if it causes an emotional response, whether that response is joy, sadness, anger or whatever, then I find I want to draw it.

Which is your favorite Season 1 and Season 2 episode?

God, this is tough, mostly because Season 1 was just so dang spectacular. I think I would have to say... Dalek. It was actually the first episode of the new series I managed to catch, and it has always stuck with me. Besides, we get to see the Doctor shirtless, which is always a nice perk. *giggle* As for Season 2, it's a toss up between The Christmas Invasion and the two-parter Impossible Planet/Satan Pit. I love them both dearly, for many different reasons. I think I've seen TCI now approximately 14 times. Yes, I'm insane.

What advice do you have for those other artists out there?

Practice. Lots and lots of practice. All the tools in the world, the fancy and expensive programs, the wacom tablet, aren't worth a hill of beans unless you take the time to practice your skills. If drawing something frustrates you, get up and walk away until you can calm down - an anxious mind will only result in an anxious, rushed looking piece. Take a life-drawing class if you can, whether in school or at a community art center - proportions are really key when drawing people in a realistic manner. And when doing photorealistic art, the more references you can get, the better.

Which is your favorite Doctor x Rose moment?

The last five minutes of The Christmas Invasion. Definitely.

How long have you been watching Doctor Who?

Let's just say that, like David Tennant, my first television memories include Jon Pertwee's Third Doctor regenerating into Tom Baker's Fourth. Granted, this was on American telly, so it was about ten years after it aired in the UK. But, yes, I was wee when I started watching the Doctor, about 4 or so. Tom and Peter were my Doctors growing up. Old Skoolers for DoctorxRose!

What inspires you to draw?

Everything. I have a Fantasy Prone Personality, which means I doodle over everything. But music in particular- every piece I draw has a soundtrack.

Which is your favorite Season 1 and Season 2 episode?

World War Three- getting to see the Doctor, the domestic and the phrase "I could save the world but lose you." Nuff said.

Despite all the Tooth and Claw stuff I do, I think School Reunion barely wins out for the second season. Doctor!Angst coupled with Rose!Angst with the Doctor getting so close to blurting out his feelings (plus Sarah Jane! I want her to meet Martha, just so she can tell the Doctor his standards have slipped). And Tennant vs. Head is just...Guh.

What advice do you have for those other artists out there?

A couple of things. One, Wire frames are your friend- the stick figures that map out where the basic bits go ensure you're staying within the laws of (relative) physics, and are easier to erase and reposition than the detailed over drawing- it's more work, but it's worth it. Two, Don't ever get discouraged. we all climb up from somewhere, and even the best sucked eggs at some point. I'm lucky- I minored in Visual Art and had some cartooning lessons, and have been illustrating for as long as I can remember. Three, Never ever listen to your fans. They will get you in trouble.

Which is your favorite Doctor x Rose moment?

"The Bits in Between"....oh, wait, that's still awaiting the seal of canon. Um, er, I guess it's a tie between the Marmalade incident in Fear Her, His reaction to the faceless Rose in the Idiot's Lantern, and the aforementioned scene in School Reunion. I generally rule out the kiss because the non-believers have too many excuses for it.

How long have you been watching Doctor Who?

I used to watch the old series in the early nineties because it was the lead in for Monty Python on PBS, while the new series I've watched since September. I was late X__X.

What inspires you to draw?

It varies, but mostly I'll find myself walking around with this picture in my head that just won't leave me alone until I make it happen.

Which is your favorite Season 1 and Season 2 episode?

Season 1 is The Doctor Dances, beyond a shadow of a doubt. I love the dynamic between Rose and the Doctor in that episode and the way she edges him out of his comfort zones. Season 2, oddly enough for a Doctor/Rose shipper, is Doomsday. As heartwrenching as that episode was, I'm glad beyond words that they showed them getting to say goodbye.

What advice do you have for those other artists out there?

Find what works for you. I spent years trying to make oil painting, watercolors, etc...work for me because I thought that was what art was supposed to be. It wasn't until I realized how much more comfortable I was creating via the computer that I really started to be happy with my art. Art isn't about stuffy museums and chalky pastels, it's about expressing yourself in a way that you enjoy.

Which is your favorite Doctor x Rose moment?

I have to say my favorite is when she came out of the wardrobe when they were on their way to Victorian England and the Doctor couldn't help but say she looked beautiful, even if he did immediately qualify it with the 'for a human' comment. I think it set the tone for every interraction between the two from that point forward and was the first sign that the Doctor was looking at her as 'Rose' rather than just another random companion.

How long have you been watching Doctor Who?

Oh, jeeze. Um, since the mid to late eighties? It only came on at like 11pm on Sunday on PBS back then, so I had to go all mission impossible to sneak into the living room to watch it without waking my parents up but I caught every episode I possibly could until it went off the air. Much as I loved the old episodes, it's great to have a new up-to-date version of my old favorite to enjoy!
