First of all, BIG apologies for being so slow again. This keeps happening again and again, and at first I was afraid to admit it, but I think I can safely attribute why I've been so slack on deadlining and trades and whatnot.

I've got a HUGE creative block. I've (very obviously) not written or drawn anything in AGES, and I'm struggling to find motivation to create altogether. In terms of GTM, I'm going through extreme stages of being motivated, then not being able to write whatsoever, and when I do, it feels forced. With the episode due last week, I'd written up the bulk of the story save tweaking here and there, and... wow. I didn't like it. It read to me as if the story had been written due to force of habit, rather than out of creative spontaneity. And I miss that creative spontaneity.

Since April, my work's been on a steady drip to an utter stop. I've not written poetry, songs or even diary entries for myself for months, and I'm struggling to find this creative motivation. I know that if I try to spark it back up, it'll hopefully come back on again, but it's finding the zest and the passion when I'm hardly the most confident fish in the pond. In fact, I'm completely devoid of confidence, and I've often said I hate who I am. Without getting too embroiled, I don't respect myself. I really don't. I make promises and deadlines that fail to hit home and recently I've hardly adhered to them. I really haven't.

I'm not quitting art altogether. This is what all artists and writers and poets go through... the creative block is the biggest fear of all three... when the spark dries up. And believe me, I've had creative block before, and it creeps up on you. This time around, the demands of a world outside writing and sketching and so forth are partly to blame for my slowing down in terms of creative passion. Despite my efforts this summer I've not been able to find a job, and I'm still struggling to secure work for the autumn. I'm poorer than a craphouse rat. Things kinda drain the passion that you put into other areas out of you, and whilst I'm wholly responsible for my lack of progress, continuity and overall CONTACT that I've been keeping, I hope to cut the block in half very, very soon. After the postponing of Ep 7 I looked at the script and started again. I shall go back to it, and finish the job, and make it what I want it to be. It's time for me to stop lying to myself.

Artistic temperament is a very loose cannon, and it can often deprive and distort other people. I have made a vow to myself that I will spend this coming week trying to overcome the artistic apathy within me by exploring what it is about cartooning, writing and poetry that once sparked a fire within me. When I return to Uni, I hope my Creative Writing modules will help to get me back into regular movements. No, not bowel movements.

Ghostriding to Minneapolis Episode 7, 'A Night At the Rhombus', was due to be uploaded at the already-delayed date of yesterday morning. The episode is a break from the norm in the normal layout and formula of normal episodes and is based entirely in the past, on the night Lance was attacked, entirely centering around DJ Fragon and Hugo Dare and their 'business'. The flashback elements deal with an essential tangent to Fragon's past that affects most of the main characters in play.

However, following recent news, I have decided to suspend this week's episode as a mark of respect for those who were tragically killed, and those who are still missing in the Mississippi Bridge disaster, in Minneapolis Minnesota, on August 1st. For those who didn't know, which I assume you must, the bridge that saw in and out a lot of Minneapolis' trade collapsed during rush hour on Wednesday, killing at least four people (they're saying there could quite well be more as some are still missing) and seriously injuring several more.

Whilst it may seem wholly unconnected to the incident, the series owes a lot to the city of Minneapolis (hell, it's in the title, and I'm not going to pull any punches by saying that eventually the series is going to end up there, maybe not this season or even the next), and as a mark of respect and to acknowledge the tragedy the best a mortal can I'm witholding this episode until August 7th. I feel as a mortal man this is the best way I can show my sympathy for the lives affected by the event, and that releasing the episode at this tender time would not feel just on my part as writer and entertainer.

The episode has been written, and will be released on Tuesday afternoon (GMT). It will be dedicated to the lives lost, and will remain unedited otherwise. I once again apologise for these several delays; most of them being down to artistic temperament (I STILL haven't scanned up and coloured four fifths of the art I said I would), but this time around I genuinely feel rescheduling and making this statement is my way of both ushering respect and supporting those families who have been affected by this natural disaster.

Brief newsage!

1. I lost out on getting through to the semis of the singing contest by HALF A POINT. My raucous rendition of 'Hip To Be Square' wasn't enough to beat some lass's rendition of Christina Aguilera's 'Beautiful'... which she'd sung ALREADY that night. Treble BAHS, but, can't be helped. She was an awesome singer, and I was fairly drunk by the time I came to do 'Gold' by Spandau Ballet... oh, the dancing. It was... at best? HORRIBLE.

2. I'm one step closer to sealing the future of GTM - a few of you have suggested that I could quite easily consolidate all episodes in Season One into one big novel in the past, and, well, I'm certainly thinking about it. I'm going to 'deluxe up' all twelve episodes following the season finale in september (y'know, spot any plotholes, grammar errors, insert bits and pieces in that keep the mythology flowing easily, removing any over-gratuitous references to LOST - not all of them, there'd be nothing left!) and compile them in two volumes of six eps each, with...

* Added commentary on episodes and character profiles!
* 20% All-New material!
* Never-before-seen Concept Art!
* ????
* PROFIT!

I'll be getting them up on lulu.com, a self-publishing site - and don't expect to pay more than $6 / £3 for each volume! Otherwise that'd be highway robbery. Seriously. Also, I'd be looking for some art contributions from readers, so get scribbling and yer work'll be included in paperback volumage! Wootsome!

3. Still writing GTM Ep 6, in which you'll find that one character in particular is about to take a complete turn in terms of polarity... but, from good to bad or bad to good? Who knows? And yes, we'll meet Lance again, and Ethan will have a change of wardrobe that will stay with him until I decide to mercilessly axe him at will.

Shelby will be the first character so far to have no demons, but perhaps the most vivid flashie. Yeah, even beating Elizabeth's 'DO IT FOR THE FAMILYYYYYY KILL YOURSELF IN MINNEAPOLIS' thing. That even got an 'erm, whut?' from me reading it back. Still. Rather than lead y'all up a dead end, Torchwood will find Fragon, and we'll learn more about the Moondancer, whoever the hell he is.

Ooh, and two new regular characters will be introduced! Who attacked Lance? What is the Wonder Project? Which character will be killed in cold blood in the season finale?

'Kay, I said too much. I'm still working on it - it's a biggie as normal, and if it's not up tonight it'll be up sunday (Saturday I'm off gallavanting for a good 17 hours, so they're out). I was thinking of getting rid of deadlines for meself as I a) rarely adhere to them and b) they corrupt my creative flow a little; but then again I'd only end up forgetting to do it. Artists have a built-in flaw to work by their own rules and goals, and they often feel that their own goals can be stretched so wide or flattened so much because they're their own. I've got more temperament than talent, in short! X3

Remember what I said about 'everything slowing down'?



I've got two job interviews (had one yesterday, went well but not kinda what I wanna do even in the short-term as it transpired) in one week! Normally, a 'HELL YEEEEEEEAH' all-the-way as ANY money whatsoever's a definite boon, but - god DAMN I'm tired. I'm out all day again tomorrow heading back over to Hudds to sort 'house' matters out and what-have-you (though, I AM heading over to participate in the second heat of a karaoke tournament at a local bar, so every cloud - and I'll let you know how that one goes - though me wallet is SCREAMING blue murder at me yet again for not keeping it well-fed), meaning over the next few days I'm gonna be absent. AGAIN.

But, silver lining - the stuff I've been wanting and meaning to get scribbled and get me back into Dieselism are well underway with some pieces even having been FINISHED - only, it's probable the next activity you'll see from me will be on Friday at the earliest, when I'm shifting the next instalment of GTM to (I think it was thursday when the last ep came out anyhow, so it fits as nicely as physically possible). Expect an EXPLOSION of new stuff when I get back online... we're talkin' TWO MONTHS' pent-up artage here, folks!

A week late, I've finished what needed to be finished, and sorted what needed to be sorted, and everything is winding down rather nicely for the summer! This also heralds that I've now got little to no distraction from what I've missed doing for months and months now... being Diesel again ^__^

Yup! After what's felt like nine-hundred-and-fifty-three 'OMG IM COMING BAK SOON' messages, enough is enough. I'm home, baby. And NOTHING is gonna drag me kickin' and screamin'. Arrowbase is back open for business, and here's a list o'stuff lined up for next week!

* GTM Episode Five - 'HANTOM BRIDE'. Yup, it's 75% written, as I'd left it a good month ago, and it's inches from completion! Believe me, it's the one that WAS worth waiting for. Three cans of worms are opened, and even more mysteries are gouged open for solving. PROJECTED ARRIVAL : WEDNESDAY 11th.

* GIFTARTS - As I promised, my best buds will be receiving colour giftarts throughout the week. Y'all know who you are, so watch them inboxes! PROJECTED ARRIVAL: ONGOING

* ART TRADES - As I'm still in HEAVY debt to Oliver here and Hypr over on FA, my long overdue tradehalves will be on their way hopefully before any of the aforementioned. Once again, deeply sorry guys. PROJECTED ARRIVAL: TUESDAY 10th.

and finally, the big, BIG stuff.

* SECOND FURSONA - My much-hyped secondary fursona, whom I feel represents a side to me that Diesel struggles to reach, will be revealed tomorrow afternoon. Name, picture and identity, and what I've got planned for him! I'll always be known as Diesel, but I'll now have a backup for certain occasions, as it were!

That's right, I'm still alive! Barely! Holy crap, it's been a while... and y'all need an explanation as to why my presence has been next-to-nothing as of late!

This last month has been HELLA busy. My new job as an assistant down the local Spanish restaurant took the wind out of my normal regime's sails, meaning I ended up finishing work on a half-weekly basis at about midnight every night, and getting to be about 4am... luckily, (or unluckily however you view it) my 'contract' there has ended temporarily til september, so I'm set up for the summer!

HOPEFULLY.

On top of that, I've had to start planning for moving out back into me parents' house for the summer, and the cleaning o' the house is a phenomenal task. I mean, HELL. The MOLD on that shower. But, anyways. I'm moving out on the sunday, work-free and stress-free (hopefully)... which means, I'll be back from Monday onwards!

I just wanted to apologise to everyone who's been disenchanted with my sporadic appearances and prolonged silence as of late - the real world has a horrible habit of sucking me in, and often my internet habits get sacrificed because of it. But anyhow, big apologies for not being around. I've got a lot to catch up on, not LEAST that damn GTM ep... which is halfway done, but hasn't been looked at in about two weeks I just feel I've let a damn load of you down, and the amount of times I've talked about deadlines and not stuck to 'em...

Anywho. Onto some happier stuff. Issue 2 of the Furtean Times was published last week, featuring the results of the 50 Greatest Furry Characters! Check it out at [link] Some surprising results, I'm sure y'all agree!

It's been one HELL of a week, and hence why I've been off the scene for a while - I've had possibly the busiest seven days in my existence thus far... to cumulate, I've knocked out a 2,500 word '20th Century Fiction' essay, a Creative Writing paper and portfolio of short stories worth 3,000 words in weighting, a 2-hour 'Sociolinguistics' exam and the planning of a house/20th birthday party for the friday just gone O.O

So, yeah... I'm KNACKERED.

Anyhow, bringing things up to speed, I'm back an' I'm regular again. This week's episode of GTM has been pushed back to the next (Thursday 10th), an Elizabeth-centric escapade (SHOCK!). I STILL owe both Oliver and Hypr trades, for which I'm really sorry for being so slow on. I'm finished at university for the summer (!) now, so chances are amongst finding a job to tide me over financially I'm gonna have the free time to work on projects ^_^

First of all... JUBILATION! Thankyou all, be you friend, watcher or merely passer-by, for helping me hit 3,000 pageviews... to hit the mark in just under six months is something I really didn't expect, and though at the end of the day even if it's just a number... the nicest thing in the world is that feeling that you're appreciated, or found even vaguely interesting. Hugs to y'all, and apologies to those who I forget to thank for favs and watches, etc... I came built with absent-mindedness. I'll be scribbling somethin' up for the milestone tonight - and here's to the next one, eh!

Meanwhile, thanks again to those of ya who've read the first episode to 'Ghostriding to Minneapolis' - and some news on that front. I've now decided to write 12 episodes in total in a TV 'season'/'series' format - meaning that series one will end in July, and I'll pick up series two in October.... there's some BIG issues to be raised within the characters' pasts, and more questions for the asking before the tide comes in, though I guarantee you'll find the answers to the following before the end of the series:

- Who attacked Lance
- What Hugo was imprisoned for
- What Fragon and Hugo are 'plotting'

And a load more that you'll start asking after the next episode, 'Everybody Loves Cinnamon Brownies', which will consist of Torchwood flashbacks. It'll be up next tuesday, and I'll be doing a lot more to embellish the personalities of the main cast (Diesel, Lisa, Torchwood, Ethan, Lance, Hugo and Shelby - you read correct) next time around. First of all, for those of you who haven't (or indeed HAVE) seen, a new online Furry fanzine by the name of the 'Furtean Times' has popped up in the last week, of which I'm helping out as Deputy Editor (ye can view the first issue and more info here: [link]).

Now, fer the next issue (due out in June), I'm planning to write a huge article on polled responses on what furries regard as their all-time 100 favourite furry characters from cartoon, comic, movie, fursona and televisual mediums - and this is where you lot come in!

Secondly, I've got some interesting news on my upcoming fiction project centered around Diesel - first of all, thanks to those who voted on the title, I've decided to go with the majority and entitle the series 'GHOSTRIDING TO MINNEAPOLIS'. Sounds odd! Is! But it makes perfect sense contextually... eventually.

Anyhow, I've written up a prologue of sorts before I kick the actual thing off, which I'm about to upload. It's gonna be a weekly serial, meaning it's not _particularly_ gonna end unless I reach a decent conclusion. It's gonna be a lot darker, more provocative and less fatfur and stuffing-orientated than 'Lisa and Torchwood' (though there WILL be those elements along the way, I assure you!), as I'm aiming to go for a more 'thriller/mystery' edge, and developing me character.

I'm also aiming on getting as many of me friends' fursonas and characters in speaking roles as possible during the course of the series, so if you're interested in having your character make an appearance along the way, drop me a note! Whether you'd like your character to be a client of Dr. Diesel, a rival, a colleague or merely someone hella interesting he meets along the way, lemme know and we'll discuss. I'm aiming to get episode one out on thursday, so stay tuned and lemme know what ya think of the prologue!

Fear ye not, I'm still alive at this moment in time, though uni work and so forth is draining me of certain tendencies (i.e., actually drawing something) - that, and I've hit a HUGE art-block again, which has lasted the majority of 2007 to date But, fear ye not, I aim to get some new stuff up during the next week. I swear XD

Be warned, some of it (despite being a minute-odd long) is fairly crude, and you'll probably only find it amusing if you laugh every time you hear someone with a Yorkshire accent pipe up... then again, I still believe 'Pigeon' has THE funniest voice going, so make yers mind up! And yeah... I'm the voice of the dog gingerly heating up Pedigree Chum on the stove ^^

Hey all, big up the new year and alluh that. Just thought I'd post me first journal of 2007 wi' a bit o' news : I've started an account on DA that will cater for all my non-furry work, mostly photography, poetry and scribbles which don't fit under The Doc's umbrella! Check it oot, it be called moonbound (I can't do those tags which direct you to the page ).

Also... there's info on there that may be of interesting news to yehs, me and me long time comrade Trev are working on a 3D animated series to be shown in the summer, focusing on the humorous exploits of the most unlikely crimefighting team ever - an anthro dog with a scottish accent and a tracksuit, and a pigeon with both a yorkshire dialect and an unhealthy passion for yoghurt... we're currently writing the first ep, and I'm gonna be voicing 'Al Sation', said mutt! Oh, the series be called 'Sidewards'. Keep 'em peeled!

Furthermore, aplogies for not doing much in a while. I'll get the rest of Lisa and Torchwood up during the rest of the week, and try getting pen back to paper real soon. ^^

Found this a while back on QueenDeDeDe's page... thought I'd give it a bash! Just completed a wee quessynaire whilst scribbling up some mintcake new shtuff, which you'll hopefully get to see within the next coupla weeks! Anyway without further ado, I give ye... 'Behind The Fattening'!

- He's a lynx, though he's been known to transform into things that, at present, aren't known.

- Possibly.

- A few. He wanders from place to place, makes a few alliances. Plenty of nemeses.

- Hatrix, a feline planet which I've written a backstory to and lumped somewhere...

- Yup.

- Pizza, or porridge. It's that Scottish blood in him.

10. What's his/her favorite drink?

- Irish Cream/Bailey's.

11. Is your character annoying?

- His enterprises and schemes are often far-fetched and underhanded.

- He's a doctor, with a pHD in Belliology and Fattening Sciences. He also runs an agency known as 'Diagnosis : Hungry', a highly lucrative slice of the fattening-for-profit market.

- Some have loved him, some haven't.

- No doubt. You gotta make some enemies.

- Nah, just a cynic.

- Straight

- No.

- Fattening, Racing (was an amateur motorcar champ a year or so back), 'cash-handling'

- He's got most normal qualities and failings, yeah. He might be a little ruthless but he's ultimately a nice guy deep down. Honest.

- You'll melt at the flick of an eyebrow

- He's got a short fuse, but isn't afraid to cry.

- Yes - six, reportedly, and so far we've only seen one.

- Possibly, in the past.

- He did, until the age of thirteen when he and his half-brother set up a belliology lab, which ended in both tears and a battle which is still raging to this day.

- He hasn't hit it yet. I've a feeling he will, though.

Hey all, the Doc here.

Firstly, thanks to everyone who's faved, commented, watched and viewed my page during this week's return to DAville - I can't believe the response I've had in one week alone, so big whoops to all o'yers, friends, allies and even t3h lurkz0rz! Rest assured there's gonna be some NEW inflation art up here somewhere across the weekend, and maybe something quite unexpected.... but nice all the same ^^

Anywho, before I slap some more new stuff up, happen to think I've had a notion! I'm gonna upload a 'blast from the past', one of my series/projects that've been seen elsewhere on the web, from four months ago to a year ago - that some've you've seen, some've you haven't - and I'd like you guys and gals to help me decide what Dieselly hunk of meat I should unleash upon the hungry public! ^__^

I've created a poll (whether it's separate to this journal or not, haven't a clue... I've gotta get back into the grip o' things here, really have. I still have trouble with real life, oddly XD) entitled 'Blasts From the Past', with a list of candidates for re-upload either before or after I start siphoning in some new gear. Pick yer fave and the winner'll get slapped on for old and new audiences to either delight in or be horriffied by! Probably the latter.

Here's the list of candidates with added detail, so's you c'n make up yers choices! ^^

1. LISA AND TORCHWOOD LOSE THEIR FEET
- A five-part story surrounding the trials and tribulations of Torchwood, a procrastinating and somewhat pessimistic fox, and Lisa, my fursona's peppy niece, and their attempts to get as fat as physically possible whilst exploiting Diesel at the same time. NICE.

2. DIESEL REVEALED?
- An interactive story/trail that still remains mysteriously unfinished... an elongated way of giving Diesel a backstory, there are no straight answers, many ambiguous questions and opportunities for you to act on your own initiatives. Who is Jago Cry? What do the symbols mean? What is the 'Dark Liquid'? None are revealed explicitly... unless you put your mind to it. The trail also requires you to utilise mediums outside of reading the source material in order to solve the mystery...

3. 3D WORK
- During spring/summer this year, I tried me hand at DAZStudio and in turn experimenting with Little_Dragon's Furaldo and Furette models... cue extremely fat anthros... IN ANOTHER DIMENSION! Big, big thanks to Sparky for showing me both the opportunity and the ropes. ^^

4. NON-INFLATION ART
- Aye, I've done some... not much, but I've done some.

5. SURREALIST CONTEMPORARY POETRY
- Not so much blasts from the past per se, but some weird-ass stuff I've been writing for an upcoming portfolio for one of my uni modules. Seriously, if you like the bizarre, the freakish and the just-plain-insane... this might be yer bag!

Namaste. It's been a while... almost a year, in fact!

Some of you folks'll recall me trading under the name 'Heathcliff_2040' here for some time, until the account ended up getting hacked and lumbering me out in the cold... I created a separate account, 'Heathcliffthecat', but never did owt with it.

The journey went from there, really. I found a room at The InflatioNation (at which I'm still residing, though haven't updated in eons due to a huge artistic block ), where I uploaded me furry inflation and fat art, before moving full-term to Fur Affinity as 'Diesel', the now permanent name of my fursona - the name's Dr. Diesel Leon, proper pleased to make thy acquiantance!

Anyway, like. I hit a complete block in terms of writing, drawing... the lot. >< I haven't done a fresh piece o'work since August... but that's gonna change. I've decided to reignite my DA persona as a) I miss some of the folk round here who I didn't cross paths with much following my 'wilderness months', and b) I, eh... felt like it. I'm gonna be keeping both my DA and FA galleries open silmultaneously for folk on both sites to grab a glimpse o' me new stuff...! For the block's clearing, slowly... there's new shtuff on the horizon. I can't promise it'll be MINT, but worth a yuk or two!
