Rainbow Bridge...

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When a much loved animal dies, it goes to Rainbow Bridge.
It runs and plays with special friends, in the rolling mesdows and hills. There, animals are restored to health and vigor, just as we remember them. They are happy abd content, but still miss the special people they have left behind.

There comes a day when a frolicking pet suddenly stops and looks into the distance. With bright eyes and eager body, it spots you and begins to run from its friends. Reunited, you embrace in a shower of happy tears and kisses. You look into the eyes of your beloved pet and realize that your love for each other will always live on.

Finally together, you cross the Rainbow Bridge.

Updates

Well it certainly does look that way for now.

Many thanks to all those whom kept my mother-in-law in their prays. At the present date, she seems to be getting better all the time. She is able to move her right leg and arm fairly well now. She still has some fine motor skill trouble in the right hand but she is getting better all the time. Hopefully she will keep this up and beat this bought of cancer like she has the last two times.

I turned joyfully 25 on the 13 of this month. And I didn't feel old... until I met up with an old friend that the family had been feuding with for 1 year and used myself as ice breaker. So they were talking fine as if nothing had ever happened until my mother slipped that the coming tuesday was by birthday. Well that was fine and dandy until he asked my mom well how old I was going to be. And he started laugh when she said 25 yrs and he looked as me and said, "You know you're a quarted century old now right?" Yeah when he put it in that prespective, boy did I feel old. And they my step-dad had to point out that i was now 1/2 his age...
I thought people were supposed to be nice to you on your brithday.

On a further note. I'll be gone for a the first week of November. My husband finally came around to the idea of getting a puppy! Yeah!!! So that week I am heading down on our vacction to Sue Saint Marrie Canada side, which is an 8 and 1/2 hours drive from Englehart in Northern Ontario Canada to pick up a cute little female Akita puppy that we have hopes of breeding to my mom's very nice and stunning male akita up when she turns 2 yrs of age.

And on another note....
I have moved my horse stable to its own account as it is starting to get pretty large, and it will be easier to organize over there.

Well, I was hoping for a brighter month but so far things did not fall in to play that way. It just seems to have snow balled from July on to now. Or even further back April.

So it started with a simple case of our Black Russian Terrier, Caesar, showing dominance agression towards me after I was laid off from my job as vet tech at the local animal hospital. As the months went he got worse. Found out the hard way that he had food aggression, he was messing in the house even if I was home, he was even taking food off shelves and out of cuboards, and when in the end when we went to repremand him when we caught him, he started to get a little snappy. So for months we let that go until August where he finally snapped and bit me when I tried to remove him from his kennel to retrieve the bags of chocolate chip cookies he stole. So saddly we had to put him down as this was not the first time he had tried to bite me over food. After we put him down we found out that he had a lot more problems then we thought. Now before anyone jumps down my throat for euthanizing the dog for 1 bite, I'll just state, that we took this dog in as a rescue from being euthanized by the previous owner for territorial aggression problems. We worked hard with Caesar for the year and half we had him. We took him to trainning classes where he could socialize with people and other dogs, and were in constant contact with the trainier and our vet for help when problems arose in our very large dog. Saddly in the end the trainer and the vet both said they could no longer help us with Caesar and his problems as he was beyond their help. And when Caesar attacked me over the food, it was time to accept the fact that the 130 pound 5 yr old dog was too much of a liability to have around in town as you didn't know when we was going to decide not to be a good dog. He was just too unpredictable. He cornered a friend on our own house, the neighbours kids wouldn't play outside when he was out, he would chase kids, and we even stopped recieving our mail. We didn't notice these things till he was no longer around, that the kids where outside playing again, and the new paper started coming back. Saddly my house is quieter now minus the dog and cat. The cat my mom took to keep her new house mouse free and refuses to give him back as her puppy just love him and he plays back with the dog.

So also in August, my husband was warned that his job was on the line. He drives transport truck and runs local pick ups and deliveries. Only problem is that with the economy the way it is, there had been so many lays off, that he was lowest man on the totem pole for run bumping when they got rid of the run. So that left him in a spot where he was threatened to be bumped off his run and forced to take a lay off. As of right now *fingers crossed* He has been dodging that bullet as a drive had to go off on leave do to injury on the job.

And this was only topped off by our car desiding that in this time of chaos, it needed to go into the shop to get fixed as the engine had a rock to it if you were sitting at the stop with your foot on the brake and then it got to the point that while you were driving the car she would rock. So over 300 dollars later that car now runs fine, but that was cash we really didn't have to spend, especially after having to put the dog down and the threat of no work for either myself or my hubby.

So that brings us to September, which didn't start out as too bad of a month. Everything seemed to be going fine. Moved my partens into their house, Gary still had his job, I got 2 weeks of good paying work booked in for myself, the car was fixed, sold two of the three cars that I have been trying to get rid of, bills were getting paid and we even has a bit of cash left over at the end of each week. Things were looking up that was until Sunday Sept 13, of course is had to be the 13th. I was visiting my mom's for dinner and waiting for hubby to come over their from helping his friend. I was talking to Step-dad as my mom wasn't there yet and when she did arrive she was kinda she ended up telling me that she had just found out that one of my great uncles was in the hosptial and that he had just been diagnosed with brain cancer. He had two lumps, one pressing down on his optice nerve behind one of his eyes and the other in the back of the brain. Getting busy again with helping my parents clean up a new property they are going to be renting.

Also, I haven't been up to drawning much as my husband's dog and I had a not so nice tussel, and either fractured a bone in my writing/drawing hand, or severly sprained it. Thanks to the dog even opening a door knob is a painful effort and I can only bend my thumb just a little bit before it gets painful. *sigh* Stupid dog. Wow, been a while for updating my journal.

Okay, so what's going for me then...

Well for starters, my poor car has pretty much gone and died on me.

Just before the winter hit Northern Ontario Canada here, my car possibly blew the head gasket or in the worst case possible... cracker her block. Which means she blows her antifreeze out through the exhuast faster than I can put it back in to keep her warm and running. She screams louder than a banshee cause one of her fan belts, which I just bought brand new and had installed in October, is acting up. She is nicked named the "Rust bucket" as her body is in poor shape. I mean if I go anywhere I leave a piece of the car behind. And to top it all off, she has no rocker pannels left. My dear hubby as dubbed my car "A Biohazard!" Now I'm not complaining...much. I just wish the car lasted a bit longer. I've owned her for 3 years now, paid $400 Canadian to purchase the 1990 Dodge Shadow, and $600 to safety her. And in the three years I've owned her the biggest bill I had to pay for her was a transmission rebuild of $800. So with the odd repair here and there, like a new muffler, tune ups, new front left axel and a bunch of other stuff, I've spent roughly $1200 on her in the three year period. The car did what I wanted it to do when I bought her and that was to get me back and forth from college to home for a year. She did that and lasted 2 more years on top of that. So the car really owes me nothing in the end. But in the end I am now stuck looking for a new car and so not at the right time either.

See with everything beening slow in the economy work at the clinic has gotten slow. So of course we all know what happens when work starts to crawl in a buisness... the Lay offs come down the pipe. Unfortantely I am one of the few that work at vet clinic to accept the law off, I mean I'ld rather take the lay off now when I still get a good pay check for my E.I. then when they start cutting hours so bad that there is no point to work there. So as of April 6 2009 I am out of a job until they hire people back when work hopefully picks up.

In the mean time on the brighter side of lay off, I get to work on fixing up the house my hubby and I own. And it also gives me time to think about starting our family or even think about going back to college to pursue a new career goal.

I haven't decided what the new career will bw yet, though it is leaning towards the human medical field and I am thinking on nursing. There always see to be a hosptial in my area or an old folks home, that are looking for nurses of some sort or other. And let's face it, being a vet tech I have the basics in the medical care already under my belt and I've been told switching from animal to human isn't too bad because with nursing you only need to know humans vs animals you need to know a varity of species. Also my other thought about a career would be something in the field of art, like teaching or animation.

Any who, I guess we'll just have to see what the future holds when I get there.

On the bright side of things, I get to go look at new car next week down in Hamilton Ontario while I am on vaccation in Niagra Falls. Maybe I might get lucky and find a good car.

So the ball of dirt that we live on has once again circled the great ball of fire in the sky, another 365 days has come and gone, and what does all that mean?

It means that I have once again turned another year older. Yep today is my Birthday, thus making me 24 as of 4:15pm. Yep, yep another year older, the more the wiser and still not that much brighter!

Okay, so with my wedding date swiftly approaching things are getting a little tense. I'm running out of time, funds and of course patience. I'm getting sick of people butting in where they don't belong and in a sense trying to run the new lives of myself and my husband-to-be. It's really starting to drive me up a wall and put a strain in our relationship, although I don't think he sees it that way.

I'm having a shit of a time as well. I just lost my last family pet the other month. Stupid 3s. I lost my Akita at the age of 12 on March 17, 2008. Then the next month my 26 yr old horse died on April 17 2008. Followed by 16 yr old Golden Retriever on June 18 2008.

And to top it all off my car had decided that at 18 yrs old that is should pretty decentigrate into a pile of rust and dust and loose it's muffler on the way from from the local city.

So to make it short and sweet and cut to the chance. I'm busier than hell, and haven't had time to myself to do anything I really wan. Plus I am laking the inspiration to draw anything at all, and my role playing has gone for the shitz.

*sigh* I know this can't last forever... but I really wish it was over now!
