Seems like the only salvagable thing is the HD and the video card. I'm going to have to save up for a new PC and thats going to take months.

Apparently, given the time this damn PSU is taking to arrive, it has to be constructed at mount doom by the magical dwarves of middle earth and flown via pidgeon express for it to get here. Also the fact is was routed to spain for no damn reason.

I can't update the comics because they are on my HD, which needs power...which is in spain.

This is especially frustrating for me since it was the comic's one year anniversary today and i had something special planned.

For now though i'm buying a gun...and catching a plane... to spain.

Merry Xmas to you all!

What was with the Xmas update this year? They seem to be getting stranger and stranger...Last year brought us slime...monster...things kidnapping children and this year it was animated snowmen. Madness! O_o

Still, at least the gift was decent this year. Snow summoning! and an unlimited supply of snowballs. Huzzah

Its also hard to beleive that the Construction skill is over a year old now...We all got given a Xmas tree last year to put in our houses.

I'm going to be taking a christmas break...a long one. I'm not going to be submitting anything until the beginning of Feburary. The reason for this being that i have colledge exams in janurary and have to work towards getting decent grades in them.

On the plus side, i'll have some time to work on the 100th comic which will be release the first wednesday of feburary.

Sorry to all those who submitted requests. I really can't manage to do them until later for the above reason.

I hardly know where to begin!

First of all, Remember me harping on about a clan that i did? remember me crying how it crashed, burned, died, was stabbed and the bones used for glue?

Well, i revamped the forum to be a discussion place affiliated to the comic. No, i don't have any grand ideas or much hope of people going there. But it does serve other useful perposes... Like beign a place where i can post my comic guide so i DON'T have to use email any more...and also a prize vault, which is empty at the moment but i hope will fill up when I start doing competitions.

Of course, it IS a forum for discussion, and i will be immensly happy if it works this time.
If you do want to join, you DON'T have to make an application. The forum sections are veiwable to EVERYONE but you can only post if you register (for security reasons).

I've recently been playing Monkey Island 3, and have picked up alot of useful tips and ideas for pirates and pirate related stuff. I hope i can use this to further improve improve my punching bags err... i mean "Xan and his brave crew"

Due to a lack of ideas and a terminal case of writers block i've decided to end "Not For Sale!" perminantly. I find that this will give me lots more spare time i can use to focus on my new hobby of spelunking. We've had some good times and have happy memories...















































































Ha!

Just kidding. Whilst NO i'm not finishing NFS, i AM suffering from a chronic case of writers block...mostly down to my quitting runescape temporarily due to a lack of sovlency in the mulah department.
This does mean that i might have to fall back on xan comics for a while...and mabye even expand beyond the runescape world into OTHER games...perhaps do some film stuff.

EDIT: LeNTo got his groove back! around halfway through a physics lecture i came up with an idea for a series of comics that should get me through this ideas drought and keep the comic striclty scapist...ontop of that a few people took pity on me and gave me some requests to do...Thanks to you from the deepest place of my hard drive ^^

I ended my subscription today because of a cash low crisis. This still means i'll still be uploading comics...just they won't be on anything new being released. To be honest, i've been need to do this for a while. it will be a time to take a break from the game and renew my love of it (which has been lagging recently).

There is a high chance that i'll have reached 5000 hits on my main page by the next update, so i will probably add a "Thankies so much" cartoon to go with the usual two that i do and, as usual, after a week i'll move it to the scrap section to peacefully collect dust.

there are some important dates coming up...and i've started to brainstorm ideas. firstly, the obvious christmas celebration is looming like an impending headache (i'm not a christmas person ok? ) and i've got some interesting ideas.
There is also a more important day of Feb 16, 2007. Which is the day of NFS's first birthday. I'm planning a celebration of this, including a caption competition. i have some prizes stored up.
Why am i telling you this? good question...Its usually because i value your input. What would YOU like to see as a prize to the competition? what do YOU think would make a good christmas comic? It has to be within my range of expertise...among other things.

I'm finally up to date with backlogged comics! So i'm right where i should be if i hadn't missed three weeks of comics. This means that we are back to two comics a week as usual...as well as the occasional artwork destined for the jagex shredder.

I managed to figure out a sneaky way of getting a banner for my journal. I'm not sure how legal it is...so if the DA mods want me to remove it i will. A suprisingly large amount of work has to go into making a 300x100 image be accepted. I really woudn't recommend it. Getting a subscription is so very much simpler.

Three cheers for Jagex! The masters of suspence!...not. I think they thought they were trying to be cunning leaving us cryptic message like:

"We couldn't part from you without mentioning something very, very big on the horizon. The new year brings a stunning new update, and we are so happy with it that we are going to let a few hints trickle out over the next few weeks..."

Ooo...i'm tingling all over from the (lack of) suspence. I think the main acheivment of this was to create a whole lot of confusion and wild stabbing in the dark. I've heard of lots of theories about this update...Summoning, horse riding, necromancy...an actual sky (OMG NO WAI) to the strangest of the lot..."Mechscape". A game like runescape but in the FURTURE (que star trek music).

Who knows what this will be. My personal money is on a different shade of white for the steel dragons... or something equally dissapointing. Lets hope Jagex can prove me wrong

Merry Halloweenmas!

Thats right...Halloweenmas. Seems like the cristmas sales come early these days. Advent calanders now being sold next to scary skull masks...Not only are they jumping the gun; they're jumping the gun, getting a medal and a complete award ceremony.

So...onto the update. Its halloween, so the four entries are all suitable goulish. And since death was a leading man at this year's holiday event....he gets the lime light here too.

I've tried a new way of doing the speech bubbles. The text is now all capalised and italic'd. I think it makes it easier to read and looks neater. What you you think? Yes? No? back to the old style?

Since the release of the orange box i've been playing alot of valve's latest masterpeice. Portal.

To any game fans out there i would wholeheartedly recomment this game. Its brilliant. short, but brilliant.

Only Valve would be able to make an inanimate cube shaped object a game character ( I Wubz My Companion Cube!) and devise an enemy thats so damn likable, expecially because its a funny, cake obsessed, evil AI.

So, its coming to the end of September. Things to look forward to in october? More rain, cold weather and of course: Halloween! (Spooooky) The one time in the year i dust of my scary movies and microwave up a batch of popcorn. I will aslo be doing a halloween related comic too. So watch the skies! O.o

September also was the month of my birthday. Yes, i'm officially 20 this month (Time to go out and buy my walking stick and false teeth methinks). I'm also going to get a tablet (when it arrives) which is something i've wanted for a very long time.

You might notice a drop in the quality of the comic in the nearish future as i switch from the Ink + scanning method to using the tablet. I'll be getting lots of practise at using it before then though.

This was supposed to be a 4 comic update including the two new requests i got. However, since i start my second year of colledge tomorrow the two requests got lost in the general bustle of getting readiness. They'll be here for next weeks update.

Also, since college has started i won't be able to do four comics in a single update for quite a while. this was pretty much a summer holiday special that has finished. I'll be doing my usual 2 comic ones from now on.

In other news i have recently started my own clan. as of today the Children of Seshat are born.

Unlike the usual clans that exist out there this isn't a clan that is based around a particular runescape mindset (Pking and Arpking) nor is it one that forces is members to attend events every week. Its a pretty laid back clan in fact. There are no skill requirements to join, you don't even have to play runescape to be a member.

What it IS based around is writing, comics, and artwork. Its a place where people can go and submit their work and get critism and constructive advice on how to improve you talent and skill in it.

So, if you want to start a comic, want to spread your intimate knowledge on a subject to other people or just want to have a place where you can submit your english assignment and get help or critism on it then this is the place.

So, God wars is finally out. By the number of enemies that are in the dungeon it seems most of the population of the third age was frozen in ice (I personally blame ancient magicks and their pesky ice spells). Its amazing that those few that were left were able to populate all that open space.

The reason for the dely of the update wasn't my fault (theres a first for everything right?). There were some problems with uploading new deviations to you gallery. Mabye you felt this too?

Its really frustrating having comics done and not being able to post them on time. Still, it seems fixed...so enjoy!

Wow, jagex finally released some new basic gear for our characters to wear. We can finally wear foppish threads, crazy hairstyles and facial hair that looks like it was taken directly from victorian england.

My only grumble is that the shoe options have been neglected out of this update. They stil exist in the 6 horrible colours, From depressing gray to [Unmentionable] Stain brown, that don't fit with any outfit in the game. apparently updates take a while to get the the fremmenick clothes shop. (on an unreleated note, where is the "japan" that the samurai haircut comes from? Beyond the black edge of the world?)

On an unrelated note, Deviant Art also brought out an update thats been needed for a while, gallery navigational buttons! (i'm so happy (: D)!). Only problem is that it seems to go the wrong direction. "Forward" go to older comics and "Backward" Goes to the new ones. I can always stick to the system i already have if you want. its really up to you.

I've been playing alot of draughts (checkers) up at the burthorpe games room. Minigame specific worlds have really perked up an otherwise dead activity. Three whole new comics and an artwork. What can i say? i was on a roll, I also wanted to get two requests done to lighten the Things To Do pile.

So, Clan Chat has finally made an appreance on Runescape. Seems that One to Many chat is all the rage now. And, following the trend like the mindless sheep I am, I've created a channel.

If you want to join enter "Akashima" (My Runescape Name)
I'll be in from time to time, but i also loiter on freinds channels too.

However! If your in a clan and need to use that to discuss how to evade Pkers, sell wares or discuss your events you can always join the #NFS Channel on deviant art, providing you have a DA account that is (They are free you know).

Runescape rules should be obeyed. And i'm sure your going to be smart enought to report anyone breaking them (to me or a channel op so i can ban them)

Yes, i did miss last week's updates!

I'm not going to make some half-hearted excuse about work, family issues, not enough time, etc. It will just be pointless. However i will say that I do have a good excuse for not doing the update.

Anyhoo, the update wasn't missed as such. I've included it with this one which means you get four comics instead of the usual two. I hope this makes up for it.

I did two requests this time but gained another. At least its decreasing

EDIT: I removed two requests due to lack of ideas, and the person who requested them wasn't forthcoming when i asking him for some more details. Making a request of "Do one on the fight pits!" is fine but be prepared when i come asking for ideas.

I'm Late on this update for a number of reasons. Firstly i have a secret project i'm busy working on that will be revieled when i'm good and ready (And i'm happy with it). Secondly was that i had to Format my pc on tuesday night and only got Photoshop reinstalled late on wednesday. This means i was up till late trying to get the page changes finished and the comics done. Hopefully you can find it in your hearts to forgive me.

As such i've only managed to get one request done this time rather then the two i wanted to finish. Just means that one might get pushed back another week.

The milestone deviation has been moved to my scraps section, since it has little to do with runescape. Thanks again for allowing me to reach that goal ^_^

I made some new labour-saving changes to my page that you might notice in effect:

A shiny new Archive (Thanks to Nlex for the suggestion) has been added to my Scraps and a link will always be present in my journal. I am hoping that this allows comics to be veiwed more easily and allows users to browse easily. If you were expecting a new deviation for the addition then I apologise. Its just an old peice re-edited, its more for the artists comments space really.

I've also updated all requests made by members of deviant art with the pic link to your gallery. This seems like normal behaviour for deviants so i decided to go with the flow. If i missed out on doing this to a request of yours then tell me and it will be changed.

In the Last of my page changes i've added navigational links in each of the comics. This allows you to go to the previous and next comic in the gallery without having to keep fliping through the gallery page. Its a real pity DA dosn't have this option available

However! I've not tested any of this so you might find some links send you to some weird and wonderful places instead of where it should send you. If you come across one of these links that please tell me so i can fix it.

Reached several milestones this week, 2000 pageveiws, 50 comics and a Zezima comic people have been asking me to do since i started but i've always resisted. Many thanks to you, all the people who read it and have allowed the comic to get this far (i really didn't expect it too). My request pile has increased 500% since the last update. You really know how to keep me busy. This does mean if you recently requested a comic it might be several updates before i get round to uploading it and i might also reject a few requests (or at least keep them on hold) until i get through the current ones.

In other news, I've been told by some people that they would like the NFS comics if they actually understood what was happening. To this end i have put up a small section for every comic i think gets a bit too confusing for those who might not play runescape or might not have started a quest. If you find them too patronizing you can always look away or ignore them. This is merely a move towards making the comic more accessable.

FYI i don't accept requests like this one:
"I k0ed some n00b in teh wild and got rune plate! i think this is funny and you should do it as a comic. lol"
I don't do comics on players or stories involving players as main characters. Just so you know

I'm very close to finishing a working guide on how i create the NFS comics. Any comic artist thats are just starting up and want some tips (Not that i'm in any way professional in my comics - Just some of those people are hard to approach) just email me (Zilleriller@gmail.com) asking for the guide and i will send you a copy as an attachment.

- Note - In order to follow the guide you need a version of photoshop. As much as i would i can't, won't and don't use paint. A scanner is also a necessary appliance.

Some of you have noticed that I'm doing alot more of the pirate nowadays. I really haven't done many of him and his crew and it felt like i had stopped using the character. I haven't. (Plus it gives Xanthangum, creator of the character Captain Xan, to appreciate. before it was like the landlord knocking on the door and I had no rent :S)

whoever owns the email "smoothmikel@gmail.com" please stop emailing me constantly complaining about racism in the Cap'n Xan comics that contain Jim (The black crew mate). I've stopped replying to your emails and any you send are joining their fellow emails in the spambox. You obviously have no purpose other then winding me up since you are not reporting the comics to the deviant art authorities.

I've decided to take a step forward. As well as the usual comic requests i am also going to do Forum banner requests. If you want a Banner for your clan forum that looks original and in the style of a "Not For Sale!" comic then i am prepared to do one. All i need to know is three things:
1) what is the size (Height and width in pixels)
2) what is the theme (What do you want on the banner)
3) what is the clan name/name of the forum

Any banner requests that are completed i will place in my Scraps section. The permission to display them is the only payment i ask, so other clans that may want to have a similar banner can look at banners i have already created. For now there is the Valeria Victrix (RIP) available for people to see here: [link]

As the same for Comic requests i reserve the right to decline a banner request if i think it may be offensive.

Summer is on the way...bringing with it hot days, ice cream and...Exams. I'm suspending the comic for a month or so because i am going to be studying and preparing for them. I need my time for work not comics.

But every cloud has a silver lining, and i plan on using the time i have between work to refresh and collect my ideas together. I will also have more time on my hands afterwards...so i might even be able to resurrect the Saturday updates once again.

Long story short, i was working on the artwork and got a little carried away, and forgot about the actual comics; So instead they have all been grouped together into todays update. So not only do you get an artwork...but two comics as well

On to the random stuff! My page views have almost reached 500! this is great news, despite the fact i have to remove about 50 off the total count from me messing around with my own page. If i ever reach 1000 then i will do a comic celebrating the fact. For now though, keep those fingers busy

I also have a second account on Deviant Art called Dark-Lento (Not sure if this is allowed or not). This is for my random GFX works that have no relation whatsoever with the comic or runescape.

I did another piece of artwork instead of one of the comics. I wanted to do something serious for once and this is it. there isn't supposed to be anything remotely funny in the picture.
I also took the liberty of targeting the (Now dead) trouble brewing mini game because it seems such a strange game. Any brewing process that involves monkeys is asking for trouble.

Next week will be mostly taken up with requested comics and newspaper submissions. For now though its a case of "Thats all folks"

Ok first item on the agenda - Racism
I can honestly say that i have never been more shocked and surprised when an anonymous email turned up in my Inbox saying the following.

"Dear artist of not for sale,
I was reading your comic when i found a racist strip called 'Rum Trouble'. You may think it is funny to make fun of political correct opinions by calling your African-American pirate 'non-discriminated Jim" but i tell you now that is is because of people like you and your attitude that is preventing the peaceful integration of our society..."

And it goes on...becoming more and more bizarre. I showed the strip to some of my "African-English" friends of mine along with the email and asked their opinions on it. Their laughter said it all.
As i can see no deliberately racist remarks in the comic it remains where it is unless a sufficient amount of readers complain. If you have a serious problem with one then you should report it to the members of staff of Deviant Art.

Onwards to item 2 on the agenda - Sals Newspaper.
I'm happy to say that i got accepted as a comic artist on the sals realm newspaper. the effect of this is that one comic per month will be put onto the newspaper instead of here. At least until it is published, then i can add it to my gallery. Many thanks to Eil for mentioning the newspaper to me, and for helping me greatly in applying for it. I hope i can maintain the position well.

I don't steal your ideas, and as you can see from existing requested comics that i give you credit for the ideas with a "REQUEST" tag in the notes. I however claim credit for the drawing and completion of the finished comic. Since thats what i do to it.

Its late because i was ambushed by microbes on Thursday and wasn't able to valiantly fight them off until late Saturday. At which time i realized i was late for my update and likely to an angry mob outside my house. Or at least i would i had any fans...

On another note, Hello to all the Slams people who found their way here! Either you took a wrong turning or you followed my shameless advertising topic. Either way, i hope you enjoy the comics.

Not For Sale! should be updated every WEDNESDAY and SATURDAY depending on how busy i am. I am going to be adding 1-3 comics per update, which gives you a few comics to read per week.

Its a Bumper Captain Xan update this time, with two of the comics featuring him. All this is in honor of Xanthangum allowing me to use Captain Xan as a permanent feature in Not For Sale. I Wanted A Filler Character - I Got A Rum Obsessed Pirate and his crew. Can't look Gift Horses in their mouths.

Expect to see him when Jagex ain't doing their job in Doing-Stupid-Things i can take the mickey of and I'm dire need of filler.

Tell people About -Not For Sale!- If they play Runescape and possess a single cynical bone in their bodies then they might like it. If not - i can't really please everyone, can I? As far as i know this is the only non-buddy comic that is based solely on Runescape. If there is another then great! Tell me about it and i can go steal their ide..."Look at their comic"
