I recently obtained a copy of the game this Christmas for my PSP, and fucking hell is it good!!! I really hadn't expected so much out of something so very small as a handheld horror adventure, but damn does this deliver. It hits all the right marks, is creepy as fuck, (trust me, I'm a tough guy to creep out) and the story is starting out great.

Well my only gripe about the story is the character you play really has no real reason to be in Silent Hill, unlike all the other game's main protagonists, he is just a truck driver with really bad luck. The first thing you do upon entering town is run into a burning home to save a little girl. It is a pretty tense moment as the house falls apart around you from the fire. You bring her out and she is rushed to the hospital, where you go to check on her. This is when things start getting fucked up, because you come to realize that the girl you saved was Alyssa, the child that was burned alive by the towns folk for being a witch, and the source of all the crazy shit you are about to go through.

The doctor tells you she died, which isn't hard to believe seeing as how she looks like a chunk of burned meat when you save her. But of course you start in the hospital, so you get to fight those lovely scalpel wielding nurses from hell right away. I have also been introduced to a slow moving big guy, with a pointy helmet dragging around a huge blade. Looks like a early version of Pyramid Head, but I will just have to wait and see where they go with this one.
