I'm Leaving DA Forever!!

I'm sick of all of this, and no one can convince me otherwise. It has all been a tough road, and we all know that, but this is just too much, the last straw.

Sometimes there comes a time when you just have to look at what has been laid before you, and make the right decision...

Hardened police officers have been shocked by the horrifying torture, mutilation and brutal slaying of a seven-month-old fox terrier pup "Peanut" at Moranbah.

Jonathon (Jon) Connor Blake, 20, and Trent William Cunniffe 24, (the accused) did not apply for bail.

Police have obtained video footage from a mobile phone that shows graphic images of the puppy yelping and howling in terrible pain as it is hacked to pieces.

Animal rights experts have described the case as one of the worst and most horrific in Australian history. Police allege that a pair of garden shears and a pocket knife were used to torture and kill the little puppy.

Moranbah police said the dog was a family pet and the owners were too distressed and upset to talk to anyone about it.

The pup's nose was cut off, its front right leg and rear left leg were cut off and it was decapitated. His stomach was cut open from neck to tail.

Police will say the dog was stolen from a residence in Railway Parade in Moranbah and was taken to a lookout in the town. Congealed blood and dog hairs were found on picnic tables at the lookout.

A three-part video series on a mobile phone shows the dog being tortured. The final stages of the video show the dog's mutilated body parts. The dog's body was found about 3.50am on Monday near the town's campdraft ground. It was dumped beside a road.

Police were attending a car accident when they discovered the dog's body. After seizing the mobile phone, police recovered a set of garden shears which had dog hair and blood on them. Police also took possession of the clothes worn by two men in the car, for scientific testing.

"Senior police officers were visibly shaken after viewing the footage. Police and the RSPCA say that if the allegations are true this could well be the worst case of animal cruelty ever brought before the courts in Australia," RSPCA's Queensland Chief Inspector Michael Pecic said.

"This is very, very disturbing," Mr Pecic said.
"For legal reasons this is really all I can say at the moment. But when you talk to senior police officers who have seen a lot of carnage in their time and they say it shocked even them, then you begin to get the picture."
Footage from the attack has been suppressed by police until the outcome of the court case.

The maximum penalty under the Animal Care and Protection Act for such an offence is $75,000 or two years in jail; however, the maximum penalty ever handed out has been a four-month jail term.

Both men were charged in the Mackay Magistrate's Court with stealing a dog, wilfully and unlawfully killing it, wilfully damaging a gate, and unlawful possession of marijuana, all at Moranbah on Monday.

I have been told by another concerned animal lover this little dog tried to escape on the bloodied stumps away from these people who slaughtered it in the end.

...H'okay.

So, I finally have a job, a proper one. It's at The Bay, for those of you who don't know it, it's a department store, like Sears. Anyway, I get a whole lot of awesome bonus reward points if I call in any suspicious looking people, and I get a 10% discount at any HBC owned store. I have yet to do a shift though, so I think I need some plain black shirts tho. The only black shirt I have is...stripey with white lines.

Apart from that, I've been looking and reading a lot of the stuff that goes down on dA, and I've decided that in order for anything that I feel is completely wrong or in need of change on dA to get changed/corrected, I'll have to get more involved in the community myself, and try to get changes done on my own initiative. Believe me, there are a LOT of childish popularity contests out there, and for a lot of the weaker-minded individuals on dA, whom are often dubbed "emos", these popularity contests are their undoing.

For anyone who's ever been to highschool, and been the child in the corner, or was left out of sports teams, or was the geek and hung out with the "nerds" and "gifties" or "weirdoes", and for ll of us who survived highschool to realise that there is something outside of popularity, I think you'll agree with me on this when i say how immature and unnecessary alot of these people whine about not being in the "cool group" or they aren't the center of attention.

This is NOT something you should be ranting about in a new journal every 5 minutes!

Okay, so there are some really popular people out there. A few of them are damn decent artists, and really deserve their popularity. These people are usually watched by thousands of deviants, and simply do not have the time to go over every little comment that is virtually the same as 9/10s the comments before it. As well, these artists tend to have lives outside of dA, and they have jobs, school, or family that they interact with daily. dA is more a means to get their work out there, and to advertise for potential employers, as more often than not, they do art for a living.

A few more of the popular "artists" on dA aren't incredibly talented, but are a great part of the community, and integrate themselves on alot of how dA works. They usually are great support for many of the more well known artists, and they usually don't post much, but would rather comment and encourage lesser artists to be their best. Or, there are the less talented but more witty artists who put their best foot forward to deliver some witty jokes in comics.

However, I feel I'm not alone when i point out the many anime fanatics who are more "popular" for their "art" because of it's fanbase. These people are "popular" because they know what a huge chunk of deviants want or like....anime. While in my opinion not the best form of art, though it can be tastefully done by some of the better manga artists, like the ones in Japan.

What bothers me MOST about the anime fandom, is that sooooooo many people think that they are "the shit" when they draw half-coloured, sketchily outlined, traced and copied or even plain recoloured "art", post it, and get a huge amount of attentoin from people who say "kawaiii-desuuuu!!!" in 3/4 of the comments, and end up being more well known than many brilliant, talented artists who have a very small fanbase because they refuse to draw "anime" and would rather draw something original and that takes more than 10 minutes of MSpaint and photoshop to render.

And then there are people who post zillions of pictures on their page, as though this were myspace or facebook, or even photobucket. I don't know about the rest of you, but i came to dA to watch people produce quality images, and to be inspired by some of the great (sur)realism artists on dA...not to have my inbox flooded daily with 10 pictures of some deviant's face, from all different angles, to show off a new temporary facepainting they got. One or two would suffice, no?

Although it's probably not my place to say this, I really wish that many people on dA had not joined. They cause drama, they flame other artists out of jealousy of the better artists' work, they flood peoples' inboxes, and they cannot spell! I had a job interview for a nice job yesterday. theres something i have to go to tonight to follow up on this interview, and i hope this goes well more!

also, I'm feeling a bit nostalgic as the school year rolls around...I'm not going back this year

ANYWAY! i have plans on building a super awesome PC to pwn Shoni's! itll be an awesome quad core with i unno 8 Gbs of RAM XD and itll have a fast processor, nice seagate HDD's and omg the VIDEO CARD wll be TEH SEX
